Sophie opened her eyes to see a beautiful young lady sitting on a chair staring at her own reflection. There she saw a beautiful girl. Her skin was as white as snow and glowed so beautifully and was so clear that it couldn’t even be compared to the most expensive diamonds in the capital. Her emerald green eyes that were supposed to be shinning their brighter where lifeless. And last but not least, her jet black hair. The one thing she hated the most about herself as it led her to be in the position she is in.
I once fell in love with a man that she truly avoided all red flags. Just a mere look at her from him would her blush. The man I was going to marry, KingAlexander De’mar. A month before our wedding, I went to surprise my fiance with a gift that I spent a lot of time and money on. I bought him an ancient sword that had been blessed by the first Pope. I took many months trying to find this artifact just for the mere thought that it might please him. As I run to the King’s office just about to knock on the door I hear a women’s voice inside. I was surprised to say the least because no woman except the me, his fiancé was allowed to go inside the office. I tried to overhear their conversation through the door.
“Your Higness when are you going to dump that stupid fiancé of yours?” the strange woman said.
“The time will come my dear. That stupid fool hasn’t even realized that I am cheating on her!” He exclaimed.
*Sophie clenched her fists*
“ It’s her fault for being born with that black hair. If only the temple hadn’t received that Oracle saying that a girl with black hair will bring great prosperity and fortune to the kingdom. What nonsense is that. That girl can’t even relize her own fiancé is cheating on her how can she bring fortune.” Said the strange woman.
They both laughed their hearts out. I was bursting into tears already. I was in so much pain. It hurt me so much that it was hurting physically. I couldn’t believe it. They all used me. I peeped through the door with tears all over her face to see who the strange woman was. What she saw next was so heartbreaking.
It was her own best friend, Maria. She couldn’t believe it. My fiancé had already broken my heart, now the remaining pieces were shattered even more.
We had been through the bad and good together. When Maria’s parents died in an accident her family took her in. They had been to parties, schools, and even couldn’t go a hour without seeing each other when they were little. I thought, “Where did it go wrong?”
I had just realized. Maria was jealous of her. Everything was adding up. Her parents didn’t survive the assasination attempt and hers being alive caused her to bear hatred against me. She probably thought we were the reason her parents died. All the times when Maria hung out with her bullies were also used to manipulate them into hating her. She spread those rumors. She was just acting as my best friend.
I made a promise to herself. I will make them pay. Even if they begged on her feet to not kill them, I won’t listen to a thing.
Her heart at that moment was beyond repair.

Sophie pushed all the previous events to the back of her head. She thought to herself it’s not time yet. Everyone will get their retribution.
The servants hurried to make her look her absolute best today. What nobody knew was that behind that beautiful face lied dangerous thoughts. Reminders of her pain and her plan for revenge.
Sophie had already planned her whole revenge out. All that was needed to do know was execute her plan.
She glanced at the gold framed mirror. She saw how extravagant her dress truly was. It was a long white dress. It had white lacing and was simple, but something about it on her made it give off a aura of a dignified noble lady. Elegant not to say the least. Too bad that it would be stained with blood later. Her emerald eyes durned cloudy. Even the maids shivered feeling intimidated by the murderous aura oozing out from her.
“Do you not like your hair?” asked one of the maids while trembling.
Sophie quickly put on her gentle face in a split second.
“ No I absolutely love it.” She said trying to put on her most happy smile to hide her thoughts behind.
ALEXANDER POV
A pair of cold blue eyes where staring at the mirror. He had thick black hair with porclien skin that would make most woman hang their head in shame. And a body to die for. Many said he was personally sculpted by the gods. A mere glance from him would make anyone weak in the knees. But those eyes said it all. No emotions. It was his wedding day yet he didn’t know what to feel. Many men would line up to marry the woman he is marrying today yet he couldn’t find what was so attractive about her. He only person in his eyes was Maria. I had met her in a royal banquet. As ediqeut I had to go meet Sophie’s family, but this time there was another girl next to her. She was cold and distant when she saw me. I think that’s what drew me in. Unlike the clingy Sophie. I scoffed in disgust. At least she’ll be gone soon.
SOHPIE POV
I walk in the red carpet. There are millions of people watching. The music from the royal orchestra gets higher and higher each step I take. I saw my soon-to-be husband. I have to say that he looks gorgeous, but now I can tell fake emotions from the real. I could tell it from his eyes, but there was I glimmer of real emotion for a split second but quickly disappeared.
The old Sophie would have done anything to be walking down this aisle. Flowers poring Dow behind her. And the royal musicians playing especially for her. But that Sophie is dead. I went in front of him and gave him my most happiest smile. That smile was not for the happiness of the wedding but rather what happenes after it.
TO BE CONTINUED.....
After the wedding we went into our chambers. It had a golden bed frame, and had exquisite paintings from all over the world by many famous painters. One painting in particular caught my eye. It wasn’t extravagant, in fact it was very simple. It was one of a girl and a boy lying on top of a grassy hill. They seemed so carefree, as if they didn’t have a care for the world. They gazed at the sky with a castle in the background. You wondered to yourself if Maria wasn’t there would Alex love you. You even wondered if you didn’t have this black hair would you have lived a carefree life like that. You start to question if he did ever love you. Deep inside you knew the answer to that. You were just a tool to him, a plaything. You say to yourself it doesn’t matter, he’ll be dead soon anyway. You wanted your entire youth on him so he’ll have to pay with his life. I hugged him. It wasn’t a hug of love. It wasn’t a hug of happiness. It was a hug of pure hatred and regret. And I think he felt it too as he trembled.
I hid a sword underneath my dress near my thigh. Nobody would search a lady near her thigh. Especially one that is married to the king. I quickly grabbed the sword and slit is neck. I saw how easily the blade cut through his thin, frail skin. I saw how the crimson red blood poured out of his wound. An electric jolt inside you body.
You start running outside crying. You had practiced your fake crying several times just for this moment. The adrenaline rushing through your viens. It made you feel alive. You felt that all the time spent planning had finally payed off.
You run toward a royal guard sobbing. And pulled his sleeve acting desperate.
“Please help me. His Higness he’s been assasinated.” You said stuttering intensively while sobbing.
The royal guard became flustered hearing this shocking news. He goes to the commander and reports it.
A while later you hear a sound.
“The King is Dead” the footmen announced frantically in the hallways of the castle.
Everyone is shocked. All the servants go to inform everybody. Nobody could have expected this. They take you to an interigation in which you are asked to tell them what happened.
*The lines are the stuttering - Author*
“A - person came -inside the chambers and -stabbed him” you said while furiously sobbing.
“Did you see how the person looked like?” The guards asked.
They seemed that they did not want to pester you after seeing something so horrifying.
“ It was definetly a woman- she was in all black- and had red hair- and blue eyes.” She said.
The guards looked at each other. They both knew who had those features. Sophie purposely planned to did this. Everyone in the kingdom knew that only Maria had red hair. Sophie deliberately said this to lead them on. She knew that Maria would always go on a walk around this time so nobody would be an alibi for her. Therefore would be executed.
“You may go now” said the guards.
A group of maids help you up and take you to your chambers.
“I want to be alone.” Sophie said.
All the maids knew that the king had passed away. They understood that she wanted to be left alone. They thought you wanted to cry alone.
You look in the same gold framed mirror from the wedding. You look extremely pale. Your white nightdress is stained in blood. Your beautiful face and arms have the blood of the kingdoms most treasured person. You laugh.
You wash off the dried blood with a washcloth. You see the white wolven sheet being tinted red while the crystal clear water turns murky. Deep. Red. You have never really learned to like the color red until now. A small smirk appeared on you face. You have finally done it. You have finally gotten your revenge.
