Married to My Teacher
Ch. 1
Evening — Elias’ family dining room. The table is set neatly, but the air feels strangely formal. His father’s tone has been unusually serious since dinner started.
Mr., Rawen(Elias' father)
(clearing his throat)
Elias, your mother and I have something important to discuss with you
Elias Rowen (MC)
(setting down his glass of water)
That sounded… ominous. Did I do something wrong?
Amanth (Elias' mother)
(smiling softly)
No, dear. You’ve done nothing wrong. It’s just—something that concerns your future.
Elias Rowen (MC)
(raising an eyebrow)
My future? I already have one. A stable job. A quiet life. What more are you planning for me?
Mr., Rawen(Elias' father)
(interlacing his fingers)
You’re twenty-seven. A high school teacher—good, responsible, respectable. But this world… isn’t run on ideals alone. You know that.
Elias Rowen (MC)
(leaning back slightly)
…You’re talking about business again, aren’t you?
Mr., Rawen(Elias' father)
(nods)
Our family company needs a stronger alliance. There’s a deal in progress, one that will secure our position for years to come.
Elias Rowen (MC)
(sighing quitely)
Let me guess. There is a catch?
Amanth (Elias' mother)
(nervously glancing at her husband)
Not a catch, exactly. More like… a connection.
Mr., Rawen(Elias' father)
You’re to be married, Elias.
Elias freezes mid-motion. His fork clinks against the plate
Elias Rowen (MC)
....Married?
Amanth (Elias' mother)
It’s been arranged already. Everything will be handled properly.
Elias Rowen (MC)
(slowly)
Arranged? Without asking me first?
Mr., Rawen(Elias' father)
It’s for business purposes. You’ll understand when you meet them
Elias Rowen (MC)
Them? You’re not even telling me who it is?
Amanth (Elias' mother)
(softly)
It’s better this way—for now. We want you to meet with an open mind
Elias Rowen (MC)
(dry laugh)
An open mind? You just told me I’m being married off like some kind of… contract.
Mr., Rawen(Elias' father)
(sternly)
Don’t exaggerate. It’s an opportunity—for you, for all of us.
Elias Rowen (MC)
(quietly, bitterly)
Right. “All of us.” Except I don’t get a choice, do I?
Silence stretches. The ticking clock in the background grows painfully loud.
Amanth (Elias' mother)
(gently)
Elias… we only want what’s best for you
Elias Rowen (MC)
(standing, voice steady but tight)
Then maybe you should’ve asked what I think is best for me.
Elias leaves the dining room, his chair scraping sharply against the floor. His parents exchange a heavy look, neither quite sure if they’ve done the right thing.

Ch 2
Morning sunlight filters through the curtains of Elias’ apartment. A half-empty cup of coffee sits forgotten on the counter. He’s dressed neatly for work, but his usual calm looks strained.
Elias Rowen (MC)
( Arranged marriage. Business purpose. A connection.)
He scoffs quietly to himself as he adjusts his tie in the mirror.
Elias Rowen (MC)
(They said I’d meet them soon—but didn’t even bother to tell me when. Or who.)
He sighs, pushing back his hair, trying to ground himself before leaving.
Elias Rowen (MC)
*murmuring to himself*
Fine. I’ll play along. I’ll meet whoever this person is, smile politely, and then decline… quietly.
He grabs his bag and keys, stepping outside into the crisp morning air. The city hums softly — students chatting, cars rushing by, life carrying on as usual. He walks toward the school with practiced rhythm, though his mind is elsewhere.
Elias stands before his class, chalk in hand. He’s explaining literature — calm voice, smooth pacing — but the usual warmth behind his eyes is absent.
Elias Rowen (MC)
…and that’s why the author used silence to represent distance. Sometimes, what’s unsaid speaks louder than
He pauses for a moment, realizing how true that sounds.
Student: (raising hand) Sir, are you okay? You seem… distracted today.
Elias Rowen (MC)
* off guard, blinking *
Oh. Do I?
* forces a small smile *
I suppose even teachers have off days. Continue reading from page seventy-three.
The bell rings. Students shuffle out, leaving him alone in the quiet classroom. He exhales, half anxious, half resigned.
Elias Rowen (MC)
* quitly to himself *
When will i be able to do something I want in my life?
Elias life has already been controlled by his parents.
Only his profession is chosen by him.
He doesn't care about other things but marriage?
it wasn't a game. It was for a lifetime or at least according to him.
He didn't want to be with a stranger
All he could wish for was that the person he is going to marry is at least kind to him.
Ch. 3

After noon. The staffroom smells faintly of coffee and chalk dust. Teachers are chatting, papers rustling, someone’s typing grades on a laptop. Elias walks in, his usual calm composure hiding the restless thoughts under his eyes.
Ms. Lainne (colleague)
Morning, Elias! You look like you didn’t sleep at all. Late grading again?
Elias Rowen (MC)
* half-smile *
Not this time. Just… thinking too much, I guess.
Mr. Haru (colleague)
* teasingly *
Thinking? That sounds dangerous. What’s on your mind, our ever-composed Mr. Elias?
Elias Rowen (MC)
* pouring himself coffee *
Family business. Complicated things.
Ms. Lainne (colleague)
* grinning *
Ah, the family business. That always sounds mysterious. What kind of complication are we talking about?
Elias Rowen (MC)
* dryly *
The kind that apparently comes with a wedding.
Everyone pauses. Ms. Lianne nearly spills her tea.
Ms. Lainne (colleague)
Wait—what? You’re getting married?!
Mr. Haru (colleague)
* laughing *
Didn’t even tell us? That’s cold, man.
Elias Rowen (MC)
* raising a hand tiredly *
I’m not married. Yet. It’s… arranged. My parents’ idea.
Ms. Lainne (colleague)
* surprised *
Arranged? Like… traditional arranged?
Elias Rowen (MC)
* nodding slightly *
Business alliance, apparently. I don’t even know who the person is.
Mr. Haru (colleague)
* mock dramatic *
Blind date level: extreme.
Elias Rowen (MC)
* small smirk *
You could say that.
Ms. Lainne (colleague)
So… when are you meeting them?
Elias Rowen (MC)
* shrugs *
No clue. My parents said “soon,” but I’m still waiting for an actual date.
He sits down, stirring his coffee absently. There’s a beat of silence before Ms. Lianne leans forward with a soft voice.
Ms. Lainne (colleague)
You don’t sound happy about it.
Elias Rowen (MC)
I’m not unhappy, either. Just… confused. I like order. Predictability. And this feels like standing in fog — I can’t see what’s ahead, but everyone keeps telling me to walk forward anyway.
He gives a small, humorless laugh. The others exchange sympathetic glances.
Mr. Haru (colleague)
Maybe it won’t be as bad as you think. Who knows? You might actually like whoever they’ve picked.
Elias Rowen (MC)
* raising an eyebrow *
Or they might hate literature, sarcasm, and teachers who drink too much coffee.
Ms. Lainne (colleague)
* smiling *
Then at least you’ll have stories to tell us.
Elias chuckles softly, shaking his head. The tension in his shoulders eases for a moment.
Elias Rowen (MC)
Yeah… maybe.
He takes a sip of his coffee, gaze drifting to the window again. The world outside looks calm and bright, but his reflection in the glass shows quiet unease — a man trying to stay composed while fate rearranges his life without asking.
