Why is my life a mess? My life turned upside down within a week. Did I go too far this time? Did i make the right decision? What have i done....

I was standing by the window of my new room lost in thoughts.

" Airin.... " suddenly a voice came interuppting my thoughts. l turned around to find grandma standing next to the door and smiling at me.

"Are you done with unpacking your bags dear? she asked walking towards me.

" Yes grandma.... " i said smiling.

" Did you like your new room here?" she asked. " Yes grandma, it's nice. " i replied.

I think she sensed that i was not in a good mood.she made me sit on the bed and patted my head and said:

"Don't worry dear, i know that you are upset....Everything is going to be fine. It's hard for us to see you like this.You used to be cheerful all the time"

"I'm fine.... " i said faking a big smile and hugged her. " By the way, where is Merin? Is she causing any trouble? " i asked in order to change the topic .

"No...she is in the garden with grandpa and delta...And someone is waiting for you..." she said.

"Who is it grandma?" i exclaimed

" Check out yourself" she said as she was leaving the room.

Hello, I forgot to introduce myself....I'm Airin Grace. Now i'm staying with my little sister Merin , my grandparents and our pet dog delta at my grandparents house. I joined highschool nearby and shifted to this place along with my sister. She also joined in first grade this year at my school. The classes are going to start in two days. I am actually nervous since this is the first time i'm changing school and i'm not really familiar with this place and the neighbour hood. Anyway, I hope that I'll get used to it soon. You must have noticed that i'm having a few problems. I'm trying to get over it. I think this new place, new school , new atmosphere and new friends will help me with it. This will be a new beggining for me...Now let me go and check who is waiting for me...☺

I went downstairs. Grandma was preparing something special for us in the kitchen. A delicious aroma was filled in the house. She takes care of us so well. I had visited here during the vacations in my childhood. Last time we visited here when Merin was a small baby. And i guess it's been six years. Now... for almost 2 - 3 years we are gonna stay here.

I opened the door and walked to the garden. Merin was playing with delta and grandpa was sitting on a bench and there was a short girl with brown hair standing next to Merin. I cannot see her face....she is facing the otherside talking to Merin. But.... she seems very familiar. Who is it....??

I walked towards them. Merin saw me and yelled "Airin..... Come fast..."

and that girl turned around with a cute smile on her face.

Yes... i recognized her, it was June... my childhood bestie. She smiled and waved at me. I was really excited.We shook hands with wide smiles and then hugged.

"June... How are you doing? It's been a long time" i said while hugging her.

"l'm fine... What about you Airin?" she asked in her cute voice.

"I'm fine too..." i exclaimed. The old days flashed through my mind for a moment. I wish i never grew up, childhood is the best part of everyone's life.... you don't have to be concerned of anything at that time, i thought.

"Do you know my sister? " Merin asked in surprise to June.

" Yes... i do, we were childhood friends.Your sister promised me that she'll come back the next year 6 years ago... I'm seeing her now after that". June complained.

"I'm sorry June... Mom and Dad were busy with work and we never got a chance to visit here all these years."I said

"It's okay.... finally you are here now.."she said trying to comfort me "Are you free now?"

"Yes... I don't have any plans" i confirmed.

" We have a lot to catch up... Let's go out for a walk to the park" June suggested. " Yeah sure " i agreed immediately.

"Yayy... we are going to the park" Merin shouted out of excitement.

I rolled my eyes and smiled.

I left with grandpa's permission with June, Merin and Delta. We chattered all the way to the park. After reaching the park, we sat on the green grass under the shade of a big tree. There was a great vibe in the park and i enjoyed it. Merin and Delta was playing around and June and me continued with our conversation.

In between the conversation June asked "What about your relationship status? "

" Uh... well... umm... " i stumbled

" She is hopeless in love, June... She'll stay single forever " Merin mocked me making faces and both of them broke into laughter.

" Not so funny... " i protested. "Well... what about you June? "

" Uh... actually... I had a crush on someone...but i didn't had the courage to confess... so... " she started to stumble then.

"Great... you were mocking me all this time and you're also single" i said sarcastically making fun of her

"Hee.. hee.. Let's change the topic...😁..... We are going to be in the same class, right? June asked.

"I hope so..."i replied.

We talked for the whole evening and returned back by 7.00 pm. Both of us are excited to be in the same class. She is very cute and chubby, just like how she used to be 6 years ago. She is very caring and charming. Everyone feels comfortable around her very easily.She lives next to ours'. So we'll go together for the classes.

But unfortunately, she can't accompany me on the first day of school. She have to volunteer the programme at school since she is a former student. So she will have to go early and will be busy. Nevermind, she is there in my class andwe all 's a relief.

It's the first day of my highschool life. I and Merin got ready and had breakfast.

Grandpa insisted to accompany us but I asked him to take rest and assured him that I can manage since June showed me the way when we went to the park. It's hardly a ten minute walk.I don't want him to have trouble with his knees.

We reached the school gate. The school compound is really big. No wonder why this is one of the best and reputed school, i thought. I went staright to the primary school building and dropped Merin in her class and talked to her class teacher. Then I peeped to the window to check on her and saw that she was very excited and started to make new friends..... On the other hand I don't know why I'm feeling so nervous.

Then I hurried to the highschool building. I noticed that a small crowd was gathered in the ground near the entrance but I ignored it and moved forward.

Suddenly someone blocked my way. "Where do you think you're going girl.??? Can't you see all of them standing here.... Stand here...." he said in a harsh tone.

I got confused for a moment and then realised the situation. The crowd was that of the freshmen waiting to be ragged by the seniors. Soon i joined the crowd. The seniors were sitting on a desk and the freshmen students gathered obediently around them. They called random students and gave them tasks and enjoyed the show.

" Hey... you two.... come forward.... " A senior called two boys out of the crowd. Both of them looks good, fair and tall. One among them have black and the other have brown hair. They obediently came forward.

"Umm..What task should we give you guys.... What about kissing someone from the juniors...." a senior girl with short hair suggested with a smirk.

"Oww..." the crowd made a sound in union, except me. I just hate such cheesy things😒

"No... they are just freshmen. Let's not go that far.... Okay, let's do something else..."another senior girl said.

Soon they started to select a few girls randomly and asked them to stand around the boys in a circle.

"Hey.... you..." a senior boy said pointing in my dierection. Me and the other girls standing next to me got confused.

"You.... the girl with chocolate eyes " he said and everyone turned around looking at me...
