...CHAPTER 1...

Maya,she landed in Cali for a business meeting.

Her friend(Leah)texted her saying she couldn’t pick her as she was busy and asked her to get a cab.Maya did as she said but the cab driver looked confused when she gave him the address she didn’t explain much as she was tired because of the long flight.

The driver asked her twice with a confused look on his face if that was the place she actually wanted to go,Maya was confused and just nodded her head and said yes.She didn’t say much as she knew Leah’s fiancée and brother stayed with her so they would come to get her.

Maya didn’t feel comfortable the entire ride,she wanted to ask the driver what he meant.

Maya’s POV

Should call Leah and ask her to return home to receive me….

Aah I am overthinking…the area she is in is probably not so famous.duh Leah was always a introverted person.But should I ring her and ask whats up just in case but I guess she texted saying she is in a meeting.Omg I need to calm down.Should I ask the driver why he asked me with a doubtful look.This is getting to me now,what do I do?

Drivers POV

Does this girl know this address.Is she referring to that house!?

Oh no then I cant go there,What do I say to get her off the car early.Should I tell her that she shouldn’t go there.

(meanwhile)*Maya dozed off on the ride*

(after a while)*phone buzzes*

Maya wakes up to check her phone and sees Leah’s text asking if she reached the area!?

Maya leaned forward and asked the driver

Um..sir are we there yet?!

He replied with a smile saying

No mam there was a little traffic back there we’ll be reaching in 5 minutes.and I’ll have to drop you off earlier as its hard to get the car in that area

Maya replies with and uhm and continued to look outside the window as the California breeze brushed through her face.She thought to herself how pretty and felt happy about meeting her friend after a long time and felt happy about having to attend the meeting here.(after a while she texts Leah to send her brother’s number and didn’t get any reply).

*after sometime reaches her destination pays the cab and the driver speeds away*

Drivers POV

Omg she is indeed going to that house.Should I just tell her not to go.she seems not to know and seems very delicate and innocent.

(Maya sees the fear in his eye)

Maya’s POV

Why is he acting this weird he seems like a good man though,I hope for the good m just gonna ignore this.should I ask him…..maybe ill feel at ease.ah chuck it anyways……um why is he speeding away.

*walks around the neighborhood for awhile*

She tried calling Leah’s brother’s old number that wasn’t active anymore.

She thought she was lost untill she 2 people walking by,she went up to them and asked if they knew which house belongs to Leah…..they both went silent for a while and spoke French which she didn’t expect and also didn’t understand…they looked panicked and were trying to tell her something she still didn’t understand.She was confused why they were putting their hand on their neck and somewhat saying like someone was being choked or like chocking themselves and then the just nodded their heads and quickly walked away from me.

I started having panic attacks…like who wouldn’t in this situation? (I have no

idea what happen to my friend , I’m alone on the streets, and two people were

trying to choke themselves).

I tried to call her fiancée, he didn’t answer the call at first.

I called him again he answer, I immediately asked where Leah was…

He sighed and disconnected the call!!! ugghhhh what is going on!

I kept walking around trying to find someone who could help me. I kept trying to

call him. I got a text from him…it was leah’s brother’s number!, thankgod.

I immediately called him.

I asked him where was she and why is everyone acting weird….he just said “OMG”…

after a while he told me in a placid tone that she passed away 2 weeks ago.

I just stood there with my mouth open scared and told him about her texting me a

while ago. He was shocked too. He asked me where I was and told he was on his

way

for around 20 mins)…

He came all rushes up breaking out in cold sweats. We both went to her place and

it was filled with webs and dirt. It felt creepy and cold.

He brought her phone just in case to know what had exactly happened. He said he

kept her phone with him as a belonging that held all her memories.

We sat down at her dusty untouched place to figure what was going on. A sudden

rush of cold air brushed through my skin and sent shivers down my spine. Her phone

was dead, fortunately there was power supply to charge her phone. Her phone

glitched as soon as we turned. We tried to figure out her password but we

couldn’t…the greatest that she was,she had silly complicated ideas that no one

would think of. I remembered her telling she wrote all her passwords on the

wall behind her book shelf, we walked through the dark hallways to her bedroom.

There was a weird sexual tension between me and Caleb. I could feel his eyes

glancing over my body. I wanted to turn and pull him closer to me.

CALEB’S

POV

Why is she attracting me all of a sudden. My body is heating up the more I look at

her, I shouldn’t feel this way she is like my sister. I wanna feel her in my

arms.

(as we entered the room)

I was trying to move the shelf whist I saw Caleb’s arms from behind. He was trying

to help me push the shelf but I felt to turn around and hug him, soon I could feel

his muscular body touching my back. I suddenly felt something wet on my neck

and I see Caleb kissing my neck. I couldn’t move I just stood there letting it

happen. His hand slid into my shirt, suddenly the candle holder on the table

fell. Caleb was so into me that he didn’t even notice it and that the wax was

pouring from the holder. I immediately pushed him away, he saw it and stopped

me from going near it.

We both were confused because no one lit the candle how is the wax melted. Caleb went

forward to examine what happened, he touched the wax and ran backwards as if

something pushed him. He told me the wax was hot and burned him so he moved

back.

I wrote down the password hinted him to go to the living room. He held my hand as

if I was his girlfriend, I walked out of the room and the door shut by itself

behind me while Caleb was still in there!
