The scars were clear, unlike his head.

He gulped down the bitter liquid.But it couldn't burn him.

his eyes were blank and screams filled his ears.He was the most powerful wolf in the entire pack.But at this moment he felt powerless.He needed someone to lean on.

Her perfectly manicured hands snaked on his back.He sighed.

"Baby.." She purred.

"Do you have any plans tonight?" Her sultry voice rang on his ears.

" Melica, I am tired."

"But Nate...." She pouted that seemingly cute but failed to touch his heart.

"I need a sleep."He said sternly.

With a sigh the female get out of the bed and walked off.He heard the fading sound of her heels.he needed a sleep for sure.And he let the sleep consume him.

Johnson was sitting on the chair across the alpha's.A sinister smile flashing his lip curving on the corner to show his elongated teeth as he looked at the picture of his so-called son Nathan. His stepson became a monster just like he wanted him to be.Johnson knew that he is the one that made Nathan a monster,just like him.Nathan was his favourite creation,the doll in his hands.

The 'creak' of the door made his head snap.

"Good morning dad. What brings you here?"

"ah..Nate.Today you have to visit south.There is a group of rogues that we must deal with."

The younger male nodded.

"Their leader is a female.Be careful with them .I heard they have some best warriors.So either invite them in or kill them at any cost." his voice heavy with calculation.

"Yes dad."

Johnson's corner lip stretch for a smile.He always loved when Nathan obey him without a word.That's what he wanted him to be,a puppet for him.

"I will inform beta Xavier."

The journey was quiet.But Nathan's mind was in chaos.He was tired of the bloodshed.Killing the innocent made him weak.His soul was broken and beyond redemption.And nobody was not aware that their alpha is losing himself.

Xavier watched the narrow path in front of him.It has been a half an hour journey.They will reach the destination in ten minutes.He cast a glance at Nathan.He knew Nathan for a long time.But today his alpha was a stranger to him, nothing more.

He still remembers the day former alpha brought a boy home.His eyes were swollen and cheeks dried with tears.After a lot of useless approach he talked to Xavier.And then they made best friends together with Alex.But today his eyes are blank and lifeless.Something gradually made him a shell. And Xavier doubted that his changes somehow related to former alpha.He was ruthless in his fresh memories.He had killed many, no he destructed many.But gradually he changed or he did think so.

"Alpha we are reaching"

"hmm" he mumbled.

There was a building in middle of thick trees.Nathan hit with a scent of vanilla and sandalwood.He could hear sound of laugh coming from there.A feeling that never he felt for past twenty years overcome him.He felt home.His wolf was restless for some reason.

He knocked the door.

The door opened showing a women with full teeth smile.Her smile died as she sighted the guest.

"Nathan...." fear dripping her voice.

His eyes widened in realization.

Xavier heard some rogue calling his alpha by name. He felt angry for the disrespect. He quickly marched ready to rip her throat apart.But sight of the women with familiar blue eyes made him weak.

"Lilly..."

Xavier mumbles for which her head snapped to his direction.Xavier watched as his alpha's head hanging down with guilt.

Nathan didn't dare to look at her.

"I am sor.."

"Why are you here?"she shouted.Her voice dripping disgust.

Xavier gritted out his teeth as she continue to disrespect his alpha.But she has every right to do so.

"Lilly, I am here to take you to my territory."

"As prisoners...."She spat for which she  greeted with silence.

"I am not going anywhere near him.I don't want to set a foot there.That is a hell." She yelled, her eyes blurring with tears.

"But you have to..." He said.

He didn't want to cause her more damage.And he couldn't defy his father.

He took a deep breath.

"I,Nathan King, the alpha of Silver night pack order you to follow me to my pack.

Lilly felt the surge of power vibrating through her body.

Xavier felt power radiating from Nathan for which he submit his head.

Lilly can't defy his alpha orders and alpha powers.

"Yes alpha." Her  voice shakes.

Lilly entered the house leading the way for Nathan and Xavier.

"Everyone.."

All of the heads snapped towards the unfamiliar scents that the strangers brought.

Xavier take a look at the rogue group.He heard someone coming from the probably kitchen area.The smell that the new person brought hit him like a truck.He took a big whiff of fresh rain smell and stared at the origin.

His eyes widened as his wolf howled in joy.

"MINE...." He growled.

His eyes met with a pair of striking blue eyes.He was small compared to Xavier.His skin pale as paper with long messy black hair.

He was beautiful.

For a moment Xavier forgot to take breath.

He walked towards him.He raised the smaller male's chin with his fingers.That simple touch shoot fireworks throughout his body.He looked into the blue eyes that now filled with unshed tears.

"Where have you been..? I have been searching for you."

That made a lone tear escape the young male's eyes.

"Mine" The small male cried with a breathy smile as he embraced his mate in a tight hug.

The journey was quiet.Nathan noticed Xavier glancing his mate,Jonas occasionaly. He was happy for them.Finding mate was a dream in his teenage but lose as life take in.And his dad decided Melica as his wife-to-be. After that he didn't dared to wish for a mate.The thought of having a mate shuddered him.He knew her heart is going to break and her broken heart is going to crush the sanity left in him.He was cursed and he knew it.

He heard Xavier's voice.

"So is there only seven people in the group?"

His expecting eyes staring through the rear-view mirror.

Jonas was the one to answer.

"No.We are nine people in total.Our first in command and second in command went to a trip.They are coming back today.I think they will follow our scent to your pack."

Nathan wondered about their leader.She must be a wonderful person because he never saw a group of rogue like them.They are nothing like rogues.They felt like a family.

Nathan sat on his office.His hands found an old album. He opened certain page and stared at the picture.His moistening eyes found his childhood,the trio him,Xavier and Alex.Alex's smile as bright as he remember.His dimples in show and eyes squinting with mischief.And Lilly is the female version of Alex, his little sister.She reminded of him so much making his sin weigh more.

The phone in the table rang searing his thoughts with a screeching cry.

"Yes"

"Alpha, there are two rogues at the entrance reporting that you have taken their people."The person on the other end said.

"Take them to my office.'

"Yes alpha.

After fifteen minutes a knock has been heard.

"Come in"

The scent of sandalwood and vanilla entered the room.He  looked at the foreign person.His eyes widened as he look at her.His heart beating frantically against his rib cage.

Her emerald green eyes as wide as his.Her flame red hair flowing wildly.

He takes shaky steps towards her.He looked her with so much adoration.

They stared at each other.The world around them vanished.

As he reached near she raised her hands to touch him for which he responded with bending his face over to meet her eyes.She took his head on her small hands.She touched his forehead with her,their nose rubbing each other.

At that moment he felt peace.He felt complete.He knew he found his home.His wolf howled in joy.

He said with smile "mine".

And she repeated after him.

Minutes passed before he regain his composure.Johnson's smirk flashed before him.His eyes frantically roam around the room to find the coal black eyes.His heart hyped at the thought of Johnson knowing his one more weakness.

He distanced himself from her.His action made her heart squeeze with pain.Her wolf cried in rejection.

"I can't accept you." His heart breaking into pieces as he said those words.

Her eyes wide in shock.

"Why..."her sound came merely as a whisper.

His heart squeezed at the desperation her voice filled.

Suddenly a loud growl erupted from the hall shaking the entire building.

FIFTEEN MINUTES AGO

Lilly stared at the photo on the wall which was there as she remembers.Then she heard the sound of the man she has been avoiding of.He was the nightmare that pulling her down.Johnson is the cause of many sleepless nights she suffered.She despised him with passion.He never failed to scare her even if it is in dream.

"What we have here?" His voice held a cruel excitement that shook her soul.

"Lilly, is that you?"

She took a few steps back as she found his eyes.And this made his smile widen.

He walked towards her making them close to each other.

"Although you reek like a rogue you've grown into a beautiful woman." She felt bile rising on her throat.

He raised his hand to touch her cheek as he speak.

Her heart aggresively beat against her rib cage.Tears gathered on her eyes making them fall.The scent of fear thick in the room.She shut her eyes tightly.

Then she felt him.The familiar scent of chocolate filled her nose making her heart calm.He was her saviour on her darkest days.He was the one that pulled her from the darkness.Her guardian angel,her mate Ezra.

"Don't you dare to lay your filthy hands on her?"

A foreign sound rang making other wolves to take defensive stance.This made Johnson look back.

"May I ask who are you pup?"

Ezra growled showing his now elongated teeth.His eyes changing colours as he tried to calm his wolf.

"I am her mate and now I am going to rip your heart".He sneered at Johnson.

This snapped Johnson.He hissed through his fangs ready to pounce.

But someone meddled between them.

Nathan stared at Lilly who is now a mess with tear.Then he looked at Johnson.

His eyes glow black.

He took a deep breath which followed by a sigh.

"Dad, please stop this"

Johnson growled, alpha power seeping through him.But he noticed Nathan eyes turning gold which brought him to reality.He knew that it is not the right time.

"If you say so..."

"okay" He bitterly spoke out.

He walked towards the entrance and turned once to meet Nathan's eyes.

"I hope you for the meeting today."

He nodded.

"Yes dad."

Nathan left the hall without a word immediately after Johnson went.

The night had fallen.

Her heavenly scent clouding the room.He heard her soft sob that mixed with hiccups as it echoed in the room.He noticed  silhouette of a small woman sitting on the bed.

He reached for her.

"Lilly..."He mumbled.

Lilly felt the bed dip by his weight.His long hand takes her in a hug squashing her face against his hard chest.Her ears met his heart beat picking up as she cling on to him tightly.

That moment her demons faded in the darkness.He was the one that always fought her demons away.His love for her was the only thing that kept her sane.

He let her cry on his arms. Patted her back soothingly only to make her remember that he is here, with her.

Nathan looked at the wall clock.

9.30 pm

It has been three years since he last saw Lilly.Today he is going to get the pain he deserves.Today is supposed to be a happy day for him.Because he found his mate.But LIlly's eyes haunted him,accused him for what he had done.

His memories resurfaced once again,the same memories that he want to forget forever,the memories he always wanted to reverse, the memories made him a shell that he is today.

Flashback-

On that great sunny day they decided to go for a run.It had been many days since they go for a run together.They undress themselves in the hide of trees.Snapping and breaking of bones echoed in the air.Leaving the skin behind they leapt for a run together.Entire run was fun with competitions and  playful fights.But something was off about Alex.His face failed to mask the emotions that his friends didn't failed to notice.

"Whats's wrong Alex?" Nathan asked.Xavier looked at him in confusion.

"I don't know.But I feel something is wrong."

"Then let's go back."

The trio went back to the pack house.But as they reached there Lilly's screams were filling the pack house.Nathan ordered Xavier to get pack doctor and warriors as a precaution.The rest ran to find Lilly.And it was from his room.They shoved the door together.Lilly is being voilated by him,Johnson.She was struggling to get away from.But he didn't let her go.His weight pinned her down.This made Alex fury.He pounced on Johnson.Everything went in a swift motion.Alex's growl rang on the entire building.Johnson shrugged him off.

"Kill him."Johnson growled towards Nathan.But he didn't move an inch.

"I said KILL him."He screamed, his voice dripping venom.

"No.I can't." He whispered.

A sinister laugh crossed his lips.His puppet dared to disobey him.

Johnson knew that with his alpha powers killing Alex is an easy task.But he wanted Nathan to kill him because he want to inflict that pain on him.For that he had a better plan.

"I can make you to" Johnson snickered between the fights.

He hit Alex and he fell on the ground with a thud.

Johnson raised his clawed hands aimed at Lilly who is crying with fear.Nathan's eyes widened and a terror ran through his spine.

"Kill him, now"

Alex stared at his friend.Many emotions swirling in his eyes.Nathan looked at Lilly.Her fragile body is shaking all over.Her eyes tightly shutting as his teasing claws piercing her neck slowly .

Nathan looked at his friend.Alex saw Nathan's eye filling with unshed tears.They filled with confusion,regret,desperation,pain and all of the above care.His hand shook as he raise claws out of them.

With a soft smile Alex lunge towards him.

A fight took place in the room.A war took place in his head.

In a moment of uncertainity he clawed Alex's heart.He fell on the ground with a thud followed by Nathan who fell on his knees beside him.

Alex saw pain in his eyes.He saw fear for him.His corner lip tugged upward for a weak smile.

"protect her, please.."He whispered.

Xavier hurriedly took doctor and warriors with him.He smelled blood in the pack house.He marched towards the source but the scene front of him made him numb.He saw  Lilly sitting on the corner, terror evident on her eyes.On the other side Alex's lifeless body lying near with Nathan on his knees.His hand dripping blood, Alex's blood.

Xavier didn't understand what happened.But he felt hollowness that Alex's loss made and angry towards Nathan although he didn't knew what happened.

On the third day Alpha Johnson issued an order of life long imprison for Lilly for which Xavier watched Nathan hurriedly went to meet alpha.After that the order changed to eviction of Lilly from the pack.

But little did Xavier know that Nathan tolerated many silver blades and wolf bane to change the order.

Nathan noticed the time ticked into 10 pm,breaking him from thoughts.With a loud intake of breath he made his way to Johnson's room.

'knock'

"Come in."His voice filled with silent warning.

Nathan stepped into the room.The sound of the metal clinking against the floor as Johnson walked towards him.

"You can take off the shirt."

"We can't risk someone knowing their mighty alpha is being punished,right?" His voice dripping venom.

He took off his shirt.

With  a loud clank the whip made contact with his skin, silver blade tearing his skin taking a chunk of meat a it returned to it's owner.
