Oh, and before we dive in… a little about this story collection! 📚✨ Whispers of the city is a collection of horror urban legends and stories . Most of these stories are based on real events which read in magzine books and heard from my friends since childhood 😱… you know,the kinda stories which makes you peek under your bed in fear

But okay fine… I’ll admit some of them are totally made-up too 😏👻— coz come on, a little bit of imagination makes things way more fun (and a lil scary too 😬)

"They thought it was just a road trip — till the village woke up."
It was a deserted night….
The road was empty under the dark sky….not a soul in sight. Except-
Except a car passing on the highway and its head lights barely lightning up the road….
In the car there was a newly married couple who are travelling late night going on a road trip for their honeymoon .

(sighed) we should have started morning….else it wouldnt have took this much time.now its taking forever.

Our plan was to start in tthe morning .If we had followed our plan we would have reached long back.Not stuck on the road like this😤

Iam sorry aashu love🥺.If it wasnt for that stupid client who cancelled and rescheduled the meeting last minute .we would have started.😩

(trembling slightly)yeah and this darkness is giving me creeps😨

After a few whole minutes…..
Suddenly…..the car stopped 😳
It halted suddenly engine coughing up once or twice then went silent completely.
The head lights got turned off.
The couple looked at each other and groaned cursing their luck.what they never imagined was that it was just the beginning of a horrible nightmare……. 😱💀

Suddenly…..the car stopped 😳
The couple looked at each other and groaned cursing their luck.

He got of the car to check the engine. But surprisingly everything was fine.
Meanwhile aashika got off the car too.

(Trembling )What happened ?😨

I dont know .Everything seems fine .Dont know why the car suddenly stopped

What now😟 ? there’s not even a hotel in miles and also its night we cant stay in the car here all night.Its not safe

(While checking his phone)There’s only one way now.Find some mechanic to repair it.But there are no signals here to even call😩
Through the darkness, a narrow service road appeared faintly in the distance.

(muttering)Wait is that a service road?

Shourya switched on the torch light on his phone while they started going toward the service road .Their steps were slow yet steady.There was no noise except-
Except for their own steps, each one resounded in the silence, felt heavier than a hundred-kilo rock 😳
After walking a few miles ,they saw a small light flickering from far away.They couldn’t help but rise their hopes,thinking that they can ask help
They saw an old woman slightly bent,with bear foot ,messy clothes fluttering due to wind and hair fell over face ,hiding... everything .She had a small lantern in her hand.
