He turned his head slightly, eyes cold and sharp.

The bell rang. Naruto ran inside at lightning speed.

“I’d rather sit in a volcano.”

Naruto dropped into the chair with the drama level of a dying actor.
The moment he sat, his pencil rolled off the table and onto Sasuke’s side.

Teacher slammed a book on the desk.

Naruto slapped his cheeks.

Naruto packed his bag and tried sneaking out.
But a hand grabbed the strap of his backpack.
Sasuke stood behind him, expression unreadable.
Sasuke held out a small paper.

“You dropped this earlier.”
Naruto blinked in surprise.

“…Oh. Uh. Thanks.”
Sasuke stared at him for a moment too long.
Then he turned away.

“…Try not to lose your things so easily, dobe.”

“STOP CALLING ME THAT—”
Sasuke kept walking.
A tiny, ghost-like smirk touched his lips.
Naruto froze, confused at the warm, annoying feeling in his chest.

Naruto stood there, dramatic and betrayed.

The school library was known for two things:
1. Silence.
2. The librarian who could hear a whisper from three floors away.
Naruto entered like a walking disaster carrying books that were clearly too heavy for him.

“Why are these books so big— Is this a weapon or a textbook?!”
Naruto immediately bowed dramatically.

He sat down at the first empty table he found, his blonde hair sticking out like sunshine in a graveyard of quiet students.

Then his book slid off the table like it wanted to escape him.
