"GET HER! DON'T LET HER ESCAPE!"
"DID SHE COME THROUGH HERE!?"
"GO TO THE OTHER SIDE!"
"IF SHE ESCAPE I'LL HAVE ALL OF YOUR HEADS!"
"FOUND HER!"
"YOU'RE DEAD WOMAN! YOU HEAR! YOU'RE DEAD!"
A woman with crimson hair and blood moon eyes smirks at the men chasing her. She was not intimidated nor afraid of the words coming out of their mouths. In fact, it boosted her confidence even more. This woman was in fact the worst criminal of all times. Her known kills were 40 people, men and women alike. She stole from the riches with the highest security system. She has a connection with the underground bosses. Many wanted to kill her, recruit her, or even put her through the justice system. However, because of her connection, and genius like abilities, she always somehow seems to escape them. Her name was Scarlet Snowfall. There was no known background information about her beside her name.
Scarlet takes out a grappling hook and throws it. The hook grabs on to an edge of a building rooftop. The men that were chasing her expression turned into horror. If she jumps off of the edge of the building right now and lands on to another one, they won't be able to chase her.
"HURRY AND GET HER!" the man in the back yelled out.
It was too late, Scarlet had already taken off. They pull out their guns, ready to shoot her.
"STOP!" the man yelled out again, "You could risk hitting the scroll!"
His men put their gun away. Scarlet turns around as she flies away. She waves at them and disappears into the night.
"Damn it... Damn you Scarlet Snowfall!"
Scarlet taps her feet onto the floor. A man in white lab coat awaited her. He was of decent look but with a gentle feature. His chestnut eyes and muddy blond hair looked good on him. Scarlet smiles just from seeing him.
"Andy!" she said as she ran up to him with a hug.
Andy hugs her back ,"Welcome back Scarlet."
"Hmm..." said Scarlet as she snuggled against him.
They walk into a warehouse far from the city. With a couple of security measures, Scarlet and Andy enter the warehouse. She set the scroll she took from the men from earlier on the table. Andy unravels it.
"Just as expected."
Scarlet's eyes glitter, "Is it really a time travel scroll?"
Andy nods, "A real genuine time travel scroll. With this, we can go back in time, and find out who you really are, Scarlet."
Her eyes brighten even more, but it slowly dies away. Andy noticed the change in her eyes.
"Scarlet?"
"Your words make me happy Andy, but if we don't give this to VARPOL... Then, we won't get our freedom back..."
"Scarlet...."
She turns and smiles at him, "My past or your life. I will always choose yours."
Andy hugs her deeply. She hugs him back. The VARPOL was a dangerous organization. It even has the government at the palm of their hands. A few days ago, they kidnapped Andy when they were on a mission and implanted a bomb chip in his neck. They threaten Scarlet to retrieve a rumored time scroll from the Polarmis Mafia Family, or they will kill Andy at the click of their finger. Scarlet took on their job, and just in case she runs off because she always listens to Andy, they also implanted a bomb chip in her.
[How can you be so foolish! You could have just left me! Now they have us both!]
[But I can't leave you Andy...! I don't have anyone in this world that knows me... Only you!]
[Scarlet...]
The next morning, Scarlet and Andy set off to VARPOL headquarters. When they got there, they went through security measures before meeting the big boss of VARPOL, Shane Esteem.
"So? Where is it?" he asked.
Scarlet took out the scroll and threw it at him. He catches the scroll and opens it. A smile forms on his lips, "Good Work."
He gives the scroll to the man behind him, "As promises, we will deactivate the bomb chip in your neck."
They were both secretly relieved at his words. Until he said, "But before that, I have another job for you."
Scarlet's eyes flared out, "What? That wasn't part of the deal!"
"I know," said Shane as he claps his hands together, "But what can you do when I have both of your lives in my hand?"
Scarlet was ready to jump out and punch him, but was held back by Andy. Shane slowly drinks the tea in front of him.
"One is a mastermind, and the other is an infamous criminal. Both who value each other greatly and work perfectly together... Now, why would I let you both go when I can benefit so much more?"
"Shane you bastard!" Scarlet growls out.
"Call me names all you want," said Shane, "If that's what it takes to have you both under me, then it's worth it."
One of the things that Scarlet and Andy hated the most was losing their freedom and being controlled by people. Scarlet was on her breaking point, but Andy held her back.
"And what is this other job you speak of?"
Shane smiles at him, "Bring me the head of the leader of BLOOD DRAIN."
Both Scarlet's and Andy's eyes widen at his words. No matter how smart Andy was nor skilled Scarlet was, diving into the BLOOD DRAIN is basically signing a suicidal note.
"Why?" Andy asked, "What benefit do you reap from that?"
"Oh, nothing really," said Shane, "They wanted to pick a fight with us, so I just want them out of the way."
Scarlet's eyes twitch, "That's it? You want us to risk our lives on something as trivial as that?"
"Surely not," said Shane, "My pride is on the line."
Scarlet wanted to yell out, screw your pride, but Andy held her back again. His demeanor seemed to have changed for some reason.
"Mister Shane, if you don't mind answering some of my questions, then we will take on the job," said Andy.
Scarlet looks at him and Andy doesn't usually call someone mister or madam unless he had some kind of plan. She watches him silently. Shane looks at him, "Shoot."
"After we finish this job, will you take out the chip from our neck?"
"That depends on your performance."
"So are you telling me that even after we kill the head of BLOOD DRAIN, you have other plans for us?"
"Perhaps..."
Scarlet was getting angrier and angrier at his answers. They were half *** answers to Andy's question.
"Last question, do you even have any intention of letting us go at all?"
Shane looks at him for a while in silence before answering him.
"Who knows."
A smile suddenly formed on his lips as he got his answers from Shane. A smile that Scarlet had never seen before. A bad feeling starts to ache in her.
"Thank you for answering my questions, Mister Shane."
"My pleasure."
Andy puts his arm down and looks at Scarlet. She looks back at him, "Andy?"
"Scarlet, I know that you will do anything for me. You would put my life over yours no matter what. I'd do the same as well. That's just how important you are to me."
Scarlet blushes at his sudden confession. Shane narrows his eyes at Andy as he starts to feel uneasy about something.
"I love you Scarlet, with all my heart, you are the only one I love."
"Andy..."
"Are you done?" Shane asked, "If you are then, hurry up and decide if you'll take the job or not. Although, your opinion doesn't really matter."
"Now that, I will agree."
Andy suddenly waves his hand around. Scarlet's eyes widened the moment she saw signs of spells coming out from him. She knew what kind of technique he was using. She tried to grab his hand but was pushed against an invisible wall. Scarlet fell down on the floor but quickly got back up. She bangs on the invisible wall. Shane's men surround him, ready to pounce Andy. Shane takes out a clicker. It was the switch to Andy's bomb chip.
"What do you think you're doing? You will die the moment I click this!"
Andy smiles at him, "Try it."
Irritated at his cocky smile, Shane clicks the button Nothing happened. He glares at Andy, "What did you do!?"
"Triangular Lock," said Andy, "A technique that creates another space in a small form for three minutes. Right now, your switch will not work on me nor on Scarlet."
Andy waves his finger around, lifting up the time scroll away from the man who was holding it. Andy opens the scroll as it floats in the air. Shane's eyes went bloodshot, "What do you think you're doing!?"
"What do you think?" said Andy as blood drizzled down from his mouth.
Opening another space is easier said than done. It takes a toll on the body the longer the space is open. Scarlet screams from the top of her lungs to stop Andy, but her voice wasn't getting through. Although it wasn't, Andy knew what she was saying. He turns around and looks at her.
"Just as you would put my life over yours, I would put your life over mine. Scarlet, this time travel scroll is a one time use... Once I use it, they won't be able to come after you. My time with you was the only time that made me feel alive... Scarlet, live freely and never forget that there was someone that loved you."
Tears fell from Scarlet's eyes. As soon as Andy finishes his words, the scroll starts to shine brightly. A restless feeling digs into her. Her heart was torn to pieces as she saw Andy die before her to activate the time travel scroll.
"ANDY!"

Scorching hot flames were felt against Scarlet's skin. She wakes up from the heat and finds herself in the middle of a battlefield.
Her soul felt heavy and her body was covered in injuries. A sudden rush of piercing pain rams into her head. Scarlet had to place her hand on the ground to stable herself.
As Scarlet was scanning through the memories of the owner's body, an enemy came up behind her. She ignores the enemy with a single ****** of the spear into the enemy's face. Scarlet stands up from the battlefield after looking through the owner's memories.
The more she thought about it, the more headaches she had. She shook her head and headed back to her camp. Many of the soldiers there greeted her back. She was the general of the camp and because of her father's well-known name, many respected her. Except, they were also talking behind her back as well. No one wanted to accept a female general who got through the ranks thanks to her father. However, this was no longer the general's daughter, this was an infamous criminal who had traveled back in time.
Scarlet enters her tent and sets her sword to the side. She covers her face in disbelief. When Andy risked his life to send her back, she did not expect him to send her back to Ancient China. It didn't make sense at all. Moreover, she was in another person's body whose body now has the complete transfer of her skills from the future. Everything was so out of whack, Scarlet gave up thinking about it. It wasn't her forte to make unlogic things logical.
Suddenly, someone burst into her tent. It was a man of fine feature. His dirty blond hair was pulled back into a ponytail and crystal green eyes complimented them greatly. He rushes over to her side and hugs her.
"Thank God you are alright!" the man shivers out.
Scarlet was startled at first until she remembered the owner's memories. This man before her was the owner's body sworn brother in battle. His name was Ridrick Dawstorm. He and the owner's body had a family relationship but could only see each on the battlefield. The reason for this was because he was a well known general like the owner's body father. However, his position was to guard the borders. Therefore, he rarely has the time to come visit her, and only when she comes to the border could they meet.
Scarlet patted his back ,"I said I'll come back..."
He pulls back, "You did. But you could have died! The Huns are not one to be truffled with. You took 5,000 troops with you, but only you managed to return."
In truth, the owner of this body could have returned with all of her 5,000 troops, but she was set up. On their way back from driving off the invader, they were ambushed by an unknown force who wiped them all out. It was there that the owner of this body died.
"We were ambushed on our way back," said Scarlet.
"What?!" said Ridrick in shock, "By who?! I'll make them regret hurting my sworn sister!"
Scarlet smiles at him and shakes her head. There was nothing they could do when they didn't know who it was that attacked her. Ridrick told Scarlet that he would have it investigated, but she told him not to worry about it. Just as he was about to argue back, one of the soldiers called out to him.
"Lord General Dawstorm, all of the captains have gathered at your camp and await for you to start the meeting."
Ridrick clicks his tongue at the soldiers. He wanted to spend more time with his sworn sister. Because of the war, they didn't have much time to talk, and after the war is over there will be even less time for them to get together and hang out. He wanted to use up as much time as he could to spend it with her. Scarlet pat his hand, "Go. Don't keep them waiting."
He stares at her for a bit before hugging her tightly again.
"Don't run off like that again, you hear?"
Scarlet nods. As soon as he left the tent, Scarlet gave out a heavy sigh.
"He seems like a good person but... The owner of this body is too chummy and nice... How long can I keep up with this act?"
Not even a second later, another man came in. Maybe because Ridrick came before that this man doesn't seem as good looking as him. He had dark brown hair and deep brown eyes like hazel. As soon as he came in, he looked at Scarlet from head to toe and then cleared his throat.
"Why didn't you just tell Lord Ridrick that you're fine? Geez," said the man in an irritating tone.
One of Scarlet's eyebrows raises up. This man standing before her was the fiance of the owner of this body. His name was Ian Polarmis. They were childhood sweethearts, but he suddenly changed his attitude towards her out of nowhere. He even wanted to annul the engagement they had. It broke the owner's heart as she was in love with him. Scarlet could care less about him, but after seeing the memories of the owner's body, she wanted to beat the crap out of this man. Moreover, he was the one that planned the ambush. Or so, the owner of this body concluded.
Scarlet looks at him with dead eyes. Unlike Ridrick, who was a good person, this person before her was just trash. She doesn't need to put up an act before him.
"If that's all you're here to say then leave," said Scarlet in a cold voice, "I don't have time to amuse you."
Ian narrows his eyes at her, "Excuse me?"
"Leave," Scarlet spoke out a bit louder, "I am exhausted and don't have time to spare with you."
"How dare you speak to me like that," he holler out, "As soon as we return, I am breaking off my engagement with you."
"Alright. Thank you for doing so," Scarlet replied with a yawn, "Now leave before I have you thrown out."
Irritated by her words, Ian storms out of her tent. Finally, some quiet and peace. Truth to be told, her eyes were closing on her. The toll of traveling back in time was like a jet lag. Plus, she needed the rest mentally as well. She just lost someone who was more important than her own life died before her very eyes. She didn't have time to grieve for him because of the sudden atmosphere change.
Seconds later, Scarlet fell sound asleep. A small voice in the corner of her ear voices out, "Please... Please listen to my dying wishes..."
To Be Continued.
Scarlet opens her eyes into the dream world. Only the dream world took on the form of the owner's body dying moments. Tears were rolling down from her cheeks as she dragged her feet against the scorching soil. She coughs out a hand full of blood. She stares at it and her whole body shook. She knew that her time was near. Her whole entire body was worn out from the injuries she had received. The formation that took out her and her 5,000 men were very familiar to her. Too familiar it broke her heart. She knew that something or someone was working behind her back, but she did not think they would resort to this kind of means.
The last of her strengths left her. She rolls over to her back staring out to the sky. Her inner thoughts vibrate inside of Scarlet's mind.
The light in her eyes slowly starts to die out as she finishes her dying wish. Although in clear form, Scarlet walks over to her and kneels down. Even if she couldn't touch her because it was all but a memory, she still reaches out to touch her cheek.
Her figure really was similar to Scarlet all the way from the head to the toes. Red burning crimson hair, and blood moon eyes. The only differences is that her hair was straight, while Scarlet's hair was wavy.
Scarlet stared into her eyes as the light became nothing but dim light. Scarlet knews that she probably couldn't hear her but said it anyway.
"You gave me a body to travel into... You offered your soul for me so I could live and a chance for me to remember who I was... You're dying wish, I shall grant. It is the least I can do for you... You who had wished nothing more but to live a good honest life... A dream Andy and I once had..."
Even though it was a memory, even though it was just within a dream. It was as though she heard Scarlet answering her. A small smile appears on her lips with a whisper, "Thank you..."
The dream world vanishes like sand as Scarlet awakens. She got up from her bed feeling a lot better. Before, the body felt like a foreign object, rejecting her soul. But now, it felt like her own body. Perhaps, her hair would also become wavy again. Scarlet pulls her hair to take a look at it. It was still straight. She chuckles to herself.
She remembers one time Andy wanted to see her with straight hair, but she refused to do it. It was a really dumb reason really. She had tried to straighten her hair before, but burnt it several times. After that, she gave up. Scarlet didn't want to go to a beauty salon for the risk of exposure. Had she known she was going to part with Andy like that, she would have gone to the beauty salon and had it fixed. But she was too stubborn and embarrassed. Now she regretted it.
Lost in her thoughts, the soldiers from outside were shouting in an alarming tone.
"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"
"They broke through the defense and are heading here!"
"Defend the captain's life!"
Scarlet lifts up the entrance of her tent. Outside was blazing with flame from a five meter radius. Two figure marches in front of the flames. They were both men of sturdy figure and menacing looks. Scarlet could feel the blood thirst coming from them. The man on the right opens up a fist and waves his hand out. Flame sparks out of his hand. The man on the left did the same as well.
"It's the twin flames of the Huns!" One of the soldiers yell out.
Ian came rushing out of his tent the moment he heard who it was that was attacking them. He licks his lips, "A good time to raise my fame."
Just as he was about to march over, he saw Scarlet out of her tent. His expression changed into disdain. Scarlet's didn't notice him. In fact, she was ignoring his existent whole entirely. She looks around and grabs one of the soldiers that was running around.
"What do you mean by the twin flames?" she asked.
The soldier looks at her, "Captain?"
"Don't make me repeat myself."
A sudden chill ran down his spine. He quickly nods, "Y-yes ma'am. They are upper-level three cultivators. The Twin Flames of Huns are known to burn anything within their path, and it seems that they are upset about the capturing of their border town."
One of Scarlet's eyes raises up. The board town that was captured was done by the original owner of this body. The memories were still a bit hazy, but Scarlet will look through them thoroughly next time.
She releases the soldier and tells him to go on his way. He bows to her and leaves. Ian walks up to her with a graceful stance as he cups his hand together before her. She looks at him, "Need something?"
Ian twitches at her words, but refrains from saying much with people around. He raises up his head, "I was just concern about your health, afterall we are fiance."
"Is that so."
Scarlet didn't say anything else to him but concentrated on the twins that were coming towards the camp. Ian was getting a bit irritated by her attitude. He focuses his gaze on the twins as well. Something forms up in his mind.
Scarlet was still trying to observe their movement until Ian suddenly said, "The only one that can put up a fight against them is you, Captain Ashegrey."
Scarlet glances at him before looking back. Ignoring him again. He bit his lips, "The soldiers are in a panic and many have already sustained injuries, it is better to subdue the problem with your help. Of course I will come along and support you, since you are injured."
Scarlet suddenly smiles at him, the same way the owner of this body would smile at him. She cups her hand at him, "Thank you, with your help we can drive them away faster. They are not easy opponents to go against without equal or more numbers."
Ian smirks at her but hides it quickly, "Indeed."
When he went to her tent earlier, he wanted to see how many injuries she had sustained. If possible, she could become a cripple, and it would benefit him greatly. He was hoping that she would die out there but she came back not only alive, but with few injuries. And what he witnessed yesterday made him become doubtful if she knew what had happened. But, perhaps he was just thinking too much. After all, she was just a brute woman who adored and loved him. There's no way her sudden change of behavior means that she had a change of heart.
Scarlet read him like a book. Just how in wonder did the owner of this body fell for this kind of man?
Never mind. She'll look it up later. First, she needs to take care of this problem before Ridrick notices. His campsite was 5 miles from here, so there's a good chance the news hasn't reached him yet.
It was a good chance for her to try out her cultivation and skills that had transferred over.
