This moment hit me hard that day. I felt like I could of been blasted off the face of the earth, removed from existence. Maybe even floating in space. But life gave me another chance, like it has a mind of it's own, making decisions for people's lives. A figure that plays with us like barbie dolls..not a god or a devil, but perhaps in the form of a demon or omen.
We can't make everything decision, so anything can happen. The flashback I was having, not sure what triggered it but perhaps I should be more cautious and alert. It happened so suddenly, being subconsiously away from ordinary living and surprised that I was still standing in the same place afterwards.
The images flickered in my adverse memory, wanting to erase what scared me. I didn't want to hold on to the fact it happened, so I need to leave it behind...forever. But how? Is it imprinted in my mind that it will stay? There has to be a way. At the moment it is a mystery, the last thing I saw was a flash of light and sounds that I couldn't quite figure out exactly what almost killed me. I thought it was a train, but it didn't sound like one so it couldn't be. If someone else was standing there..would they of experienced the same thing? How can something unexplainable happen, of course could be mistaken as impossible or unstable. Knowing that I didn't know what it was, my defense went up and then it was gone. No enemy, no injuries, no fighting..nothing. I became very puzzled, blinking away looking around, and trying to wrap my finger around this. Should I keep believing in this when it could be difficult to explain? But something like this would be hard to forget, having so many questions running through my mind, trying to lead to an answer or explanation. So there was that abrupt stop of refocusing on my surroundings and looking around to see anything else unusual.
''You.. Vero-veronica..."
A huge shudder went up my spine of being spooked, I braced myself, feeling tensed and perspiration dripped slowly from my neck forming on my hairline before I turned around. Having that feeling of a presence being behind me.
My eyes widen when I could snap of it and a sigh of relief released from my heavy chest.
''Thank goodness it's you. Hey, Draken."
A smile appeared on his lips but he dropped it quickly.
''Eh, what's the matter with ya? You look like you seen a ghost." He shook me lightly and had a bit of a concerned look, and cocked an eyebrow waiting for my response.
''I would much rather of seen a ghost."
He paused he was about to open his mouth, but realized something.
He gazed for a moment and looked at me again.
''What do you mean?" Did something happen?" He crossed his arms and stepped back a couple steps, giving me space and listening carefully.
''I can't tell you..I'm sorry. You have nothing to worry about--''
"Nothing to worry about?" He looked away for a second and shook his head, "Ohh, don't be foolish you know ya can talk to your friend, what's been bothering?''
He put a hand on my right shoulder as I sighed in disbelief and sat down by the campfire, we took our time gathering sticks, leaves anything dry.
"If I tell you will you promise not to jump to conclusions?"
''Even though I have no idea what this is about, I will be here to listen to what you have to say."
''So does that mean yes?"
Draden's sophisticated smirk lifted in a way of joy and he nodded.
''Can I hear you say it?'' Now it was my turn to cross my arms.
''Okay, okay, I promise.'' he punched me in the arm and I laughed. When it comes to Draden's he doesn't easily say things like promising things to others. It felt like he meant it so I proceeded with how I was going to put my words together.
''Something strange happened..and I had thought the worse. I don't really know what it was so I seriously can't explain. I want to tell you but it pretty much was a flash of light ..I couldn't see anything but this light..it was blinding me and I don't know what kind of noise it was..almost like sound waves of some sort."
I frowned and paused, looking up at my friend.
Draden's didn't respond for a few minutes and he replied, which lead to his friend being tensed again wondering what he's going to say.
''Well I don't think your crazy, I'm interested in what you said about this umm..light. Oh! it could of been a UFO."
He laughed a bit.
"Draden...I'm serious about this.''
"I know ..sorry. It's just, how are we going to know what it is? We can only guess, unless you see it again or someone else does."
