She was sitting in her lawn when the postman came at the door.

The mail he brought it was for her, but the sender was anonymous. She receives the mail and comes to her room. After hastily settling herself on the bed, she opens it and starts reading.

It says;

Hi Selene, I hope you are doing fine. Before anything, I advise you to keep this to yourself what you are about to learn.

You don't know me but don't worry I know you better than your current self. I know the things you like and dislike, just like I know you like soft music, you love to see romantic movies and read romantic novels.

You are not picky about food, but you can't get enough of dark chocolate dipped blueberries and hazelnut sweets your mother makes. And she makes the best hazelnut and blueberries sweet in the world, and potato balls filled with cheese, I mean you can eat those your whole life and will never get bored even if it turns you into a fat potato, you will never stop eating it, that much you like it, hahaha!

There was also a smiley face drawn and she was in shock by reading the latter, the more she read the more surprised she got because whoever wrote this later knew everything about her even her thoughts.

She started reading again.

There are people who love you so much, more than you can imagine. They will never hurt you or betray you.

If you have these people around you then you are living the life you will trade everything you have to get it.

First person is your mother and second is Bryce, a brunette guy. I know you think he is stupid, but he is the kindest and the most caring person you will ever find in your life. He loves you. You are the only girl he has ever loved, and you will see that with your eyes, just give him a chance to show you.

Try to love him, you know in your heart that it won't be hard to fall in love with him because he will go anywhere with you, he will follow you to the end of the world without you knowing. So why not become a smart girl and do something good for you which you never did, give your love and heart only to him because he is the only one worthy of something so precious.

There is another person who deeply cares about you, his name is Martin, you can trust him.

And lastly, it's a blessing what I am telling you, never ever think of going to Los Angeles and Beverly hills.

You will regret it; you went through hell once and trust me you don't want it again. I know that because I know you and I want your happiness. I want to Save your heart from sufferings. I Hope you find peace.

The later ended there, although there was another line, but it was smudged like someone erased it after writing, even after trying her hardest, she was only able to read " us m you ".

She folded the letter and sat there with puzzled mind thinking about the person who sent her the letter in question, and how can that person know everything about her when she herself doesn't know much about her past life.

All she knows is that she is 21 years old, living with her mother who works as a waitress at a restaurant. Her mother raised her alone by herself and she had childhood friend named Bryce.

She is working with Bryce as an event planner these days and was living with her mother because had an accident one year ago which caused her memory lost. That’s what her mother told her.

“Who could be someone that knows me more than I do? What was written in that last line and why did they erase it?” She sat there engulfed in so many questions.

It’s been few hours that the received and read the letter, but her mind was still occupied with the thought of mysterious sender.

The latter says that Bryce loves her, but he never said anything like that to her, although they meet every day. Now that she thinks about it, in her first meeting with Bryce, she did not become familiar with him very easily. However, he was very persistent and didn’t leave her until she became friends with him. Now she realized that he always does things what she really like. Sometimes he really surprised her.

She was immersed in her thoughts when Julia (her mother) enters.

"Selene my pumpkin what are you doing sitting here didn’t you and Bryce need to go somewhere today"

"Mom! You’re here" she saw her mother walking towards her.

"Yup, I came early today like you asked my sweet pumpkin.” Says while she came to her and hugged her.

“Yeah mom we have a very important meeting with someone today, I was just waiting for you. Let me call Bryce.

She dials his number and the call was answered instantly.

“Hi Bryce mom is home.”

Uhm!....Yeah…...okay I'll be ready bye.  She ends the call after saying that turns to her mom.

“He said, he will be here in fifteen minutes.”

Julia nods while looking at her daughter’s cheerful smile.

“You must be a tired mom. Why don't you go take shower, I’ll make coffee for you.”

“No, you don't need to honey I'm not that tired.” She denied and tried to get up.

“But I want to make coffee for you today, pleaseeeee I insist.” Says hugging her tightly.

“Okay my pumpkin.” Her mother left after giving her a kiss on the forehead.

She smiled and texted Bryce. They discuss their plan which was her mother's surprise birthday party. She gets up after talking to Bryce. She went to the kitchen to make Coffee. After that she changed and when Bryce came,

she left with him.

*****    Some time later     *****

Julia receives a call from Selene.

“Hi mom I am not feeling well and going to see the doctor, will you come to the hospital?  Bryce is coming to pick you up.”

“What happened honey? tell me. “Asks in voice full of concerns.

“Nothing big mommy I am just not feeling well, and I just wanted to see you right now.”

“Oh! thank goodness.” She sighed in relief.

“Don’t worry sweetheart, I am just coming.”  Ends the call and gets up.

On the other side Selene finished her call and gives a thumbs up to Bryce.  She was at the place where they

were arranging the surprise birthday party for Julia. All the preparations were done and now she asked Bryce to bring her mother here.

*****   Few hours later    *****

“So, mom did you like your birthday surprise.” She asked after they returned home.

“Yes! I like it because it was from my sweet daughter.” Her mother said wiping tears from her eyes.

“You know, you are the only precious thing in my life. It was meaningless before I got you. I was so scared after your accident Thank God I got you back. “

“Oh! mommy don't be sad, everything is fine now, you have me so why crying, I want my usual mom this mommy is making me sad too.” She said hugging her mother.

“Okay I won't cry anymore.” Julia stopped crying after that. They sat there laughing and talking about today's event before going to bed.

*****   Few days later   *****

She calls Mr. Martin who was mentioned in the letter as she didn’t want to tell her other or Bryce about it because she didn’t want to make them worry.

“Hello Mr. Jeremy Martin.” Says when her call was connected

“Oh! hello Selene, how are you?”

“I am fine Mr. Martin I just wanted to ask you something.”  She said to Mr. Martin on the other side of the phone. And she told him about the letter she received a few days ago.

“You know Selene sometimes there are things that better left unknown. I don't think you need to know anything more than you know.” He says.

“But it's my life. I should at least know something about what happened to me in the past. And who wrote this letter, please Mr. Martin.”

He sighed.

“Trust me you don't, because I saw Selene one year ago and believe me, I don't want to see that Selene again. She was nothing more than a broken piece of glass, taking risks and she killed herself to leave her past behind. It was you who chose this life and trust me you didn't get it easily. So, don't think about what was in your past.”

She sat that in shock unable to utter a single word.

“I will tell you this much that in the past, you wore having mental breakdowns and were getting treatment for it. You even moved to a new city but despite of changing your place, your condition didn’t get better and in the results of your treatment, you lost your memories.”

“You choose that yourself and now you have what you wished for, I hope you well, bye dear.”

He ends the call after wishing her well.

After hearing Mr. Martin, she left speechless. There were were the exact same words in that latter as well. For some reasons, she trusted the one who wrote the letter. Taking a deep breath, she shook off the curiosity she was heaving thinking maybe it's good if she didn't know her past.

She was sitting at the writing table scribbling some lines on a page making so much effort not to let it get wet with the tears falling from her eyes.

“So, this is your final decision?”

“Yes.” Came firm reply in trembling voice.

“Thank you, Mr. Martin for your help.” Saying that she hands him an envelope.

“Selene maybe if you give a little time to this situation, you don't have to go that far.” Mr. Martin said concerned.

“No Mr. Martin, there is nothing that can make this situation right, I am not rushing. I tried so hard. I did everything I could but I can't make myself to hate him even a little bit.” Says in complete helplessness.

“Alright, if that’s what you wish.” He says sighing in

defeat.

How could I forget, his love runs inside my veins like blood, his touch, his memory is like oxygen for me, not able to see him, touch him or hear his voice, it's killing me. Meeting him, knowing him has become a curse, I can’t go on like this.

She recalls why she comes to this. what happened that makes

her lose half of her life.
