Mel is crying much as she says "Let me open the door, please Alex." He says gently close to her ear "No, I need to explain." Mel shakes her head and says "No I don't want to know, I can't hear this, it hurts too much."

Melissa, people call her Mel for short, is a 28 year old young woman who has long black hair and blue eyes. She is 5ft 4 inches tall and has a slightly curvy figure. Her best friend Kevin is in a boy group in America. They are actually more like brother and sister because they have known each other for a long time and are very close. They used to live close to each other and they were always in and out of each other's homes. That was until about a year ago when Kevin and his family moved from where Mel lives in the UK, to America, Florida to be precise and joined a boy group. The only contact they have had since then has been video calls and the occasional phone call. More often it's video calls as phone calls are expensive from country to country. Apart from the video calls, she hasn't seen Kevin since he left as he has been very busy and hasn't had time to come back and visit. Mel misses him so much and she knows that he misses her too.

One night Mel decides that maybe she should go and visit Kevin but wants it to be a surprise, so she calls his mum. Kevin's mum is so happy to hear from Mel and they just talk for a few minutes, just catching up before Mel tells her that she is thinking of going to visit Kevin. His mum says "Oh Mel he will love that, he misses you so much." Mel replies "Mum you can't tell him, I want it to be a surprise." Mel has always called her mum, being so close to Kevin, his mum is like a second mum to her. "Okay I won't say anything to him. Just let me know when you are coming. Amy is here (his sister) and she can meet you from the airport and take you to where he is. She knows his schedule." Mel nods even though she can't be seen and says "Okay, I will let you know." As soon as she gets off the phone she books her flight for three days time then quickly phones Kevin's mum back to tell her the day and time she will be there.

Three days is not long, but for Mel it feels like a lifetime. She has packed and repacked her bag more times than she can count. But soon it is the night before her flight and as she talks to Kevin on video call, it is so hard not to tell him. But she manages not to say anything. Then the next day when she is sat on the plane, she is feeling very nervous and excited at the same time. She can't believe that this day has finally come. She decided to wear her black trousers that have many pockets and zips as they are comfortable and also her favourite trousers. With them she has on a white t-shirt and also her favourite black and white sport shoes.

Once the plane is in the air, she puts in her earphones and listens to some of the songs of Kevin's group that Kevin had sent her. They are really good and she thinks Kevin has an amazing voice. There are seven members in his group. They have only been together for 11 months so fairly new, but they are good and already have a big fan base. The other six members are, Alex, Adam, Luke, Matthew (prefers to be called Matt. Only his parents call him Matthew), Daniel and Jamie who is the youngest. Mel is nervous about meeting them but she is very excited to be seeing Kevin again after so long.

Once the plane has finally landed and Mel has been through security and has her bag, she walks through looking for Amy. Amy is 29 years old and about 5ft 7 and easy to find with her blonde hair with bright pink streaks. Amy quickly comes up to Mel, pulling her into a big bear hug before leading her out to the car. As they are driving, Amy says "Kevin is rehearsing with the others today so I will take you there. He will be so surprised and excited to see you. He kept talking about when they have some time off, coming to see you. I wish I could be there to see his face but I have to be somewhere so I will drop you off outside the building. "Mel sits there nodding and says "Okay, I am kind of nervous about meeting the other members but so excited to see Kevin again. I know I see him on video call but its not the same as seeing him in person." Amy gives a little chuckle and she says "Yes I know what you mean. Don't be nervous with the other guys, they are all really nice and friendly." Then as they pull up outside a building, Amy says "Go through those doors there and up the stairs you will find to the first floor, then walk straight along the hallway and they will be in the room at the end of the hallway with doors facing you. Leave your bag in the car and come and get it from mums later as she wants to see you anyway." Mel nods and gets out of the car and Amy drives away.

Mel stands looking at the big building in front of her. She takes a deep breath then walks in through the doors. She sees the stairs to one side and walks up them to the first floor, like Amy directed her and stands in the hallway. The hallway isn't too long and she can see the doors at the end facing her, which must be the room. She can hear singing, to be more specific, she can hear Kevin singing. He has got the voice of an angel. But as she reaches the door, the singing has stopped and all is quiet. Mel pauses for a few seconds and takes another deep breath before slowly opening the door and quietly walking in. She can see everyone gathered at the other end of the room and Kevin is stood with his back to the door. Mel stops to look at him for a couple of seconds. He has got black hair the same as her, but where hers is long, his is short. He is wearing black sweatpants, black sport shoes and a grey t-shirt. As Mel quietly starts to walk towards Kevin, two guys look at her with a questioning look on their faces. Mel points to Kevin then puts her finger to her lips. As she reaches Kevin and stands behind him, she puts her hands over his eyes and says "Guess who?" She can now feel everyone's eyes on her.

Kevin freezes as soon as she says this, recognising her voice immediately but not believing she is actually there. "No, that's not possible, it can't be you, there is no way you can be here." He lifts his hands up to hers and slowly removes her hands from his eyes and turns around to face her. He looks shocked when he sees her then squeals and says "OMG it is you, you are here." Mel smiles and says "Hey Kevin, surprise" and Kevin quickly pulls her into a big hug saying "Oh wow you're here, you're here" making Mel laugh. He then stops hugging her but keeps his arm around her waist and says to the others "This is my best friend that I told you about, she is more like my sister." Mel shyly looks at the others and they say hello and introduce themselves. Mel says hello back and says "My name is Melissa but you can call me Mel."

Kevin then says "You never told me last night on video call that you were coming. How did you know where I would be today?" Mel giggles as Kevin pulls a cute hurt face and she says "It was really hard not to say anything to you but I wanted to surprise you. I phoned mum so she knew I was coming and she got Amy to meet me at the airport and bring me to you." This makes Kevin look shocked that his sister and mum knew and kept it a secret from him. He says "Amy stayed in my home last night too and never said anything." He then smiles much again as he says "I am really happy that you are here, I have missed you so much. How long are you here for?" Mel shrugs and says "I'm not sure yet, I haven't decided but I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." This makes Kevin smile and hug her again, before they are called to rehearse again.

Mel sits in a chair against the mirrored wall in front of them next to their manager. He seems to be a nice man and his name is Dave, known as manager Dave. Mel watches them rehearsing one of their songs which has got a kind of sexy dance to it. They are really good singers and dancers and all really cute, sexy even. Mel happens to look at Alex as they are dancing this part where they thrust their hips forward, and their eyes meet and he winks at her making her blush and look away. After they finish that song they run through another song and a few times Mel keeps looking at Alex, she can't help it, she feels drawn to him. As she looks at him she thinks to herself.... 'He is more than just cute or sexy, he is hmmm how can I explain him, dare I say perfect?'

When they finally finish rehearsing, Mel walks over and stands next to Kevin while they are talking. Kevin says to her "What was your favourite song out of the two we just rehearsed?" Mel tells him the first one and he smiles saying "I bet I know what part of the dance you liked" and he wiggles his eyebrows at her. Mel nudges him in the ribs with her elbow and he says "Oww" then laughs like a hyena. Mel takes a quick look at Alex and he is looking at her with a slight smile on his face. She quickly looks away and starts blushing and Kevin sees her red face and puts his arm around her, thinking that she is bluhing from what he said. They stand there for a few minutes more then Kevin says "Are you ready to go?" Mel nods and says "Yes but Amy has my bag. She says to collect it from mums as she wants to see me." Kevin nods and says "Okay then we will go there first before we go home." He then grabs her hand and leads her out to the car with Mel shouting "Bye" to the others over her shoulder.

When they arrive at Kevin's mum's house she comes running out of the house. Mel just manages to get out of the car when she pulls her in for a big hug. She says "I haven't seen you for so long, I was so happy when you called me the other night and said you was coming." Mel hugs her back and says "I missed you too mum." They stay there for a while because she won't let them leave straight away, then they collect Mel's bag and drive to Kevin's house. When they get inside, Kevin shows Mel to the bedroom where she will be staying and says "You have your own private bathroom just through that door there" as he points to a closed door on one side of the room. Mel thanks him and he says "I will go now and leave you to shower and whatever after your long flight. If you need anything just call me." With that he goes out of the room closing the door behind him.

Mel unpacks her bag and walks into the bathroom. There are different girly soaps, shampoos and shower gels in there. Mel smiles at this knowing that these are obviously here because of Amy. Mel takes a long shower and cleans her hair with a nice vanilla smelling shampoo and uses vanilla shower gel. Vanilla is her favourite scent and one of her favourite flavours too. Once she gets out she dries herself then towel dries her hair until it is just damp. She then puts on her underwear, a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. She leaves her feet bare and walks out of the room to go and find Kevin.

Mel finds Kevin in the living room but he is on the phone. She decides to look for the kitchen to get some juice and also give him some privacy. She pours out two glasses of juice and when Kevin comes in he takes his orange juice that she hands him and says "I am inviting the other members over later and maybe a couple of other people and also my girlfriend. I was just talking to her on the phone and told her about you being here. She really wants to meet you." Mel smiles at him and says "I would love to meet her, I can't wait." Kevin smiles at this but then his face changes and he gets a strange look on his face. Mel has seen this look before and she knows he is up to something. He then says "I was thinking maybe we should get you someone. If you have a boyfriend here then you won't want to go home and leave him here and you will stay here and live." Mel smiles at this and says "I am surprised you haven't already got someone picked out for me." This makes Kevin laugh.

After a few more sips of his drink, Kevin says "Just out of curiosity, is there anyone in the group that you like?" Mel smiles sweetly at him and says "I know where this is heading. Whatever you are planning, stop it!" Kevin pretends to look shocked and says "What? me? I haven't got anything planned. I was just curious as you were blushing like mad earlier. They are all handsome and I know how you are with male music groups." He has a look on his face that is not just curiosity, he is definitely planning something. Mel starts to think of Alex when he was doing that part of the sexy dance and winked at her. She instantly starts smiling like an idiot and Kevin says "Ah, so there is someone, who is it?" snapping her out of her thoughts. He then continues with "I'm guessing it could be one of three members. I think it is Daniel, Matt or Alex." As he says Alex's name, Mel's face starts to become very red making Kevin smile and say "Ah your face gives you away, it is Alex isn't it?" Mel's face becomes more red as she says "Maybe, but don't say anything to him please." Before Kevin can say anything else, his phone rings again so he leaves the kitchen to answer it.
