*bell rings at school*
As soon as the students got into their class an enormous swoop of chatter filled up the empty classroom with no teacher. There was one boy who no one would go by without noticing and that was Tyler Bodega... Well, obviously you would be able to notice him due to all the stares he got from girls galore. Judging from his irritated glare, you could tell he wasn’t a fan of this attention so, he tried to distract himself by talking to his friends. However, they seemed to have other things in mind...
“Hey Ty...I got a mad party coming up and this invite is calling your name!”
“I need advice about whether I should go to the gym and become a fitness fanatic – more muscles mean more girls am I right!
“Earth to Tyler... Are you alright man?” Dylan, Tyler’s best friend, asked with a wary look on his face.
Immediately, Tyler snapped back to reality and acknowledged him. You can’t really blame him for being worried – everyone knew about the famous football match they had against Mackleton School, the sportiest school in the borough. Tyler’s team simply HAD to win... or else. Reputation gone.
After that numb-wracking lesson all Tyler wanted to do was just to go home and flop on his bed but, a tap on the shoulder seemed to ruin that dream.
“Hi! My name is Lacey, sorry...this is weird. I just saw you seemed really worried and I wanted to ask if you were okay!” Lacey blurted out, relieved that she didn’t stammer once.
“Hey, thanks so much for asking I’m fine thanks for asking – I'm just worried about that match coming up” Tyler replied – shocked that someone would ask that.
“Well, I don’t really think it’s that big a deal but, hopefully with a bit of luck you’ll make it through!” Lacey replied, trying
to be positive for him.
“Actually, I think with hard work and dedication we should be fine, ‘luck’ doesn’t get you anywhere. Practice does. And that’s what I should be doing instead of wasting time talking to you” Tyler bluntly replied.
“Okay then... sorry I asked” Lacey sadly said, and with that she hurried back home so Tyler wouldn’t see her tears.
As much as Tyler did feel bad, you wouldn’t have been able to tell from that worried facial expression on his face as he hurried off back home. Why he did that, I’m sure he’ll reveal in his diary...
Dear Diary,
I don’t even know why I’m bothering with this, but I suppose there’s nothing better to do. My day has been quite normal today – I went to hang out with my friends with girls staring after me wherever I go. Living the dream right! Well… not really. Everyone always thinks that I’m having the best life ever and they would all KILL to be me (not being egotistical here). But something weird is going on. I thought I was just imagining it but I’m not joking. Whenever I’m on my own and leave everyone…a wave of doom and dread comes over me…and it’s like I start thinking about things I don’t want to think about. I know it seems hard to understand, but I just start beating myself up purely because I just feel that sudden HATE for myself and I just want to…. Let’s not finish that sentence or this …thing will really start kicking up again. Your first thought would probably be… GET HELP. And believe me, I really WANT to but; if I say one single word about it…Reputation gone. I have a feeling it’s probably me stressing myself out as usual just because of a stupid match I must play. I know I probably won’t do well with it; I’m just useless at everything I do. I couldn’t even talk to a girl properly without just talking about how cool my life is instead of all the deep stuff everyone likes. See? It’s happening again. It’s like some sort of darkness is taking over my body and I don’t know what’s happening to me. Why am I feeling like this – with my life… I’m literally on top of the world where I can do what I like and be who I want. Yet despite this, I honestly wish I could be normal – I know I know weird right? But why don’t YOU try being in my shoes for once instead of assuming that I have the best of everything. I doubt anyone understands me though; everyone just thinks that I’m an awesome person who has the King Midas gold touch. Well little do they know…. Something big is coming. And I don’t know if I’ll be ready for that…
This next character we’ll see is Joline. You wouldn’t be able to pick her out amongst the crowd, since she tries hard to fit in so much, she’s almost invisible. However, three girls picked her out instantly – and the grin on their lips and their malevolent glare seemed like it wasn’t to ask her to come back home with them. Immediately, they all pounced on her when Joline was at her least vulnerable.
“Oi Joline, got anything for us today?” the ringleader, Shaylee asked casually, almost as if she was being polite! But Joline knew well to see through that mask.
“Not today girls, don’t you have anything better to do than to just pick on me all the time - I'm not exactly a fun target am I?” she warily said.
All three of the girls looked at each other – full of glee.
“Nah, I think we’ll stick to you since it’s what you get for not talking to anyone you WEIRDO!”
At that moment of cackles filling the air, as if she was sparked by lightening, Joline ran, she didn’t know where she was going but all she knew was that she wanted to get away from them but...she was unaware of the screeching of a vehicle.
One minute, flashing lights...next minute. Utter darkness.
