God’s Ruins, where countless gods and warriors fell to their death. It became a heaven of treasures and opportunities for all. For thousands of years, all races tried to force their way into the Legendary God’s Ruins but only a handful of them succeeded. Those who encountered fortunes became supreme under the heavens. And those who encountered misfortune never returned to tell the tale.
Inside God’s Ruins, in a shattered space, everything was filled with the rust of blood and metals, even the earth didn’t remain unharmed. As far as the eye could see, only bone fragments and corroded earth came into sight. Everything in this space had a similar condition—decayed bones, old and rusty metal and stones—everything except the unassuming secluded place to the north. Surrounded by piles of bones laid an area booming with vitality and in the middle of it, a red egg stood tall, covered in runes.
If one looked carefully, they would realize the runes were placed layer after layer. Those runes didn’t look disorganized, in fact, they all followed strict rules and arrangements. The red egg with countless runes didn’t look out of place and filled the lifeless area with the feeling of life and vitality. Just a single glance would give anyone a mystical vibe as if the egg came from the hands of Gods.
Suddenly, a crack formed on the egg. Soon more cracks spread across its surface. Strangely, the cracks avoided the runes and after a long process of thirty minutes, the egg finally separated into two pieces as a strange looking beast crawled out.
The beast looked like a wolf but not quite. It also had some resemblance of a dog, but not a dog either. The whole body of the beast was covered by a thick patch of small platinum furs. It looked extraordinary but it was only a normal beast. The wolf-like-beast wobbled a little before coming to stop, laying in the patch of grass, as it lost its conscious.
Minutes... Hours passed by in this space. The wolf pup finally showed signs of moving. It didn’t open its eyes, more like it couldn’t. Sniffing around, it slowly moved, before chomping upon the eggshell. Slowly but surely, the pup cleaned the remains—including the runes—which kept floating with the shell, even after separating into two parts.
The runes glowed for a brief moment before going silent inside the beast’s body. By the time the pup was finished, its body flashed twice. The strength of the pup increased exponentially from its initial powerless state. And it also grew in size. It didn’t wobble anymore and stood straight as the strange-yet-wolf-like pup opened its eyes, revealing a pair of ocean-like blue eyes. Unfortunately, this pair of mystical eyes didn’t contain any hint of intelligence. Only instinct.
The pup remained laid on the patch of grass while curiously glancing at its surroundings. It got an ominous feeling from this place. Only this patch of grass gave it a sense of security but the pup occasionally glanced at the southward direction. As if pulled by something it couldn’t stay put anymore.
It staggered at first, sometimes slipping down, sometimes its cute nose rubbed on the poll of grass, but the pup eventually got out of its ‘safe zone’. Slowly but surely it started to get better and better at walking. Not long after it started running, the speed got faster and faster before the figure of the pup even started to blur.
There were many obstacles on the pup’s path, like gigantic pieces of stones and piles of bones. The pup at first avoided them but the distance to its destination kept increasing. Then the simple-minded beast driven by its instinct took the straight path. Whatever stood in its way were climbed by it. But soon it encountered another problem, it couldn’t climb through branchy mountains.
The branchy mountains were made of bone. The bones were fragile and sometimes light touch could turn them into powder. Whenever the pup tried to pass through these mountains, they collapsed and mushed into fine powder.
With its stumpy paws, it couldn’t stand straight on the mountain of bone powder, and it had to drag its paws on the sand-like-dusty-bones, exhausting its energy faster. The wolf pup born a few hours ago didn’t know what exhaustion was but it felt its body going heavier. And if this continued, the pup probably wouldn’t even be able to stand properly.
This filled the pup with a weird feeling. It didn’t want to stop. It didn’t want to feel weak. The feeling of weakness frightened it. The pup ran faster and faster. Soon it learned to jump. Although it couldn’t avoid the bone mountains through jumping, if it jumped fast enough, it could get away from the bone piles before they turned to powder. And so it did.
It ran for hours. Not willing to stop. Not willing to let the exhaustion to slow itself down, the pup continued. Its body kept getting heavier. At a point, the pup couldn’t run anymore, but it kept dragging its stumpy paws. It didn’t wish to feel weak. It didn’t like the feeling of being powerless. So it kept moving. Until it couldn’t move anymore. Finally, losing consciousness the pup dropped flat on the ground.
The body of the unconsciousness beast flashed brilliantly once again before dimming down.
Time passed by, the pup opened its blue eyes. In front of it appeared a pyramid, made of white and gray skeletons. The skeleton pyramid reached hundreds of meters in height and the width couldn’t be estimated from one side. Even after such a long time, some skeletons still exuded powerful energy. The skeletons varied from size to size but all had a single similarity, they all had at least one of their hands lifted towards the sky as if trying to grab hold of something.
Certainly before passing out the pup achieved its goal. And reached the destination it was being pulled towards. The pup with unyielding will refused to give up, or even faint before accomplishing its goal.
The feeling of weakness and heaviness already disappeared. In fact, the pup felt more energetic, but the dumb beast only felt relief that the weird feeling disappeared. Not even trying to think why did that feeling appear in the first place. And whether it would come again or not...
Above the thousands of bone and varied types of skeletons, floated a glowing light of purple color. The light wasn’t too intense, it might not even hurt anyone if they looked at it from a close distance. Yet the source of glow couldn’t be seen. It gave off a gentle yet unnatural feeling. Anyone would feel the enticement to possess this item from hundreds of miles away.
It wasn’t that this light called the wolf pup specifically but the pup’s instinct felt the enticement for this item from far away. Strong desire and greed took over the dumb pup’s eyes and it started climbing the stairs made by skeletons but just as the beast stood on top of a skeleton, the skeleton turned into fine powder.
Like a chain reaction, many others fell on top of the pup. In no time, it was buried inside a pile of bone powder.
Immediately the pup jumped out. Fortunately, it closed its eyes in time. And not many skeletons fell on top, else, this might’ve been its grave.
The pup warily glared at the pile of bone powder. Then its eyes shined. That’s right! The pup realized it could use the same method it used to avoid falling in the bone mountains. This time, however, it would use this method to climb up!
Distancing itself from the pyramid of bones, the beast jumped after building enough momentum. Immediately the pup flew a few meters high and like an invincible king-kong wherever it stepped, came destruction!
The beast kept jumping non-stop until it reached the peak of the bone pyramid. It didn’t remain unhurt in the process.
Not all the skeletons were fragile. Some in the top-middle were different. They didn’t turn to fine powder with just a touch. In fact, some were as hard metal. There were even those sharp fingers, those bony fingers were sharper than the sharpest daggers. Like a hot knife, they cut through hardest metals like butter.
If the beast didn’t have its eyes filled with desire on this glow, it probably wouldn’t even think about climbing this pyramid. Small and big wounds filled its body. The beast experienced its first injury. Ironically all caused by its own foolish actions and... from dried bones.
While blood dripped from its bloody flesh and paws, the beast reached the top of the pyramid. The heart of the beast beat wildly as it neared the purple glow in the sky. Fear? Anxiousness? Excitement? The beast didn’t know any of those feelings. But its heart beat furiously. It knew it had to possess that glow of light. And so it did.
Without hesitation, the pup jumped into the glow of purple light... Instantly, the world of the pup turned purple. It kept its eyes open but even though the light directly touched its eyes, it didn’t hurt but it couldn’t see anything either.
A hard feeling transmitted to the pup’s brain through the paws. Without caring about anything, the pup bit the edge of the hard item tightly. Unwilling to let it go. The blood from the countless small and big wounds flowed onto the item. Strangely enough, the blood didn’t slip out of the glowing sphere.
The purple glow suddenly grew brighter and brighter. It even started to hurt the pup’s eyes even when they were closed. A strong purple light shot through hundreds of meters high in the sky and—
—the glow of light completely disappeared.
The pup opened its eyes only to find itself flying towards the skull of skeletons. And, it collided nose first with the skeleton. Instantly being buried inside a mountain of bone powder.
Fortunately, due to the force of the jump being blocked by the ‘hard item’, the pup fell a little distance away from the middle. And also a bit far from the edge of the bone pyramid, else, its fate would have been unknown. The bone powder slowly slid below from the cracks of other bones. Luckily, it found a footing on a hard skeleton. It didn’t move but looked around. A flash of intelligence flew past the beast’s eyes, but sadly it was only for a moment. Many information invaded its head like a dam breaking. But the foolish beast couldn’t understand any bit of it. Nor did the pup care, it only searched for the glowing.
Even after looking around, the wolf pup failed to find the glowing light anymore. The beast had yet another strange feeling. As if it possessed the item and at the same time, it didn’t.
Anger boiled inside its heart.
Once again, the pup had no idea why this feeling came but it felt this feeling made itself stronger. And at this same time, this feeling gave birth to more emotions. Fear. It feared to lose control of itself out of anger. The pup growled. As if it had its mate stolen by another beast. And it wanted nothing more than chewing that beast’s bone. Not that it understood such complex feelings but it did what it wanted to.
AWOoooooOO!
The pup faced the gray sky and howled.
After thousands of years, the silent battlefield was shaken by the howl of this wolf-like-beast. The howl demonstrated its owner’s anger and dominance. It wanted to express its domination over the treasure. It was an instinctive desire of this beast. But the howl also caused another reaction...
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The pyramid, made from thousands of experts skeletons, finally couldn’t hold on any longer. Like a domino effect, the skeletons fell one after another. The pup instinctively felt it could only gain the glowing item again if it didn’t get itself buried in this pile of bone powder. And so the pup jumped and left the now-breaking-pyramid of skeletons behind.
Crack! Crack!
BOOM!
The glorious pyramid of countless warriors, a proof of destructive battle, that stood tall and mighty for thousands of years finally perished under the howl of one measly beast.
But the pup wasn’t willing to give up either. It had to get back its glowing treasure. Before the bone powder settled, the desperate pup already dove inside. It was not willing to go back without its glowing treasure.
It’s been a month since the destruction of the skeleton pyramid. The bone powders that took another pyramid shape, were now scattered in different places and shapes. If someone looked carefully they would found a few complete skeletons here and there.
Suddenly, a fluffy but dirty wolf pup popped out of a small disorderly shaped mountain. It was the strange wolf-yet-dog-like beast but now, its feature looked sharper and leaned towards a platinum furred wolf. The wolf pup jumped back and growled.
Grr-
The layer of bone powders scattered slowly and a standing skeleton could be seen. This skeleton had complete form and it had a different vibe from the other skeletons. If noticed carefully, one would know this skeleton was situated in the middle of previously bone skeleton pyramid.
The skeleton stood still, its skeleton arms spread wide and the palms of the hand spread towards the sky along with the head of the skeleton. As if the skeleton was looking at something with expectations. But it couldn’t be felt anymore and only the hollow look of the skeleton remained.
Even so, it was easy to understand the skeleton was looking towards the glowing purple sphere of light in the sky, which didn’t exist there anymore. A pitch-black dagger was stabbed inside the left chest of the skeleton. It even pierced the skeleton’s rib bones that look indestructible and—
—a golden sphere of light, similar to the purple sphere but much smaller, floated inside the skeleton.
At last, The pup found its glowing treasure. It had a different color but to the foolish and unintelligent beast, it was more tempting. For the last month, it kept digging through the mountains of bones. The pup fainted many times. Due to exhaustion and hunger. But none of those mattered anymore.
The wolf pup wanted nothing more than to jump and take back its treasure from this despicable skeleton. Yet, it didn’t. Even though it was still foolish, the pup’s sense and instinct got sharper. The dagger gave it a feeling of danger. Even those pointy looking fingers weren’t safe either. After trying multiple ways, the pup failed to destroy the bones. It was straight like a statue, not even moving a bit.
But who was this mighty beast? It was none other than the most foolish creature who didn’t have the word ‘giving up’ in its dictionary... That’s considering whether this beast had a dictionary in the first place.
Since anything didn’t work, it took the most primitive way. Using the pelvis as a pivotal point, the pup jumped inside the ribcage. And with a single gulp, the small sphere light got sucked inside the pup’s body. Everything was good upto this point, but when the pup’s body tilted back, the black dagger which barely remained stuck on the skeleton, fell and pierced on the pup’s small body.
The pup’s body went limp and it howled in pain and anguish. A few drops of black blood dripped occasionally as a black fog spewed out of the dagger. The dagger itself was small and didn’t even harm the pup’s vitals but it damaged more than the countless injuries the wolf suffered in the last month...
The dagger, Goddess’ Jealousy, which even killed gods, let out a chilling glare. Even a graze from this dagger could kill powerful warriors. The pup, however, didn’t die.
Not because the pup had any special power but rather, the golden light of eaten by it started a fierce war against the power of the black dagger. The black fog destroyed cells by cells and the golden light regenerated the cells and at the same time, pushed back the dark fog.
The black dagger might be a divine weapon, but it was nowhere to its prime glory. Not only that, to utilize a treasure’s power it needs the support from its user which the said dagger lacked, diminishing its power immensely.
The beast whimpered in pain. It staggered while moving away from the skeleton and moved towards the familiar topography. It howled countless times but could do nothing against the painful war in its body. After hours of running and staggering, the pup finally returned to its safe zone.
It was unknown whether it was because of the pain or the homesick feeling the pup felt with this place, drops of tears fell from its eyes. The war between golden light and the black fog finally concluded and the abundant golden light achieved the final victory.
Even though the fight between golden and black energy concluded. It didn’t end without any consequence. A drop of golden and black blood was left behind in the deepest part of its bloodstream as the dagger also dissolved into the pup’s body...
Returning to its sweet home, the pup relaxed. All the pain and exhaustion attacked at once and the beast once again passed out.
The wolf pup’s body glowed golden as every pores and muscle were filled with golden energy. But most of the energy rushed to the pup’s head. The golden energy changed the whole body structure of the wolf. Although the change couldn’t be seen from the ***** eye, the small beast definitely changed. The body size that grew over the month also shrunk. Anyone would think this pup was harmless, and indeed, it was harmless... At least now, before it understood the rule of this world, the wolf pup was harmless.
At that time, the wolf pup wasn’t the only thing glowing, even the ground glowed golden...
---------
After an unknown amount of time, the wolf pup once again woke up from its familiar nap.
Even the foolish pup now understood exhaustion over the course of this month. If it moved too much or didn’t rest, it would exhaust itself to sleep.
Growl~
It wasn’t the pup that growled. It’s stomach did.
Exhaustion didn’t cause fear in the pup anymore. Something else did. Hunger did. Even the rebellious and unyielding wolf pup had to cower before the mighty hunger. It felt its existence insignificant and trivial in front of the Great Hunger. Sadly though, it had nothing to extinguish its hunger. Only when it tired itself out or fell asleep, did the feeling of hunger mysteriously disappear.
When the pup faints, the remnant energy of the red eggshell supplied with never-ending energy. Filling its body with vitality and quenched its hunger at the same time. Now, even that seemingly inexhaustible energy was used to heal its heavily injured body.
The Mighty Hunger was still in its dormant state. That’s right until the mighty hunger remained in its dormant state, the invincible pup could suppress it. It was possible to suppress it, until, the mighty hunger awakened. And when it awakened, only the pitiful pup could be seen.
Oddly today the pup felt different. No, it didn’t feel overpowered enough to think it could defeat the mighty hunger yet, but the power in its body made it feel invincible. Not that the pup knew what this feeling meant, but it was good nonetheless.
Next, it noticed the change of its surroundings. The circle made by the patch of grass remained the same, yet outside the patch, everything looked different. Rather than the barren plain, there were uneven hills and mountains filled with patches of grass and trees. Everything looked full of vitality and strength. Unintentionally the pup drooled. The pup didn’t know why but seeing this strange place its mouth watered incessantly. How did it come here, and why, was such a thing something to think? Maybe, but definitely not for the pup.
The pup wanted to move and explore this unknown region, but couldn’t. Green and Golden color vines covered its body. The old dry and fresh blood everything was absorbed by the vines and even coiled the pup. The pup became hot-headed. Did these measly vines wanted to hinder its, the Great pup’s, adventure?
Unforgivable!
The pup turned its head and multiple green and gold vines appeared in its vision. Opening its maw, the pup bit on the vines and growled threateningly.
The vines shook as if they had life. The remaining vines that were left of retreated quickly but the same couldn’t be said for the rest. The angered mighty pup dragged them while growling. Two big bowl-sized flowers—one green and one golden—were dragged out of the bush. Those could only be described as giant flowers from the tiny pup’s view, but the pup didn’t back off. Instead, it growled with more power and bit the vines harder.
Then something strange happened. The vines including the big flowers glowed for a moment. The vines in the pup’s maw suddenly disappeared. The giant flowers became two glows of green and golden light before they flew into the pup’s body. The pup growled to its left and right and looked triumphant for a moment before falling into a state of deep contemplation.
The weird sensation on its tongue. When the pup bit on the vines some fluids—something which the pup never knew of—touched its tongue. The pup who feared hunger instinctively understood, this could be that something it was searching for defeating the wretched and domineering hunger.
But the pup’s contemplation was soon interrupted. A wolf, twenty times bigger than the pup, entered the pup’s vision. The pup and the wolf stared at each other with curiosity. Soon, they rushed towards the other but the pup felt something was weird here.
Although it couldn’t see its appearance, the pup could still see its back, tail, and paws. The pup rushed at the big wolf feeling a bit attached. It was the first beast the pup found and it also looked similar to itself. Though, the same couldn’t be said for the big wolf. It had a crazed look. As if the wolf found the easiest prey in the world.
The pup felt a different feeling in its chest. It was not anger. Something not likable. The look on the wolf’s eyes that clearly showed it was looking down on the pup, filled it with a complex feeling. The feeling of disgust.
As the pup was almost before the wolf, the giant wolf opened its jaws and bit on the pup. With its large mouth, one bite was enough to end the pup. But the expected feeling of soft meat and blood didn’t reach the wolf’s throat.
Although the pup was small, it went through many times of strengthening. The blood-red eggshell and the golden glowing orb, and multiple times of strengthening. The pup wasn’t comparable to what it was after being born. It took advantage of its small body and slipped past the large jaws aimed at itself.
Maybe following how the wolf used its jaws to bite at itself, the pup also opened its jaws and bit on the thing that came to its vision first. If the pup knew what it bit after half a year, it would first be disgusted by its own action and then feel sorry for the poor wolf.
The unexpected pain in the most unexpected place almost blackened the wolf’s vision. Never in its life did the giant wolf experience pain in that place after its first experience, when it messed up and entered the wrong hole. It growled with rage.
Grrrr-
It was his precious family jewel. He still had to find more mates and spread his seed. Now it might even fail to enter his mate’s entrance. Just by thinking this made him see everything in red.
But at that time, the changes didn’t occur in the giant wolf alone. When the pup bit on the giant wolf’s family jewel and pulled on it, blood sprayed on its mouth. It was an unknown taste. It was warm and to the pup, the taste of blood was almost heavenly. That taste awakened something inside the pup at that time. An aura. A threatening Aura. The aura of a natural predator. Something the beast was unaware of before, spread out of its body.
The giant wolf also noticed the change, but it didn’t back away. The wolf before it was clearly a similar species and also a pup. His pride as the Alpha didn’t let it back away. But it became cautious. The hint of pity in its eyes wasn’t there anymore and it didn’t look at the pup as an easy target like it did before.
The giant wolf was cautious to move but the pup wasn’t. The taste of blood had already enamored its vision. It wanted nothing more than drinking the wolf’s blood.
The pup turned into a silver flash and before the big wolf could move, it already sank its jaws in the wolf’s throat. Although the pup had smaller fang, their sharpness surpassed the big wolf by a few times.
The bite definitely injured the wolf, but it was not life-threatening. The pup’s fangs were too short to enter deep in its throat. This relieved the big wolf a bit. He would end this pup and eat its meat and crystal. The soft meat would definitely have the finest taste.
The wolf used its sharper claws of its front leg to slash on the pup. But it overlooked one thing. It was the pup’s defense. The sharp claws failed to penetrate the platinum fur and bronze-like skin. Another thing the wolf overlooked was the pup’s overbearing strength. The pup’s jaw indeed failed to penetrate deep but it was another thing if strength was added behind those sharp fangs.
With a hard pull, it tore through the wolf’s throat. In a split second when blood flowed out of the wolf’s throat, the pup once again jumped, and this time bit with all its strength.
Crack!
A bone-crunching sound echoed before the body of the wolf went limp. The pup didn’t let go as warm blood flowed down to its throat.
Hunger, no more!
On a flat mountain top, a platinum furred wolf-pup laid lavishly.
One might wonder how a wolf, or rather a pup lay lavishly and also on a mountain. They might not ask the same question if they saw this scene.
Different colored magic crystal sprawled around the ground and on a small bed of crystals laid the pup. Even in its sleep, it chewed on a thick and long yellow crystal.
This valley was a fearsome place to countless existence but to the pup, it was simply heaven. The mountain itself was full of vitality. And housed creatures like itself. Although those creatures were tiny existence to its current tiny self, they gave him crystals which contained an unbelievable amount of energy. The taste even surpassed the flavor of blood! It was simply godly.
In the last three months, the pup killed countless different species. It learned many things. The red-shelled weird looking creature that had ten legs (Crab) and huge strength but was extremely slow. Normal attacks hardly fazed them but their sticking eyes and joint of shells were its weak points. Their meat was especially juicy. There were also creatures which had powerful offense but weak defense but the pup also encountered the opposite.
Suddenly, the pup perked its eyes and glared at the north direction. Something dared to enter its territory, unforgivable! The pup claimed the mountain as its own territory. For the last week, no creature dared to approach this mountain but now, the pup detected a feeble presence.
Infuriated, the pup ran at the presence, the crystal still stuck to its mouth. Rather than a mighty wolf, it looked more like a dog-pup with a bone sticking out of its mouth.
This yellow bone... crystal was found by the pup, not acquired by hunting. It was five times the normal-sized crystals and the energy inside it was also purer. In fact, this mountain valley was filled with different types of treasures. Some were consumables like a small grass that contained powerful spiritual energy, while the others had sharp edges and a hard body. The foolish pup tried but failed to eat those hard things so out of option, they were hidden inside its stash. Which was hidden in a not so obvious way below the crystal bed.
Now returning to the offender, who dared to invade the arrogant-ish pup’s territory, looked extremely weird. The pup had become confused for many reasons. Firstly, the invader had a different body from anything it had seen so far. Secondly, it was extremely weak. Let alone danger, the pup couldn’t even feel anything from it.
Unlike the ugly and roguish creatures it had dealt with, the invader had heaven and earth difference. It had a slim body and walked on its two long slim legs. It also had two mounds of flesh sticking out which almost looked out of proportion, but also had a charming beauty to it. It didn’t have fur on its body but had different looking skin from others. The skin of this two-legged creature was mixed with a variety of colors. In some places, it had white, soft and tender looking skin. On the other, it had black and yellowish skin. This creature indeed didn’t have any fur on its whole body but had loooonng furs on top of its head. And the invader was currently inspecting the familiar patch of grass that the pup found after waking up.
As weak as it might be, the creature must have its bigger ones, as it encountered before. No weak creatures could survive in this region without backing. Even the dumb pup understood such a thing.
It cautiously approached the two-legged strange creature.
Grrr-
The threatening sound attracted the invader’s attention. It had an amused expression in its black void-like eyes. Even the wild pup—who never knew of beauty—thought those black gem-like eyes were beautiful and had desires to possess them.
“Eh, strange. What kind of wolf are you?” questioned the two-legged creature in a voice that the pup never heard before. It was unknown whether the strange creature was asking the beast or itself.
“I am here to find the cause of the spatial disturbance, but... this is intriguing... Are you related somehow?” The creature paced towards the pup.
The pup growled in return. However, it did nothing to stop the invader’s advance.
Once again, the pup had become perplexed. Normally, any creatures that went this close would aggressively charge but this creature had not even a hint of hostility in its eyes or aura. This unfamiliar situation caused the pup’s action to lag. It attacked any beast that showed hostility. And those that cowered in fear, it just bullied them before killing and looting their crystals. This situation had a vast difference to those.
The creature crouched down before the pup. Neither of them had any hostility towards the other. But the pup had absolute advantage. The delicate two-legged-creature in front of it was too weak. Even one strike from the pup might kill the frail creature.
“Hmm~” her voice like a melody, relaxed the pup’s vigilance. Grabbing its small body, the creature rested the pup on the sticking mounds of flesh. “Oh, look at you. Is that an Earth Dragon’s Crystal? With your current power you can’t defeat one. You seem lucky too, what are you, really...”
While the creature carefully checked out the pup, the latter felt its body melting in the two mounds of soft flesh. The pup jerked its head to remove the foreign yet comfortable feeling.
The two-legged creature still looked at itself with curious eyes. The mighty pup must remain vigilant! But the feeling was so comfortable...
No, the pup once again dispersed those distracting feelings by staring at the creature. It’s black eyes looked at itself. Suddenly, those gem-like eyes gleamed with golden color. The golden halo with the pearl-like eyes looked divine and beautiful. It’s easy for anyone to get lost in their splendor but the pup felt goosebumps all over its whole body, as if every inch of its body was being separated layer by layer.
Grrr-
Growling, the pup let go of the yellow, Earth Dragon Crystal and bit one of the two soft mounds of flesh. What happened next left the pup wide-eyed.
The full-powered bite only pierced through the creature’s yellow skin and no matter how much the pup struggled, the pup couldn’t leave a mark. Looking at its wound the pup realized, below the thin yellow skin was another layer of white skin. And no matter how much force the pup used, nothing had any effect!
The pup looked back at the creature’s face. It looked unfazed and kept concentrating on the pup.
Fear crept from deep inside the pup’s heart. For the first time, the pup admitted it feared something other than the almighty hunger, and it couldn’t even struggle.
“...Hmmm~ how peculiar. I can’t see through this measly pup. Aside from it being a platinum-ranked pup, I can’t find anything else. It also ranked up to Platinum-ranked rather than being one from birth. Eh, your luck defies heaven, rogue.”
The strange creature curiously analyzed the pup. The fact astounded its proud and experienced self that it couldn’t see through a measly wild dog.
But the judged pup felt otherwise. Although it couldn’t understand what this strange creature said, it surely felt this frail-looking angel-like creature looked down on its mighty self.
“Looking at your behavior you also unlocked your intelligence! You already have 8 star potential! Too bad, you’re not compatible with me...” The mighty pup couldn’t bear her foreign elegant language anymore and once again, like a savage brute bit on the lamb’s soft meat... however, the result didn’t change, “Oh my~ look at you, you must be an alpha to even bare your fangs towards my pure body... Mmm~ should I punish you?”
The creature felt amused by the pup’s action. If this was some intelligent being who tried to molest its proud body, maybe they would even fail to enter the circle of reincarnation properly.
“Forget it, maybe I can give you to Ye Hou. You might be compatible with her, and I will also be able to keep tabs on you... Let’s form a contract for now, I’ll pass on the crystal to her...”
The creature once again uttered some nonsense but it filled the pup with a feeling of dread. Following his—since it couldn’t be called ‘it’ anymore—sense of dread, a crystal entered the pup’s vision. The creature skillfully started drawing something on the pup’s head with its graceful fingers. Simultaneously, the pup felt anxious to get away.
“Aih, why are you resisting now? Weren’t you looking comfortable just now?” Thinking something the creature exclaimed, “Eh, you don’t want to be contracted? It’s true that you are lucky and all, but you won’t be able to grow in knowledge or prowess if you stay here. You might even fail to become a Holy Beast and forever remain a measly beast. For such a thing to happen, it would be a pity...”
Not like the pup understood those words and neither did he care, but he fell into a huge predicament! This meaty bed was definitely more comfortable than the hard crystal bed he made. While he was reluctant to leave, he refused to stake his freedom. So the pup resolutely jumped out from the clutch of those two humongous soft beds and ran back towards its hard crystal bed.
The two-legged creature looked back and forth to the patch of grass and now-running-away-pup. Sighing, it momentarily decided to momentarily forget about the pup. No matter how much the pup tried, he couldn’t get too far anyway. It decided to take the pup after everything was taken care of.
The pup spared no effort to hide its treasures before running away from the mountain faster than the wind. The two-legged creature was too strong. Although it looked frail as a leaf and graceful as the wind, it’s might had no bounds. Definitely the best choice was to run away. As for how far, the pup had no idea. He just ran after changing direction to his left every once in a while.
After a long time, the frail two-legged creature appeared in front of the running pup, and before the pup could change his path or run away, he found himself hanging in mid-air.
“Look at you, running in a circle for six hours. Don’t you ever get tired?”
Shockingly enough, the pup who had zero knowledge about terrain and lands circled around the mountain for the whole six hours.
Wwoo
The pup whimpered. He was grabbed from the back of his neck, no matter how he resisted, he failed to exert any strength. To think the mighty, unyielding pup would encounter such a day, he almost couldn’t believe the absurdity of this situation!
“I’ve changed my mind, you are too foolish to be taught anything.” said the creature, unhappy.
Shoving the wolf pup on the meaty bump of flesh, the creature flew in the sky. The pup gawked as he saw his point of view going up and up. By now if this was any other creature they might have thought of giving up, knowing its useless. But who was this pup?
