The God Killer

PROLOGUE

Chemist Yuganty S. Bouriha lay very still on the ground of her most beloved place of the world. Her office workspace. The point at that moment was to let the intruders assume she was dead for real and not hatching some plans to escape their manslaughter. The footsteps would come near her and than fade away. This kept on happening for a long time, a very long time indeed. She prayed to all the Gods she worshipped for her to let live for just a few more hours when dawn shall grace the earth's surface. She would be free then or what she hoped.

A shriek in the distant corner of the top storey building of their office was heard muffled by a thunder, lightning lit the entire place bit she dared not to open her eyes and peek. What if she was peeking right into the eyes of death? Often nature would ally such crimes just like in the good old novels or movies, she thought to herself. Someone alive has been caught. It might be her turn the next time, who knew. Her heartbeats started rising up vigourously. Blood pumped to her face at an abnormal pace. Any moment from now she might get a heart attack out of panic.

"It seems like our job here is done, Kri. We should be leaving this place before the time we decided just in case to avoid any contingencies. Did you check this place properly?" a man with a sing-song voice broke the silence.

Yuganty forced her eyes shut and tried listening to the calm voice of the other intruder. There was nothing that she could hold of except his hissing and the word "God". What a tragic irony it was! They must have thought of playing God today, killing an entire group of intellectuals from all over the world. The World Chemist Organisation Headquarters was in taters and no one absolutely no one could save all these men today. No. Not even God. Funny that. You pray to invisible forces against darkness but when things are to happen they will, by any means and through anyone. Guess we all have a bit darkness in us which propels us to do heinous jobs.

The criminals left silently but she was not sure. So she laid still for hours before some security men found everybody including her. The difference was that there were no survivors except her. She looked everywhere. Blood blood and only blood. Her most treasured space in the world was gone and all her colleagues were dead. Why did this had to happen? How could people be so cruel? Will she be able to live this tragedy out where only she was the survivor? Countless questions started nagging her to the pits of hell and made her depressed and remorseful. She should have been dead too. But if she lives on she will take revenge on those thugs who destroyed her life in hours. She escaped the barbaric scenes in despair and ran to the only place she thought she was safe.

The Sister

Yuganty was always a loner right from her childhood. She hated being with friends her age, or playing with the kids in the suburban. They were a family of four, which included her mom, the two Bouriha sisters and their granny. By the looks of their mother and grandmother it was easily observed that when Mrs Bouriha first conceived their first child must have been a teenager mostly because they looked really young. It was of common knowledge that their father had died in a plane crash during their Yuganty’s birth. They remained in the outskirts of the town and lived off of money they didn’t know came from where and everything was good in the seemingly perfect house of the woman. Nothing interested Yuganty while she was young and nothing would have interested her in the future had it been for her sister Simaya who was ten years older than her and was a very, very intelligent girl.

One fine Sunday morning Simaya brought all her experimental equipment down to the floor and started working with a great vigour. The little bundle of happiness that Yuganty was, rolled to her side on the floor and started eyeing her sister about what she could have been doing. She asked aher in a childish tone though being 15 years of age by then, “ Simmmy, what are you doing with so much concentration? Are these some kind of chocolates that you are making for me to be taller?”

Simaya replied in a loving tone, “Dear Yu, these are not some random chocolates these are something that my entire life depends on. My entire career depends on how these turn out.”

“ Why do you need a career or a job? Can’t Harviz provide for both of you? Then you could be as free as a bird, fly in the open sky, spend his money and be the queen of his house.” Yu questioned Simaya with her dreams and added-

“Someday I will find my prince and not work so hard like you, breaking all your bones for your happiness. I will be the absolute princess of my prince and go shopping to buy me cute dresses, spa and everything.”

Simaya laughed her heart out at what she was listening from her sister. Little did Yu know what the real world was like outside this house, she thought to herself.

The bell rang thrice while she was still in her train of thoughts and someone stood in front of her, his hands waving infront of her face trying to wake her up from her daze. Harviz. When did he come?

Yu smiled ear to ear teasing her as much as she could meanwhile Simaya’s frozen self turned to a grimace upon seeing him and soon she pushed away the pills she was preparing underneath her mat upon which she was sitting and rose up to her boyfriend. She leaned in and gave him a kiss, which he had previously demanded her as his right and also to maintain the decorum of their relationship infront of others.

Everything looked alright to Yu but everything was far from alright to Simaya. Any moment from now her life might take a different route. This might be the end for her and her family.

The traitor

Hey sweethearts. I have realised we are so depressed at

times that it becomes really difficult for us to do anything except sleep all

day long. So I thought of adding some motivational quotes from some great

authors all across time and space so that it may boost up your spirit. These

will be at the beginning of all the chapters. If you don't like them just

comment and I will do as you bid.

Love,xoxo.

“Yu, could you give us a few minutes to talk?” Harviz asked

Yu, his eyes smiling that devilish grin. He was handsome and if he were less

than that probably- most probably the crisis they were about to face would have

been averted. It was all her fault. Simaya cursed herself. Damn. It was all her

fault.

Yu smiled sheepishly at her sister and couldn’t decipher her

grimace. She left the room in a moment.

Harviz walked to Simaya’s side in long, quick and arrogant

strides. He held one of her arms in a painful grip and with his other hand

grabbed her face. His breath reeked of alcohol and it made her want to throw up

immediately.

“Where is the ‘eye’?” He demanded in a hoarse voice.

“I don’t know. I don’t know. It is not yet discovered what

the elements are that we are talking about for the ‘eye’. I have no idea why

you think I might know anything about it. I am not even one percent closer to

finding it what you are asking me to find.” She screamed into his ears at the

top of her lungs.

That day Harviz was in no mood of playing or listening to

lies. He shoved her to the wall nearby and made his grip on her neck tight

enough to choke her. He wanted to please his dad this time for the failure that

he has been all these years to his father and the family.

Yu put her earphones into her ears, music blasting her

eardrums. She wanted to give the lovebirds as much privacy as she could. She could have never thought of what was going to happen next that would change the path of her life into a whirlwind of chaos.

Harviz, with his blood boiling picked up Simaya from the

floor, dragged her through the entire house and shoved her into the black Range

Rover. Today he would extract the truth by hook or crook,he thought. He remembered

all the sacrifices he had done for this project GOD. God!

He chuckled silently. Only he knew the pains of having to

act all this lovey dovey, puppy love with this woman to find the secret to his

success. He is ready to go to any extent to make way to a world his father

wanted to create. And this woman is the key to that.

 Yu remained unaware

of what was happening, tucked in her world of fantasy while her reality crumbled

into dust unknowingly.
