Quarantine

N's POV.

It’s so unfair Why am I involved in this dilemma? Why did I went there even my parents warns me not to? Why did I go to see someone?

It’s my girlfriend birthday, and I want to make her happy even in the middle of the crisis I went to the bakery, to get her cake I ordered But as I reach out to get the receipt, the guy suddenly sneezes, he didn’t even bother to cover his mouth as he did.

He quickly apologized, but i forgive anyway, and walk my way to my girlfriend's house, which where the birthday party is held. I have to walk for 30 minutes since there are no taxi because of lockdown, but i didnt mind and hope that my girlfriend won't be mad at me for being a few minutes late.

But as i walk, i felt dizzy, i suddenly feel out of breath, my nose began to itch, as i was pacing back and fort like a drunk man, but i have to go there, my girlfriend is waiting for me. I finally arrived, then i suddenly felt a sore throat, i coughed, but it wont stop me from seeing my girlfriend, as i stop infront of my girlfriend's home.

Ringing the doorbell once.

*ding dong* The sound echoed in my mind, as i felt my body burning up. The door flung open, seeing the most gorgeous girl in front of me.

Sarah

"Why are you late babe?"

"Sorry, i have to walk, there are no taxi for a moment"

Sarah

"*sigh* next time, don't be late, i forgive you since your my boyfriend, oh my god, is that for me?!"

She pointed the box on my hand, wrapped into a pink wrapper, which been tied up in a pink ribbon.

"Yes its for you, happy bir- *coughs*"

i couldn't even finish my sentence, as i look at her, she was shocked, the music turned off, everyone was looking at me. I was confused, but at the same time, i was worried, my girlfriend back a bit, it was my first time, seeing fear in her eyes.

Sarah

"Di...di..did you g..ge..get it?"

I didn't know what she meant, i was confused.

"Get what exactly?"

Sarah

"The...di...di...disease?"

Disease?... what is she talking about?

"Disease? What disease?"

Boy

He got the corona!"

Girl

"Get away from him"

Boy

"He has the disease, kick him out!"

Corona? They mean the corona virus? But i... no... I recall the man who sneezes in front of me.

"Sarah... i..."

Sarah

"Get away from me, eww don't you dare take a step, get out of my house!"

"What? But... i got this gift for you"

i tried to get near her but she back away.

Sarah

"stop or i'll call the police, that gift must have that disease as well, are you trying to get me infected?!"

"No... thats not what i..."

Sarah

"From now on, you're not my boyfriend anymore, well its a good thing though, you're boring, nerdy type of guy"

Those words hit me right through my chest. Why... no she didn't mean that right?, i mean she must be doing this because she was shocked, yeah...

"No... you don't mean that i..."

"You know what, let me be honest with you, i agree to be your girlfriend, because you'll do my homework and projects for school, you think i have feelings for you?! In your dreams"

She... She's been using me? But i did everything for her. I did everything i could to make her happy. I love her so much, nothing matters to me anymore. But she doesn't care about me even once. Maybe my parents is right. I should have trust my parents.

Sarah

"LEAVE BEFORE I CALL THE POLICE!"

Be strong... I turn around

Don't cry... I walk outside

Be Strong... I close the door behind me

Don't cry... I walk away from her house, hearing music again as i gone out.

Be strong... I looked at the box, and threw it at the nearest bin.

Don't... don't... Tears started to fall, my heart ached at the moment i threw the box, its like my whole world shattered into pieces.

I'm so stupid I was desperate to find love And end up getting hurt in the end.

Weeks passed, I was positive to have a corona virus, the symptoms persist because i have a weak immune system.

Well, to be honest... I'll rather die with this disease. Even if i want to, my parents wont let it happen, someone has to run their business.

Actually, i'm the only child of the wealthiest company in the whole world. No one actually knows about it since my parents promised that they will keep it secret until i turn 18.

And my 18th birthday is 2 months away, so i have to get better, i promised them, and i never broke a promise before. And i intend to keep it.

And be alone for the rest of my life.

But... Still... I can't help but thought of that scene. Where she... Lied to me... Used me...

But i'm glad i didn't told her my secret. I was thinking to tell her on my birthday and propose to her.

I mean... If i didn't get this disease... I would have been blind by her.

"HELLO!"

"What?! Don't surprise me like that, you're giving me a heart attack here!"

"Well i wouldn't if you didn't stop day dreaming, i called you multiple times already geez"

"Heh, i'm surprised you wore the oxygen mask and still have enough energy to fool around"

"But i'm boooorreeedd laying around here all day, i want excitement!"

" like what Exactly?"

"I dunno, riding a roller coaster would be fun"

"Lol, the amusement park, even the whole city is on lock down"

"Well it wont stop me... *coughs*"

"*sigh* can you just lay down and rest?"

"But i..."

" na ah! Stay in bed, and i will give you chocolates"

"REALLY?! Wait, how did you get chocolates, i didn't see any vending machines here"

"That would be a secret, but if you want this *holding a bar of dairy milk* you will lay..."

i wasn't able to finish my sentence, she immediately sat down on her bed, looking at me like a dog waging its tail on me. I laughed at her reaction and toss her the chocolates, she caught it and start eating it.

"THANK YOU N! You're my hero! I thought i wont be able to eat chocolate for the whole week"

"*laughs* just don't get yourself dirty, the nurses wont be happy if they found out you're eating unhealthy food"

"Hey! It help me boost up my energy level"

"You mean, sugar rush?"

"Yup!"

This girl is unpredictable, i just met her a few days ago, when she saw me crying, i don't know her name, since i didn't told her my name, so we called ourselves by using the first letter of our name, usually i called her A, she so energetic, cheerful, and otherwise funny.

"Hey there's that smile! It suits you *smiles*"

But to be honest. She's really a beautiful girl, with a kind heart, i saw her giving surgical mask to the nurses when i was walking to get a drink, she tell stories to the kids, well actually outside the room, but there is a glass which the kids can see her as spoke through the microphone while holding a book that she drew and wrote.

Actually... Because of her... I might actually thought that there is no impossible in this world. Although...

One thing that troubles me that... Why my heart is still beating when i saw her? Did i... Fell in love with A?
