Reborn from the Silent Grave...(TAEKOOK)

Walking With Hope

...
A figure stepped out of the government hospital, clad in tattered, worn-out clothes, a stack of hospital reports clutched in one hand, the other trembling as it rested on the small curve of his belly. His feet shuffled in battered old slippers, the soles cracked and worn through, scraping against the cold pavement.
The streets of Seoul stretched before him, alive with neon reflections bouncing off wet asphalt. Cars hummed and honked in the distance, motorcycles zipped past, and the occasional streetlight flickered, casting long, trembling shadows. Yet the world around him felt distant, almost unreal, compared to the tight knot of fear and loneliness in his chest.
He began the long walk toward the house where he worked as a maid. He couldn’t afford a cab — every penny counted, and each step was a harsh reminder of how little he had. The weight of exhaustion pressed down on him, yet he moved forward with quiet determination, each step heavy but fueled by the fragile hope that kept him going despite the bitter cold and the harsh reality surrounding him.
???
???
Happy and sad at the same time, he sighed, weary and worried, yet a small, tender smile played on his lips. Cradling his growing belly, he let that smile linger, as if the tiny life inside could feel his heart. His voice was soft and trembling as he whispered into the quiet night.
???
???
"Forgive me, baby… I can’t be the mother you deserve. Because of me, you’ve already had to endure so much. I can’t give you a father’s love. I can’t give you luxuries. But I promise… I’ll try. Soon, we’ll leave this place. Mummy will work hard for you… just for you."
???
???
He hugged his five-month-old belly, the only hope in a lonely world. Every step was heavy. The road was empty, dark, and silent, and the cold night wrapped around him like sorrow itself.
???
???
Suddenly, he froze in mid-step as his eyes fell on an ice cream parlour across the street. He bit his lip, his almond-shaped eyes wide with the kind of innocent wonder that seemed to hold the whole world and a galaxy of unspoken dreams. The sweet, creamy scent made his stomach ache — he longed for it, but he had no money.
???
???
And then, Out of the ice cream parlour, he saw, with longing eyes, a couple laughing loudly. The woman was throwing a little tantrum at her husband, stomping her feet, ice cream in hand. She seemed pregnant too — maybe around the same month as him.
???
???
Hunger clawed at his stomach painfully, a sharp reminder of what he could never have. He pressed his hands against his growing belly, feeling the tiny life inside him — his only warmth, his only hope in this lonely world. Swallowing back the tears, he took another step forward, forcing himself to keep walking.
Lost in his own thoughts, he barely noticed the van speeding down the quiet, dark street. It screeched to a halt beside him.
???
???
A man emerged and hissed to his partner, “This is him… the one from the photo.”
Before he could even react, a man lunged at him. Cold, merciless hands clamped tightly around his wrist, sending sharp, searing pain through him. A hiss escaped his lips.
???
???
A scream tore from his throat. "Let go! Let go of me!"
He twisted and struggled, but the man was far too strong. Desperation clawed at him, and he tried to reason through his fear.
???
???
"If this is for money… I don’t have any! I’m poor! Please… I’m pregnant! I have nothing… please, just let me go!"
But his pleas fell on deaf ears. The man struck him across the face with brutal force. His lips split, warm blood trickling down, yet still he tried to hold onto hope.
The man’s grip never loosened. With no sign of mercy, he was thrown harshly into the van, the world spinning violently around him. Sharp pain shot through his abdomen, his breath coming in ragged, heavy gasps, each inhale a struggle against the crushing fear and pain that consumed him.
???
???
He pressed his trembling hand against his belly, whispering into the darkness, “Hold on, little one… Mummy will never give up on you.”
But the weight of fear, exhaustion, and worry for his baby’s safety pressed down on him like a heavy stone. His vision blurred, and before he could think of any way to save himself, the world tilted, and darkness swallowed him.
The van kept moving, carrying him further into the darkness. In the cold, silent night, no one noticed. No one cared.

When the Lights Flicker

...
...
The Jeon mansion stood tall under Seoul’s moonlight, its marble walls gleaming — beautiful, heartless, and cold.
The front door opened, and Jeon Justin stepped inside, his arm wrapped around his smiling wife, Kim Hayerin who is now Jeon. They had just returned from their honeymoon, their laughter echoing through the grand hall like a melody too sweet to last.

“Maid!” he called, his tone sharp, impatient. “Where the hell is that useless servant?”
No reply.
Justin called again, irritation building in his chest. The maid stepped forward hesitantly, bowing her head.

“Sir… Tae— he’s gone. He… left the mansion a few days after you and Madam went for your honeymoon. He took his things and disappeared. We tried to stop him, but he didn’t listen.”
Jeon Justin

Justin stilled. For a moment, something unreadable flickered in his eyes — but then a cruel smirk formed. “So the leech finally ran off.” He scoffed. “Good. I was getting tired of looking at his pitiful face. A worthless stray doesn’t belong in this house.”
Jeon Hayerin

Hayerin frowned softly. “Justin… wasn’t that too harsh? He worked here for a While—”
“Worked?”
Jeon Justin

Justin cut her off sharply, his voice dripping with disdain. “He was a burden. Always quiet, always pathetic — like some lost stray we fed out of pity. I’m glad he’s gone. People like him don’t deserve to stay in our lives.”
His words echoed through the marble halls, sharp as broken glass.
Outside, the wind howled softly — almost as if the night itself was listening. From the far corner of the garden, beneath the faint shimmer of streetlights, a shadow stirred. A faint figure stood by the gate, eyes glinting — watching. Waiting.
Time skip.....One Year Later......
The night was heavy with the sound of rain. Two of Jeon Hayerin's personal bodyguards, Minho and Kyun, stumbled into the servants’ quarters after a long night of drinking and laughter at a club.
Minho
Minho
“Bro, I swear— those girls were wild!” Minho slurred, throwing his jacket aside.
Kyun
Kyun
Kyun chuckled, shaking his head. “Yeah, but this house? Always gives me the creeps. Like someone’s still watching.”
“Pfft.”
Minho
Minho
Minho scoffed. “Ghosts don’t live with rich people.”
They both laughed — until the lights flickered in their room.
Once. Twice. Then the entire room fell into an eerie half-darkness.
Kyun
Kyun
Electric fault again?” Kyun mumbled, tapping the switch. But the light bulb above them began to blink rapidly — like something breathing throught.
The laughter died instantly.
A low hum filled the air as the chandelier swayed slightly. Then came the sound — a sharp crash from upstairs, like glass shattering against the floor.
Both men turned, frozen.
Kyun
Kyun
“You heard that, right?”
Minho
Minho
“…Yeah.”
“Who’s there?”
Kyun
Kyun
Kyun called out, forcing confidence into his shaky voice.
The only reply was the television turning on — static flashing violently in the dark.
The chandelier rattled harder. A painting on the wall fell and shattered.
“And then… a strange, laughter-filled voice came from the darkness.”
“When the laughter finally faded, Then, in the silence that followed, a deep voice broke through — soft, trembling, but full of venom. .”
“Aren’t we quite enjoying the life, hmm?”
Both men went still, their hearts pounding.
Minho
Minho
“Who’s there?!” Minho shouted. “Come out!”
Kyun
Kyun
“Stop joking around, you bitch! Show yourself!” Kyun said in loud voice.
“Again, loud, eerie laughter rang out, and a voice whispered: ‘Come out… if you think you can handle me.’”
“‘You laughed when I cried. You hit me when I pleaded. And when I stopped breathing… you just kept laughing.’” A deep, chilling voice echoed through the room, sending shivers down their spines.
The windows burst open with a violent gust, the rain whipping in. Glass shards lifted from the floor — trembling in midair.
“The shadow hissed, ‘You helped them bury me,’ its cold voice trembling with rage.”
The shards shot forward, slicing across their skin like invisible blades. Both men screamed in agony, clutching their faces.
From the dark corner of the room, a shadow began to form — faint at first, then solid. Pale skin. Blood-stained shirt. Eyes glowing faintly, filled with endless sorrow and rage.
You enjoyed watching others suffer and you like Fucking others aren't you” the voice whispered. “ “Come on… let's get you Fuck each other. This will be fun.” isn't it?
“Both went deathly pale, falling to their knees as they begged the shadow. ‘Spare us… please!’”
“Harghk… harghk…” The shadow laughed loudly, a chilling, unnatural sound. “Nah… nah… nah…in deepest chilling voice You will enjoy this. I will let you enjoy. I am being generous. You… should appreciate it.”
Their bodies still and lost its control, they come closer to each other and started strip their own self, and in no time their lower half connected with each other in rugh way and bothe started Fuck each other turn after turn, moving as if pulled by unseen strings. Within hours, the news exploded across every screen and newspaper:
The news spread fast — “Unnatural Deaths at Jeon Mansion.”

People whispered of curses. Of ghosts.
“Amid all the chaos, a whisper echoed: ‘You can kill the body… And then fade away, leaving a half-finished puzzle without anyone’s knowledge.’”

The Investigation

[Justin’s POV – Overseas, 9:42 A.M.]
The hotel suite smelled of coffee and fresh ink — contracts scattered across the table, Seoul time glowing faintly on his phone screen. Jeon Justin leaned back in his chair, closing another deal worth millions when the call came through.
Jeon Hayerin
Jeon Hayerin
📲...“J-Justin… you need to come home. Something happened. The guards—they’re dead.”
Silence.
For a second, Justin thought she was joking. But her voice was shaking. Real fear. Not the dramatic kind she used when she wanted attention — this was different.
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
📲...(cold, controlled): “What do you mean dead?”
Jeon Hayerin
Jeon Hayerin
“The police are here. They’re saying strange things—please, just come back.”
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
📲...“Hmm… don’t stress yourself, I’m on my way,” he said softly, and ended the call. He exhaled slowly, rubbing his temples. The deal could wait — this couldn’t.
Jeon Justin

He pressed the intercom on his desk.
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
“Daniel, prepare the jet. We’re flying back to Seoul. Now.”
Secretary Daniel (on 🔊): “Yes, sir. Two hours to departure.”
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
To himself, softly, “Thirteen hours home… and I’ll find out who dares mess with my house.”
Justin poured himself a drink — one slow sip of whiskey — and looked out over the foreign skyline, his reflection hard and silent in the glass. He hated the feeling in his chest — it wasn’t fear. It was something heavier. A quiet, growing dread.
INT. JEON MANSION – MORNING
Rain lashes against the iron gates as police cars crowd the front yard. Yellow tape cuts through the marble steps of the once-pristine Jeon estate.
Detective Kang flips through his notepad while Mrs. Kim Hayerin (now Mrs. Jeon) sits pale-faced on the couch, hands trembling around her teacup.
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
“Mrs. Jeon, can you confirm if the two guards—Minho and Kyun—had any personal issues with the family?”
Jeon Hayerin
Jeon Hayerin
Softly: “No… they were loud, careless sometimes, but not dangerous. They’d been with us for years.”
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
Mm. Then there’s something else.” (he hesitates, lowers his voice) “The forensics report just came in. Their blood alcohol was high. No sign of poison or assault. Autopsy says—”
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
He clears his throat. “—they likely died during… mutual sexual activity. Possibly heart failure. CCTV footage shows them together in the servants’ quarters—then it goes fuzzy. Static covers everything after 3:04 a.m.”
Jeon Hayerin
Jeon Hayerin
Staring in disbelief: “What did you just say, Detective Kang?” “That’s… impossible. They weren’t like that. Something’s wrong.” She said sharply.
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
I agree, but without physical evidence, this isn’t classified as homicide. The case will be closed.”
Jeon Hayerin
Jeon Hayerin
Hayrin’s breath hitches as she grips her phone. She scrolls to Justin’s contact, presses call.
INT. PRIVATE JET
Justin Jeon, dressed in a charcoal suit, stares out the window at the dark clouds rushing beneath him. Suddenly his calls ring and his wife photo and name flush on the screen.
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
📲...“I heard. I’m on my way, Haye. Keep the police there until I land.”
Jeon Hayerin
Jeon Hayerin
Voice trembling: “They said it wasn’t murder. That it was… them.”
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
📲 “Okay… I’ll reach in an hour. Wait for me, and pass this message to Detective Kang too. And calm down, okay?” he said softly.
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
He hangs up, eyes narrowing as lightning flashes across the sky.
[Scene: Jeon Mansion – 3:05 P.M.]
The sound of engines echoed through the quiet estate as a black sedan rolled past the iron gates of the Jeon mansion. Sunlight glared off its polished surface — but the air around the house felt heavy, almost waiting.
Jeon Justin stepped out, suit crisp, expression unreadable. He’d flown across continents, landed barely an hour ago, and come straight home without rest.
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
“Thirteen hours of flight,” he thought. “And now, I find my house turned into a crime scene.”
Two patrol cars still stood parked near the fountain. Detective Kang and two officers waited at the door, bowing slightly as he approached.
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
“Mr. Jeon, welcome back. I’m Detective Kang, leading the investigation. My condolences for the unfortunate event.”
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
❄️❄️“I don’t need condolences, Detective. I need clarity. What exactly happened here?”
They walked through the hall together — the faint smell of cleaning chemicals still lingering in the air. Sunlight filtered through the tall windows, scattering across the spotless marble floor. Everything looked perfectly normal, yet it felt wrong — unnaturally still.
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
“At approximately 3 a.m., your two guards — Minho and Kyun — were found dead in the servants’ quarters by the morning staff. There were no signs of forced entry or struggle. Autopsy reports show high alcohol levels and… an indication of overexertion from excessive sexual activity.”
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
❄️❄️flatly: “You’re saying they died from their own stupidity?”
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
“Essentially, yes. The CCTV footage supports it. The two men are seen behaving intimately. At 3:04 a.m., the camera feed distorts — static, flicker, then cuts off. No one else appears. No sounds of distress. Forensics found no toxins or blunt trauma. All data aligns with accidental death.”
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
Justin’s jaw flexed. He turned his gaze toward the wide staircase, where Hayerin stood silently watching from above — pale, shaken.
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
❄️❄️“And this is the conclusion you’re satisfied with? Drunk guards dying like animals?”
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
Carefully: “With the available evidence, yes, sir. We found nothing suggesting homicide. If something new arises, we’ll reopen the case, but as of now—”
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
(interrupting): “—you’re closing it.”
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
“Yes, Mr. Jeon.”
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
Justin stared at him for a long moment, unreadable, then extended his hand.
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
“I appreciate your effort, Detective. I’ll review the recordings myself.”
Directive Kang
Directive Kang
(shaking his hand): “Of course, sir. And… a word of advice — tell your wife to rest. She’s been under great stress.”
Jeon Justin
Jeon Justin
❄️❄️ “She will.”
The detective bowed again, signaled to his team, and within minutes the police cars began rolling out of the mansion’s drive.
