Lights went off due to the heavy downpour and there was no charge in the invertor. I slowly started taking baby steps towards the kitchen to light up the lamp as I was nyctophobic ( i.e., phobic to darkness ) even more than darkness I was scared of the thunder an lightening . I saw the lightening bolt outside through the window so I pressed my palms against my ears and went under the dining table as I was really scared about the outcome ( i.e., the thunder). 

My palms were all sweaty , I could feel the sweat trickling down from my forehead to my cheek and then getting evaporated , and then things started appearing in front of my eyes . 

I was suddenly in an airport helping myself with my tickets and passport at the counter for a trip to Paris with my best friend Cora . She was friend since the first day of my school in Grade 7 as I had just transferred from Canada to New York. 

We even studied in same high school...

and now we were heading towards Paris together to enjoy our vacation and get some break from our busy schedule. It was six hours long flight to reach our destination. It was time for our flight we checked in and sat in our seat my seat was beside the window and Cora's was near the corridor.

The whole of four hours was not exactly boring as both Cora and I had downloaded a lot of videos. Suddenly our airplane started shaking and making noise. I could also hear a lot of thunder . When I looked outside it was dark and only dark clouds could be seen . Lights were dim inside the plane . I was really very scared I held my head and bent down . Cora was a really very brave girl, she suddenly took off her seatbelt and stood up to help the air hostess. I tried my best to stop her and to make her sit back on her seat but she did not listen. Suddenly the weather became extremely unpleasant , the airplane was also out of control it was really frightening experience when the plane was shaking vigorously. When the plane was out of control one of the air hostess and Cora had fallen down. 

As the lights were all dim it was hardly possible to see Cora. Suddenly a woman started screaming . When the other passenger asked her she pointed towards a girl and told that the girl had banged her head and now there were blood on the floor. I took off my belt immediately and headed towards the body scared trying to figure out where to place my foot next . When I went close to the body I realized that it was Cora who had banged her head, her face was facing towards the ground and when I tried to lift it up I could feel something warm it was her blood. It covered almost half of her face, she really had a deep cut on her forehead and blood was oozing continuously I tried to wake her up but she was in an unconscious state. I called out for help and a person came to help with a first aid kit , but when he tried to check her pulse he could not find it he checked in various places but still it was impossible to find it. I started crying all my heart out as my best friend had left me all alone, many people started consoling me but it was really hard for me to stop. I started to blame myself thinking that it was all my fault for making plans to go to Paris, my fault because I was unable to stop her from opening her seat belt , my fault for not being by her side. 

Suddenly I could not see anything, everything went black in front of my eyes. 

Lights suddenly came back and I opened my eyes with my cheeks all wet I said to myself, 'It was just hallucination'. I got up washed my face and took my medicine which my psychiatrist .

Those two hours was a very tough time for me but it has already been five years since the accident but I still feel that it was all my fault.
