In a small town lived a noble peasant, in a small house by a barn. His name was Lloyd, he lived with two brothers and one sister, all were younger than him. With his father gone and mother sick he was the only one who could make money to provide for his family. As the sun would rise over the hilltop, he set off to the farm to do his chores. With a lot of work ahead of him, he set off to collect the eggs from the coup and feed the pigs. With the eggs in a basket, he went for the cows to milk. As he set the eggs down he gathered his bucket and stool to ready the cows for milking. To calm the cows down before milking he would set food out and comb their fur. As He sat down to milk the cows one by one when his little sister had awakened and came to find him for breakfast.
He told Neve, “I’ll be there in a second just let me milk the cows first… oh and would you mind taking the eggs to the kitchen for me please.”
Neve replied, “Yes I’ll take them but hurry Ronan and Rhys are fighting.”
Lloyd replied, “Okay I’ll hurry up, tell them to calm down and prepare the ingredients for breakfast.” As little Neve hurried out taking eggs, Lloyd began to milk the cows. In the house
Neve told her brothers, “Lloyd said stop fighting and prepare the ingredients for breakfast.” Ronan and Rhys being the twins they were jumped up off the ground replying with great sigh, “Okay we will prepare.” happy Neve was overjoyed for breakfast and said, “Yay!”
As time passes Lloyd gets done milking making his way to the house he hummed. Walking into the kitchen Humming his little tune.
Neve says with delight, “Finally you're down we can now eat.” Lloyd replied “You have been waiting all this time, I feel special thank you ,Neve, let's eat!” Sitting down to eat they smiled and laughed. As the hours pass they work on the farm. They finish all of their chores by noon,
Lloyd said to them, “Well I have to head off now to try and sell the harvest, I’ll be back by nightfall don’t stay up too late.” Walking through the small town Lloyd stopped by all of the shops and merchants. With a bag full of copper Lloyd started to head home,
“Wow, today has been a long one. I wonder what the kids will think about how much we made.” Lloyd thought. As he was walking home he noticed the moon looked offly red that night, “Bloodshot moon” is what he thought about it.
As he neared his home he saw a fire and rushed to the house, running inside with hesitation he yelled, “Neve, Ronan, Rhys where are you!” no word was spoken which he could hear. All night, he looked for the kids, but they were not found. As the sun began to rise and the fire had all gone out he searched through the rubble, he found Neve dead and all charred. That day he lost everything, but only to find a knife that was clean and unburned. He buried his sister and set off to town with the only thing he could find, the knife. As he approached the town he saw something that terrified him to his core. An orc, a green tall creature with the mind of an infant and the strength of an oxe. Standing in the rubble of the houses that lay and the town run wild, Lloyd jumped into action and tried to help everyone he could get out alive.
Rushing everyone out he was hit down by the orc, as he told everyone to escape he yelled, “Everyone get out I’ll hold this ugly beast off to the best of my abilities.” Pulling out the knife, it started to glow to his surprise, although he was shocked he had no time to react as the orc rushed towards him. While running around the orc he took the knife and got ready for an attack, as he was behind the orc he jumped it’s back like a cowboy on a bull. He took his knife and dug it into the spine of the orc. With a great slash down the orc’s back slicing his back, cutting open his spine.
As Lloyd searched the town for survivors under the rubble, the whole town was thanking him for tanking down the beast and riding it from this world. But soon he knew there were more of them out there. A humble Townsmen said to him, “This isn’t the only attack that happened, there are more beasts attacking other towns. Please Lloyd help out others!”
Lloyd replied, “I will go out and help them, for they have taken everything from me.” At this moment Lloyd thought only of his family.
He set off on his journey to go kill the monsters and bring peace to the land. Off on his adventure he went, the days came and went like a dragon in the night. He was sure the knife that he found would help him along this adventure but it likely wouldn’t be the only one that had powers to defeat the nasty beast: orcs, werewolves, slimes, dragons, giants, and many more. Each one posed a threat to his world.
Many months have passed since the Blood Moon appeared, Lloyd lay rest in a tavern like a bear in the winter. With scars on his body he could tell a thousand tales. But finally with his knife in its sheath he could sleep. As morning came to wake him from his slumber, he got up to have a meaningful breakfast in the tavern below, as he came down the stairs the mistress of the tavern greeted him. “Morning, how was the stay?”
Lloyd replied, “Good Morning, it was wonderful to have a bed to sleep on and a healthy dinner. I hope to have some breakfast to go along with the stay. It smells delicious, like home.”
After a hardy breakfast he was on his way, he stopped by shops to make sure he had armor that wasn’t broken from days of killing beasts. Out of town away from the tavern he came across a forest, gloomy and dry. As he entered the forest he kept his guard up for he did not know of what's to come. Lloyd trekked through the forest on his way to the next town over. Wandering through the brushes and trees he thought of what is to come.
“I wonder what this castle that appeared is all about? The townspeople told me of a place where beasts gather.” As he came to a stop for the night, he started to hear crunching coming from the trees. Out of curiosity he went to look for what is creating the sound, he drew close to a group of hobgoblins feasting on deer and other animals. The sound they made was that of steel clashing. Lloyd thought of his approach and jumped into the middle of the group unsheathing his knife, he cut the throat of the hobgoblin leader. All of the hobgoblins attacked at once, with his knife he killed all of them. With only but a tiny cut of his hand, he went to his campsite to settle down.
