Chapter 1: Lies
Jessica kept her coat aside and walked upto the man sitting on the leather chair in the huge study room. His stature was perfect and straight. He looked handsome.
Ian Jameson
Where were you, love?
His icy blue eyes held an unknown emotion that Jessica did not see.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and placed a kiss on his cheek while she spoke.
Jessica Mendes
Baby, I told you I was going to meet my friends. Did you forget?
Ian Jameson
Oh, yes, you did. I might have forgotten. *smiles softly*
Jessica nodded and kept her cheeks against his while he worked on his laptop. Jessica saw the reports that were showing on the laptop and stiffened slightly but did not let out a sound.
Jessica Mendes
You shouldn't work too much. That's why you forgot. You stress yourself too much.
Jessica Mendes
You just say but don't ever listen to me.
Jessica Mendes
Ian, are you mad at me?
Jessica Mendes
You're unusually quiet. Did I... do something wrong?
Jessica asked hesitantly but when he shook his head she let out a sigh internally.

I love you. I'll go and freshen up. I'll wait for you in the dining room. Don't keep me waiting.
With that, she kissed on his cheek again and then stood up and went to their room.
Ian kept staring at the closed door with a sad look and smiled sadly.

Chapter 2: MISSION IJ
It was late at night around 1 am. Ian was sleeping on the bed in their huge bedroom with Jessica next to him.
Jessica looked up at his face that looked so handsome. His eyes peacefully closed and lips slightly parted. His one arm underneath her head while the other was around her waist.
Jessica extended her hand slowly and carefully caressed his cheek with her soft thumb.
Suddenly, she remembered something and then got off the bed. She then went to their walk in closet.
She opened the drawer where her lingeries were kept then extended her and took out a hidden mobile that was behind all her lingeries.
There were numerous text messages that appeared as soon as she turned on the mobile.

We need the reports quickly, Jessica or you'll lose your job.
Jessica closed her eyes as she sat on the ottoman kept in the middle of their walk in closet and she sighed deeply.
After spending a while in the closet, she kept the mobile back into the drawer and walked to the bedroom then laid next to Ian.
After about five minutes, Ian opened his eyes and looked at the sleeping Jessica in his arms. He placed a kiss on her head and closed his eyes.
In the morning, Ian woke up early and took shower then got ready for office.
He wore a black three piece suit and black leather shoes. His short thick and soft chestnut brown hairs were tasseled behind. His beard was neatly trimmed.

Love, I'm leaving for office. I'll see you at night.
He pecked Jessica on forehead.
Jessica Mendes
Ian, wait. Have breakfast before you leave.
Ian Jameson
I've an urgent work, love. I'll have it later in the office.
Ian left for office while Jessica kept staring at his back.

At this, Ian smiled gently as he spoke.

Chapter 3: Love, it hurts now.
It was 10 PM at night when Ian returned home. He walked to the master bedroom and found the room door slightly open.
Just when he was about to enter, he heard Jessica's voice.
Jessica Mendes
Sir, I'm sorry. I will my work properly.
Jessica Mendes
Yes, yes. I'm going to get it.
Jessica Mendes
Never. I never forgot what he did.
Ian who was standing outside closed his eyes and took a deep breath in then he slowly walked inside without making a single sound.
Ian Jameson
Love, what are you doing? When will you stop? It hurts now.
Jessica flinched hearing his voice and quickly hung up the call then turned to him.
Ian Jameson
Yeah, it's me. Can I not come into my own room?
He took off his suit jacket along with necktie and threw them on the bed. He kept the folder he had in his hand on the bed as well then unbuttoned the top two buttons of his white shirt and folded the sleeves upto his elbow.
Jessica Mendes
N-no, that's not what I meant...
Ian Jameson
Then what, love?
His voice was so calm and gentle that Jessica couldn't comprehend if he was angry or not.
He cut her off by pressing his index finger on her soft lips.
She looked up and her breath hitched looking at him. He was so handsome. His icy blue eyes held pain and the look of betrayal and disappointment. She couldn't take this.
Ian Jameson
Officer Mendes, I'm proud of you.
Jessica froze when he called her 'Officer Mendes'.
Jessica Mendes
Y-You knew everything?
He smiled softly and sadly.
Jessica Mendes
Ian, listen to me. It's...
He pressed his finger on her lips gently and whispered.
Ian Jameson
Shh. Don't speak. Not today. Please.
Jessica felt her heart hurt for some reason when she saw his hurt looks. Her eyes unknowingly started watering.
Seeing the tears in her eyes, Ian was hurt. He did not mean to hurt her. He never did.
For her, he even hid everything just so he could keep her by his side and not hurt her.
He would never even try to hurt the only person whom he loved so dearly.
He extended his hands and cupped her small face in his hands then wiped her tears with his thumbs.
Ian Jameson
Don't cry. It hurts more.
At this point, Jessica cried more. She was hurt for no reason.
Jessica Mendes
Ian, please.... I...
He once again cut her off.
Jessica Mendes
When... did you... find out?
He smiled bitterly and spoke.
Ian Jameson
Three years back after three months of our relationship.
Jessica's face stiffened. She couldn't believe that the man knew everything but did not do anything to her knowing how he killed every person who even lied to him let alone betray him.
She felt a little guilty.
She lowered her head as tears trickled down her eyes.
Ian Jameson
Stop crying, love. I should cry because my wife is an officer who came with two motives.
Jessica looked up at him with tearful eyes and bit her lower lip.
Ian looked down at her lips and frowned when he saw blood.
He extended his thumb and gentle rubbed her lower lip then leaned down and pressed his lips on hers capturing her lips into a very gentle kiss.
A lone tear escaped his eyes as he kissed her and sucked her lower lips tasting her blood.
She was the one who brought light in his life and now she was also the reason for his tears which never appeared in his eyes in all these 15 years after his parents died.
Jessica did not stop him and kissed him back gently while she sobbed in his arms.
