A lot of things will be different in this story,
not the characters though. Please be aware
that you don't need to read the original story
as this basically is another totally different
version, but follows the story line of the old
book. Thank you to my loyal readers and
remember vote and comment, it shows me
you want me to write more. Again thank
you all for your support with the other
story, I hope this one receives the same
results.
He lounged on a raven black throne, decorated
with shiny white skulls and the most detailed
blood red roses I had ever seen. Intimidating
anyone who dared come close. The figure
perched upon the dark beauty was masked by
a cloak; it was made from the finest silks and
leather and was the colour of the darkest night.
My fingers itched to pull that cloak off his head
to see who hid underneath, but I never got close
enough to the man. His face would forever be
concealed by the shadows in which his cloak
would create, masking his identity from the
world.
He sat on the throne with an aura of arrogance
and loneliness. The room I was in was deathly
quiet, which added to the scariness of the
situation, the walls were painted a midnight
black hiding the corners in shadows. The floors
were a marble colour, polished to perfection
making the lights above reflect on the floor,
twinkling peacefully. A few steps lead up to
the man Daring me to walk up them, but like
normal I was glued to the spot and undeniably
invisible to the world around me and the man
in front of me.
"Hello.."I heard my voice echo around the near
empty room. I knew it was pointless to try and
make contact with anyone in my dream, but
this time something felt different. Annoyed that
nobody could hear me, I stared at the ceiling
where a beautiful chandelier dangled from the
rocky ceiling. Its diamonds sparkled softly from
the flames that kept the room alight.
Pulling my gaze from the ceiling, I realised I
was wearing a black corset dress, black flat
slipper shoes and my blonde hair was curled
and hung over my left shoulder. A black ribbon
was tied around my neck adding to the elegant
look. I tried yet again to make contact with the
man, trying to catch his attention. "Hey... you
creepy dude in the big *** cloak, yeah you...
I'm talking to you!" I screamed in frustration
bored as usual. But this time, his head snapped
painfully to where I was standing and the
strangest, mesmerising red eyes stared at me
from beneath the darkness of the cloak. They
pierced into my blue ones and ifI hadn't have
known I was dreaming, I would have sworn he
was staring straight at me, into my soul.
Awaking from the dream, I lay in bed trying
to catch my breath and control my heart beat,
which if you needed to know was trying to
beat its way out of my chest. I was sweating
nervously, that had never happened before in
my dreams! His red eyes looked so cold from
the obvious lack of emotion, I found myself
wanting to comfort the strange man sat on
the dark throne, it was as ifI was still there in
that dark beautiful room with him. What was
really weird was he actually looked at me as if
I was really there!
I ran my shaking fingers through my tangled
ash blonde hair, I was paranoid that I could
still feel his presence in the room. I looked
around my bedroom at the lilac painted
walls, to the black furniture of my wardrobe,
dresser and night stand. Shaking my head at
my childish thoughts, I threw off my plain
white covers and swung my legs out of bed.
Letting out a small yawn I stretched my armns
above my head, feeling my shoulders crack, I
smiled. Walking over to my bathroom, my feet
sinking into my black fluffy carpet, I pulled
open my bathroom door ready to start my
morning routine. I switched the light on and
waited as it flickered on for a moment. I let
out an ear piercing scream at the sight I saW...
So what do you think? I think chapter has
given you the reader more information
about the characters, I also left it on a cliff
hanger... And yes I'll update with the speed of flash so dont worry🤭😘😉
Hey guys and girls!!! I hope your enjoying
my rewritten story so far, I know I am! I
won't talk long, but please tell me what
you think and leave a comment and maybe
a vote? Anyways, I will go now so you can
continue reading the story.
I let out an ear piercing scream at the sight I
saw...
I tried to move my body, legs? Arms?
Anything? It was clear to me that my body
was rooted in place, quite like a tree that
was rooted to the earth. I feared that like the
beautiful trees that decorated the planet in
different shades of green and brown, I had no
control of what was happening to myself. The
large dark mass that screamed, no, demanded
that you felt at least intimidated by it, moved
from the almost protective shadows, revealed
my deepest fear and strangely my deepest
feelings, the man from my dreams. No, not as
people may have thought, although it would
have been nice, the perfect man for me. It was
but the strange lonely man who sat upon that
dark gothic throne.
The man, I'm assuming it was a man, let out
a low dark sounding chuckle that sent my
fear scale shooting through the roof of my
bathroom! His cloak swirled menacingly
around him as he took a step towards where
I was stuck to the white tiled floor, his hood
yet again masking his identity like in my
dreams. I stared at him in wonder, fear slowly
dying down at the realisation, that whatever
he was going to do, probably didn't involve
hurting me. If that was the reason he was
here, I would bet the last twenty pounds in my
purse, that the man in front of me would have
already killed me. On their own accord, my
eyes started wondering his body to see if there
was anything to identify him by, I swear if this
is a prank I'll flip! I let out a frustrated sigh
when I realised his cloak covered everything.
"It's rude to stare Sapphire," his voice was
husky and deep, the sudden sound made me
jump, but embarrassingly, I hated to admit
it I liked the way my name sounded on his
lips... Sapphire he could be some creepy ***
murderer! Anyone and anything could be
hidden underneath that cloak! My conscious
spoke quietly. But, being scared to death this
early in the morning and having enough of
being glued to the damn floor, I flipped.
"Didn't your mother ever teach you that it's
illegal to break into someone's house, then
stand in their bathroom like a stalker?!?" I
found myself saying; I gulped as his blazing
red orbs looked into my eyes, his deadly
eyes like freshly spilt blood flashed with,
surprisingly, amusement which seemed to
brighten his eyes and make them appear less
threatening.
As if floating above the ground, like a cloud
would move through the sky, he slowly
stalked his way towards me. I tried to struggle
or move from the spot, but my body was
hopelessly as frozen as it was in the first
place.
"Ah, but Sapphire I really did need to meet
you," he reached out to me, revealing a
slightly tanned large hand, one that he
was probably capable of killing somebody
with, his knuckles were scared from what I
assumed were from many fights. His hand
reached up to my face as he gently caressed
my cheek, I had wanted to shudder in disgust,
thinking that his touch would feel wrong.
However, surprisingly his hands were soft as
feathers. I unwillingly found myself leaning
into the caress, a blush tainting my pale skin.
Shakily I asked, "who are you and w..what
do y..you want?" I swear I felt him smile
beneath his cloak as I stared into the empty
space where his face should have been.
Something flashed in those eyes that had my
skin crawling. His hand went to my throat
tightening threateningly.
"Humans! Always the same questions! Who
are you... why are you here..what do you
want?! Why is my life sooo f#ck!ng boring?!?
It's the same sh!t over and over again, from
you though Sapphire I expected something
a little different, but you humans have a
way of asking pathetic questions... " I began
shaking in fear as my oxygen levels seemed
to disappear completely as black dots covered
my eyes. His red ones burned into mine.
Slowly his grip released from around my
throat, and with that my body seemed to
return to normal, well apart from the fact that
I couldn't move.
"Has anyone ever told you... to t- take a-a chill
p-pill?" I asked quietly my voice a bit ruff
from the previous moment. I allowed myself
to look curiously into his eyes. I still felt
fear, but I think being deprived from oxygen
messed with my thoughts to mouth process.
"The last person who told me, and I quote, "to
take a chill pill," was unfortunately for themn,
but very entertaining for me, burned alive
and thrown into a never ending darkness." He
stated, stressing the word very and looking
extremely proud of himself. "But you, I'm
beginning to like you so Il only warn you..
he paused for effect, a sinking feeling started
in my gut, "if you ever dare to disrespect me
again, I'l throw you into hells pit and laugh
at your terrified screams until they are no
more!" His voice boomed with thunder and
held a hidden promise to me, that had me
shivering with fear.
In that moment though, seriously thinking
this was an actor, one that would win an
award hands down. I smiled to myself feeling
an unknown burst of courage float up and
around me, "tiny bit dramatic ain't we? Empty
threats get you nowhere in life." I smirked at
the man in the hood.
"Oh sapphire, you'll wish my threats were
empty once Tm finished with you. You truly
have no idea who I am? Do you?" He spoke
calmly, the atmosphere in the room turned
suffocating, causing my heart to race. Sweat
formed on my forehead and I itched to wipe it
away. Sapphire, you stupid girl! My conscious
screamed. This isn't an actor, why would you
try and p!ss off something, that may or may not
be human..
But being the idiot I am, I blurted out
the first thing that popped in to my none
existent brain. "A selfish pig?" I asked almost
innocently. A low dangerous chuckle sounded
from beneath that dark cloak. In the blink of
an eye, I was pinned up against my bathroom
wall, painfully hitting my head in the process,
his head went to my ear, I could feel his warm
breath tickling my ear as he breathed.
"Try the devil, sweetie." He kissed my neck
gently, as I breathed in a woodsy smell, "your
worst nightmare." With that, he disappeared..
it was as if he was never even here to begin
with.
I sunk to the floor letting the information sink
in... damn, that meant the devil could win an
award for his acting skills.
Sorry for short chapters 🙇🙇🙇. Hope you like *them***☺️☺️**
Later that day I arrived to work at The Little
Ray of Sunshine cafe, run by Mrs Ray. She was
in her late fifties, but didn't look a day over
forty! She was five foot four, had soft caramel
blonde hair and the greenest eyes I had ever
seen.
I arrived slightly late today, due to meeting
the so called devil, what was really bugging
me was the fact that I didn't even know what
he looked like, only that he had dangerous
red eyes. Running into the cafe, I squeezed
past the long line of customers where Mrs
Ray greeted me with a warm smile. I quickly
apologised for my tardiness. Damn the devil..
"You wouldn't believe the morning I've had,"I
said whilst putting on the little black apron, I
tied it around my waist and grabbed a tray to
clear up some empty tables.
"We all have our bad days child," Mrs Ray
said softly, "now get back to work before I fire
your ***!" Amusement twinkled in her old
eyes, lighting them up. This let me know she
wasn't being serious, I smiled genuinely at the
women I had known for the past five years.
A few hours later, Mrs Ray called me to
the back room, "can you be a dear and go
down to the basement for some tea bags and
coffee?" She looked very busy chopping some
vegetables up.
"Yeah sure, want anything else?" I asked
opening the door to the dark, creepy, spider
infested basement.
"No, just coffee and tea bags dear." I
descended down the squeaky staircase, upon
reaching the bottom, I pulled the light switch,
but nothing happened. I repeated it a few
times to make sure the cord was actually
working. Just my luck, now I have to find the
tea bags in the pitch black! The strangest thing
was the fact that Mr Ray had changed the
light only last week!
Turning round to climb back up the stairs not
bothering with getting the supplies, I heard
a voice that sent shivers down my spine and
not in a good way. The voice had me stopping
dead in my tracks. "Scared of the dark? Isn't
that just adorable, my little angel's afraid."
My heart rate was beating so fast, I couldn't
breathe, depriving my body of sweet oxygen
as I felt my air ways closing up.
"W-what are y-you doing here? Go away!" I
shouted into the dark nearly hyperventilating.
"I wanted a cup of coffee. Why else would I be
here?" I couldn't tell if he was being serious,
or if he was extremely good at using sarcasm,
but I'm going to bet it was the latter as he
stepped into the only light available. Light
that was being provided by the opening up the
top of the stairs. His cloak in place masking
his appearance.
"If you wanted coffee, why aren't you
upstairs?" The man shook his head from
side to side, chuckling softly to himself, his
red eyes glowing with amusement. "Why
won't you take your cloak off?" I covered my
mouth with my hand, realising I had asked
the question out loud, I began backing myself
away from him slowly, feeling my feet bump
into the first step of the stairs, if looks could
kill, well let's just say I'd be 6 foot under by
now.
"If you know what I looked like, it would ruin
my fun. You see I could pass by you in a street,
sit next to you on a bus and you wouldn't
have the faintest idea it was me!" He paused
slightly. "Also, I happen to be fully aware that
the cloak I wear often causes people, mainly
humans, to fear me more, that's what humans
do you see, they fear the unknown." I snorted
at his explanation.
"One, I don't think the average, normal person
would have blood red eyes, do you? Two..
again with the dramatics, really? I must
be special to be graced with the almighty
Lucifers presence twice in one day." I paused
watching the amusement fade out of his
demonic red eyes. "Three... I said quaking in my
boots! Your cloak is sooo scary!" With that I
ran for my life up the stairs...
Okay... hey guys! I know chapters are short that's why I'm updating more chapters as fast as possible. Hope y'all like it.
