(Pit-a-pat Pit-a-pat) It rained heavily...

Damon who just turned 25 went to withdraw some money from the bank but got stuck in the bank. It was his birthday, and he had to go visit his father.

He wasn't fond of his birthday as this was the day he lost his elder brother, Patrick. He was just a 3yrs old kid when his brother died. Damon's parents divorced after their son, Patrick's death. He stayed with his father whereas his mother remarried, and had a son Aden.

Damon waited and waited for the rain to slow down so that he could go home to his father who was waiting so that they could go meet his brother. His eyes were sad and frustrated as the rainwater kept pouring. The streets were filled with water. Damon was stuck in the bank, and there was no way he could get out! He was waiting for the rain to stop when 3 people entered the bank holding guns. Their face was hidden behind a big mask. The only part visible was their eyes which were filled with LUST. The lust for money.

It was a robbery! The robbers gathered everyone together, made them kneel on the floor with their hands above their heads, and made them throw their mobile phones on their feet. Damon was scared and hid behind a dustbin. His body was shaking in fear as he was scared of guns! The robbers disconnected the cameras and started to loot. The bank manager hid behind a desk and tried contacting the police, but to no use because there was a poor network due to heavy rains.

One of the robbers, Vin saw the manager trying to call the police. It made him furious. He shot the manager (bang)! , a loud noise was heard, the bullet hit the manager's shoulder and he started to bleed. People panicked and started screaming when they heard the gunshot. Another loud noise was heard(bang), this time it wasn't Vin, but his partner and brother Benjamin!

Benjamin had a very intimidating look in his eyes. No one in the room dared to lift their heads to look at him. His voice was deep and fierce as if he could kill them with his voice. He spoke as everyone went silent in fear "Zip your annoying mouths! If I were to hear anybody else screaming or crying, I would put this gun in their filthy mouth and blow their f***ing head!" Everyone started shivering in fear for their life, tears rolling down their cheeks!! They started nodding vigorously to comply.

Benjamin then smirked and got hold of a woman's hair who was weeping. She had her hand placed across her mouth firm and tight to prevent any noise. He swung her to his side and put the gun on her head. The gun had just fired a fresh bullet, so it was hot with fumes coming through the nozzle, and traces of gunpowder were present on the nozzle. The skin on the woman's temple started burning due to the hot nozzle. The woman was in pain, but couldn't cry because he said he would shoot if he were to hear any voices. He was delighted when he saw the woman twitching in pain without making any noise.

He then said in a delighted voice " Good! This is what I was talking about! Look at her! Just look at her! So obedient. I don't harm people who obey me, but if they disobey me....." His eyes darkened, the corners of his mouth dropped down " It won't take me a second to shoot this little thing (bullet) in your head!."

He then pushed the woman to the floor, and said "If any jerk present in this room try contacting the police, then remember! It's not just him that's going to die, but also the people sitting beside him that are gonna die!" He then went back to do what he was doing while Vin and the 3rd robber watched the people.

Damon couldn't move after witnessing the whole scene. He was well hidden behind a dustbin where no one would see him! He thought to himself "This may be the last day of my life! I have to talk to my dad!!!! This may be my last time and I may never get the chance to talk to him again! He gathered some courage, took his phone out of his pocket, and started to dial the number 987*******. His hands were trembling. The call couldn't connect due to a poor network. Damon was disappointed, but he kept trying and finally the call connected after 5-6 tries, but when his father picked the call, he heard a gunshot (bang)!!!

Damon's father, Mr.Conor panicked when he heard the gunshot (bang)! He started shouting on the phone "Damon!!! Damon!!! Are you alright? What was that sound? Where are you? Answer me, Damon! Hello?? Hello?? Damon?" There was no reply from the other side. The connection was lost.

He was scared and didn't know what to do. His eyes were filled with fear of losing his son. He had already lost one son, and couldn't afford to lose another one. How would he be able to live his life if something happened to him? So he tried calling again and again, but every time he called the call wouldn't connect.

He then tried calling Damon's friends. Damon didn't have many friends, they were as many as the fingers of his hand. But his friends didn't know his whereabouts. He was devastated and had lost all his senses when his friends didn't know about his whereabouts. Then Damon's father gave one last call to Damon's best friend, Keith, hoping he would know something about Damon, and started mumbling words that made no sense. Keith couldn't understand a word of what he said.

Keith asked " Uncle! Are you alright? What happened? Where are you? Are you stuck somewhere? Should I call Damon? Hello?? Hello?? Uncle!! Are you there? Hello?"

Mr.Conor finally replied with heaviness in his voice " Something happened to Damon. He was going to come to visit me, and we were supposed to visit his brother's grave. Damon did not turn up. He is not home yet! Did he tell you where he was going? I can't seem to get through his phone. Did he call you?". He was on the verge of crying. He was scared for his son. Damon was the only family he had left, and he loved his son unconditionally.

Keith replied, " Calm down Uncle. Drink some water. It's raining hard he might have got stuck somewhere. He will come when the rain slows down."

Mr.Conor replied " No! No! No! Something is not right. Damon called me and when I received the call, all I heard was a gunshot! I don't know what to do. Damon did not respond after that, and the phone disconnected. I tried calling him, but the phone wouldn't connect. I am scared!"

After listening to him, Keith got worried about Damon. Keith was a professional hacker. Although he was born in a rich family of businessmen, he wasn't interested in his family business. He was one of the finest hackers that the cybercops could have.

Keith said in a firm voice " Uncle don't worry. I will track his phone location and let you know. Could you hold on for a few seconds?"

Mr.Conor replied "Yeah sure."

Keith had amazing hacking skills. He tracked Damon's location in just 15 secs. He saw the location on his screen and whispered: "INTERNATIONAL BANK ! "

"I didn't get you, Keith. What did you say?" Mr.Conor asked from the other side of the phone. Keith replied, "Uncle, Damon is in the bank."

"In the bank?, but I certainly heard the gunshot." Mr. Conor thought and after a while, his eyes grew wide and he mumbled " Could it be......" before completing the sentence he hurried and switched to the news section on his phone to see if there was any news of robbery or hostage situation.

He couldn't find any articles regarding INTERNATIONAL BANK. He heaved a sigh of relief and thought "Maybe I am just overthinking." He did not know that there was no news because the people couldn't contact the police.

Keith on the other side on not receiving any response from Mr.Conor asked " Hello? Uncle are you there? ". Mr.Conor replied, "Yes I am here. Thank you for your help son."

"No worries uncle. Let me know when Damon comes home.", Keith said to which Mr.Conor replied, "Sure." and ended the call.

Even though he saw that there was no news of any horrible thing happening at the bank, he was still not convinced and thought there was something that wasn't right. He certainly heard the gunshot! There was no way that everything was as simple as it appeared.

He pondered over for 15 minutes and then decided it's best that he goes to the bank and get Damon back. He then took his car keys and started walking towards his car. He was about to put his keys in the car door when he got a call on his phone. He answered the call, and his eyes widened when he heard the person on the call.

The person who called Mr.Conor was Keith. Keith was unsettled even after tracking Damon's location. The words " I heard a gunshot" kept bothering Keith.

Keith was bugged by those words and he decided on hacking the bank's CCTV cameras, but what he saw on his screen was a blank black image. All the CCTV cameras were shut!

Keith got suspicious. He tried calling the bank but no one picked the call. He got more and more anxious. Then he decided to hack the phones of people who were present in the bank. Keith was a professional in this field and it didn't take him much time to do all of these! It was just a few minutes and that's all he needed!

What he saw on his screen widened his eyes. He couldn't believe what his eyes saw. He reached out for his phone to call Mr.Conor. He called him and said " Uncle! Damon is in trouble! You were right. We have to inform the police about this."

Mr.Conor couldn't believe what he just heard on the phone. His nightmare came true. His steps became unsteady, he lost his balance and went sliding down on the floor. He brought himself back to reality and asked Keith in a distressed voice " Keith! What is it? What happened to my Damon? Where is he right now?"

Keith replied "Uncle I wanted to be sure so I hacked into the bank's CCTV, but they were all shut. How can all the CCTVs shut at the same time? I got suspicious and wanted to be sure so I called the bank but no one answered. Then, I decided to hack the phones of the people present in the bank and what I saw was startling. Some men with guns were moving around the place and people were held, hostage!"

As he heard the word "gun", he was taken aback and said, " We have to hurry. Damon is scared of guns. We need to get him out of there. I can't lose my son. I am leaving for the bank. I heard a gunshot, which means someone was injured! You call 911."

" But uncle it's raining heavily. All the roads are blocked. How will you go there?", Keith asked.

Mr.Conor replied, " I can't lose my son because I was waiting for the roads to clear. Just do what I told you to do!" and hung the phone.

Keith immediately called 911 and also informed all his friends about Damon's situation. They all agreed to meet near the bank.

Mr.Conor started driving. It was a 10-minute drive to the bank, but each minute was hard to pass by. He called his friends to the police and explained to them the whole situation. There was water everywhere on the streets, and the roads were blocked. It was nearly impossible for the car to pass through the blocked roads. So he left his car and started running in the rain like a madman. People watched him and thought "What a crazy fellow!"

Tears rolled down his cheeks and he murmured, "Son! Don't you worry. I will get you out of there. You have to be safe for me. Don't leave me, son! Please!".

He had flashbacks of when Damon and his elder brother, Patrick were young and playing with his gun. Damon's father, Mr. Conor worked in the police force.

"Damon! Look it's Dad's gun. Let's play! Dad is sleeping. He won't know we touched his gun." Patrick said in excitement.

"You be the thief and I will be the Police like Dad," said Patrick. Damon flatly denied Patrick's request. He said " No! I want to be a police officer. I don't want to be a thief." Patrick said, " You were the officer last time. Now it's my turn to be the officer. Catch me "

Damon had no choice but to comply with his brother's wish. Mr.Conor's gun was a bit too heavy for Damon to handle, so he went inside and brought his toy gun which looked precisely like Mr. Conor's gun. Mr.Conor got a toy gun customized because his sons were always after his gun, so he got them one on that day (Damon's birthday).

They started playing and Damon got tired.

" I don't want to play anymore. I am tired." Damon whined and threw his gun on the sofa right beside Mr. Conor's gun. Patrick came running and confused Mr. Conor's gun as the fake one and pointed it at Damon.

" Damon, I caught you! Since you couldn't hide from me, you have to die! " Patrick smirked and pulled the trigger of the gun. A gunshot was heard, followed by a scream.

Mr. Conor and his wife were sleeping peacefully in their room when they heard the gunshot and then the scream. They ran outside to see what had happened. What they saw was a total nightmare.
