I Was Adopted By My Favorite Band (As A Pet)

Chapter 1

*When I was just a little girl, my mom would always tell me I could fly as high as I wished, swim to depts unknown and be anything I wanted. It took me twelve years of my life to actually realize that she wasn't just making a statement to encourage a young daughter. She was stating a fact*.

*My mother was a fairy maiden who fell in love with a handsome human and decided to abandon the magical realm so she could be with him. Her special abilities were that of a shape shifter and she could create amazing clothes with almost anything that could be seen physically. She wasn't a princess or anything special in the magical realm, just a simple dressmaker for the fairies. I guess everyone fairies need a special person to make their clothes*.

*Anyways back to me. After I was born, mother found out I was more fairy than human and that I had not only inherited the fairy glow but also her abilities. This was of course a problem and my parents were stuck between lying to me and hiding my abilities forever or being honest with me and letting me have a chance to choose for myself when I'm mature enough*.

*My parents who believed that it would be safer to be honest with me about who I really was and what strange things I could do, started telling me stories about how they met and about the existence of fairies right from when I was a baby. Hearing all their stories as a kid, I just took it as simple fairy tales told to put me to sleep at bedtime and cheer me up when I was sad or lonely. I should have understood that they were being serious and not just telling tales*.

...I was twelve years old when I first used my magical ability. It was just a week after my my birthday and I was coming home from school on that hot summer noon. As I passed by the stream, I decided to stop by and dip my feet in its cool water hoping to reduce the heat just a bit. As I sat kicking up water, I admired the tiny fishes swimming against the current....

"***Lucky little things enjoying the cool water. I wish I could be a fish for a bit so I could enjoy the cool water too***.", *was what I said as I forced my legs to kick up more water and make a bigger splash.

In mere seconds after the last word rolled out of my tongue, I felt tingly all over my body followed by coolness and complete wetness. My eyes shut open and I saw myself staring at other fish in the stream that also seemed to be staring at me in shock as well. I was confused about how I fell into the water and why the fish all looked like they were the same side as I was as well as why I had spent all that time thinking under water but yet still breathing. I became overcome with shock and fear when I realized that I couldn't feel hands and feet but instead could sense my body moving in the same pattern as the other fish*.

"***OH MY GOD, AM I A FISH***?"

Chapter 2

"***OH MY GOD, AM I A FISH***?"

*Finally coming to term with the fact that I was now a fish in the stream, I remembered that I didn't know how to move my body so as to be able to swim like a fish. As if this new form wanted to mock me, I started sinking down to the bottom. Desperately struggling to move my fins like how I had seen then other fishes do, I prayed to be human again.

Trying to swim up that hard was taking up all my energy and I couldn't move anymore so I gave up, closing my eyes and letting my fishy form sink to bottom of the stream. I continued to wishing to be human again as I fell unconscious*.

"...***ey, hey wake up***"

*I slowly opened my eyes and strained to looked around*.

"***Thank goodness, your alive***." *I looked towards the person speaking as I sat up*,

"***Your still so young, no matter how stressful or complicated your life is you shouldn't try to kill yourself***." *she scolded me with a stern voice.

She had gone into the water to save me and her hair and clothes were as wet as mine*. "***If you feel like your having problems then talk to someone about it instead of keeping to yourself***." *she continued* ,"***You look like the kind of person who doesn't have much friends***."

*I got a little upset when she said that but I couldn't deny it. I really didn't have much friends because I always kept to myself.

As I tried to stand she helped pull me up. I still felt a bit dizzy so I was wobbly. She went on to put my arm over her shoulder so I was leaning on her for support*.

"***Thank you***..." *I said in a low voice.

Standing next to her, I realized I was a bit taller than her but she looked like she was around my age*.

"***I'm Ryoko, what's your name***?" *she said looking curiously at me with her big bright eyes*.

"***My name is Karin***." *I replied*. "***Karin, it's easy to remember***." *she smiled at me*, "***Don't attempt suicide again okay***."

*I wasn't sure how to tell her that I wasn't trying to commit suicide and that not long ago I was actually a real fish. Not like anyone would believe that anyway, I simply smiled back at her and said*, "***Sure***..."

*After telling her my address she walked me home while telling me the story of how she saw me floating away and then heroically saved me. Of course she did make it extra dramatic but it was trilling, I was glad she saw me when I had changed back into my human form. God knows how dramatic the story would have been if I had transformed in front of her. We became close friends from that day.

My mom was surprised to see me being helped home with my school uniform all wet*.

"***What happened to you***?" *she said in a worried tone as she rushed to meet and hug me*.

"***That's exactly what I'd like to know too, mom***." *she gave me a confused look.

After making sure I was safe at home, Ryoko said goodbye promising to come check up on me the next day, which she did as well as every other day through out my highschool years.

With Ryoko gone I turned to my mother and explained everything that happened. She looked very excited when she heard that I shape shifted for the first time. However she also got worried. In a normal situation I'd need to put in a lot of mana, which is what magic energy is called, as well as visualizing the form I wished to take. In my case I didn't even know anything about mana or even the fact that I could magically change form into any animal. My mom tried to explain everything to me and told me that all the fairytale stories she had been telling me as kid, were all real. This revelation was shocking but I had no reason to not believe it when I had already turned into a fish earlier.

From that day on, my life was different. Not only had I learned about my magical abilities, I had also gotten a cool friend which meant I wasn't a loner anymore. My mom started training me to use my abilities and it was very easy for her to guide me since it was exactly the same as hers.

Ryoko and I hung out a lot. She was into pop music and her dream was to become an idol. She had both the looks and the talent for it so I encouraged her to follow her dreams. We'd go to different concerts together and when I turned seventeen I found an idol group I loved too*.

Chapter 3

... Blue Tea, an all boys idol group of six. Not only are they very handsome but also super talented. They were a local teen music group in my town until they got signed up to one of the most popular entertainment agency in the world and because famous internationally....

I had attended all their concerts before and after they got famous. I wasn't just in love with them, I was obsessed. While still in highschool I took up several part time jobs just so I could buy their concert tickets, pay to attend fan meets which I never got a chance to go to , join their fanclub and even buy gifts for them. It because a problem because I stopped taking school seriously and only thought of what my idols would be doing and which next concert I'd attend. My bedroom walls were covered in their posters, stickers and I made sure to buy anything with their face or name on it.

I was the typical example of an obsessed fan. Once, I got into a fight with a classmate that called their music lame which led to me being suspended for two weeks. My parents were disappointed and tried to get me to stop my obsession but it didn't work, nothing did. They decided it was a phase and wanted me to grow out of it but the phase was just too strong.

When we turned eighteen, Ryoko got picked up by an entertainment agency to become a trainee. I was so happy for my best friend who was finally going to follow her passion and bring her dreams to reality. My happiness faded soon after she left our town and I became once again, alone without a friend.

Driven into depression and loneliness, I immersed myself completely into my Blue Tea obsession and blocked out the world. Even after graduating from highschool, I just shut myself in and only went out when I had to attend concerts. Dad's job required him to be transferred to another country and Mom thought it would be a good idea to go with him. I didn't want to leave so they left me behind saying I was old enough to follow my own path.

... With my terrible grades, it was definitely impossible to get into college or even a decent training program. I decided it was best to continue doing part time jobs, besides my parents still sent me allowance every month so I was sure everything would be fine, or was it?...

You see the universe has a way of fixing you up when you go wrong. It took me less than six months to realize that growing up and being independent wasn't as easy as dramas made it seem. Two months after they left I had so much fun, I could eat what I wanted, sleep when, where and as long as I wanted, stay out as late as I wished with no curfew or parents telling me what to do or what to wear, I felt free at last. Then I realized that there was a reason why people cleaned their surroundings, woke up early, ate healthy and came home at decent hours of the night.

For two months I hadn't cleaned the house so cockroaches turned my home into their den. The cockroach infestation was the first attack from the universe. I was forced to take up the habit of doing house chores regularly. Then I lost my part time jobs for going late and not looking fit for the job, gained lots of weight from eating junk food without working out or even being physically active. My face was covered in pimples and in general I looked haggard from head to toe. All these happened in less than six months.

Ryoko finally got a week off from her agency, her nineteenth birthday was within the week and she could come home to celebrate it with family. I was so happy when she showed up at my door screamed ,"SURPRISE!". I was indeed surprised to see her pop up at my door but my surprise wasn't as great as the shocked expression she had on her face when she saw me.

"***Oh my goodness, what on earth happened to you Karin***?" *she exclaimed loudly*.
