The plan
It's 9 am and the office is already busy with people hoarding around a map, planning disguises and finding information
Destiny walks in, expectant, as she was told that she was to be assigned a high level case.
Liam
Good morning Morgan , you look way too cheerful and excited for a job that requires killing

I mean it is Destiny after all , when has she not liked guns and knives?
Also great work with the criminal last week his death was passed as a natural cause and the authorities didn't even check twice .
Destiny
Thanks but it really wouldn't have been possible without all of our combined efforts.
Co worker 1

Destiny

Liam notices Destiny smiling to herself.
Liam
Damn, what's that smile for, Morgan ?
Destiny
Ah it's nothing. It was really sweet of him to say that huh?
But Liam doesn't think so , he think the praise is well deserved as well as earned.
Liam
Don't let it get to your head , since the next job is really going to take a lot of wit and patience .
Destiny
Yeah I know it's a high profile case jeez let me live.
Liam
*chuckles* Alright alright so now let's get down to the business.
Liam
So it's Mr. A who has to be disposed off next.
Liam
As you know our sources have been trying to track them and pin their location down .
Liam
We've found him and you'd never guess who it is .
Liam

Destiny
Stop dramatizing it and tell me man

Um you sure you didn't get the wrong guy ? Like THE Atlas ? Like the Black and Gold Co. one ? Their CEO?
Liam
All the murders , all the disappearances, all the illegal money transfer. Everything. It's him
Destiny
Who would've thought
Liam
Exactly and this is the case you're supposed to work on. But I'm warning you it's not going to be an easy one.
Destiny
You know very well I didn't work my *** off to be handling petty cases. Bring it on.
Liam

Right so we have a plan already etched out. I'll explain it to you but you'd have to easily give a lot of time to him and make him trust you. Get internal information, supply it to us and all this time ,stay sane.
Liam explains her the plan and answers her questions accordingly.
Liam
So we'll have to carry it out the upcoming weekend, that is day after tomorrow. If you have any more questions you know who to come to. Get some rest today , do the preparations tomorrow and we'll meet at the casino near downtown at sharp five in the evening.
Liam
Get some burn phones and we'll inject the device into you right now . Alright?
the device here refers to a chip that is injected into an agent's body when they're going for missions to keep the subordinates updated about the whereabouts of the agent.
Destiny
Alright let's get going !
Liam hesitantly grabs Destiny's arm.
Liam
You know you're very important to me .. I mean um our company
Liam
Just take care okay ? Please
Liam
You always do reckless things and this time I probably won't be there to save you. Not that you need saving that's not what I meant ugh
Destiny holds his hand in hers
Destiny
I get it , Liam. I'll try not to worry you okay ?
Destiny
And you're right though if I died who's going to pester you
Liam
Destiny, don't say that .
Destiny
Okay okay I won't. I'll come back okay ? You want to make a pinky promise?
Destiny
You wanna go drink tonight? I don't have anything to do . Just like the old times and I doubt I'll be able to come with you during the upcoming months.
Liam
Sure it's my treat though. I'll meet you later at our regular place. Now go rest.
But destiny notices how he's trying to mask his worry and hide the sadness in his eyes.
Destiny
Liam, listen to me. I'll be perfectly fine and you don't have to worry about me. I will come back. Okay ?
Destiny notices that his expression has eased a bit.
Liam
Okay okay now go rest up ,you have you kick some ***.
Destiny
Alright I'll see you tonight, bbye try not to miss me.
Liam chuckles while shaking his head

Introduction
Hello this is my first novel here so please don't judge :))
So following is the introduction of our main characters.
Destiny Morgan, our main protagonist. A highly successful and focused agent who works undercover to expose criminals. Extremely strong headed and doesn't believe in destiny (see what I did there) or love.
Liam Williams, a superior who Destiny is supposed to report to. But they're very close and Liam admires Destiny's determination.
Atlas Pierce, to the regular world a young successful CEO to the famous company Black and Gold Co. but to the underworld he's Mr. A, a dangerous and mysterious mafia boss who will make anyone who crosses him disappear from the face of earth.

First meeting
It's seven in the evening and Destiny is patiently waiting for Liam in the bar they go to since they started working together.
Liam enters while glancing around and finally finds Destiny at the corner of the room sitting at a table with one empty chair in front of her.
Liam
Heyy I'm so tired dude
Liam
You still wear that leather jacket everywhere huh?
Destiny
Yeah it's the only possession I own that actually means something to me
This jacket previously belonged to Destiny's father who was killed by a murderer when he was unable to pay his debt. This was a big contributing factor in Destiny's decision to become an agent to take down criminals.
Destiny
So you going to order the usual ? whiskey?
Liam
Yeah you know me I don't really like experimenting with my alcohol.
Destiny
Alright I'll go order for us
Liam
Alright I'll be right here
Destiny gets up to go order their drinks.
Liam
(I really don't want her to go. Can I ask boss to send someone else? What if she ends up getting hurt ? I can't afford that.)
Destiny
What are you thinking about? you're too deep in thought
Destiny eyes him suspiciously
Liam
Seriously! Don't look at me like that!
Destiny
Haaaha alright alright now drink up
They sip on their drinks in silence, gazing outside the window looking at the crowd of people on the footpath.
Destiny, still looking at the crowd outside, asks Liam
Destiny
You ever feel like it would be better to have a normal life ?
Destiny
Like a regular job , an accountant or something? A normal life with maybe a nice relationship?
Liam thinks about her sudden question for a while
Liam
Yes sometimes I can almost see myself having a stable, normal life. A nine to five , a normal apartment without extra security or guns. But then again it's who I am. It's my job.
Liam
And if everyone wanted a normal life and got one then who would be in charge of cleaning the mess people create ?
Destiny
Yeah you're right. And plus the satisfaction of knowing that I could save at least some lives really makes all this worth it
They both sit in a comfortable silence while Destiny gently taps her glass with her finger.
Liam
I have mailed you the file containing all the information we could collect about Atlas. Go through it once.
Destiny
Yeah I'll do that once I reach home.
Liam
Yup. Wait a minute I have to use the washroom, I'll be back .
As Liam walks away, a guy who's visibly drunk approaches Destiny.
Random man
Hey hot stuff, you up for some fun?
Destiny
Uh no thank you , please leave right now , you're making me very uncomfortable.
Random man
Aw come on you resisting just makes me do it even more sweetheart.
Destiny
I told you no already sir, I'm asking you respectfully to leave.
Random man
Or else what are you going to do? Hit me with your purse? Come on I promise you'll have a lot of fu-
A shadow passed across the man's face and he was stopped in his tracks. A ruggedly handsome face with a pair of narrow eyes now stared at him intensely, daring the man to complete his sentence.
Atlas
Did you not hear the lady
Atlas
She asked you to leave
Random man
And who must you be ?
Atlas
It doesn't matter. You might as well leave while she's asking properly or we're going to have problems.
Random man
Damn you woman you're such a ***** anyways, you were sitting with a different guy and now this man here came to save you. All women are tramps
Destiny was hearing all this patiently but as soon as these words fell on her ears. She couldn't control herself.
She slapped the man across the face, picked her purse up and walked away while every singe customer watched in stunned silence.
Destiny texted Liam to meet up outside the bar.
Liam
What happened? I heard a lot of ruckus but you were gone.
Liam
Are you okay ? Are you hurt? Destiny, speak!
Destiny explains everything to Liam as he listens with a worried expression on his face.
Liam
So you're telling me that the man you're supposed to dispose off just saw you today? That could pose as a problem you know.
Destiny
Yes that's why I was planning to leave as soon as possible but that stupid man was getting on my nerves and I just had to teach him his lesson.
Destiny
It's alright you know , Atlas probably won't even remember me.
Liam
Also did that man dare to touch you ? If he did I'm going to go inside and beat him to pulp.
Destiny
Bold of you to assume that he would be still alive if he had laid his filthy hands on me. I myself would've beaten the shit out of him you know .
Liam
Well yeah I certainly don't doubt that. So now what do you want to do ?
Destiny
Ah, I'm tired dude. I just want to go home and sleep now.
Liam
Yes you should get as much rest as you can.
Liam
Alright I'll walk you home .
Liam
Who said that was a question? I am walking you home . Come on let's go.
Destiny groans as she follows him .
