so basically Nicolas and Elise used to be the prince and princess of a kingdom called Stella but on Nicolases 16th birthday the kingdom was attacked and the kingdom fell to ruin

Nicolas and Elise only had there mother because they never got to meet their father because he had died before they where born
Midnight lilly
but There mother died protecting them so all these years Nicolas has been taking care of his sister and trying to get revenge not only for his kingdom bit for his mother as well

also the reason Ren asked Nicolas why so soon was because normally only special people get spiritual animals and Nicolas and Elise are some of the special people but normally you don't get one till your 16 while Elise is only twelve
