The Act Of Lorde

The Newyear’s Kiss

It was still like a dream. [y/n] managed to get into one of the top fashion Academies in her dream city. She also managed to get the air tickets at the peak season. She landed just in time to celebrate the new year with her online friend. Boyfriend, rather. She had been talking to him for over a year now. Usually, online friendships didn't last this long but, somehow, this one did, despite not knowing each other's real name or face. Well, the fact that they almost knew everything else about each other more than made up for the unknown details. And now, fate had a lovely treat for her. To follow her passion, she moved to her dream place, which happened to be the city he lived in! Could there be a better coincidence?

Her love life, which was limited to the virtual world was finally coming alive. She was not going underprepared or underdressed. She wore a plain but sexy [Your favorite color] dress, the color they had agreed upon and, he would be wearing a matching tie. To make it easier to identify each other in the crowd, he had offered to carry some orchids. [y/n] couldn't help picturing how he would look since then. Though she had affirmed to herself that she would meet him without any expectations in mind, she went to bed every night thinking about how their first face-to-face conversation might go.

[y/n] twirled around in front of the mirror, checking herself out for one last time before she left for the party.

It was a celebration that the university he attended arranged.

It's more like a prom, he had explained in his texts,

Since most of the hero course students got busy with internships and provisional license exams during the prom season, they never got to attend one. UA University took it upon themselves to let their students experience one.

[y/n] blushed at how she was going to a prom night when she had just turned old enough to drink alcohol legally.

Due to busy streets, [y/n] could barely make it to the party a few minutes before midnight. She held the straps of her dress, pulling it up and fixing it to reveal a tiny bit of cleavage. Confirming all her accessories were in place, [y/n] took a deep breath, and let out a sigh, to calm her nerves down.

I am just a [your favorite colur] tie and some orchids away from you, she thought and smiled to herself. She flipped her [your hair length/hair color] hair for power and walked in, more confident than ever as everyone around started counting down to the new year.

A few minutes earlier, somewhere in the same party...

"I bet Bakugou has not had his first kiss yet," Mineta smirked.

"You're too vocal for a midget, grape bastard," Kachan replied from where he stood. He was leaning against the bar counter, with one hand inside his pocket and phone in the other.

"Come on, Bakugou isn't the kind who'd be interested in chicks and stuff," Denki casually continued as he raised his hands, shrugging.

"Oh! that explains a lot." Mineta got busy putting a bunch of stuff from the past.

"Oye, Do you two want to be killed before midnight?" Bakugou warned, without looking up his phone.

"Then, prove us wrong by kissing someone when the clock strikes twelve." Denki Joked.

"Ah?" Bakugou finally looked up from his screen.

"Why should I?" He questioned, agitated,

"Because you love challenges?" Denki tried to back himself up.

"And having a midnight kiss is way more difficult than you think," Mineta spoke like an expert while crying on the inside.

"Oh, come on! You guys, Don't rile him up now!" Kirishima had excused himself from his girlfriend to check on his friend when he overheard the conversation.

FIVE!

FOUR!

Will I see him before midnight?

THREE!

It's just a freaking kiss. What's the big deal?

TWO!

Where is he!?

ONE!

There is nothing I, Bakugou Katsuki, can't ...

ZERO! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

[y/n] felt someone pulling her by the waist and then felt a pair of lips sucking upon hers. Though the kiss lasted only a few seconds, the force of suction was so high that she thought she would get blood clots immediately. The person let her go before she started revolting. She was in utter shock and had no idea what had just happened! She didn't get to see him clearly amidst the crowd and confetti around but, the image of those piercing red eyes glaring at her was burned into her memory. She was brought back to reality by a cheery voice.

"Hi! You must be [your online alias]"

[y/n] turned around to see the person she had been longing to meet all this while. His infectious smile with a hint of nervousness, the freckles, thick wavy hair. He was even more charming than she had ever imagined.

"'Hi! I am [y/n]." [y/n] replied with excitement, completely leaving the recent events behind.

"I am Izuku Midoriya and, these are for you."

We... [y/n] knew,

finally... Izuku knew,

met... it was worth the wait.

On the Contrary

It had been a few weeks since the new year's party. [y/n] decided to put that unfortunate event behind. She was well settled in the city and was having a great time with Izuku as well. They were officially in a relationship. She even managed to intern at a hero agency. Her job was to study the hero costumes and make them fashionable. A job that was considered useless by heroes, as told by her seniors. But, She firmly believed that a hero's outfit should make a statement about the hero, radiate his/her personality.

Her boyfriend, who was one of the rising top heroes, not only comprehend her passion but also respected her talent for making even the most boring items into fascinating entities, as opposed to what her seniors had experienced.

[y/n]'s excitement about starting at the hero agency was palpable. She was thrilled to meet pro heroes in person and have a chance to re-model outfits. She was also a little anxious pulling their style statement down instead of elevating.

"We will start with you studying some hero costumes evolution throughout the years. Relate the modifications with the fashion trends and marketing trends set in the respective years and submit a report by the weekend."

The chief stylist of the agency had assigned work the second she met [y/n].

[y/n] was impressed and surprised at how work centered her boss was. She got into work immediately. After a week of extensive research, late-night shenanigans, rewriting the thesis thinking the previous one wasn't good enough and taking inputs from her boyfriend & his fellow hero friends, [y/n] finally submitted her report. Her boss didn't seem too impressed but didn't criticize either. She assigned [y/n] her next task: to make sketches of a hero intern's outfit and try different color panels.

"I will ask one of the hero interns to come see you." Her boss told in a neutral tone and left the room. The Fashion department was vacant most of the time since most fashion staff tended to work from their comfort zones. The boss who came in every day had a chamber of her own. So, [y/n] was pretty much by herself. She was looking forward to having company.

"This Asshole!"

[y/n] screamed inside. At the sight of the person whom she was so eagerly waiting to meet. How could she possibly forget those eyes?

Katsuki, on the other hand, cursed his fate for putting the one girl he didn't want to see ever again in front of him.

However, neither brought up the night. They worked in silence, avoiding eye contact, wishing for the day to get over soon.

[y/n] had had a long day. She walked home thinking if she should tell Izuku what happened on new year's. She decided not to. It was too late now. If she wanted to, she should have, sooner. At least when she recognized that *** from the pictures Izuku had shown her the day she had stayed over.

A few days later, Katsuki was asked to visit [y/n] again. To submit technical details of the gadgets he used and to answer any questions she had. Bakugou sucked at making things right, though the easiest way to ease the tension between them was to tell her about the stupid challenge and apologize, he couldn't get himself to. He. Simply. Couldn't.

He took heavy reluctant steps towards the fashion department.

"Ummm. Thanks for getting lunch, Izu."

[y/n] was seated on the table, with her hands around Midoriya's neck.

"I took a day off. That the least I could do, [y/n]-chan."

[y/n] kissed Izuku on the lips gently.

"We are so occupied with college, internships, and assignments these days. We barely get to spend time together. I miss you."

Izuku sounded disappointed.

[y/n] let out a sigh in agreement and hugged him.

"I miss you too, baby."

"Wish we at least worked at the same place. We could commute together." Izuku mused.

"I can put in a word for you! How can they say no to someone as talented as you?" He was holding [y/n] by her shoulders now. His eyes shined, radiating his enthusiasm.

"Our Agency is just as good, you know?" He was trying to be cocky now.

[y/n] laughed and ruffled his hair.

"Thanks for saying that, Mr. pro-to-be. But, I got in here with lots of effort and am learning a great deal. I don't want to leave half way. I know you wouldn't."

"Yeah." Izuku sulked.

Usually, Bakugou barged in, irrespective of the place and the situation. Except for this day. He had waited at the door a while before going in.

"Tch. As if getting to see one shit face for the wasn't enough."

Izuku moved away, and [y/n] quickly got off the table. A drop of sweat trailed down her cheek though she knew she wasn't at fault. Not much anyway.

"I don't know how shit works at your agency, Deku-teme, But here, we don't fool around."

Kachan eyed you in what seemed like disgust.

"Ah...Kachan, please calm down. I was just dropping off lunch. I am sorry."

(What is he sorry for?)

Deku's demeanor changed suddenly.

"I shall pick you up in the evening, [y/n]-chan. Bye for now." Izuku didn't even bother to peck [y/n] and left hurriedly. [y/n] had heard enough stories about Izuku's childhood friend Kachan to understand his reaction. But, she was more frustrated at how this person got away with being an asshole all the time. Izuku was used to Kachan's way of talking. But [y/n] wasn't, and she didn't plan to.

"Who do you think you are!?" [y/n] was raging with fury.

"Ah?" Bakugou tried to sound cold and clueless when he was burning on the inside. He had to face the inevitable confrontation now. He had ignited the fire.

"I don't know why Izuku tolerates your foul mouth but, that's no way to treat a friend!"

"I don't have time for this." Bakugou tries to escape the ultimate, one last time.

"You do, and you will listen to everything I have to say!"

To [y/n]'s surprise, he obeys and sits down on the chair unwillingly.

"First, You steal his new year's kiss from him by forcing yourself on me, and then, you are extremely rude to him for no reason at all. It had literally been five minutes since he arrived! We weren't fooling around. It was my lunch break for god's sake! And worst of all, He asks sorry like he was gulity! If any one should be apologising, it's you!"

Katsuki yawns as [y/n] went on, which aggravated her futher.

While [y/n] was fuming, Katsuki slowly speaks up, after confirming that she was done.

"Whoah! I didn't know you were dating at the time."

(even so, I am guilty of kissing you without consent. you dumb girl. you need confrontation lessons)

"I don't care how long he had been here. I saw what I saw and I may be an *** but have strong work ethics."

(I couldn't stand seeing you together.)

"As for an apology, I still don't see my fault."

(I am ***. I know. I also know it's too late to try being otherwise.)

"Oh you will see! I will make sure Deku gets one from you!" [y/n]'s anger hadn't gone down, even a bit.

Marking the Territory

Izuku received a text message from [y/n] saying she had to work late. It was out of nowhere, but being a workaholic himself, he knew better than to try convincing her to postpone, though he was looking forward to spending the evening together. Katsuki owned a chess set, which is why they decided to play at his place.

[y/n] was a/an [your expretise] at chess. Although she had lost touch, She had to do this; For her; For her boyfriend. Or at least that's what she thought.

It appeared like [y/n] had control over the game at the beginning. But somehow, Bakugou managed to turn the tables and call 'checkmate' on her. Only after losing, [y/n] wondered about her side of the deal.

'Claim something of mine as his?' She was sure she didn't own anything interesting, And, even if she did, he'd only be taking it for ten minutes. She didn't think it was a big deal until he announced his prize.

"Looks like you're used to losing," Bakugou smirked.

"Now.. what should I claim?" He rose from his chair and circled ger, slowly, as he rubbed his chin.

"Umm... Your neck!" He states and pulls the chair close to hers. He sets the timer and wraps his fingers around her neck and, gets close to her. He tightens his grip around the neck as if he was going to choke her. He lets go when she begins to gasp for air. [y/n] cough up a bit, trying to supply air to her oxygen-deprived lungs.

Bakugou winced a bit, seeing her struggle. But, didn't show it in his face. [y/n] looked at the timer that lay on the bed now.

'Eight minutes forty-two seconds to go! Oh God! what did I get myself into!?'

As expected, her face looked horrified. Bakugou was keenly studying her reaction. He laughed and said

"I am only getting started, loser. (Why him? Why him of everyone!?)"

'****'

Bakugou leans to kiss her neck this time. He plants a few more kisses followed by nibbles, careful not to cross his boundaries or touch any other part of her. He then began picked a spot and started sucking on it.

'He can't be! ****! ****! ****!'

BEEP. BEEP.

Bakugou withdrew immediately. He took a final look at the hickey that he worked on, he was proud.

"I had fun, teddy bear(It sucks you don't think the same)." He wasn't lying.

In fact, I had so much fun that I am gonna let you take as many chances as you want to win that apology."

He got closer and whispered in her ear,

"And, don't worry, I will take my sweet time to claim the whole of you."

[y/n] picked her bag and stormed out of his house without a word.

Bakugou punched the wall, finally letting go of the frustration that had bottled up throughout the day. He wanted to have a fresh start. No, he didn't want things to go down this way. He hated it. He hated it all.

[y/n] was at a local coffee shop, trying to apply concealer on the mark.

'That cunning bastard!' She thought. The hickey was going to be in sight unless she wore a turtle neck or wrap a scarf around. She was already so guilty about lying to Izuku and, what would happen if he saw the mark!? She had no choice but to hide. She prayed it healed soon and called up Izuku to check on him.

[y/n] wore turtle necks or paired her outfit with a scarf even on the hot days for the obvious reasons. Izuku had pointer it out, but he didn't push it further.

[y/n] spent a reasonable amount of time thinking if she should have a rematch. Being an Amine binge-watcher, she couldn't help but think,

'If I don't, then the humiliation I endured in the first one will go in vain.'

She waited a few days before approaching Bakugou for a second match. He wasn't surprised that she went to him, almost as if he knew that would happen.
