Daelina the protagonist is writing her diary :

This story starts from the day I was born.

I was born on 18th November 2008. I was the first daughter of my parents, first granddaughter from both sides of the family such as mother's and father's family. I heard from my parents that my father was aboard at the time of my mother's delivery but due to her request he came a day before of that day and a bought a lottery ticket and the result was drawn the next day which is the day I was born and he got 10000 rupees with it after I was born he bought sweets such as laddoo, jalebi etc desert as Ice cream and chocolates and other stuff and gave to the doctors , nurses, trainee nurses , hospital staffs and other bystanders who was waiting for the birth of their child all others. I heard from others my father was so happy.

From an young age People expect a lot more than my capacity or skill. Therefore I thought I should exceed these expectations but just like everybody I else I did not exceed nor did I

fall short. I became ordinary just like all others.

Maa : "Dael... Alright, I’m going to sleep now. Tomorrow morning, I have to wake up and cook rice and curry because You all need to go to school. You wait for your dad "

Daelina : "ok maa"

...11: 30 pm...

Phone calls :

Dael : "Where are you? Do you know what time it is?

Dad : "I am near home. I will arrive soon."

Dael : "ok dad"

...12 :00 pm...

Car honks at the front of the gate

   {Dael opened the gate he arrived}

Dael : " dada why are you so late? "

Dad : " Had to go somewhere. How is your mother?

Dael : "she is angry cause you are arriving late these days."

Dad : "It is ok "( he is going into the room due to the talk between these two maa woke up)

Maa : "where did you go? Are you drunk again today. If these continue I will not allow you to enter this house."

Dad : "Who are you to tell me what to do ?this is my house. If you want you can leave this house now."

Maa : "Then okk, I will call your friends."(to tell them not to make him drunk)

Dad : (He suddenly became violent and tried to kill her and curse all the people related to her)

Suddenly the room became silent and maa was struggling to breathe. She tried to call Daelina to help her. But Daelina was the one who need more help now because her heart is beating rapidly and her breathe suddenly stopped. She was the sole witness who saw her father's real personality and saw her mother pleading for help ...

This was the first time I saw my father this angry. Is these things normal or it is only happening to us ? What would now happen?

Suddenly something happened like an unknown force came to her and she pushed her father,, and saved her mother

and brought her to the living room her father in the bedroom curse her mother so much And as he was pushed aside by his daughter he said you are not what you seem.

She was in the living room with her mother she don't know what to do as the one who did to her mother is none other than her own father. She thought should I try calling police however when she thought over it she don't know is what she going to correct as her mother don't want to make others know about it. It was dead silence her father had gone to sleep as he was drunk, her mother was in the sofa of the living room sitting thinking about something. She who was sitting opposite to the sofa thinking silently , can' t sleep and in her mind the image of her father who tried to kill her mother didn't go. Time passed but they didn't sleep a wink she tried to make her mother sleep and after sometime her mother fell asleep in the sofa.

After a few hours, time passed and the sun rise as she fell asleep for a few hours. She had to get ready to go school after sometime she got to her routine.

At school:

classes started as usual but her mind wasn't there she was thinking about that night and suddenly her teacher called daelina do you know

Teacher: what was you thinking so deeply that you did not even hear what I was teaching. Daelina : Teacher I...

Teacher: It's okk now sit down and hear the rest of the class

Her friend who was sitting aside asked what happened del? she said Xavier that suddenly the bell rang and it was break time her face looked pale with dark circles under her eyes.

She said to Xavier nothing I just didn't sleep last night that much. Xavier: You know del if you lie your lips shake now your lips are shaking you know it very well no one knows you as much I do so tell me what happened?

daelina: Xavier can we go outside the classroom I don't think so I will be able to tell you here as all other classmates are here.

Xavier: ok we could go outside the classroom and he took her to a bench outside the classroom there was not many people it was silent and suddenly she cried bawling her eyes she looked him and cried while hugging him. Xavier I don't know what to do the problems with my father and mother are not like what I thought. Yesterday I saw my father trying to kill my mother. My father whom I respected and loved more than anyone in this life tried to kill my own mother.

Ok daelina you are saying your father tried to kill your mother?.

 Daelina:Yes Xavier

She was crying Xavier who was hearing all this things did not say anything but just hugged her tightly because he know now hugging is better than any other comfort words for her.



she says Xavier what should I do my father??

I am tired and scared of everything. My father was not like this you know it very well he was one of the persons I admire the most. Xavier says don't cry it will be alright everything will be fine trust yourself. He wipes her tears slowly with his thumb, eyes lingering on hers.

“You don’t have to be strong right now. I’m here, okay?”.

He kneels before her

He kneels beside her, his hand trembling slightly as he brushes a tear from her cheek.



 “Hey… don’t cry like that. It hurts to see you like this.”

She looks away, but he tilts her chin up gently.

“You don’t have to hide from me. If it hurts, then let it. I’ll stay right here until it doesn’t anymore.”

He smiles faintly, pressing his forehead against hers.

“No more tears, okay? You’ve got me now.”

And she became silent and he hold her for sometime they didn't talk anything as they knew everything. Silence and suddenly her stomach growled and he says you did not eat anything morning right?

she : mmm. He said one minute and he got to the cafeteria and bought a small packet of chocolate bun as it is her favorite and ran back to her and gave her. She who was in tears first washed her face and ate it . In his mind who saw her eating thought her of as a squirrel eating acorn.



He then suddenly and she punched him and he started acting hurt and she suddenly laughed and by seeing her laugh he also laughed. Then they get back to their classes and she got her mind back to the classes and she started studying. Time passed school got over and he got near to her and said I want to walk with you she did not say anything so he stood there thought she did not want him to come with her so when she walked she saw he did not come beside her so she called him and he came to her like a puppy wagging his tail. On their they talked so many things and they saw an ice cream store so he asked him do you want it and she said yes and he got into the store to buy it she said I would wait outside after that a few boys from other school approached her asking if she is single or taken and if she is single asked her to give her number. Before she could give an answer to it suddenly someone grabbed her waist and said she is my girlfriend
