( A small town girl Myra has her own an ancient ancestral small mansion where her granny use to live with two cousins of her. and now she came here to start her further studies and she is all set to get admission in an Science college, she is a scholar student and she has an opportunity to got admission in a good college because of her excellent grades. so now she has only one month long vacation to spend with her family after that she would have to go to the college and would have  to stay in the hostel most probably.

    Granny was much more happy about my returning and vacation that we are going to spend together.)

( After arrival)

Granny greet me and asked for how was my journey, then she said dear Myra go and freshen up and then come back for dinner, she made some of my favorite food and the especial one chocolate cake that i love so much.

you must have been tired after a long journey so go and come fast.

"Yes I'm feeling so much tired, I'll be back in ten minutes.

(After dinner)

Granny said to me your room has been cleaned by butler so now you can go and take rest.

Yes of course, Good night. I replied.

( I tripped up stairs towards my bedroom)

I lie down on the bed for an hour and tried to sleep but I couldn't so I got up and start looking all around the room stumble towards a old bookcase that was full of my old books, there were dirt all over the self and books because butler hasn't cleaned it. the I removed my gauzy peach color mantilla propped it up on the wall hanger and got involve in dusting off all the books. meanwhile I found one of my favorite book of folktales of the werewolves and vampires that I used to read in my free time. it has old vintage yellow brown parchment pages which was quite fragile. I picked it out, put down it on the study table then switched on the lamp and start reading it again.

After reading two to three hour I slept.

And then I woke up early in the morning and walked out towards the hillock near the forest it was back side and little far from our mansion.I came here to see a beautiful view of sun rising I spend half an hour here.

when i was coming back to my place, my cell phone rang, it was my childhood best friend Kristina and now we are going to be classmate again in the college, I answered the call,"Hi, where are you can't you come to meet, it has been so long time to see you.

Oh! miss Myra the point is where are you because i am here at your place but you are not here. she replied loudly.

Okay, I got it stay around i'm on the way and will be there in ten minutes, just hang around.

I got my place, and greet Kristina, the we have some breakfast and start gossiping about what happened in our life lately and reminiscing some of our childhood memories we got involved in chattering so much without realizing that the day has been passed.

When we get out in the garden to the granny It's been night fall and was dusky all around so i ask to Kristina to stay here for a night, you can go early in the morning so just inform your parents. and she agreed.

After having delicious dinner which was made by my granny we ambled in my bedroom and Kristina fell down on the bed and saying i'm feeling so sleepy Myra don't disturb me.

Suddenly i remember that i had missed my ball lamp somewhere, so I start searching for it all around in the room but I couldn't found it.

Kristina get up, I missed my ball lamp somewhere that my mom gifted me before her death and it's really important  so get up quickly we have to go for find it.

Myra come on go and sleep it must be around so you can find it in the morning. she said in sleepy voice.

Kristina get up ( I shouted and pulled her hand ), come with me we have to go to that cliff near the forest where I went in the morning and that lamp must be there, it's an emergency for me so we have to go if you are not willing to come with me I'll go alone.

What! (loudly) have you gone mad? and you will go at that cliff, No we can't go and I won't let you go too so keep it in your mind that is a dangerous place there could be  wild animals in that forest.

( I pulled her hand ) come and shut your mouth up we are going so don't try to make any trouble we have to sneak out from the back door without disturbing anyone so keep silence.

( we sneaked out and reached at the hillock) and start searching for the lamp all around but it was not there.

Myra we are trying to find it out since an hour it's not here you must have missed it somewhere else just try to remember, and I think we should leave from here it's looking so dreadful and horrible place.

Okay let's go back. I said

As we turned around to leave we heard thudding sound and what we saw there was a huge animal at some distance and was swarming around as he was waiting for his food. Kristina held my hand tightly and suddenly fainted out, I dragged her to behind a big tree and whisper in her ear get up Kristina, get up, just was trying to make fainted Kristina conscious. few minutes later she got consciousness and start shouting after seeing that huge  reddish brown wolf like animal   ( I shut her mouth with my hand ) what are you doing? you want to be dinner of this huge wolf, are you? Myra these wolf can smell us  they don't need to see us or hear us so we can't move anywhere.( Kristina said mildly and sobs)

Oh! god the wolf is stumbling towards us, is he sensed us Kristina? she start crying, I don't want to eaten up by this (she muffled). we both were frightened by wolf it was continuously walking closer to us, wolf was just about to attack on us (my eyes were closed, i can hear my own heartbeats, palpitations, increased breathing.) and suddenly he stepped back after hearing a vociferous sound of other animals. that sound must be of his flock's animals.

We ran away from there after reaching midway we took sigh of relief.

(It was a miracle that we are alive after at all god saved us from that horrifying animal.)

So now we are safe, Myra promise me that you won't ask anything or explain anything to your granny or anyone else. just keep it up to yourself. otherwise granny won't allow us to go anywhere.

Okay, I agree.( I replied her)

(We sneaked in the house from backdoor and got inside the bedroom and slept.)

( On the terrace, I was lying down staring at the sky was trying to sort out some of my problems with these celestial constellations.)

"It was like that, when I cut off myself from the entire world for a while just for I could feel the shine of these stars". sometimes to feel a strong connection with this universe being a part of it and that's why I always wanted to be so close to them to explore my dreams in them.

And after a little while I realized that when I was coming back from the cliff which is near the forest to meet Kristina meanwhile I went across a car it was so close to me almost about to hit but driver stop the car suddenly and asked me for the direction of the city road, I think I have left that ball lamp over therefor sure, but now I don;t even remember anything about that person to find it out.( so no chance ti get it back.)

( Morning)

Kristina said, Myra you and me came here together after so long, so don't you think we should go to visit our town just for a change and some fun, who knows we will come here again or not. just go and tell the granny to not to worry we will come back before nightfall.

Okay, just wait, I'll be back in a minute. I replied.

I ask to granny, she said,"Dear Myra of course you go and yes you have to come before the nightfall for sure because this town has so many eventful histories in past. (she concerned)

yes, of course granny don't worry about it.

( We left)

we took a taxi and moved towards the town but later I saw that town left behind.

Kristina where are we going, like as far as I know this is not a way of town. I asked.

Yes Myra just wait a minute. (stop the taxi here) she said. and here we are. Definitely you are right dear, we are going to a carnival which is organized near the waterfall temple this is an old ritual festival of this town and it comes in every five years so I wanted to see it and I' sure you also would like it. Although I don't believe all this but I just wanted to know about this that;s why we came here, so come.

( After the entire day spending in this carnival, I think we should go to that temple Kristina.)

Yes, of course but we don't have enough time to go there so we can't go it almost about to sunset and then everyone will left from here and we too.(she said.)

But it's not that late Kristina come on we will be back before nightfall for sure, and if it happens in every five years so we should go to see it there must be something different to see so lets go over there. I said.

(After ten minute)

we got here, there were a very small statue of god and chanting, veneration were on. so many devotees were aligned in a queue, we sat there for about fifteen minutes.

( Outside the veneration place)

Kristina come, this place is looking so nice we can walk here for sometime until the veneration is on, look here we are almost at the top of this cliff and the depth of this abyss is unfathomable, it's so beautiful, Isn't it. i asked.

I think we can go a little more up, it will look more interesting for sure come Kristina ( I said loudly and runs upside). she  was after me while going along we reach exactly at the top of the cliff. ( it was almost about to nightfall) and then I realize we are inside the forest and lost the way to go back off the hillock.(worried)

Kristina, Kristina ( I shout )

yes Myra I'm here behind you what happened why are you shouting. she replied.

Look around, where we are.

I think we are stuck here in this dense forest and now how will we go out of this.( panic)

It's been dark all over around, here could be that huge animals around Myra, we would have to find the way to escape from here quickly otherwise those wolves will definitely eat us today.( sobs)

Stop scaring ( I shouted again) and let me think.

As I turned back,

 I saw there was a huge animal with red eyes but bigger than wolves It was looking little similar what did I see last night.

I was in a massive sock to see his eyes was like fire looking like they could burn me before eating I close

eyes and start praying.

After a little while, Before I come back to reality I opened my eyes in response to a soft and pleasant voice

was not familiar but breathtaking then I clearly saw a man was there of course

taller than me I’m just an average height, I couldn’t see his face properly because

of darkness all around I was just try to clear my vision.

Suddenly, I heard

What are you doing here this time? How did you people stuck here? Who is she fainted behind?

And now how will you go back to your home wherever you live?

We just come here to visit this temple over here and wanted to have view of this valley from the top of

this cliff but I thing we lost the way,I answered.

Yes you enter in wrong place and this is dangerous if anyone see you here then you won’t be able to

escape from here you could be stuck here forever so just wake up your friend

fast and come with me I will show you the way out.

I tried to make Kristina awake  in a while she woke up, before she ask any query I hold her hand and start running after that stranger it was needed to trust him because there was no other option.

Half an hour later he stops at a place there was a very old and damaged door it was looking like it is

close since a very long time he open it with some tricks  I didn’t get it because there was no lock.

Go straight then you will find the way to your village as you told me, “He instructs me”.

“I freeze for a while thinking about the situation” and I saw a lamp in his hand that was similar to

mine that I lost last night.

Run, I said run faster, “He

shouted”.

I gain my consciousness back with his voice.

Kristina held my hand and start running again after moving some distance we see our village street, and then we

take sigh of relief, for a moment forget about the adventure that just

happened.

And turn towards our home. Although, it was too late almost midnight happened.

We entered in my room from the backdoor the way we usually use.

I know that I will have to listen to much from the granny as she already ask to come back before night fall.

and we came back at midnight, I don't even know how will I explain her about what happen to us, I asked to Kristina.

 Oh no! there is nothing to explain to granny Myra she will not get anything whatever you will tell her, "she start panicking".

Okay, okay I will not going to tell her anything, now just sleep, good night.
