Tere Mere Darmiyan
Chapter 1
Since morning, the weather has been a bit cool. But by evening, strong winds have started blowing along with rain.
Because of the rainfall, the roads are empty, and people have taken shelter inside their homes to stay safe.
The only government school of the village has closed for the day. Everyone is in a hurry to get back home. Today, Siya is going home all alone.
Siya’s house is a bit far from the school. It takes her about 20 minutes to get there by bicycle.
On the way, only students can be seen — everyone is in a hurry.
Siya is riding towards her home. Halfway there, the chain of her bicycle falls off, and she has to stop.
She looks around, hoping someone might be nearby to help her. But because of the rain, no one is around.
A little distance away, there’s an old shop where someone seems to be present today. Siya quickly heads there. Even though she’s wearing a raincoat, her school uniform has become a bit wet.

Chapter 2
She parks her bicycle near the shop and tries to fix the chain, but it doesn’t go back on.
Time is passing, and soon it will be dark. The road to her home is still long. Around her, only the sounds of wind and rain can be heard.
Slowly, Siya starts feeling scared, unsure what to do next.
Out of fear, tears begin to roll down her cheeks. She sits beside her bicycle and starts crying.
Just then, she hears someone approaching, and her fear grows stronger. She slowly lifts her eyes —
And sees a boy standing in front of her, wearing the same school uniform as hers…
Siya gets a little startled. The boy’s uniform is completely drenched.
His eyes meet Siya’s — he has dark eyes and black hair, from which water droplets are dripping as the rain continues to fall.
He walks toward Siya. Out of fear, Siya quickly stands up. The boy quietly looks at her, then at her bicycle.
Without saying a word, he trying to fixes the chain. Siya silently watches from the side. This time, the chain fits back in place.
Chapter 3
Siya stands there quietly, a bit scared and nervous.
As soon as the chain gets fixed, the boy steps aside.
Gathering her courage, Siya walks toward the cycle.
Just as she is about to leave, she turns around and says softly,

“Thank you,” with hesitation,

And without waiting for a reply, she drive away.

The boy looks in that direction for a while, and slowly, a smile appears on his face.

He is completely drenched.

Today was his first day at the new school, and in his hurry, he forgot to bring his raincoat.

After watching for a while to see whether the rain is slowing down or not, he too starts heading toward his home.
Both of them go to their own homes.
It was the first time they met,
but somehow, the image of each other’s face stayed in their eyes.
