The world was of chaos and war. The world was full with many
monsters and demons. Murderers and thieves started to rise for their survival
needs. The world came to the law of jungle: survival of the fittest. Mankind
became hateful to each other. But a leader rose and remade mankind and took the
initiative to fight against the monsters and demons. After a century of blood
shedding the humans finally won their first battle in history. A statue was
craved for him and his name was well known across the world, his name was Feng Tai.
On February 29th of 500C.E. an albino child was born. On that day, any child born was considered as a curse. The parents were
extremely unhappy. News spread across Tota village that a child has been born
in the yang family. The patriarch of the village immediately ordered the
killing of the child. There was crisis going on: famine and war. As soon as the
father heard the news, he took a pin on from the drawer and pricked his finger. He wrote the name the piece of cloth of the child, ‘Yang Ray’. He told his wife to take the child in a basket and put him in the river. The wife knew she didn’t have much choice either. She took the child to the calm river knelt at
the bank. She took out a piece of paper and wrote: child born in 29th February 500 C.E. Please take care of Ray.
The baby drifted along the river and it started to cry. A man in his 40’s from the middle of the woods heard the noise. He rushed across
the woods and came near the bank. He saw the basket and jumped into the river.
He swam against the currents and brought the basket back safely to the shore.
He saw the baby and was extremely happy. “God has blessed me with a boy”, he
said. He was happy because he wanted to have a child whom he can pass his
knowledge to. He took the child to his house and plucked a rose from his garden
he pulled out the insides of the flower and made it into a n*pple. He then took
a bottle and milked a cow, and then he closed it with the rose and tied it with
a cloth. In this way he gave the baby milk. He hunted dears and rabbits for
their skin and flesh. He cooked the flesh and dried the skin so that he can
make clothes out of it. He didn’t have money cause he was poor farmer. He waited for 5 years since he grew so that he could pass his knowledge.
It was March 1st and the farmer called Yang,”
Yang, today is the day I’ll pass you my knowledge about the world. Do you
understand?” “ Dad has gone crazy again,” Yang said. “What!! Oi punk I’ll beat
you up,” the farmer said exaggeratingly. “Okay, please teach me. But in one
condition,” Yang retorted. “Whats the condition?” asked the farmer. “When I want
to give up in any activities you must not take any pity on me,” Yang replied.
The farmer was a bit surprised. Usually kids don’t ask these types of
conditions. So what, he is a cursed child so he definitely will be different,
he thought. This will be my last experiment and this time I’m sure it will
succeed. “Okay. Condition accepted. Follow me and from now onwards I’ll be your
master,”the farmer replied. The farmer led the boy to the river and that’s where
all the pain and suffering of Yang will begin.
They reached the river and that brought memories to the
farmer. ”This is the place where you were born,” he said. Yang did not answer.
“Okay today I will teach you how to swim. Got it?” he said. He did not bother
to reply. He was thinking about why his father
wanted to pass down his knowledge to him. “Dad why do you want to pass your
knowledge to me?” he asked. The farmer looked at him in awe. “That’s because I
have a dream to accomplish. And that dream will be accomplished through you. I
hope you won’t ask any more questions about it. I’ll tell you more about it
when the time comes,” he said sternly. Yang nodded his head.
The farmer walked towards the bushes and pulled a small boat. He pushed it
towards the river. At the bank he dipped the boat into the river and told Yang
to get inside the boat. Yang got in and the farmer further pushed the boat and
hopped into it. He took out the rows which were on the seats and began to row. “Today
I will teach you how to swim. Do you understand?” the farmer said. “Yes,” came
the reply. “Once you learn how to swim, you will catch your own food from then
onwards. Okay?” the farmer said. Yang nodded his head. “But if I couldn’t catch
any fish. What will happen?” he asked. “You won’t get any food,” the farmer
replied smiling. ”Don’t worry. I will teach you how to swim like a fish. I will
teach you for three days and by that time u must master it. Otherwise no food.”
They continued to travel down the river and finally reached a calm and beautiful
lake. The river was running but the water of the lake was calm. There were
mountains which stood tall and had a milky white peak. The lake water reflected
the sky and it felt like travelling across the sky. Yang bent over to look at
his reflection. He jumped back into the boat. For the first time he had seen
his face. He told to his master, ”there is someone looking at me when I look at
the water.” The master laughed loudly. “That’s too funny. That’s your
reflection. That is you each time you look into the water. Describe what you
saw in the water,” he said. “He has white hair. His left eye is red and the
right eye is green. He looks sad and he looks amazed. So this is how I look
like,” he said. He was silent for a while. ”I don’t understand. Why do we look
different? You don’t look like me at all, master. You have black hair and black
eyes. Why do I look so different from you?” he asked his master tearfully. The master
took a deep breath and replied,” You are a cursed child, if you really want to
know. You were born on the 29th of February which makes you
different from others. But as you are cursed you are also blessed with powers
or ability unlike the other children of your age. So don’t feel bad about it. No
matter what I will be your master.” Yang’s eyes filled with tears. But he didn’t
go to his master’s hands when he opened them. Instead he wiped his tears and
sat there angrily. “We came here to learn swimming right master? I won’t cry
anymore,” he said firmly. “That’s my boy. We are almost there,” the master
said. And now the struggle for learning how to swim will start.
They reached the bank of the
river and the farmer tied the boat to a tree. “Undress yourself and get into
the water. You don’t have spare clothes yet. I will go to the village day after
tomorrow and buy two sets of dress for you as your birthday gift,” he said.
Yang did what he was told and dipped into the water. He felt a coolness rushing
from his toe to head. His master followed after him. He raised his hands and
said,” give me both of your hands.” He did it. First try to release your body
weight. Let your body float freely. Now try to raise both of your feet up and
start kicking your legs up and down in short intervals quickly,” he commanded
him. Slowly by slowly, bit by bit, Yang was trying to cooperate. But every time
his master let his hands go he fell down and couldn’t continue.
“It’s too hard,” Yang wailed. “If
you complain and don’t practice it will definitely feel hard. It’s already
noon. I’m going to catch some fish and come back. Wait here and don’t wander
anywhere far,” his master said and dived into the water. Yang held his breath
and jumped into the water. He opened his eyes and saw fishes and other
creatures moving around. He noticed a fish nearby and observed it. It moved his
fins back and forth and used his tail to move forward. The fish used its fins
to change direction. He couldn’t hold his breath any longer and jumped to get
some air. He thought if he could do it.
He gave it a shot. Try to make my body float, he thought, and then kick the
water up to propel forward. Use the hands to push the water behind. And in no
time he was swimming. ”I finally did it. I finally did it,” he said excitedly. Then
he felt pain in his muscles and was starting to huff. After a while, he felt
extremely tired. He swam back to the shore with his remaining strength and
closed his eyes. He soon fell into a deep sleep.
On the other hand the farmer was
hunting fishes. He had been holding his breath for five minutes already. He saw
plenty of fishes but they were too small. Suddenly a shoal of large fishes
passed him. He looked around to see any signs of danger. He saw the red angler
fish. It was about 8 feet long and had numerous teeth. Its skin was red and it
had claws and walking logs. He hid himself behind a rock and waited till it
swam away. After the red angler left he hunted the shoal of large fishes. He swam
and killed the fishes by breaking the tail so that it could no longer swim. Later
on, he returned with 12 fishes.” Today’s a lucky catch, I got more than
expected,” he complimented and praised himself. He looked all over the places
for Yang and saw him lying on the bank. He swam underwater to give him a
surprise. He reached the place where Yang was sleeping and jumped. He expected
a scream or a frightened face. But when he saw he was still sleeping and he
felt like an idiot.
He dressed Yang and carried him back to the boat. He threw the fishes into the
boat and pushed it to the lake. He looked at the surrounding and gave a deep
sigh. I couldn’t find the soul fragment of the 13th disciple of the
martial god, no matter what I will find it someday, he thought and rowed the
boat back home.
