It's been a week since I transferred to Yume High School and just like the name indicates, being in this school is like a dream. All of the people in this school are really nice, with the exception of a few.
The facilities that they possess are more than adequate. Each class has a common room where they can hang out during lunch and break, filled with a pull table and a TV. The school really spoils its students. It is, after all, a school for the rich.
Me? I'm just your ordinary girl. Well, apart for the fact that I'm anything but rich. My father past away a year ago and I've been trying to survive on my own ever since. Never once did I shed a tear or did I look down at myself pitifully. I need to live my life in happiness, for my dad's sake.
As I was carrying a box from the classroom to the faculty office, I heard the sound of punches being thrown outside. Curious, I took a glance out of the window and my eyes tensed. Of course, it was only a matter of time before I saw him fight. Eric Jackson, the notorious bad boy of the school.
His father is one of the richest entrepreneurs in the country and I guess when you have money, anything is possible. I watched intently while his fist connected to his opponent's jaw. After he finally got them all onto the ground, he knelt down and picked up a notebook. It had a cool doodle pattern on it.
Then, he looked up and somehow, our gaze met. And just like the autumn breeze, a wave of warmth overcame me suddenly, despite the window being shut. "Anna! There you are!" Turning around, I saw one of the girls from my class. "You're going to the faculty office, aren't you? Here, could you take my class's reports with you?"
But this box was already so... Before I could rhetort, she placed her thick stack of papers onto the box, almost making me fall over. She then smiled and ran away, leaving me alone. This school is huge. It will take me 15 minutes to get to the faculty office.
Don't frown, Anna! Look for the silver lining! Your arm muscles will get bigger! I then smiled and carried the box along with the documents down the stairs and across the playground. My long blond hair fluttered in the wind as I couldn't help but smile. From the shadow of a tree, someone observed me, grinning from ear to ear.
I only got into this school by a scholarship. My grades were excellent and since they needed someone who would tutor the students after class, I offered to help. If a student I tutor gets better marks in their next exam, I get some money which helps me pay for my rent and other necessities. It's a win-win situation. This is why this place is ideal. If I work here for the next three years, I'll have enough money to go to college and maybe university. This is why I need to keep the students favour, no matter what.

"And that's why you should do that, do you understand that?" My last tutor student of the day nodded as my alarm then started to ring in the school library. "Well, I guess that is all that we have today. Make sure to remember the formulas, I know that you were wobbled on them a bit!"
As he left, I took out a notebook and ticked off a box next to his name, and started to write down what he had done better and what he still needed to improve on. Taking a flask filled with coffee out of my bag, I took a quick sip before putting it away.
I won't lie, I'm exhausted. Tutoring students and juggling my own studies is tiring but alright. I attend classes just like a normal student during the day and tend to these tutoring sessions for 2 hours after school ends. Already, I've earned enough money this week to pay off the backlog of rent that I owe Mrs Johnson, my landlady. My purse is filled with cash...
As I finished writing, I picked up my pen and headed out of the empty library. I wonder what I should have for dinner tonight! Seasoned pork? Or a nice juicy steak. I'm allowed to splurge today and today only!
Turning the corner as I came out of the school, I then stopped as I saw Eric walk into an alley. What is he doing in there? Could he be in trouble? I decided to investigate. That was my first mistake.
As I approached it, I then saw him put out his hand in front of a small timid boy in our year. The boy then reluctantly handed over a wallet, which he took and counted the money inside. Was his extortion?
Then, the boy ran away, leaving Eric all by himself in the alleyway. I froze, I couldn't move. I knew that he got into fights but extortion? A sudden wave of courage overcame me as I shouted down his way "H-Hey! Don't take his money!"
His head pivoted as it looked right towards me. My face was determined but scared.
He then walked towards me and I didn't step back. I tried my best not to shiver but. I wasn't going to let that slide! He then hit me on the head with a notebook lightly, making my eyes close.
"Your notes... they are helpful." Hold on, my notes? I opened my eyes and saw one of the copies of notes that I give my tutoring students. "Hold on, how did you get that? I only give them to my tutoring students!" He looked at me blankly. "Specs gave it to me." Gave or was forced to give up? I glared at him angrily, which made him look uncomfortable.
"You're really a weird girl. No one has dared talk to me so imprudently before. You want to tell on me for extortion? Fine, but if you do, I'll tell everyone in the school that their angel lives in an old shack on the outskirts of town. Alone." And this is how it all began. The blackmail, the agreement... and the relationship.

I walked into school awaiting the worst news possible. I was waiting for everyone to glare at me like I was an outsider, waiting for someone to push me onto the ground and call me a third-class citizen. But none of that happened. Everyone greeted me per usual, and some girls even invited me out for cake after school, which I politely declined.
What's going on? Wasn't he going to tell everyone? He knows my secret so why hasn't he spread the word? Then, I saw the person who he called Specs walk up the corridor. "Hey there! Remember me?" He nodded and said "Yeah, you're Anna Taylor! Everyone knows you!" I smiled. "You know, if Eric is extorting money from you, you should say something!"
"Extorting money? What are you talking about?" Hold on, he wasn't taking money from him? He then smiled and said "Oh, that. Some guys stole my sketching notebook and Eric went to retrieve it. He told me to keep hold of his wallet just in case one of the guys swiped it off of him. I gave him your study notes as thank you for retrieving it." Gosh, did I misunderstand him that bad? He's not a bad guy after all, I made assumptions that I shouldn't have. "Um, do you know where I might be able to find him?"
On the school roof. Of course he's there. Going up there is just asking for a fight with him so no one dares approach the roof, not even the teachers. It's like his own private condo. As I walked up the stairs, I eventually opened up the door, my hands shaking. And there he was...
His body frame was handsome. I could tell that he works out. A quick gust of wind made all of the leaves on the ground fly up and brush off the edge as I stared at him intently. He looked so handsome...
He then glanced my way and I stiffened up. "W-Why... why didn't you tell anyone about my situation?" He then looked back up into the sky. "I don't know what you're talking about." I grumbled. "I know that you didn't extort that guy! You're not a bad guy so why do you pretend to be one?"
He then got up and grinned at me. "You interest me, Anna Taylor. A lot. You know, no one dares to come up here. I'll show you how bad I can really be."
Before I could do anything, he grabbed my wrist and brought me in for a kiss. I could smell his scent, it was... warm and fresh. As his lips stole away my first kiss, I suddenly wondered how impulsive he truly was. As he parted our mouthes, he then looked at me and blushed.
My eyes were wide and my mouth was unemotional. I was frozen in shock. What did he... just do? Did he just... steal my first kiss? "Your... your breath stinks of mint." That's all I could say. Then, he snorted and laughed. He laughed at the top of his lungs madly, as of he had seen the funniest thing in the world. "Oh, Anna Taylor... I want you even more now! Let's make a deal... I'll keep your secret as long as you become mine. Sound good?"
