Grace field house, an orphanage with a big house in the center and surrounded by forest with a gated entrance inhabited by orphans happily living together as one big family. Everyone lived there with felicity and a snigger. Although they're required to take tests daily, the children are free to spend their time as they see fit. Usually playing outside and help with the chores as long as they don't break the rules that expected from them to follow no matter what. Like getting near the gate and the fence in the back of the forest.

The orphans there were promised that they'll have a family outside the orphanage, but little do they know.....

One morning I just realized something eminent. I just found out that WE ARE LIVESTOCK?! Ironic right? Imagine living your life with happiness and laughter that it blindly you the truth behind everything.

Well? Isn't that exhilarating?! Don't get me wrong here. I love thrills and exciting things so even though after finding out that I'm a food for them. It just gives me this weird feeling that drives me to mess with their emotions and misleads them.

*Rattle*...*whack!* *Thump!* "What is that?"...

"I don't know either. Maybe it's another book of Minerva or something?"...

Kyne's the name and I lived with my foster siblings here at the Grace field house under the parental care of Isabella also known as our "Mama". She takes care of us and teach us as we grow older. Everyone loves her but I'm not like them, foolishly following and been playing into her hands like a toy. Don't get me wrong here though maybe? At some point I do like her, but not generally. I'm the exact opposite of Emma and have the same introverted nature as Ray but not as weak physique as Norman.

By the way, Mama is...she's scary and intimidating though you can't see it in first impression because she puts this innocent smile on her face. You can tell how trained and mannered she becomes so nobody noticed it aside from me. I could tell because I have this strange foreboding. I can't explain how or when it happens, but I can assure you that it always accurate no matter what. That's the reason why I'm always hiding because she gives this "I know what you're thinking" type of aura.

Sun. Mar. 25, 2040

At 6, both me and Ray is certainly equivocal about the house, about Mama and about our existence. We already noticed strange things like at first why we had numbers on the side of our neck? Second, why we’re forbidden to get near the gate and the fence in the back of the forest? Lastly the one that’s bothering me the most is that Mama told us that the gate is protecting us, but from whom or from what? Wondering how I figure out that Ray also knew the truth? Well, that's easy. I thought I was the only one who have suspicions, but I'm wronged. I was hiding in my room and I saw that Ray and Mama was meeting secretly so I got curious and eavesdrop them. I was astonished that Ray is spying for Mama and betrayed the others.

I'm one of the top students academically, but prefers to keep a low profile that’s why I  purposely making my scores to the average as possible even though I could easily get perfect scores. I knew that the order of getting adopted is the result of our tests, but I want to prolong my time with everyone that's why I stayed in the middle. Speaking of, the real question was why our older siblings didn’t contact or visit us even once? That’s where I started having doubts about everything. To be honest, I'm not as good in strategies or tactics as Norman and Ray but I'm good at reading others emotions and body languages. I was certain that he plans to escape with them. Based on how close he is with Emma and Norman. More importantly, I can finally have someone who understands our situation. Hence, he could be a possible hostile to the escape plan. Knowing Norman, the smartest in all of us  he'll guarantee that the plan will succeed.

However, all good things must come to an end. In every 2 months, a child is adopted and said to live with their new family but never to be heard from again.

"Hey! Nyke, don't you think it's strange?".

"Huh? What's strange?".

"Well, it's been five times already".

"What five times?".

"The dates! It's every 23 days after another. Don't you think it's odd to write a diary every 23 days? Normally, if someone is writing a diary they tend to do it every day or every week and sometimes it's not consistent but in this book its persistence."

"Yeah! Your right Dywen. It started January 16 year 2040 then the next is after 23 days, which is February 8 year 2040. I wonder what's the deal?".

It's been 117 days since Ray traded with Mama. I've been thinking about this for a while and I decided that I'll make a deal with Mama too. So today I'm going to confess everything I know so that she'll trust me. Don't get the wrong idea, imagine like I have a negotiation with a client or something. I'm no idiot who fights with their bare hands and lost in the end. I'll help Ray and the others with the escape plan…

*toc toc*..."Mama! It's me Kyne".

"Yes, you may come in. I was expecting you. So? You also want to spy for me too?".

*silence*... "Mama, you're right, but I'm not cheap you know? I was wondering you could use me to make sure that Ray won't betray you and such I could stop their plans in the shadow".

*"You think you can manipulate me huh? Well, I'll play along then for now."* *smiles*

"Ok then Kyne we'll make a deal so? What's the catch?".

*"I'm not that stupid you know. I know that we're just using each other to accomplish what we want for the time being. Don't take me lightly I know you more than you know me."* *smiles*...

"I'll be your ears and eyes inside and outside the house that's not all I could sabotage their plans by making the first move ahead of them. How's that isn't that convenient? All I want is you'll make me one of the candidates for being a Mama here at Grace field".

*"Oh? So she wants to be a Mama huh? Well, good choice my child it sure is a heinous, but life is unfair. Besides, we don't really have a choice do we?"*

"Very well, it's a deal"...

They shake hands with a smile on their faces and separated afterwards.

Sat. Jun. 2, 2040

Today I saw Ray hides a gallon of gasoline under his bed. It's already midnight and yet he still figuring out how to use his time effectively. Man he really is dedicated huh? I want to be like that too someday. Based on how many he nobble on sneaking gallons I'd say he plans on setting the whole house on fire. Not bad, it could make an opening and use that chance to escape, but that'll affect the younger ones that's where I come in I'll help to rescue them. Oh! By the way, I think this will be my last entry because I'll be spending my time reading all the books in the library so that I'll be any help for Ray in the future.

"Ugh, this sucks its her last entry". *glum*

"You idiot! It's a diary you moron, of course, there's another entry if you turn the page. Good grief your hopeless give me that". *passed* *silence*...

"Who's the stupid now, huh? Oh I know its you Dywen. You think I'm that airhead or something? See? It is the latter already".

*ashamed* "Hehehe, it was really her last but what the heck with this old book that's it? Really? Man, what a let down it was good and all but its unfinished"

"Hmppp! You're not even going to apologize? After receiving those harsh words from you my best friend it hurts you know it really hurts!" *silence*...

*burst of laughter* "Pffttt Hahaha, man, you're so emotional what are you a girl having her period? Fine, I'm sorry bro". *sincerely*...

Year 2045, 5 years have passed and the oldest childrens are now 11 years old. The day has come where the execution of the escape plan is taking place. Even though she traded with Mama they both knew that it was all just an act. Then she stayed quiet about everything else and watched them from the shadows. It was no loss for Mama if they knew the truth or planning on escaping because she have a plan of her own. After Kyne found out that Ray attempted on dying with the house, she was worried sick, then Emma came along and stop him. She was relieved knowing that Emma stops him, but a little disappointed because she couldn't do it herself. Everything went well in the end and they managed to break out in Grace field plantations but little do they know. A world full of strange, exotic and unknown environment.
