Akaashi Keiji who had found his soulmate years before. It is believed that once you had finally found your soulmate it is ought to be the person you will live through the rest of your lives till the world shall end.
But Akaashi Keiji's soulmate died in the year 1020 when, he was at the age of 25. The day his soulmate died he noticed that as he have grown older there were no sign of aging. His dazzling face and amazing figure has remained the same, his soothing voice and mesmerising eyes were like the days when he was 25. And now that he is currently 1025 years old he realized that he was cursed with immortality.
Keiji lived his life like a living hell, He never made friends and stayed away from his relatives as he was afraid on loosing them, He was afraid that he will witness the funeral of his loved one's and he hated it.
He remained his job as an editor since it was the only thing that could make him busy in his lifetime. Waking up, eating, drive, smoke, work, and repeat it all over again. His daily routine was getting old but he didn't bother changing it, either way if he did nothing will change he would stay alone in his home and work until eventually ...hopefully the curse that was enchanted to him will slowly fade away.
Sometimes he thought to him self "Will this curse ever wear off?" But honestly he was getting sick of it. He has tried committing suicide endless of times, He had done every possible way that could ruin his insides, He was going sane but every time he did he would always end up on his bed waking up like it was just a nightmare.
Keiji lived in a average home, a two story house... A house that was similar to the one he had before, The one that Keiji's soulmate would always sneak out for every night from the hospital and watch a movie that his soulmate had been repeating several of times.
Occasionally he would remember his soulmate and shed a tear till he sobbed, he could still feel the imaginary presence of his soulmate, he would sometimes hallucinate of his soulmate in his couch calling his name to watch his favorite movie for the endless time and Keiji would agree. The favorite blanket his soulmate loved and held for the last time was in his bedroom serving as his blanket.
Keiji had loved volleyball since his highschool days but soon stopped in college, but when the time came at the age of 25 his soulmate that was dying requested to play volleyball with him. Even though his soulmate is lacking of sleep and was in jaws of death with a sickness that was believed to never be cured he remained happy and kept smilling until he finally expirienced what a "Peacefull Sleep" would feel like.
As soon as he touched the volleyball again, his experiences had came crawling back to him as if he was back to his high school life playing for nationals. And ever since that event, he had been playing volleyball frequently to his release his stress. But that didn't mean his life began to take a happy turn.
Another day of work
Keiji thought to himself.
Keiji didn't really mind how tiring his job his but as long as he gets distracted with the time and somehow make every minute faster then he cares less.
There is always this one girl who had been bothering Keiji for approximately a year now and still on going. This woman was about 24 years of age, she was perfect... Execpt for her atttude.
She wont even mind taking a bullet for Keiji, because as long as Keiji will notice her she'll do anything for it. She even had the audacity to flirt with Keiji in front of her co-workers to inherit the the title of
"Keiji is mine, so **** off"
Although she haven't said it yet, her facial expressions and and attitude is showing it off.
"Hey Keiji!" The woman cherfully called
"What do you want Ms. Sakura" Keiji utterd blankly
"Oh? Did something happen good today? Have you fianally realized my love for you? It's been ages since i've hear my name comming from your mouth" Sakura chuckled
Keiji let out a sigh as he was annoyed of the presence of this woman.
This bitch is a pain in the ***
"So... Keiji, my birthday is coming up and I decided to invite you. It's going to be held in a beach, and the best part is there is beach volleyball!"
Sakura boasted while clatching her arm to Keiji's
At this point Keiji had already pissed off, but he knew that it'll be disrespectful to hurt a girl, so he just shook her arm off, took his papers and went to the head directors office to pass his files.
As he was walking he was thinking wheteher he should go or not, the consequences of both was bothering so much that he rubbed the creveces of his nose and fixed his glasses.
He reached the office and met the director, he passed his files. He didn't want to stay any longer in the office so the moment he passed his files he immediately shifted his body away from the dorector and head straight to the door.
"Akaashi, don't leave yet"
"What do you need sir..."
"You have been working in my great granpa's company for like forever now, are sure there is nothing wrong with you?"
Keiji took a while to respond and finally lilted his reply.
"Sir, you must be imaginating, I have only been working here for 3 years"
"But even though you've worked here for 3 years, I don't see anything changing from you, Are immortal perhaps?"
"I apologize but I can't answer that question as it is already obvious to the eye. I doubt in immortality as I believed that nothing last forever"
Look who's talking
"Mmm I see, you may take your leave now"
"Thank you"
Keiji pushed the door open to make his way out of the office, he checked his watch and it was lunch already. Once again he had encountered the lady.
"Keiji! Where are you heading for lunch?"
"Café"
"Oh? Me too! What a coincidence"
Akaashi ignored her as he scrolled through his phone to see if there were emails sent to him. There was none so he began scrolling through social media.
Not to mention he has atleast 5k followers on every social media app, it was because of his body figure... Perfect from head to toe. Either cute or hot anything can describe the raven hair. And due to social media his followers had started to suspect Keiji that there was really something wrong in him.
Something that he forbid himself to say.
"Keiji-chan! what would you like to order?" Sakura bubbled.
"I'll have my usual" Keiji said blankly to the waiter.
"I'll have my usual as well" Sakura responded.
Keiji who was annoyed and uninterested of Ms. Sakura decided to use his phone instead. Scrolling through social media every minute of Keiji spending time on his phone there will always be a notification popping from above.
It could be either a new follower, a comment, or a like from his posts. Keiji is always kind enough to like or respond to every comment he sees in his post.
Keiji didn't post as much like any other social media starts would. He was only forced by Ms. Sakura to get social media apps to not waste the model like figure of Akaashi.
"If I commented in your post would you reply to me? Your always kind to all of your mini supporters" Sakura Agonized.
"I probably would, If I hadn't met you"
"Ouch"
"... I'm sorry"
Keiji can't bear seeing a woman put on as a sad face, Keiji always had high respect to women as the society today aren't treating them well. So by using the little ways of Akaashi he would constantly respond to every other girl who meets him, and somehow never gets friends.
Shortly after their lunch was served with the delicious smell filling up his lungs. Keiji waited for Sakura to finish taking pictures and allowing her to eat first.
"Keiji-can your so polite among women, Why is that?"
Akaashi slowly placed his chopsticks on the table as he let out a sigh. As Sakura asked the question memories had crawled back to him like a volleyball being passed to him. Flashbacks started flinging through the raven heads mind.
"Keiji?" Her mom asked her child
"Hmm?" Akaashi looked at his mother
"Promise me something"
"What is it?"
Akaashi's mother knelt down to the height of his son and placed his hands among the Childs shoulders. His mother then let out a sweet smile before proceeding to speak.
"One day, mommy wont be around.
Please promise me that no matter what happens
Or whatever does happen.
Never hit a girl.
Never hurt a girl.
Never make a girl put a frown on their faces.
Even if the girl is bad, never commit those acts,
Alright sweetie?"
The young lad was confused on why his mother wanted to make a promise that he knew that he would never dare to hurt anyone, and that includes women.
"Okay..." Akaashi responded
Keiji wrapped his tiny arms to his mother and gave her a warm hug, this caused his mother to shed a tear.
"Why is mommy crying?
Did I hurt you?
Was my hug to tight?
I'm sorry..."
"No no, you did not hurt anyone sweetie. Mommy is just grateful to have a polite son like you."
Akaashi then placed his tiny hands on the cheeks of her mother and gave her a sweet smile. A smile where every mother would like to see.
However all good things will always lead to an end. Days after their talk, his mother had passed away due to assassination from another palace, as his mother was framed to be caught stealing in the royal garden of the empress.
Akaashi who gazed at his mothers grave as the rain start pouring above his head. Keiji sobbed as heavy as the rain and took a breath before whispering to his mothers grave.
"I will keep our promise..."
Akaashi had nearly shed a tear from the painful flashback that he had, so he took a glass of water and drank half of it to endure or either stop his emotional tragedy.
"Hello? Keiji to earth, Earth to Keiji?" Sakura said while snapping her fingers.
"I apologize"
"Was my question too personal? You could have remained silent."
Their lunch was awkwardly quite, during these times Sakura would babble the things that could fill up the silent atmosphere but this time however, they continued their meal.
"I didn't say anything that you should feel guilty, your free to talk" Akaashi acknowledge.
"Right..."
Sakura then continued her talk that was paused earlier until their meals had finished.
"Keiji-chan" Sakura whined.
"What is it Ms. Sakura?"
"Keiji-chan, you don't have to speak formally with me outsides, but that's not the point. I'm just really curious you know? So I have to apologize in advance but can you tell me your response now?"
"I don't think this question is necessary but... It was a promise that me and my Mom made"
"Oh I see
Well your Mom raised a good child
Can I met her?"
Akaashi flinched a bit as Sakura brought up her questions
"Yeah, meet me in the Ibaraki Prefecture Cemeteries"
Sakura was wide shock on how absurd she was asking a question so sensitive.
"Omg, Keiji-chan! I'm so so sorry for your loss"
"It's alright"
"And I'm also sorry that I can't come with you, Well you see I have Necrophobia "
Necrophobia; a specific phobia which is the irrational fear of dead things (e.g., corpses) as well as things associated with death (e.g., coffins, tombstones, funerals, cemeteries).
"It's fine"
"Well, I have to get going now. My shift will start soon, see you Keiji-chan"
Akaashi let out a nod as she escorts Sakura to get a cab.
Keiji then went to his car and drove to his house as his job today was finished.
"I'll see you soon mom, and... you too" Keiji said while looking at the picture frames of his Mother.... and soulmate.
