“Where am I? Didn’t I burn to death?”
Yang Dingtian found himself in a completely foreign world. He was in a cave, a particularly deep cave. Crystal-clear ice covered every inch.
He had been in the female teacher’s dormitory in Shui Mu University a few minutes earlier having sex with his stunning girlfriend and teacher, Li Bijun. When they reached climax, his entire body had been boiling hot. It then ignited, and he lost consciousness from the excruciating pain.
By the time he woke up, he was already in this strange cave.
Yang Dingtian turned twenty this year and was a sophomore student. His dad was a huge fan of Jin Yong, so he gave him a domineering name like Yang Dingtian.
(TL note: Jin Yong is a Chinese novelist who was known for his wuxia novels. Yang Dingtian’s name, Dingtian, roughly translates to “against the heavens” or “on top of the heavens”, which carries quite a domineering meaning in Chinese. Another meaning for “Ding” is “Poke” so this may lead others to think in an erotic way…)
He was fairly attractive, intelligent, sensitive, kind, and a little mischievous. His strength was due to the vigorous Yang Fire within him. Since he was young, he had never been afraid of the cold and could even stand temperatures of ten below zero degrees Celsius dressed in just a shirt. He never gained a single pound no matter how much he ate and had a huge appetite.
Of course, these weren’t bad things. Even so, his parents had brought him to countless doctors, and they all came to the same conclusion. Despite being underweight, he was perfectly healthy.
A sloppy Daoist priest traveling to the west came across Yang Dingtian when the latter was eight years old. Astonished, he said, “I never thought that the legendary Nine Yang Body actually existed.”
The priest had told Yang Dingtian that the Yang Fire in his Nine Yang Body exceeded others by several times. He could never have sex or even masturbate because of it. Even if he abstained from all sexual activities, his Yang Fire would likely still consume him before he turned twenty-five.
Yang Dingtian’s family believed the Daoist priest had lied, so they just ignored him.
Yang Dingtian began to realize things were getting worse as he went through puberty. Whenever he lusted after a girl in real life, photos, or videos, a vigorous flame would burn within him, and his body temperature would skyrocket.
The situation only got more intense. Yang Dingtian first dated and caressed a girl when he was eighteen. He fainted with a fever burning over 42 degrees Celsius that peaked in less than a minute. His girlfriend had been so frightened that she screamed and called an ambulance which fortunately saved his life.
Only then did Yang Dingtian recall the Daoist priest warning him against sexual activities.
His first masturbation attempt proved that the priest might have been speaking the truth.
Yang Dingtian never tried to have sex before he turned twenty. He couldn’t hold it in any longer. His girlfriend was so sexy that she had obliterated his defenses. On the night of his birthday, she finally broke through his last line of defense with the help of alcohol, drugs, eroticism, and lust. They had begun a steamy session in bed.
The outcome proved the Daoist priest right. Yang Dingtian, possessing the Nine Yang Body, really did ignite as he attempted physical intimacy. His father seemed able to predict the future when he gave him his name. Yang Dingtian really had the name Yang…, Ding Tian.
(TL note: Can be interpreted as going to heaven.)
Just when Yang Dingtian had burned to nothingness, lost consciousness, and fell into endless darkness, he woke to find himself in a completely unfamiliar environment. He was deep within an ice cave.
“Where the hell is this place?” Yang Dingtian shrank slightly. He couldn’t believe he actually felt the cold. He had absolutely no clue what it felt like to be cold growing up. He did now.
“Could this be an arctic cave?” Yang Dingtian asked himself. It truly was like the North Pole because he had never felt cold even when it was twenty to thirty degrees below zero in his north-eastern hometown. It had to be at least fifty to sixty below zero here.
Yang Dingtian climbed to his feet, *****, as he began to explore the cave. He couldn’t wrap his head around inexplicably showing up here rather than burning to death. He probably would have frozen to death in just a few minutes if he hadn’t possessed the Nine Yang Body.
The cave looked hopelessly deep with only a sliver of sky visible. It must have been bright outside. The rays of light passed through the small hole and reflected off the ice to illuminate the entire cave.
Yang Dingtian could tell that the cave was at least a thousand meters deep. The smooth, vertical walls would be impossible to scale without tools.
The bottom of the cave was only roughly a hundred square meters in area, something that Yang Dingtian could easily explore in a couple of steps. He desperately searched for an exit or a secret door, but he only found more ice after a long search. There was nothing behind or beneath the ice either, not even stone or soil. There was just more ice.
“Oh My God! How am I supposed to get out of here? This horrid place doesn’t even have food. I’ll starve to death in a few days.” Yang Dingtian dejectedly sat on the ice. He didn’t have his mobile phone because he was *****. There probably wouldn’t be a signal even if he had it.
He stood again shortly and shouted towards the sky, “Someone! Help! Is there anyone out there?”
Yang Dingtian yelled a dozen times, but not even an animal showed up at the hole.
He sat against an icicle.
“I wonder how Bijun is right now. Did she burn with me?” Yang Dingtian thought of his girlfriend and English teacher in sorrow.
Later, he reluctantly searched the cave again as he wondered if Bijun had transmigrated with him.
Clearly, it was impossible for Li Bijun to be present because the cave was empty.
“Dad, look at the bloody name you gave me. It’s just far too overbearing, and I can’t stand it.” Yang Dingtian thought of his father, Jin Yong’s hard-core fan, as well as his unreasonable and strict mother. They’d probably already heard of his death. He wondered how sad they were.
He looked back through the hole to the sky and sighed. “How can I get out of this horrible cave?”
Suddenly, he was dazzled. The sun had arrived above the cave, and it forced him to squint.
Yang Dingtian opened his eyes swiftly, frozen from shock. What he had seen had been so distressing, even horrific, that he jolted to his feet
There were two suns in the sky. There were actually two suns!
Yang Dingtian thought he had seen wrong or that it had been a hallucination. He rubbed his eyes hard to clear them.
No mistake. There were two suns. One was significantly larger than the other. One was also significantly brighter than the other.
“Oh My God! This isn’t Earth. Earth only has one sun, but there are two here. W-where the hell is this place then? An alien planet? A different world?”
“Have I leaped through time? Have I actually leaped through time and space?”
Yang Dingtian collapsed on the ice again. He felt the world spinning as though he were about to faint.
Other people transmigrated through electric shocks, disasters, being struck by lightning, or through plane crashes which were the most common premises behind transmigration. Only he, Yang Dingtian, had nearly burned to death and leaped through time while in the middle of having sex. This method of time travel was unprecedented.
“Dad, look at this bloody name you gave to your son! Yang Dingtian! What a domineering name it is! I wasn’t fortunate enough to enjoy this name, yet it sent me to another world!
********************
“Farewell, mom and my dad, farewell my friends, and farewell Earth!”
“Mom and dad, don’t be too heartbroken. You’re both still young, so perhaps you can have another child.”
“Bijun, you probably burned to death with me, so we could be considered lovers that perished in a fire.”
Yang Dingtian leaned against the icicle in the center of the cave and finally accepted the fact that he had leaped through time and arrived in a different world. He suppressed his tears as he recalled the past.
“No, I can’t just continue grieving like this. Time-travelers in novels achieve great success. I can’t just die of starvation after leaping through time.” Yang Dingtian stood up. He wanted to find a way out.
In the end, he struggled for several hours and failed to scale even half a foot up the walls. The ice was far too slippery and hard. There was nothing he could do. He looked for a way out again, but the results were no different.
The shock and sorrow from the last few hours coupled with the struggle exhausted him. He returned to the middle of the cave and leaned against the icicle again, resting while he thought of another way out.
He only planned to rest for a while, but he ended up falling asleep.
It was fortunate that he possessed the rare Nine Yang Body. He had accumulated Yang Fire in his body for nearly two dozen years, and only a little had leaked out when he had sex with Li Bijun back on Earth. He barely felt cold as he slept ***** in the frigid cave. It would be impossible for him to freeze.
Yang Dingtian’s hunger woke him a while later. His constitution required more food than that of ordinary people, and it was agonizing after several dozen hours without eating.
There was only ice in this hell. There was no food.
Yang Dingtian stood again and found the two suns appearing in the hole above the cave. He had slept for at least a whole day, but he was unsure how long that was in this world.
After standing up, Yang Dingtian noticed that the icicle behind him was a little different.
His stove-like body had melted most of it away over the ten hours he’d slept near it.
He wasn’t surprised. The crystal-blue icicle had become more transparent as it melted, and there seemed to be something inside it.
There was something inside the icicle?!
Time (Part 2)
There was something inside the icicle?!
Yang Dingtian excitedly rushed for a closer look. He still couldn’t see it clearly. This was the only piece of ice that was blue, rather than transparent, in the entire cave. Although Yang Dingtian had melted a large portion, it still wasn’t clear enough to see through.
Yang Dingtian wrapped himself around the icicle and began to tremble. He would have frozen by now if his Nine Yang body weren’t as hot as a stove.
He got colder and colder until he could barely stand it.
He hugged the icicle just like that for a couple of hours, taking a short break every half hour. The icicle melted inch by inch. As Yang Dingtian got closer to the core, it grew agonizingly cold.
Yang Dingtian shivered continually after five hours, and he nearly blacked out for a moment. He was tenacious despite knowing that being wrapped around the ice for so long would risk his life. Yang Dingtian had a strong character, and he would never give up until he achieved his goals.
“There’s a person inside?” Yang Dingtian was ecstatic. Finally, the icicle had almost completely melted, and it was crystal-clear.
It was odd to find a person frozen in a thousand-meter deep cave.
The ice had a white-haired old man with a beard as tangled as weeds inside. His true age seemed impossible to judge under all the wrinkles. He looked like an old dirty beggar, though his clothes weren’t torn. His exposed hands were thin and dry like a dead tree’s branches. He had a gloomy aura.
Yang Dingtian found it disappointing that this person could have been frozen and dead for a long time. The reason he was sealed in the ice remained unknown.
Eventually, Yang Dingtian decided to get the old man out of the ice although he might already be dead by now.
Yang Dingtian endured the cold that spread deep down into his bones and hugged the cold icicle that he was terrified of that his entire body started shivering.
Towards the end, this melting mission really challenges one’s determination towards the extent where the ice cold feeling can no longer be described by words. Finally, Yang Dingtian couldn’t stand it that he blacked out and nearly fainted.
“Crakkk…”Just right before he fainted, there was a cracking sound. The final layer of the ice that was covering the old man has cracked completely that the huge thick icicle had disappeared.
The piercing cold was gone and Yang Dingtian gradually regained his heat energy. The only thing was that he couldn’t move at the moment. Yang Dingtian lay on the old man just like that, smelling the old man’s indecent smell. Though it wasn’t extremely smelly, it was sufficient to make a person uncomfortable.
Suddenly! The old man that was right in front of him opened his eyes! Yang Dingtian was frightened.
Was he faking his death? Wasn’t he already dead?
Just then, this gloomy old man stuck out his thin, dry hands and strangled Yang Dingtian ‘s neck. His long nails were as of sharp knives poking through his major arteries. His eyes looked cold and lost while his old face was filled with anger. He shouted something at Yang Dingtian.
His voice was so sharp that it sounded like the knife scratching the wall. However, Yang Dingtian couldn’t understand a single word he just said. It was a language that Yang Dingtian had never come across.
The old man became extremely angry when Yang Dingtian did not respond to him. He then repeated what he said previously, but this time, it sounded like he was forcefully questioning Yang Dingtian.
“I, I can’t even understand what you are talking about?” Yang Dingtian replied.
After listening to Yang Dingtian ‘s reply, he became excited and continued asking several questions. Then, he placed his old and ugly face closer to Yang Dingtian and questioned him non-stop. At that moment, his nails were deeply pierced into Yang Dingtian ‘s neck.
Yang Dingtian instantly felt the pain and fresh blood dripped down from his neck. Yang Dingtian had already used up all of his energy and couldn’t even move at the moment.
Right then, the old man asked another question.
Yang Dingtian smiled painfully and said, “Old gentleman, I really really don’t understand what you are saying?”
The old man became angry again that he scratched Yang Dingtian ‘s neck again, instantly leaving a deep wound that exposed his flesh and caused him to bleed. Then, he undoubtedly asked something again. Yang Dingtian still couldn’t understand.
The old man got even angrier this time. He strangled Yang Dingtian and asked him again with a much colder tone.
Although Yang Dingtian couldn’t really understand what the old man was saying, he could roughly understand what he was trying to express. If he still refused to speak, he might end up being strangled to death by the old man.
Yang Dingtian instantly showed a bitter smile. “I risked my life to save you, and you are about to strangle me to death. Why did I even do this?”
The old man also couldn’t understand what Yang Dingtian was saying, but it was obvious that it wasn’t the answer that he was looking for. He let out a cruel laugh and then tightened his hands around Yang Dingtian’s neck even harder.
Yang Dingtian struggled to breathe. His eyes were protruding, and his tongue stuck out of his mouth. He barely managed to save the old man and was now about to be strangled to death. He didn’t even have the energy to regret.
“I can die but definitely not in this unexplained situation while feeling vexed. Yang Dingtian bit his teeth, not knowing where the energy came from. He raised his leg and kicked at the air randomly.
“Bang…..” He kicked the old man in the chest.
“Crakk…..” There was a clear sound of something breaking that resembled the sound of broken branches being stepped on. It was the old man’s ribs that had just broken from the kick. Yang Dingtian wasn’t that strong, but the old man’s bones were already so crisp and dry that they were broken easily from the kick. It seemed like the old man had used up his remaining strength to strangle Yang Dingtian. When he fell down due to the kick, Yang Dingtian was set free.
Yang Dingtian immediately stepped back and kept his distance far from the old man. Finally, he leaned back against the cave wall, gasping for air. He looked at the wounds on his body and cautiously kept his eyes on the terrifying old man.
Several wounds on his body had stopped bleeding, but he still felt the burning sensation. However, the cave was way too small so it was impossible to completely get away from this crazy old man.
Yang Dingtian wheezed while he recharged his energy, but his eyes never left the dangerous old man. He was no longer going to be polite if the old man attacked him again, Yang Dingtian thought.
But, after the old man was being kicked by Yang Dingtian, he spat out two mouthfuls of dark red blood. He tried to sit up straight using his hands, but he failed after many attempts, probably because his chest was deeply injured from the kick.
It seemed like he could only move his hands which was why he couldn’t sit up no matter how hard he tried.
After many attempts, the old man still failed. He became furious and started yelling. He kept hitting the ice on the ground with his hands angrily, and the wound on his chest worsened. He spat out some black blood from his mouth, causing his hands and the ice on the ground to turn bloody as well.
Then, he gave up, laid his back on the ice, and started yelling. Of course, Yang Dingtian couldn’t understand what he was yelling about, but it sounded full of hatred and grief that Yang Dingtian couldn’t help but be affected.
“This old man is also very pitiful.” Yang Dingtian felt a burst of sympathy.
In the end, the old man stopped yelling and just lay on the ice quietly without making a single sound. The broken ribs on his chest might have pierced into his flesh as his chest became swollen. At first, the old man was still breathing. One could see his chest move up and down. Then, it looked like he finally stopped breathing.
Although Yang Dingtian knew how dangerous it was, he still couldn’t hold back and walked over to the old man slowly.
Yang Dingtian gently prodded the old man with his foot from a distance, but there wasn’t any response. He then took another step forward and touched the old man’s neck artery. There was still a heartbeat, but it was already extremely weak.
Yang Dingtian went up and lifted the old man. Then, he unbuttoned his shirt to check out the wound on his chest.
His right chest ribs had broken after his kick. Two broken ribs could be seen clearly as he was as thin as a human stick with only a layer of skin covering his bones. One of the ribs had pierced into his flesh, and his right chest had swollen up a few inches. It appeared both green and purple, looking terrible.
Yang Dingtian used his vague first-aid knowledge to help the old man and barely managed to set the broken bones. Throughout the entire process, the old man had trembled several times due to the excruciating pain, but he didn’t wake up.
Fortunately, the two broken ribs did not break into many pieces. However, Yang Dingtian had a rough time adjusting his broken bones. In this snowy ice-cold place, Yang Dingtian exuded fine sweat.
Suddenly, Yang Dingtian ‘s eyes felt somewhat painful. All he could see was two long, sharp nails right in front of his eyes. The moment he moved a little, these two sharp nails would pierce straight into his eyeballs, blinding him completely.
He did not know when the old man had woken up. As soon as he met Yang Dingtian’s eyes, he let out a cruel laugh. At the moment, Yang Dingtian’s flesh and blood were still on those nails. Coupled with the old man’s cruel and brutal face, it became even creepier.
Yang Dingtian was so nervous that he held his breath, looked down, and continued adjusting the old man’s bones as if he didn’t know that the old man was about to make him blind.
However, both of his hands were trembling at the moment. Yang Dingtian took a deep breath and continued adjusting the old man’s broken bones once his hands stopped trembling.
He received nothing in return from such act. Instead, the old man gave him a cruel sneer as if he were laughing at Yang Dingtian’s cunning act.
Even so, Yang Dingtian ignored him and continued to treat the old man carefully.
The old man’s sharp nails slowly pierced into Yang Dingtian ‘s flesh just like a sharp knife piercing through millimeter by millimeter.
The nails had pierced through nearly a centimeter and had pierced the outer layer of skin. Soon, they would reach Yang Dingtian’s eyeballs.
Yang Dingtian made a fist with his right hand and was about to slam his fist at the old man’s broken bones to pierce through his heart and kill him once and for all.
However, the old man suddenly stopped and removed his nails from Yang Dingtian ‘s flesh. He closed his eyes and left everything to Yang Dingtian.
Yang Dingtian took a long deep breath, calmed his heart down, and continued treating the old man.
Finally, after he finished treating the broken ribs, Yang Dingtian carefully wrapped the wound with his clothes. Although it was not that gentle to the wound, there was no other choice as there wasn’t a single piece of wood in the cave.
After everything was done, Yang Dingtian kept his distance from the old man again. He sat down far away against the cave wall.
As for the dangerous old man, his eyes were completely closed, and he didn’t move.
The sky had turned dark by now. As the cave was too deep underground, Yang Dingtian looked up and only managed to see a palm-sized piece of the sky through the supposedly large cave hole.
At this moment, the moon had already risen up to the sky and was passing through the sky above Yang Dingtian’s head. However, he clearly saw two moons.
There was a quote written by Su DongBo that stated “wishing you a long life, even though we are miles apart.” It was sad that even the moon that Yang Dingtian was looking at was different from the moon that his parents would be looking at. What’s more, there were even two moons here.
(TL note: Su Dongbo was a famous Chinese writer.)
Yang Dingtian was tired and upset. He looked at the old man who was seated not far away. He was still sitting in the same position, eyes closed and motionless.
In this situation, there was nothing more to fear. Yang Dingtian slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Dozens of hours later, he woke up.
Yang Dingtian had wanted to get up and continue looking for a way to escape from the cave. However, he realized that he couldn’t stand up at all. A few consecutive days of starvation had completely drained all his energy. Similarly, the heat energy that had been stored in his body for years had been completely used up to rescue the old man from the icicle.
During these few days, Yang Dingtian had only drunk a few mouthfuls of ice-melted water. He hadn’t eaten even the slightest bit of food after having also lost a lot of blood. Though he wished to get up now, he had absolutely no energy left to do so.
At the moment, the sky out there was gloomy and filled with dark clouds as the sun had already set.
Soon, it began to snow, and fist-sized snowballs fiercely rained down from the sky. After a while, the cave floor was covered with a thick layer of snow. The old man’s entire body was also gradually being buried in snow. An hour later, he had become a snowman, his entire body no longer visible.
As the snow covering Yang Dingtian gradually thickened, his fiery body was soon no longer capable of melting the snow. In order to avoid being buried, Yang Dingtian shook his head hard. However, after a while, he was covered in snow again, and he had to shake his head again.
Once, twice, thrice….
In the end, Yang Dingtian no longer had the strength to even shake his head. The last trace of heat energy in his body had been consumed, and he could only watch as the snow covered him and whittled away at his life.
Suddenly, the snow covering the old man not far away vibrated. The old man had finally moved. He reached into his sleeves and pulled out something red and threw it towards Yang Dingtian.
It was a red pill. The pill landed on a pile of snow and instantly melted all of it. In contrast to the clean white snow covering the cave floor, the red pill stood out glaring like a flame.
At this moment, Yang Dingtian’s will to survive gave him a final bit of strength. He rushed forward and opened his mouth to eat the red pill.
As to whether is it was poisonous? As to what the consequences of eating it were? Yang Dingtian no longer cared.
Though the pill had just been placed into his mouth, it felt as if a raging fire had dissolved in his mouth, flowed into his abdomen, and spread through all of the veins in his body.
Instantly, he felt as warm as someone greeted by the return of spring. Yang Dingtian’s stiff body began to recover inch by inch.
Soon, his entire body had recovered and turned back into a hot stove. He had finally restored his vitality. What’s more, there was even a powerful force rushing through his body, desperately trying to burst out. Yang Dingtian felt nothing but endless energy within him.
“What is this thing? How is it so magical?” Yang Dingtian was surprised and excited at the same time. He walked towards the old man, bowed, and said, “Thank you, mister!”
“But, your body can no longer stand the cold either. Why didn’t you take one of those pills?” Yang Dingtian asked.
The old man was still sitting in an upright position with his eyes closed. He ignored the young man and let the snow cover him, turning into a snowman once again.
Afterwards, no matter what Yang Dingtian said, he never responded.
Yang Dingtian was filled with heat energy and didn’t know what to do. The entire cave was just that big, so he simply danced in the heavy snow while waving his fists in the air. It was a complete mess.
The snow was getting heavier and heavier. In just half a day, the snow had piled up about two feet higher and constantly threatened to completely bury the old man. Since this was the case, Yang Dingtian would go over and brush the snow off the old man every half an hour.
“The snow is so heavy and piles up way too quickly. I’m afraid that after only a few years, the entire cave will be entirely filled with it,” Yang Dingtian thought.
Suddenly, he grew extremely excited, rushed to the old man, and said, “Old man, old man, I’ve found a way to get out of here. I’ve found a way to get out of here.”
However, there was still no response from the old man.
In fact, Yang Dingtian did think of a way to get out of the cave. He thought that he could use the snow to construct steps by sticking it against the cavern walls. As the cave is roughly a few kilometers deep, he would need to build around ten thousand steps to reach the top.
Yang Dingtian started pressing the snow into snow bricks each a foot long and half a foot wide. Then, he pressed the snow bricks against one of the ice cave walls. He then used his own body to melt the snow bricks into water, which would then freeze into ice. Each snow brick would transform into a small ice brick firmly attached to the wall.
After spending exactly an hour, Yang Dingtian successfully built the first step, which rose half a meter high from the ground. Yang Dingtian climbed onto it. Just as he expected, it could bear the weight of a person without breaking.
Then, Yang Dingtian started making the second step. The second step was placed thirty centimeters higher and thirty centimeters in front of the first step. The steps would be arranged to make a slope in order to reach the top. If he built it vertically, it would be impossible to walk on it.
Ten hours later, Yang Dingtian had only managed to make 10 ice steps even though he put in a great deal of hard work. He was so exhausted that he just sat down and fell asleep. After he woke up later, he went straight back to work.
Ten days passed. Yang Dingtian had already built over 120 ice steps. The highest step only reached 40 meters above the cave floor. During these ten days, the old man had continued sitting still and keeping his eyes closed without uttering a single word. In contrast, Yang Dingtian spent every waking minute and second constructing ice steps until he was exhausted. He would then lie down on the snow, sleep, and resume once he woke up.
However, after a certain point, Yang Dingtian could no longer continue. The heavy snow had stopped falling a day after he began, and the 120 ice steps he had built thus far already used up all of the snow in the cave. If he wished to continue making steps, he would have to wait for the next snowfall.
Besides, the energy that Yang Dingtian had gotten from the pill had already been completely used up. His body began to feel the cold again as he no longer had any energy left.
Yang Dingtian looked up at the sky, praying for gloomy skies and for the snow to fall like never before. Unfortunately, it was a sunny day and there wasn’t even a single cloud in the sky.
The old man suddenly opened his eyes for the first time in the past ten days. He glanced at the steps made by Yang Dingtian and looked at him.
Yang Dingtian burst with excitement. Looking at the ice steps he built by himself, he said excitedly, “Look, old man! This is the stairs that I’ve built. We will be able to escape real soon. Don’t worry. My stairs are very solid, and I’ll carry you out by using them.”
Just as before, the old man’s face was expressionless, not to mention any sign of appreciation. He then closed his eyes once again as if he hadn’t seen anything. However, he took a pill out of his sleeves and threw it to Yang Dingtian.
It was the same fiery red pill. Yang Dingtian quickly picked it up and put it in his mouth.
Suddenly, his entire body began to feel the burning sensation again filling him with endless energy. There was a strong desire to shout out loud, but he was afraid that he might annoy the old man. Thus, he ended up simply punching with his fists to vent all the energy in his body.
The pill was just amazing. Such a magical thing was nowhere to be found on Earth. It should be extremely precious, perhaps worth over ten thousand gold pieces. With this pill, Yang Dingtian was filled with energy even without consuming food for dozens of days.
Although the pill was precious, Yang Dingtian did not even have the slightest bit of intention to steal it. After taking the pill, Yang Dingtian had so much energy in him that he couldn’t vent it all out. He was longing for more snow now. As soon as it snowed, he would be able to continue building the stairs and leave his horrifying place faster.
At last, either God seemed to hear Yang Dingtian’s prayer or it might have been just a coincidence of winter. On the fifth day after Yang Dingtian took the pill, it started snowing. Though the snowfall wasn’t as heavy as the previous one, it wasn’t small either.
Yang Dingtian began to scream out of excitement.
He started making snow bricks without even waiting for the snow to pile up.
Suddenly, the old man’s body moved a little, and the snow on his body fell off. The old man opened his eyes and waved at Yang Dingtian. He then opened his mouth and said something. Though Yang Dingtian still couldn’t understand the words, he somehow knew that they meant “just go ahead.”
Yang Dingtian rushed over and said. “Look, old man! It’s snowing again. We can leave this place in no time.”
The old man smiled a little. This was the first time in the past half month that the old man smiled.
Then, the old man wrote something on the snow with his finger. It was a word that Yang Dingtian didn’t know. Then, the old man read it out loud and pointed at himself.
Yang Dingtian couldn’t hold in his excitement and asked, “Old man, can you teach me the words and languages used in this world?”
The old man couldn’t understand what Yang Dingtian was saying. He pointed at the word on the snow and read it out loud again. Then, he pointed at himself again.
“The word you wrote should mean ‘I’ right?” Yang Dingtian asked. Then, he wrote the word for “I” on the snow, read it out loud, and pointed at himself.
“I…” The old man listened closely and surprisingly repeated the pronunciation accurately. Then, he pointed at the word written on the snow and then pointed at himself. Finally, he used his finger to write the word “I”.
Yang Dingtian was so shocked that he was speechless. This old man was way too amazing. He had only listened and looked at it once but was already able to read and write the word. Yang Dingtian’s writing was considered decent, but he didn’t expect that the word written by the old man for the first time would look even nicer than his.
After that, the old man wrote the word that he had previously written on the snow before reading it and pointing at himself.
Yang Dingtian hurriedly read the word and then wrote the same word in the snow again. This was the “I” word in this world.
Yang Dingtian’s pronunciation and writing were pretty accurate. The old man smiled and nodded. Then, he wrote another word on the snow, read it out loud, and pointed at Yang Dingtian. This time, what he wrote should be the “you” word of this world.
