Before reading my story I must warn you that there is Domestic Abuse, Drugs and Alcohol, and mature themes. So if you don't want to read about these types of things please select a different book.
Just understand that I do not condone domestic abuse, but it is in the book for a reason. For that reason, you must read to find out.
Also, when I first started writing this book I was only 15 so it might be a little cringey and the spelling might be off. The way it was written might seem a little bland. However, don't worry because when I am all done I plan to revise the whole entire thing.
My five-year-old brother ran into my room, jumping on my bed he screams "Leah, wake up! Today is mating day." I woke with his brown eyes staring straight into mine. The Annual Pack Mating Ceremony was the only day where all the English packs in Romania unite to find their mates. Every wolf that is eighteen or still unmated has to attend this ceremony. However, most wolves find their mate at eighteen.
Blake, my brother who has grown attached to me doesn't understand what will happen if I found my mate today. I would basically have to leave and join his pack if he has a high rank, but I am high ranking as well. My family has a strong bloodline of warriors. Even though my mother is a half witch, she still has a warrior bloodline from her dad, my grandfather. My bloodline is still considered pure because no one knows that I have witch blood. I snapped out of my thoughts when saw Blake pull all my clothes out of my drawers.
"Blake! What are you doing?" I asked.
"I'm helping you pick clothes." He said.
"Blake," I got up and stopped him from making more of a mess. "I am wearing a dress today," told him.
"Why?" He asked looking puzzled at me.
"It is a special day, I have to look my best." I already knew that my mate wasn't in my pack because as soon as I turned eighteen there was a special celebration held in my honor. I saw every pack member that day and didn't find him.
My mom came in and told me breakfast was ready. That being mentioned, Blake sprinted out of my room. My mom had beautiful blond hair just like me, but she had a couple of grey stands. Her eyes were an emerald green like mine. I pretty much got all my looks from her.
I stayed behind and straightened up my room, then I decided to have a quick shower before going downstairs for breakfast. My dad and I were the last two at the table.
"You know what today is right?" He dreaded the question.
How could I forget, my family and pack have been bugging me about this event ever since I turned eighteen. Obviously, he meant the Mating Ceremony, but today for him is basically like the human version of a wedding.
"I know, but dad I'll always be your little girl," I told him sincerely.
"I know Leah, I am just worried. What if you get a bad mate?" He asked clearly concerned.
"I will be okay, Dad I'm a warrior just like you and mom," I exclaimed proudly, mostly trying to ease the worry my Dad was feeling. I look at my dark-haired father who had brown eyes.
"What about that Alpha Alex guy, you know he's going." He said uneasily.
"Dad, his name is Alec."
In today's time, that was the most well-known name of the shifters. Everyone knows not to mess with him because of his fierce reputation. I learned many unsettling things about him due to the history classes I took since he was such a threat to others. The werewolves that made history books decided to include him because they thought it was important to educate others about him. Regardless of what I read about him, I never really thought of him being a monster like everyone said he was. He was probably just broken inside, no one was born a monster.
"You know he hasn't found his mate yet." I continued with the conversation.
"For all we know, he probably killed her." He said. Then why would he be going to the mating ceremony, My wolf questioned.
"Well anyways, I better get ready," I said and went upstairs. I marched upstairs in a hurry and bumped into Mark, the alpha's son. I would have fallen down but Mark caught me, "Wow, Leah are you in a hurry or what. Are you eager to find your mate?" He asked with a smirk.
"Maybe," I replied.
Other than Xena, Mark was my best friend. Mainly because we lived in the same house and we're the same age. "Alrighty. Well, I'll let you go... literally." He begins to push me down the stairs but brought me back to him due to his impressive arm strength. I steadied myself and playfully punched him,
"Meanie," I muttered.
When I got to my room my mom came in just behind me. "Ready for today?" She asked.
"Yup," I Chirped.
"Alright well, let's get it done." She pulled out the black and red skin tight dress that I picked to wear weeks ago. Then she pulled out a curling iron and makeup. I groaned because I hate makeup, always have. I like natural beauty better anyways. Plus, I already have clear skin so I don't see the need for it. I don't even see why female shifters need foundation anyway, we all have clear skin. After an hour of curling my hair, my mom sets up her makeup.
"Ew, mom! No foundation." I put my hand up to protect my face from that poison. "I never understood you, my child." She smiled and put down the foundation. She accepted my wishes and only put on eyeshadow, mascara, and lip gloss.
The ceremony started at eleven a.m. Luckily, we weren't far from the ceremony because it was being held in the neighboring pack. I made myself a sandwich, suddenly feeling hungry again. I hugged Mark and Xena before we headed out to the car.
It was only my parents and I. The ride was a silent one until my dad spoke up, "Call us when you're ready to come home, okay? Uncle Jared will let you use his phone, or you could just stay the night."
"Okay. I think I left my phone at the house anyway" My nerves were eating me up right now.
"Are you okay?" My mom sensed my nervousness, with her special abilities. With her special gift, she successfully eased my nerves.
"Yes, Just worried. What if my mate doesn't like me?" I said.
"Nonsense, you're beautiful, smart, talented and I'm proud to have you as my daughter. Any man would be lucky to have you." Totally a mom answer, but I'll take it.
"Plus, the mate bond is the strongest thing known to werewolves. When I met your mother, I barely could keep my hands off." Dad added.
"Barely! What are you talking about Michael? You did not keep your hands off. That's just that." My dad blushed a little when my mom said that.
"But your mate better keep his hands off you." My dads face hardened. My mom rolled her eyes.
"Mike, she's eighteen now." My mom said.
He huffed, "I don't care she is still my daughter."
"Yeah well, she's finding her mate today so...." I zoned out on my parent's conversation and started looking more at the beautiful countryside scenery. It would be really pretty to take a run here. When I exercise it clears my mind and helps me think. I know everyone in my pack thinks I'm crazy for my love of exercise, but werewolves have excellent speed and strength. More than an average human so why not take advantage of it. My wolf was yipping in my head, so I was certain my mate would be at the ceremony. I rested my head on the cold car door and drifted off.
When we arrived, the party was already in motion. Us werewolves are classy creatures, therefore there was no loud high school teenage music, drugs, or booze. The only thing close, was some females with boobs halfway out their dress, but what would you expect in a Mating Ceremony? My parents dropped me off and I walked towards the pack house. I was very familiar with this area of land because I use to spend my summer vacations here. It has changed a lot in just two years.
"Leah! What a delightful surprise. It's been a while since I last saw you!" Luna Bethany greeted me. She is the mate to the alpha that is hosting the party.
Bethany was in our pack originally and she was best friends with my mom in high school. I have missed her so much and all of the lovely pack members that were here.
"Aunt Bethany!" I squealed and hugged her.
We had a lengthy conversation until her mate showed up behind her, snaking his arms around her waist. "Hey Lela, how have you been?" Alpha Jared created that nickname just for me. "Uncle J, I missed you." I hugged him as well. They weren't my aunt or uncle but they acted like that kind of figure to me.
"Alright, well you enjoy yourself, Lela." Uncle J said after our brief conversation. Apparently, duty calls for them, sucks when you have seven children. I made my way towards the center of the party. Keeping an eye out for my mate, I could easily see most females have found their's.
Two hours have gone by and all I've been doing is eating and drinking. I'm really starting to regret coming here, maybe I'm just mateless. My wolf growled at the thought. It was kind of sad watching all the newly mated wolves socialize with each other. I huffed and marched upstairs to find the bedroom that I used while staying here so I could use the bathroom.
When I opened the door I quickly shut it. Two people were having sex on the bed that I slept in for years, the gross images burned in my brain. That goes to prove that werewolves have classy parties but not all werewolves are classy themselves. I knock on the room beside it and, luckily, no one was there. After using the bathroom I headed downstairs. It was eerily quiet from the previous chatter and music. My nerves spiked but more importantly so did my wolf, and I was finally able to see the commotion.
A ruggedly handsome guy had walked through the door. No music and no chatter, Nothing. You could hear a pin drop. Everyone was staring so intensely at him, for I had a different reason that explained my stares. He is my mate; accompanied by two other men. Who was he? Whoever he is, he must be very known and powerful to make everyone stop and stare, or maybe it was his looks. He looked handsome, no doubt. My puzzled stare stopped when he smelt the air and his face snapped towards mine. Shifters say when you first lay eyes on your mate it is magical, and it was, only for a few seconds. I recognized his scars over his eyes, and his blind faded brown eyes set terror into mine. He could not see me, but I could see him. I had never seen him in person, only in pictures that were in the books, but with his power radiating aura- it was not hard to tell who he was. My human side, more on the side of common sense, told me to run, to get away. My wolf told me to stay, so I was torn in half. I didn't want to be around him because I have seen the aftermath of when my pack members have gone into his land. I may not think he is a monster, but I knew what he was capable of.
All eyes in the room followed his intense trance toward me. Even though he could not see me, everyone else could, and soon everyone in the room was looking at me. Judging from some of the stares by females, they are jealous. I did not understand how anyone could be jealous of this situation. Alec's face turned into anger and then an unreadable expression. I then gained the ability to move my feet. So I ran, as fast as I could in heels, trying to escape. I knew it would probably be pointless, but it was worth a try. Halfway up the stairs, I heard everyone start talking again. I sighed in relief when I locked myself in a random room and hid in the bathroom. A pounding sound on the door made my heart skip a beat. I didn't even realize how terrified I was until now. There was the sound of feet shuffling outside the door.
"Excuse me, Miss? Can you please open the door?" A light patient voice asked.
He seemed almost pleading; like trying to save me from someone's wrath. There was more shuffling at the door followed by a loud banging. "Open the damn door now!" A gruff voice sent a shiver down my spine, I could tell it was my mates.

I was scared and nervous, but I opened the door disregarding the feeling in the pit of my stomach. As soon as I opened the door Alec slammed me back into a wall and he buried his nose into my neck. My heart was pounding and I'm sure he could hear it. One of the men that accompanied Alec sensed my discomfort and fear.
The man then touched Alec's shoulder and said, "Alpha we should be heading out now."
Alec's hand gripped my wrist hard, "You're coming with me, back to my pack." He stated.
"No, I'm not." I pushed myself to say this. His nails were now digging into my skin. "Ouch! You're hurting me. Let me go!" I struggled to get my hand free.
The man gave me an apologetic look, "Alpha, you're hurting her." Alec retracted his hands while I rubbed my mine.
"Okay, let me make this clear," He sadistically smirked showing off his white teeth, "You either come with me or I'll declare war and slaughter your pack. You know I will."
My jaw dropped at his demands. "Are you serious?" This is absurd.
"Do I look like I'm joking?"
I could tell he wasn't, he meant every word. "I can't leave my family," I stated.
"You will. Or else you'll have none. If you don't come, I'll torture your family, even down to the youngest one." My mind wandered off to my goofy little brother, and he had crossed a line. My wolf growled angrily inside of me. I knew I'd regret these actions, but it was already too late. Before I knew it my hand came in contact with his cheek. The man beside Alec gasped.
Alec looked taken back at first, but then another devilish smirk appeared on his face.
"It's going to be like this then, Isn't it. Okay then, suit yourself." Alec shrugged and held out his hand as if waiting for something.
"Alpha..." The man, whose name is unknown, trailed off. Something is not right here, so I cautiously backed up.
"Now Rem!" Alec turned back to look at me, "Where are you going, little mate?"
Rem handed a familiar white piece of cloth to Alec. My eyes widened because I knew where this was heading. I tried to put up a fight but it was useless, he was overpowering. He pushed me to the ground and straddled me. Then he put the piece of cloth to my face and I could smell the chloroform. I struggled to get him off, but after a couple minutes, I started to fade away.
"Tell Axe to get the car..." I heard before I completely went unconscious.
•••••
I woke up in a different environment. I was in a room with black walls. Black is my favorite color, but that doesn't make me like this place. I was thankfully alone in this room, which gave me time to collect my thoughts. I can't believe that he kidnapped me. My family and friends must be worried sick.
There's a knock on the door. Alec walks in with clothes in his hands. "I have clothes for you." He stated gruffly. I hesitantly walked up to him and gathered them in my arms. I looked at his mysterious scars on his face once more.
"How did you get them?" I was nervous, and when I was nervous I say stupid things.
His face hardened, "Don't speak." I could sense this was a hard topic for him. I mean if I lost my eyesight then I would be like him too. I knew the reason he got the scars, that blinded him, was because of the legendary war that happened years ago. However, everyone wondered what was the cause of the scars because they were not scars from wolf claws, but something much different. It intrigued me.
Give him a chance, my wolf's thoughts fluttered through my mind.
"I'm setting rules. I don't ever want a mate, only my wolf does." He emphasized each word carefully through gritted teeth. I had flinched at every word. His words also took a tremendous toll on my wolf.
"Okay," I said softly.
He continues, "You aren't allowed to leave this house. You can't have any contact with males except my Beta Remmy, and you can't seek out any contact with your family or previous pack. Also, don't get your hopes up, you are only my mate by the goddess's choice. Therefore, I am not falling in love with you." I will admit his words did hurt, but he had no mercy for my feelings.
"Don't call me by my name. You call me Alpha. You also have no say in my pack matters. You are only here to make my wolf more powerful, and you're not the official Luna of this pack. You never will be." He finished. My jaw slightly dropped because he admitted that he is only using me for power. He can't keep me captive and treat me like a prisoner. How could anyone say this to their mate?
"No! You will not treat me like that." His face stayed emotionless but I continued, "And I don't care if you want a mate or not, I'm still going to act like one to you whether you like it or not." I folded my arms across my chest. I wasn't going to give up on him. I have always wanted a mate my whole entire life. Besides, maybe he just needs someone to show him how to love and care. He clenched his fist together out of anger, and his nostrils flared.
"Honestly, you just need someone to show you what love is and how to care," I stated. Alec started laughing at me like this was a joke.
"Do you really think you can help me? You are pathetic like the rest of the women who thought they would be the one." He chuckled darkly. My anger started to grow a little.
"Can't you see what's right in front of your face, you have a good mate who wants to love and try to help you. Oh wait, you can't see." I said angrily to him. He tried to grab my shirt collar, but with my quick warrior reflexes, he missed.
That only made it worse because he got even angrier. He grabbed my body and slammed me on the floor. I hit the ground so hard the wind got knocked out of me, and I gasped for air. He then picked me up and threw me on the bed. I started breathing regularly again but soon again more damage occurred. Alec grabbed my neck and squeezed as hard as he could.
"You are lucky my wolf needs you, if he didn't you'd die a painful, cold death." He hissed into my ears.
His grip tightened and not before long my vision started to blur in and out, black dots were starting to appear. I tried clawing at his hands to get him to stop. He finally let go of my neck. I tried gasping for air but all I could do was cough. My coughs became uneven and violent.
"I don't want a mate I never have and never will. For all I care you could just be tortured." He hissed.
"How could you be so monstrous to your own mate?" I questioned.
He didn't provide me with an answer. "Don't think about escaping. This pack is surrounded by miles of trees and guards posted at every corner." He left.
I broke down and cried softly, I forgot I was still wearing makeup until my mascara smeared. I can't believe this is happening to me. I've been kidnapped and lost my family, freedom, and pack all in one day. I continued thinking. Would I ever be able to see Blake ever again, or my best friend Xena and Mark? My parents and my other two brothers. I missed them so much already, I'd do anything to be with them. I suddenly forgot about the sibling rivalry and realized how much I wanted, more like needed them to be with me. I wanted to see all of their smiles again.
Next, I was consumed with guilt and embarrassment. Why did I not fight back? Because he's your mate, My wolf claimed.
I had basically disgraced my family name. I am a warrior, not a weak she-wolf. I grabbed the clothes on the floor and went to go take a shower. The hot water calmed me and relaxed my sore muscles. I didn't desire to stay in the shower long because I was in a new place, and I wanted to keep my guard up. When I was done showering, I walked back into the master bedroom and sat on the bed for a little bit. My neck was sore and I felt a slight pain in my back, so in order to relieve the stress and pain, I took a brief nap.
•••••
I had woken up and I heard a low rumbling sound. It was my stomach because I was hungry. To achieve my basic needs I got up and hesitantly opened the door.
"Hello?" I called out, no answer.
I went out into the hallway. I walked around the house and discovered that he wasn't here. In fact, No one was. I then walked into the kitchen and looked around for food; I pulled out pancake mix and eggs.
I was halfway done with my food when I heard the door open. I assumed it was Alec but I was wrong, instead, I was face to face with a dark brown haired girl. I took note that she had the same hair color as Alec. Along with brown eyes, his were just faded due to his blindness, but regardless they looked similar. They must be related.
Then she took a deep inhale of my scent, and that was all I could observe because she then screamed, "Intruder!"
Her face turned angry, and her eyes beamed with hatred. She was ready to defend this territory from me.
She charged at me but I quickly dodged her attacks, my warrior instincts kicking in. She shoved me back and I stumbled, catching myself before I almost fell. When I got to my feet my fist connected with her jaw as a counterattack. She grabbed a flower vase and attempted to through it at my head. I dodged it and ran to the dining room, turning quickly next to the wall. I waited for her. She came fast around the corner, and I kicked her in the stomach. She gasped out loud and grabbed her abdomen, but she composed herself quickly and charged at me. She tackled me to the ground and straddled me. She punched me once more.
Unlike Alec, I could easily overpower her. I flipped us over, I was now straddling her and punched her four times. I got up and tried to talk to her, to tell her I was the alpha's mate, but she attacked me again.
She grabbed the rest of the pancake mix and threw the bowl at my face. I squeezed my eyes together and then re-opened them. My face then made contact with a frying pan. My vision became fuzzy and distorted, I shook my head to try and get rid of the feeling.
My wolf growled and it escaped my lips. My eyes flickered red, an uncommon color, showing that my wolf came out.
I charged at her, clawing her face. She turned scared for a split second as I continually punched her. She only got two punches in while I got more than ten. I grabbed and threw her into the living room where she landed on the glass coffee table breaking it into millions of pieces. The girl got up swiftly and we begin to spar some more. At this point, she knew she was going to lose but she fought with all she had anyway.
"Stop!" Someone demanded but we keep going. Then a deep growl separated both of us. It was Alec and one of the two guys that were with him during the ceremony, Rem. "Alec, There is an intruder in the hou-" The girl tried explaining.
"Alice, quiet!" Alec cut her off, "This intruder is my mate." Alec said.
I kept my mouth shut because it was an improvement, he was actually claiming me. My wolf felt a little excitement.
Alice's eyes grew wide when she found out this new piece of information. She immediately dropped to the ground, where the glass shards laid, to beg forgiveness. I was going to tell her it's okay, but Alec dismissed her with a blank expression. She ran up the stairs in a hurry.
"Damn, I missed a big fight. Alice looks like she got hit by a bus and you look fine." Remmy said looking around at the damage then looking at me up and down.
Alec growled at the last comment, "Rem don't make me regret my decision." He warned. Rem raised his hands up defensively and said okay.
"I'm just saying, you definitely don't have a weak mate. Damn, Is that the coffee table?" I could tell he was surprised at what went on. More importantly that I didn't back down.
"Just go Rem, I'll get Axe to clean this up," Alec muttered.
"Luna," Remmy bowed at me, "It is the Alpha's orders that you shall stay at my house for tonight." He said.
I left with Remmy but not before looking at Alec one last time for the day. He had an almost unreadable expression on his face. It was foreign to me when it came from him. He held guilt in his eyes as he was faced in my direction.
Rem and I walked to his car.
The ride was short only because he was a speed demon. I'll admit he scared the crap out of me, but he was a good driver.
When we arrived I was in awe. He didn't seem like the type of guy to have a house like this. I looked at his nice white modern house.
"I had pack members put female clothes in the bathroom for you. Since you looked like you snorted crack." I laughed so hard at his words that I sneezed and white powder come out my nose.
"Wow," I said amazed. "So your different them him?" I asked as we approached his front door.
"You know he wasn't always like that." He said strongly trying to defend Alec. He opened the door, and a strong familiar smell hit me and I suddenly forgot about our conversation.
I looked around his living room and that explained it all. Two pounds of weed on his coffee table along with five blunt wraps. Over on his kitchen table, he had two bongs, three joints, one Chong, and a small bowl already packed and ready to go. He had blunt posters and pictures on his wall. Even a blunt themed blanket was draped over his couch. It was not hard to tell what his habit was.
"Shit... I forgot to clean up." He laughed nervously.

"Here just let me put all this stuff away." He said and attempted to gather up everything.
"Honestly it's fine. It doesn't bother me." I told him.
"Okay, then that's good." He said. I looked around his house, it was obvious he loved smoking marijuana.
"So why am I here and not with Alec?" I asked. At this point, I didn't mind being away from him, but I just wanted to know why. For some reason my wolf yearned for him, I couldn't help but feel an emptiness when I was away from him. He looked nervous and then he groaned out loud, "Okay, I'll tell you. Just don't tell him. But first, what's your name?" He spoke then muttered something about him being put in the middle of this.
"My name is Leah Indica" I stated waiting for him to explain. He stifled a laugh.
"Yeah. My last name is Indica. Let's get on with our conversation." I bluntly said and he busted into a fit of laughter. I smiled at his stupidity.
"Well, Alec told me about the fight or argument. Which I wanted you to know, he feels a little bad about it. And, I'm sorry that he got carried away." He continued, "He thought you'd feel more comfortable with someone not as... Monstrous- as he put it." He explained making me feel a little guilty. After all, I did antagonize him.
"So he does care a little bit." I dragged out.
"He does. I'm still not sure if he wants a mate though." He gave me a sad apologetic look.
"It's okay." I lowly said knowing he could hear me.
"He wasn't always like that though." He said as we both sat down on the couch.
"What was he like then?" I asked because I did wonder what he was like before the incident of him losing his eyesight. Rem laughed as if recalling back memories, "Well when he was actually normal..."
Eight years old, that was all Remmy was. Ten years old, that was all Alec was. They were both young boys and the best of friends. They were curious children and loved to play, and the fresh snow had laid beautifully on the ground.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Alec was eager to play with Remmy this morning due to school being canceled because of the snow storm they got last night. Rem's mom opened the door.
"Can Rem come out to play today?" Alec used his big brown doe eyes as an advantage.
Rem rushed out the door and tackled him to the ground. Both of the boys laughed and played in the snow for what seemed like hours. Having snowball wars and building snowmen. As the snow continued to fall they began to pack down a hill to go sledding. They laughed endlessly. "Alec check this out!" Remmy stood on a sled and went down the hill. Halfway down the hill he fell hitting a tree head first. Alec turned very scared because Remmy wasn't moving. He ran as fast as he could down the hill without slipping. "Rem? Rem! Wake up." Alec turned Rem over and there was blood running down his nose. Alec picked up Rem and carried him to the door by himself. Rem's mom met them at the door and ushered both boys in. Alec was in tears because he thought his only friend was going to die, and it was his idea to go sledding. Once Rem's mom was done giving her son medical treatment she went back to the living room and comforted the crying ten-year-old Alec.
"That shows how passionate he was before the incident. He actually wanted to be a doctor." He chuckled at that.
"Oh," I said. "How many days has it been since the ceremony?" I asked.
"Two." He answered.
I thought it only has been one day. Oh well. "I know that Alec lost his eyesight at war. What was the war about?" I asked. No one ever knew the real truth, which was strange.
"I can't tell you. Just wait in time and you'll find it. Just talk to him." He advised me. I snorted even though if it was unladylike.
"Yeah, last time that didn't end well," I said. "And I deserve to know. I'm his mate, I want to help him, Rem. Please." I begged. I could tell he was caving by the look in his eye. He was also having an internal battle with his wolf.
"Well-" He began but a knock at the door interrupted him. "I got it." He quickly got up probably trying to avoid our conversation.
He stood at the doorway with someone and a few words were exchanged. Alice then entered the door and Rem went upstairs. She sat down beside me, "Luna." She nodded out of respect. I wasn't used to that title but my wolf loved it.
"Please call me Leah," I told her. I know most people in the pack are suppose to address me differently. However, I feel like she's an exception to call me by my first name. "Okay. Can I talk to you for a sec?" She asked. I nodded my head.
"Okay, I wanted to know if maybe we can start over. I know now that I shouldn't have done that. I'm very sorry. Maybe we could be friends?" She told me, her brown eyes were shining with hope.
"No." I simply told her. "What? Why?" She asked confused.
"Because I don't want to be friends with you. I want you to be my best friend in this pack." Her eyes practicality popped out of her head.
"Really!?" She exclaimed.
"Yes," I confirmed.
She then hugged and tightly squeezed me, like the way Xena hugged me. When Alice pulled back she looked at me noticing I was a little sad. "What's wrong?" She asked.
"I just miss my family and friends. Especially, Xena, she was my best friend. She always hugged me the way you did." I said. Her face dropped at my words, "I am so sorry. Can you not contact them?" She asked.
"No, my old phone is with my parents and even if I had it Alec said I wasn't allowed to communicate with them. He doesn't want me to leave." I told her. Her face turned to an angry expression but soon left her face.
"Yeah, I understand." She continues, "What if I took you shopping. Obviously, you need new clothes. Then maybe I can get you a phone to pass time. Then you could butter up Alec into talking to your family." She planned out.
"I'm not sure if that would even work. I think he hates me." I said.
"Oh." She said.
"It's worth a try though," I told her.
"Maybe tomorrow we could go shopping," I said trying to brighten up her day.
"You know I really like your blonde hair with green eyes. It's a good combination." She said.
"Thanks."
She stood up from the couch. "Okay, I'll be going now." She left then Remmy came downstairs and sat down on the couch with me with a blunt in his hand.
"Are you smoking that, Now?" I asked.
"Do you not like the smoke?" He questioned.
"I don't mind it." I made sure he knew I had no problem with it. After all, I do have secrets of my own. He grabbed the lighter on the coffee table and a deviant plan comes to mind. He tried to light the blunt but I stared at the flame and it extinguished. He lit it again, eyes, the flame is gone. Once again he tried to light it, I unnoticeably raised up my hand and the flame grew slightly. He dropped the lighter, "What the hell?!" He gasped. "Allow me." I grabbed the lighter and perfectly lit the blunt and gave the lighter back to him. I was impressed that my magic actually worked without issues this time.
"Stupid lighter." He muttered. I wasn't supposed to reveal my abilities to anyone else except for my parents and previous alpha. Things have changed since then, and my wolf felt as if I could trust Rem. That was an instinct that I trusted, and I wanted nothing more than to share my secret with someone.
I have many family secrets. My grandmother has been on this earth for thousands of years. Then when she met my grandfather, turns out they were mates. She cast a spell so he could be immortal like her. Being immortal was a thing only vampires, Lycans, and the original witches shared. Since my grandmother is a witch, a lot of things were passed down the line. My mother can sense and control peoples emotions, like how she calmed me down on the way to the mating ceremony. Out of my four siblings, Blake and I were the only ones that had power. He can control water, and I could control fire. My grandmother was a jack of all trades. She could basically do anything because she was one of the most powerful witches.
"Rem, that wasn't the lighter," I said. "What do you mean." He said in between puffs.
"Look." I pointed at his fireplace that had no fire in it- yet. I concentrated hard on making a fire appear. Fire is a hard element to control and I haven't had much practice, unfortunately. Soon enough there was the familiar sound of crackling, then flames consumed the wood. Rem dropped the blunt out of fear. He jumped up and started backing up.
"I-is. Was that... What on earth. Is that you." He started to freak out.
Not an expression I was looking for but I wouldn't expect him to be calm either. "Rem calm down." I stood up and tried to calm him. I picked up his blunt from the floor, "By the way, this is a party foul." I told him. He grabbed it and blew it off, then he set it on the coffee table.
"How did you do that?" He asked.
"My grandmother is a witch," I said.
"So..." He trailed off. "That's crazy. I thought cross-breeding wasn't acceptable." He questioned.
"Well, the elders have come to see it isn't that bad. After all my grandfather is apart of the elders' council so he has brought new ideas to the others." I told him. "Now can you please not tell anyone about my special gift. I'll tell Alec on my own time." I said.
"Of course, on one condition." He continued, "Light this." I smiled as he handed me the blunt that went out. "Only if I can have some," I remarked.
"You smoke, too?" He asked surprised.
"Occasionally," I said and concentrated on lighting the blunt with my eyes. After a minute of trying, I smiled. "I'm not that great on controlling my abilities." I handed it to Rem and he understood.
We passed the blunt back and forth until it was finished. "You know, Alec is lucky to have you." Rem complimented me.
I blushed, "Why?"
He had a certain gleam in his eyes, "I always wanted a mate my whole life. I know somewhere deep down in Alec he does too, he just won't admit it. Seriously though, you're like the best possible mate for him. You can fight, bend fire, and you smoke. Can you cook too?" He asked.
"I love cooking!" I exclaimed. I love food in general.
"Would you be able to cook tomorrow morning?" He asked.
"Sure." I looked at his wooden coffee table and noticed a picture of a small little girl hugging Rem. "That's my four-year-old little sister. She was two at the time. When my mom died because of a rare illness, my father moved to another pack. She is with him, and I haven't seen her in a year." He explained.
I glanced out the window and noticed it was dark. "Yeah, it is pretty late." Rem noticed what I was looking at.
"Yeah, I better go to bed," I said.
"The guest room is the second door to the left upstairs." He told me. I thanked him for taking me in tonight and headed to the stairs.
"Wait." He said and walked into the kitchen. He came back with a bucket of water and a big bottle floating in the water. A Chong, that already had weed packed in it. "I know right now you could use some. It's been a long day for you. I know Alec is messed up but just give him a chance okay." I smiled at his fondness for Alec. It was cute.
"I won't give up okay," I assured him. We both smiled at another and said goodnight.
I went up to a room with golden walls and sat down on the bed. The room was nice a cozy. Since I felt safe I thought about everything. How much I missed my family and how Alec took me from them. I wondered if he was fixable or not, but I wouldn't give up on him. I would at least try.
I just needed to forget about the bad things for now. I found the clothes on the granite sink counter, and I took a shower in the clean bathroom.
When I was done with the shower, I sat on the bed for a few seconds. I filled the Chong completely of smoke and I cleared it all. I repeated this for about five minutes. When I was done my head hit the pillow, and I smiled because I was lost in good thoughts.
