You must have heard I believe that everyone has, who’s not going to know the story? You do know which story I am talking about right? Some people call it a fairy tale, that it never happened, some don’t even believe in our kind, but I’m more than sure, that even when they don’t believe, they still like to listen to the story. Just like every other story, it starts with a very short happy time, and then it turns to gloom, but near the end, everything goes back into being happy.
Like the fairy tale that it is, it shall start just like one…
Once upon a time, a beautiful baby was born. She was the daughter of the most powerful and respected Alpha there was in the country. There was a prophecy of this baby, apart from being the heir of the pack; she was also the one wolf that would unite two packs, to create a kingdom, to be just like before. She was going to become the Queen of all werewolves, and her mate was going to be the King. They knew that she was the one, because of the mark on her left shoulder, a small red wolf paw, it looked like a mole, but everyone in the werewolf world knew what it meant.
Her reddish hair, framed her beautiful white face, making her green eyes pop out more. She was the perfect gift from the Moon Goddess, and both the Alpha and the Luna knew it, and that was the reason as to why they held a party for when she was born. Everyone from the pack was due to spend a whole week celebrating the birth of the new heir. There was going to be no job, the only ones working would be the patrols, but then everyone was free to celebrate.
Most people thought that because of that the tragedy came, other differ, saying that it wasn’t their fault, like who was going to think someone was ever going to try to wrong the most feared pack, the Red Moon Pack.
“Alpha!” The warrior shouted through both the link and his voice. “Alpha!”
“What?” Alpha frowned. “What’s wrong Mark?”
“The baby.” He exhaled. “The guards around the room and the hallway are all dead-”
“Where is the baby?” The Alpha whispered calling his wife.
“Gone.” The guard replied. “The baby is gone, and I can’t find her scent.”
The celebration ended in that same moment, and everyone moved out in the search of the heir. Just like Mark had said, there was no scent to follow. With a loud and powerful growl, the Alpha turned into his black wolf and joined the hunt for his daughter.

The baby kept crying as she was carried away from her home. The wolf was jumping fast, making sure to leave no trail whatsoever. He wanted the baby so that he could rule the werewolf world. He knew about the prophecy, he knew that if he mated her, the offspring was going to be deadly powerful, and even if he didn’t mate with her, he knew that with some of her blood he could heal faster and become stronger. As morbid as it sounds if he drank her blood, he was to become the strongest wolf to ever live.
There were just some things that he didn’t know, things that would be known to the kind, as the creature grew older. Things that would ruin his plans to touch her, to even look at her. The girl was protected by the Moon Goddess herself, she was not going to let anyone harm her, and even when they kidnap her, she was not going to let her live her life as a slave, she was going to help her run away from that man, but that didn’t mean that she was going to go back to her castle and live happily. She would have to know the world from the bottom, before being on the top.
6 years later
Raphaella rolled her eyes; at the instructions, they were giving her. She knew that she was supposed to clean the house, but she wanted to play with the rest of the pups. She couldn’t really understand why she had to work, instead of playing like the rest.
“Get to work kid.” The Alpha spat. “I told you that you were not allowed to play with the other kids, you are not allowed out of this place.” He slammed his fist on the wall.
“But why can’t I play?” She questioned. “It’s not fair that I have to work and they can play.” She pouted.
“Get to work Raphaella.” He spat. “If this house is not clean spotless for when I come back, you will be punished.”
“You well know that nothing will happen to me.” Raphaella winked before she ran away from the Alpha.
Raphaella had a plan; she was sick and tired of being the maid and being treated like less when she knew that she was special. She had already shifted, even when the age of shifting was between 15-17, she did it at the age of 5.
No one knew, and that was the best part of it. She could shift into her wolf and run away from the one place she hated, she was going to search for another pack, one in which she was treated correctly and not as a slave.
And it was that thought that made her free for the first time in her life.
10 years later
“Raphe!” Martha shouted from the first floor. “Get up! You have to go to school!”
Raphaella groaned as she covered herself with the duvet. She couldn’t understand why Martha was now demanding her to go to an actual high school when she was fine with the online classes and practising her sports away from the pack. Ever since the day that Martha found her, Raphaella knew that she was not going to be able to mix with the rest of the people from the pack, due to the fact that they pitied her, and she hated that.
“Raphaella!” Martha shouted once again. “I don’t hear the water running or your feet moving, so you better get going! If I have to go up, you will regret it!” She added an empty threat.
“I’m up!” Raphaella shouted before getting out of her bed and into the bathroom next to it.
Getting inside the shower, she decided to try and make the best of a first real day of real school. She knew that Martha was only trying for her to see if her mate was near. The school was located on neutral ground, meaning that two packs went to the same school, and so far they never had a problem. The Blue Moon pack was the neighbour pack, and it was the second biggest pack, the first one being the Red Moon Pack.
Raphaella was part of the Shinning Moon pack, and so far she didn’t have a complaint about it, apart from the fact that people thought that she was odd. Only the Alpha, the Luna, and Martha knew about her past, no one else needed to know that she had been kidnapped and then she had escaped. Neither of them knew that she was powerful, or that she had already had her first shift.
Changing into her cloth, Raphaella walked down the stairs into the kitchen where Martha was fixing breakfast before she went over to the Pack Hospital and start working. Martha is the pack doctor, she is well known and respected, and was the one that rescued Raphaella, all those years ago.
“Are you ready for your first day Raphe?” Martha questioned as she took a seat. “It’s senior year, plus you are of age to find your mate. Aren’t you excited?”
“As I can be?” She yawned. “Can’t I keep taking online classes?”
“No,” Martha replied.
“I already graduated with the online classes, Martha,” Raphaella whined. “Why do I have to be with people that double my age, and aren’t interesting?”
“You don’t find anyone interesting.” Raphaella rolled her eyes. “You need to, in all reality have contact with people who are closer to your age. Hanging out with only older people isn’t going to help you get closer to the pack. You’re a fighter, the best fighter this pack has ever had, and that most likely means that you are going to be chosen to be the Fighter when the new Alpha takes his stands. You need to get closer to them.”
“I just don’t like them.” Raphaella shrugged. “They don’t have a mind for anything other than having fun.”
“Raphe, please try.”
“Will do.”
Martha gave a small smile as she saw Raphaella walk out the door. She knew from the first time that she saw her, that she was no ordinary wolf. She couldn’t understand as to why she only knew that she is. She found her, dirty and covered in blood, what was interesting was that the blood wasn’t from her it was from another person/wolf. Raphaella was barely six when she found her, but she was far more mature and intelligent than any other pup she had ever seen.
Ever since the day she found her, she adopted Raphaella and tried her best to make sure that she grew up as normal as she could be. Between some talks, she figured out that she had been living as a slave for her whole life, she didn’t know where or by whom; she just knew she didn’t belong there, just like she didn’t belong here.
Martha was sure of one thing, Raphaella was the girl in the prophecy.

With a scowl on her face, Raphaella entered the school grounds and made her way towards the office to get her schedule. It was the very first time that she ever entered a high school, she knew how they worked, she wasn’t that stupid, she had just opted for studying online and preparing herself for something she didn’t even know about.
It was everything she had expected, even when there were no humans in this school, they all acted as if they were. People stood in groups, talking and laughing, doing some catching up with the ones that left in the search of their mates for the summer, other simply laughing about shitty pictures they found on the Internet.
With her head held up high, she walked around as if she belonged here, she wasn’t going to show that she wasn’t part of her pack. Two packs in the same ground, she was the future fighter, she was going to show that she was not weak.
“Raphaella.” An annoying voice called her. “It’s so nice to see you here.”
“Cut the act, Sophie.” Raphaella snapped. “Why are you talking to me?” She crossed her arms. “I believe that you rather speak behind my back.”
Sophie narrowed her eyes. “I’m trying to be friendly.”
“Just don’t.” And with that spoken, Raphaella walked towards her class.
Taking a seat, Raphaella stared out the window. She just didn’t enjoy being held up in a classroom, with a lot of people. Her senses were far more developed than the average wolf, and that made her angry because she had to spend more time controlling her senses when she was around too many people. She always had the urge to help people when they were in danger, and she just couldn’t help everyone, because when she needed help, no one was there to help her.
“Is this seat taken?” A gruff voice questioned.
Raphaella stared at the guy and shook her head, figuring out that he wasn’t from her pack. She was sure that he was a Beta, most likely the future one, from the Blue Moon Pack. “No.”
“I’m Killan.” He stated. “Future Beta of the Blue Moon Pack.” Raphaella raised an eyebrow. “I’ve been coming to this since forever, who are you?”
“I don’t answer to you,” Raphaella replied and stared at the front.
“I command you to give me your name,” Killan spoke.
“You aren’t from my pack.” She added. “I don’t answer to you.”
Before Killan could spit out another word, Sophie appeared bashing her eyelashes to him. “Oh Killan, why are you losing your time talking with her?” She pointed at Raphaella. “She’s not worth it.”
“Get away Sophie, I’m trying to know who she is, and why she won’t obey me.”
“Oh please,” Sophie rolled her eyes. “Her name is Raphaella, and she won’t obey you because she obeys no one.” Raphaella narrowed her eyes at her. “She believes that she is better than everyone cause she is the future Fighter of the pack.”
“Get lost, Sophie.” Raphaella spits out making Sophie wink at her before walking away. Closing her eyes, she tried to gain control once again. She was not in the mood to deal with people.
“Oh, so you are the famous fighter,” Killan commented and Raphaella rolled her eyes. “I’m sure that Theo is going to be thrilled to finally meet you.” She raised an eyebrow. “You’re a legend.”
“Shut up,” Raphaella growled and stood up from her seat. “Don’t talk to me ever again.” She added and walked out.
ºººººººººººººººººº
Killan had most of his classes with Raphaella, and he couldn’t help but stare at her. He wasn’t attracted to her, no, but she was someone so unusual, someone, that could simply decide not to obey an Alpha command, apart from that, she had the aura of strong power, the only other person to ever had it, was the Future Alpha Theo Damon.
As he studied her, he found out that she liked to play a lot with a pendant, which contained the picture of a wolf. There was something odd about it like it was supposed to be important, but he just couldn’t figure out why.
“Could you do me a favour and spot staring at me?” Raphaella snapped as she narrowed her eyes.
“I’m obeying orders,” Killan replied and Raphaella raised an eyebrow. “My Future Alpha asked me to see if there was anyone new.”
“Then why doesn’t your Alpha come and figures it out for himself?” She spat.
“He’s away.” He shrugged.
“Stay away from me.” She spoke. “Leave me alone. I’m not part of your pack, so you don’t have to worry about me.”
“That is where you are wrong.” Killan smiled. “We worry for both packs.”
Raphaella dodges the punch and decided to kick her opponent, the minute her foot touched her opponent’s stomach, she kicked with her other foot towards the face, landing on her feet with a sly smirk. Her opponent was thrown on the floor clutching his nose.
“Make sure you don’t let your guard down.” Raphaella spat. “Get up and clean your nose before heading back to the blocking area.”
Turning around, she stared at her students. Most of them were practising with the equipment that the gym had, others were running or doing some sort of cardio to get a better resistance, and it was the minority that was actually fighting with another wolf. She was proud of some of her students, it was especially the younger pups she actually liked training, as they were so eager to learn new things and they actually tried harder and made sure that they were doing their best.
I need you in my office right now. The Alpha Pater spoke through the mind link.
I’ll just finish my session and I’m on my way. She replied and took in a deep breath, she was sure it had to do something with today.
“Listen up pups!” Raphaella shouted. “Class has to be cut short today, I can only hope that tomorrow you decide to actually do something and prove to me that you are worthy of being a warrior!” She stared at everyone. “Now, shuffle off.”
Raphaella grabbed her water bottle and made her way out of the training arena towards the packhouse. She could feel the eyes of her fellow pack mates on her, as she walked only in her gym cloth. She was sure that if she was another person who actually cared, she would have changed into something more suitable for meeting the Alpha, but her being her, decided that it would be a waste of time.
The wind picked up, and Raphaella felt it on her skin, she always loved the air would hit the skin, and how good it felt when it was colder than usual. She always loved autumn and winter, due to the climate being as cold as she always wanted for it to be.
She nodded to the guards outside the packhouse and to a couple of people who actually had the audacity to smile. Raphaella knew what her reputation was; she was just the outcast who got a hell of a deal, it didn’t matter to her, they didn’t even know how they had found Raphaella ten years ago. Stretching her arms, she walked inside the Alpha’s office.
“You called for me.” She raised an eyebrow before sitting down.
“I did Raphe. “Alpha Pater replied. “I’ve got a complaint about you.” He sighed and she rolled her eyes. “I know that you are not used to the rules on the school, but you have to answer to both future Beta’s and Alpha’s.”
“Why should I?” Raphaella questioned. “I don’t even answer to you sometimes, why should I tell someone I don’t know my name?”
Alpha Pater let out a chuckle. “I feel sorry for your future mate.”
“You and me both.” Raphaella winked. “I will try to be more civilized with the other pack.” She nodded. “Anything else?”
“Thank you Raphe.” Alpha Pater smiled. “That is all, I still don’t have any more information.”
Raphaella nodded and walked out of the office. Every time she asked for more information he would always tell her the same answer, it was time for her to take the matter into her own hands. With a small smirk, she made her way towards the Pack’s Library.
ºººººººººººººººº
With another scowl on her face, something that a lot of people thought of natural, Raphaella stepped out of the car and walked towards the school building. Her first day hadn’t gone as she planned, but she sure as hell knew that for the rest of the year, she would have to suffer.
“I never thought you would come early to class.” Killan smiled as he stepped next to Raphaella.
“I thought I left it clear yesterday,” Raphaella replied. “Leave me alone.”
“I thought your Alpha spoke to you about that behaviour of yours,” Killan smirked.
“He did.” It was now Raphaella’s turn to smirk. “But I just decided not to obey.”
“You can’t just decide not to obey an Alpha.” Killan furrowed his eyebrows. “It’s technically impossible for a wolf-like you?”
“A wolf like me?” Raphaella growled. “Listen here, pup.” She narrowed her eyes. “Don’t go feeling all superior only because you are going to be a Beta someday.” She spat. “I will be a Fighter, that means that you and I both have the same rank.” She got up from her seat. “You don’t know me so stop harassing me.” And with that, she left the classroom even when the teacher called for her.
Killan was left stunned after the outburst Raphaella had. He knew that she was powerful, and he thought that she was something more than just the future Fighter of the pack. There was no way that a wolf could disobey an Alpha unless of course, the wolf was an Alpha too.
Shaking his head, he turned back to the lesson, Wolf History. The teacher was talking about some prophecy that was written when the whole werewolf answered to a King and whatnot, it didn’t matter to Killan, at least at the moment he wasn’t really paying attention until they mentioned a Female Alpha. She was bound to be powerful and skillful, and everyone knew who it would be, due to a mark on her shoulder, a small red paw print. As the teacher kept talking about her, Killan couldn’t help but think that someone so powerful would emit such power, and Raphaella emitted power. She was not the girl of the prophecy right?
ºººººººººººº
“You are going back to school tomorrow.” Alpha Donovan spoke. “You heard from Killan that there is a new kid, a girl, Raphaella.”
“I heard dad.” Theo rolled his eyes. “She’s from Shinning Moon.” He added. “Though, I’ve never seen her in my life.”
“She doesn’t really get along with other wolves.” Alpha Donovan replied. “Killan had me speaking with Alpha Pater, about her.”
“Why?” Theo questioned.
“Her attitude.” Alpha Donovan shrugged. “So, how was the trip?”
“My mate isn’t from Red Moon Pack.” He sighed. “Though that Alpha and Luna are still looking for her daughter, they haven’t lost hope.”
“You will find her soon.” Alpha Donovan patted his son’s back. “And I feel sorry for them, losing your child is not something I wish upon my worst enemy.” And with that said he left the room.
Theo nodded even though his father was already out of the room. He wanted to find his mate dearly, but he didn’t know where to keep looking, he had visited every single pack over the summer, and had found nothing.
He did find something interesting on his trip. The missing child, from Red Moon Pack, there was something about her that he couldn’t help but feel attracted to her, even when he only saw a picture of her as a baby. The green of her eyes attracted him so much, that he couldn’t help but stare at the picture her parents showed him. They were the greenest, no other could compare to them. He was just falling in love with the eyes of a baby, that no one knew where she was…

“Raphe,” Martha sighed. “What did you do today that Alpha Pater asked me to speak to you, and try to get some sense into your head?”
“Nothing,” Raphaella replied. “I did nothing worth either of your time.”
“I heard from him that some wolf, from Blue Moon, the future Beta.” Martha started. “You do know, that we have a treaty with the pack, and so you need to respect her.”
“Yeah, well,” Raphe shrugged. “I don’t obey anyone, so why the hell should I obey him when he feels superior to me? He’s just like me, a wolf with no title, and just because he’s a future Beta doesn’t mean he has the right to make me do stuff I don’t want to.”
“Asking for your name is what everyone does,” Martha explained. “He was trying to figure out who you are.”
“He already knows my name.” She spat. “I asked him to leave me alone, and he just keeps pushing his luck.”
“Tomorrow, the future Alpha goes back to school,” Martha spoke. “Please, try not to get on his nerves.”
“I can’t promise anything.” Raphaella winked before she locked herself in her room.
