"You are not our daughter, now that you are 18  and become an adult go out and live on your own we are not gonna support you anymore."

These words shattered my whole world in an instance. Today was my 18th birthday and I wanted to surprise my parents with the wonderful news that I hid from them for almost three years but they gave me a gift I would never forget in my life. From childhood, till now I always wondered why my parents loved my little sister more than me and spoiled her while they were so strict with me and never really appreciated my efforts in studies or anything else today I finally got my answer I was not their real daughter but just a burden for them to take care of because they adopted me when they had no child but after my adoption, they found out that they were having their own child and from then on I was no longer important for them at all but just a burden which they had to take care of.

The words they said were ringing in my head and my heart felt like it was bleeding as I remembered all my childhood memories till now. I was on the verge of breaking down and almost even begged them not to abandon me but then suddenly gathered my courage and  held the last strand of my pride and said "thank you for raising me all these years and tolerating me I will leave this house and will never come back to this house ever again."

I bowed to them as respect for the last time and left the house without any of my belonging.

Tears rolled down my cheeks which I was trying really hard to hold back and I cried my heart pout as I was walking on the road on a cold night wearing only a sweater.

I ran and ran till I was exhausted and my energy was gone.

After she was her energy drained out and she had no tears left in her eyes she wiped her face and tried to calm herself down and took her phone out of her pocket and called someone.

20 MINUTES LATER

A car stopped in front of her, she sat inside and left.

"So what exactly happened?" the girl driving the car asked the question with a worried expression on her face after seeing her condition.

"Did someone bully you? Did anything happened to your family?" she asked but Sara never replied to any of her questions.

"For god sake please say anything don't keep this blank expression on your face"

I turned my face towards her and started crying again she stopped the car and tried to calm me down but my mind was filled with the previous incident and chest was filled with a pain she hugged me and after 15 minutes of crying I calmed down she patted my head and told me to calm down and don't think of anything at all I closed my eyes and tried to empty my head from all things and finally calmed down.

The girl started the car engine and drove away but still had a really worried expression on her face but after seeing Sara in this state she decided not to ask her all the questions again for a while.

**Time Skip (2 days)

after two days of silence, my friend asked me about my situation again when she was sure that now I have finally calmed down and settled my conflicted feelings.

"So now will you please tell me what the hell happened with you and why are you in this state my patience has run out please tell me whatever it is"

Lily was my friend since middle school and the only true friend I had and she always protected me like a sister in any situation ever since we became friends but I was afraid of what lily will think of me after she knows my family situation will she also abandon me this thought scared me to the core I was really afraid of being abandoned but I trusted her with all my secrets so I told her what happened 2 days ago she was really shocked and then had a sad expression on her face and suddenly hugged me,

"you have really suffered but don't worry I will never leave your side this is just a phase in your life forget all the bad memories and focus on yourself from now on."

Actually lily never liked my family at all since the beginning but never said anything because of me. She was always angry when she saw the difference in treatment between me and my so-called sister but never really said anything because she didn't want to hurt me. she also suspected that they are not my real family but I never really listened to her at treated her words as a joke but now everything is true and I am really disappointed in myself.

In my childhood, I always wanted my parent's attention so I studied really hard and behaved very well and never behaved as a stubborn girl but they never showed an ounce of affection to me and treated me as someone very distant but I never complained about anything and tried to make myself better thinking that I must have made a mistake but thinking back now it was all just a waste of time they never really cared about what I was doing.

"I was really stupid" I mumbled to myself.

"So what do you plan to do next?" lily asked Sara.

"well actually I am happy now I think it feels like a heavy burden is lifted from my head and I feel quite free right now," she said with a relaxed expression on her face.

"oh I forgot to ask did you told them about your secret or not?"

I remembered that I was going to tell them my secret on my birthday night but did not due to the revelation of the truth and all the mess well now I think it was for the better that I didnot tell then the truth cause they dont deserve it.

"no I did not"my friend let out a sigh of relief after hearing my reply.

"well I always said that they dont deserve a daughter like you, my sara is better off without them" lily said while hugging sara as a sign of giving comfort with a bright smile on her face in attempt to cheer her mood up.

Revealing my secret was also just another attempt of mine in hope of getting a compliment from my parents but it was all just my wishful thinking. she let out a sigh while saying this to herself in her mind.

2 MONTHS LATER

It was my high school graduation ceremony everyone was looking happy while accepting bouquets from their family or friends and taking pictures with them. I was a little sad but lily came to me with a big bouquet of flowers and gave them to me a took my pictures with the class teachers and then herself my little sadness that was left went away quickly when lily cheered me up.

"well, congratulations No:1," she said while teasing me and whining in front of me as she wasn't in the top 5 students.

One thing that was good in all my birth secret mess was that I was top of my school with an outstanding result well it was because I wanted recognition from my parents but from now on I will live and work hard only for myself and those who cherish me. she thought while looking at the cheerful smile on lily s face.

after the ceremony, both went to lily s house where both of them were living together for two months because lily insisted that Sara should live with her as hotels are not safe nowadays and they can accompany each other. Sara got into a prestigious university based on her outstanding result and lily also barely reached eligibility and entered the same university as Sara.

A WEEK LATER

Sara and Lily were cooking in the kitchen together when Sara got a call she received the call lily was looking at her curiously.

"ok I will be there right away wait for me, " she said and cut the call and turned towards lily who was curiously looking at her waiting for Sara to tell her about the call.

" Is it what I think it is!!!!!?" she asked excitedly.

"Ummm yes I think so" after hearing her answer lily screamed in joy and started jumping while hugging me.

After lily had calmed her joy down we got ready and went outside. I was also really excited and happy and could not wait to reach our destination.

AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVE

they reached in front of a huge building that was nearly completed and the interior work was being done.

"oh my goodness" lily barely held her scream of joy I was also really surprised by the size of the building.

after 5 minutes of waiting in the lobby, a man came down through the lift and was walking towards Sara and lily.

"oh hey, Sara you came?" Sara and Lily turned towards the man. Sara greeted him with a smile on her face and the man hugged her also with a smile on her face.

lily was seeing all this and was surprised as she did not know the man in front of her who was so close to her best friend.

Sara let out a small giggle seeing lily's confused and cute face and finally introduced the man.

"so lily meet my friend and kind of manager Alan Jung" Alan shook hand with lily as a form of greeting.

"and Alan she is my one and only best friend lily"

" oh so you are lily I have heard a lot about you from Sara but hey Sara I am hurt that you said she is your only friend am I not your friend at all," he said while making a fake pouty face.

Sara giggled and said " oh come on don't give me that look okay you are my friend too"

lily who was still getting hold of the situation suddenly said"oh so you are the one who is managing all the secret works of Sara now I get it she told me about you but its first time meeting you hello I am lily nice to meet you"

lily introduced herself and shook hands again after getting hold of the whole situation.

"you are really slow sometimes lily," Sara said while smiling and teasing lily.

"so this is where our new office is gonna be?" lily asked while looking at Sara.

Sara nodded saying yes. lily face was beaming with joy.

actually, Sara's secret that she wanted to tell her parents on her birthday was that she had become a world-famous designer with many awards whose identity was still unknown all just for getting their love and support. her friend lily knew about her secret identity which was not known to the world and other than lily only Alan knew about her identity as he was the one managing her work on the screen while she was working behind the scenes hiding her identity.ever since Sara was young she had the gift of art but her so-called adoptive parents never really cared about her abilities so she never received any formal art or fashion designing education but since she had amazing talent and imagination of her own she made designs of clothes as she was very interested in clothes her friend lily once took her designs and entered Sara in a competition which she won and then Sara had the confidence and participated in many contests and met alan coincidentally and became friends with her alan graduated from university with a management degree and saw Sara's potential and offered to be her manager who will arrange her works since then Sara and Alan worked together and they both rose to fame while Sara's identity was still unknown to the world.

sara's designs became famous really quickly and as her fame rose her works were included in many famous fashion magazines and her hidden identity also played an important part in her increasing fame as everyone was curious about the famous designer who never shows up in public and now Sara was about to start her own brand with alan's help and achieved great success in her life. After the sudden betrayal of her parents, she was now about to start a new life of her own.

as Sara was looking at the building a tear rolled down her cheek.

lily asked Sara with a worried expression "what happened, Sara? is anything wrong?"

Sara shook her head and wiped her tears and said"nothing happened lily these are just tears of joy I will never ever let others influence my life again and I will live my life for myself and do whatever I want with my life. after today i will start a brand new life and forget all the bad memories and also i will not forgive those who will try to hurt me or my friends."

"this is a new beginning of my life................................."
