My Vampire Husband
noyona dead
11:48 p.m.
Noyona walked quickly down the lonely road, her heels tapping nervously against the pavement. She hadn’t realized how late it had gotten—office work had kept her trapped longer than usual.
Just a few weeks ago, she’d been transferred from bustling Dhaka to quiet Sylhet. Everything here still felt strange—the hills, the silence, the way the wind whispered after dark. Now, with the last rickshaw gone and no car in sight, the silence wrapped around her like a warning.
In the distance, a jackal howled. The sound sent a shiver up her spine. She clutched her handbag tighter and quickened her pace.
???
Just reach home,” she whispered to herself, “just a little more…”
The road was half-eaten by shadows—dense bushes on one side, a steep hill on the other. The air itself felt alive, humming with a strange chill.
Then—two glowing eyes flashed from inside the bushes.
Noyona froze. Her breath caught in her throat.
She quickly turned on her phone’s flashlight, her hand trembling, trying to see what it was. Sweat trickled down her forehead.
And then, before she could even think, something jumped out from the dark.
It was no animal she’d ever seen—its saliva dripped to the ground, its growls low and monstrous. Every instinct screamed: Run.
The creature’s eyes locked onto hers, and with each step it came closer, its snarl deepening.
Noyona stumbled backward, shaking.
And then—with one terrifying leap—it lunged at her.
She screamed, covered her face, and braced for death.
But nothing happened.
Seconds passed.
Silence
Slowly, she lowered her hands—and gasped. The beast was gone.
Her heart was pounding so violently it hurt. She turned her head toward the bushes.
Slurp... slurp...
Something was drinking. The sound of swallowing—wet and greedy—echoed through the dark.
Her body froze. She didn’t dare look.
Instead, she ran—ran blindly, her breath tearing from her lungs. She didn’t care where her legs carried her; she just wanted to live
Her phone light went out.
The battery died.
Now, swallowed by darkness, she realized she had run deep into the woods. There were no lights, no roads, not even the faintest sound of people.
???
“Is anyone there?” she screamed. “Please! Help me! I’m lost! Please, anyone!”
But no one answered.
This place—people always locked their doors before ten. No one would hear her now.
Her voice cracked. Still, she took a shaky step forward—
And suddenly, she felt something land behind her.
A gust of wind brushed past her ear.
Noyona turned slowly.
There, standing a few steps away, was a tall figure in a black hooded jacket. His face was hidden beneath the hood, his posture still, too still.
Her voice trembled
???
Wh-who are you? I—I’m lost. Please, can you help me get out of here?”
The man didn’t respond.
He didn’t move.
She took a hesitant step closer. Her skin was slick with sweat.
And then—a faint breeze carried her scent to him. The man lifted his head slightly and inhaled deeply, as if savoring it.
The moonlight slipped through the trees, touching his face.
She saw his eyes.
Blood-red.
And his smile—wide, unnatural—revealed two sharp fangs glistening under the moon.
Noyona’s scream tore through the night.
She tried to run, but before she could move, the figure appeared in front of her in an instant. He grabbed her by the waist, slammed her against a tree—and sank his teeth into her neck.
Her body stiffened. Her scream choked off.
He drank deeply. Slurp... slurp... gulp...
Her vision blurred.
The world darkened.
And then, there was nothing
When it was over, the vampire released her lifeless body. Her pale, bloodless skin gleamed faintly under the moonlight.
He smiled—a cruel, satisfied smile—and vanished into the night sky.
got saved
9:30 a.m.
The sunlight filtered into a cozy pink room. A girl slept soundly, hugging a giant teddy bear like a child.
fl mom
Chand, get up! You have college! How long are you planning to sleep? Should I let a cockroach crawl on you again?”
chadni(fl)
Ugh, Ma! You’re so evil! Every morning it’s the same! Sometimes I think you’re my stepmother! I’ll tell Abbu to get me a better one!”
fl mom
Yeah, yeah, do that. But get ready first. Breakfast’s waiting.”
She was beautiful—spoiled, fearless, and utterly mischievous. The only thing she feared was… cockroaches. Everyone in college called her The Naughty Bird. Teachers adored her, friends suffered her. She was chaos wrapped in charm.
After breakfast, she hopped on her favorite pink scooter—ignoring the family cars—and zoomed off.
At college, she ran straight to her best friends, Mitu and Sraboni.
chadni(fl)
Hey, you freeloaders! What are you gossiping about without me?”
mitu
Chandni! Stop it! Can’t we have one peaceful morning without your drama?”
chadni(fl)
But then I’d get bored! You two are my stress toys!”
sraboni
You’ll stop joking when you hear this. Something terrible happened last night.”
chadni(fl)
What? Don’t tell me one of you got married already! I love weddings!”
sraboni
Idiot,” Sraboni muttered
chadni(fl)
Fine, fine,” Chandni said. “Tell me. What happened?
mitu
You remember the new tenant I told you about? The woman from Dhaka—Noyona?”
chadni(fl)
Yeah, what about her?”
mitu
Her body was found under a tree near the woods. Her skin was… pale. As if every drop of blood was sucked out. And—this is even stranger—two wild creatures were found dead nearby. Their necks had the same… twin bite marks.”
chadni(fl)
So maybe those beasts killed her?”
sraboni
Then who killed them?” Sraboni whispered.
chadni(fl)
Easy! First, the beasts killed her. Then her ghost came back and killed them. Simple logic.”
sraboni
Logic?” Sraboni snapped. “Sometimes I wonder how you’re even passing exams!”
Chandni laughed and chased her friend around the gate. But her laughter cut short when—
HONK!
A speeding truck roared toward her.
She froze, screamed, and shut her eyes.
But instead of pain, she felt strong arms pull her away—so fast she didn’t even see the blur.
When she opened her eyes, she was safe by the roadside.
Only one figure walked away—tall, hands in his pockets, heading toward the college gate.
chadni(fl)
Who… was that?” she whispered.
sraboni
Chandni! Are you okay? That guy—he saved you! You almost got crushed!”
chadni(fl)
That guy… the one with the hoodie?”
mitu
Yeah. He’s strange. Never talks to anyone. Always wears that hood and sunglasses, even in the heat. I’ve never seen his face properly. But—he saved you. You should thank him.”
chadni(fl)
What’s his name?”
mitu
Shrabon,” Mitu said quietly. “I heard the teacher call him that.”
Chandni looked toward the gate again.
chadni(fl)
Shrabon,” she whispered.
Her heart fluttered for a reason she couldn’t explain.

After class —
As they stepped out, Chandni looked at Shraboni and Mitu with a mischievous grin 😏
chadni(fl)
Hey witches’ squad, let’s go find that Shrabon or Plabon or whatever his name is 😤. The poor guy still deserves a thank you from me, and I hate being in debt!” 😎
Shraboni rolled her eyes dramatically 🙄
sraboni
Aww my sea of kindness, huh? You talk like you’re gonna make him a millionaire just by saying thank you 😂. That man saved your life, girl! You should show some respect instead of acting like a street queen!” 😠
chadni(fl)
Excuse me, you broomstick ghost! 🧙🏻♀️ You think there’s anyone in this college as kind as me? A thank you from Chandni means world domination, got it? 😌 But I guess your cow-brain won’t get it, ugh move aside!” 😤
mitu
Uff, will you two ever stop? You start fighting anywhere, anytime! Doesn’t it get exhausting?” 😩
Chandni and Shraboni glanced at each other and replied in chorus—
chadni(fl)
Look who’s talking! 😏 The gentle, tail-wagging monkey of our trio 🐒! You think you never fight?” 😆
mitu
Uff, trying to explain anything to you both is like banging my head on a wall 😫. Anyway, leave it—let’s go find Shrabon bhaiya.”
Chandni frowned instantly
chadni(fl)
Wait, wait! Since when is he your bhaiya? You never told us you had a brother! Or is he your cousin?” 😏
Mitu raised her hands helplessly 😩
mitu
Please, O evil bird 🐦, my big mistake calling him that! Don’t start your detective work now! He’s our senior, so I said bhaiya, okay?” 😑
chadni(fl)
Hmm, fine 😒 now stop yapping and let’s go find him!”
Mitu was annoyed but stayed quiet—she knew arguing with this troublemaker was useless 😌
