PROLOGUE

Dark clouds over the Kathmandu Valley. The sound of ढोल (ḍhol = drum) echoes. Flames flicker around a ritual circle as an old धामी (dhāmī = shaman) chants.

धामी (Dhāmī):

“यो माटोमा धेरै राक्षसहरू निदाएका छन्। तर जब मान्छेहरूले आफ्नो धर्म बिर्सन्छन्... तिनीहरू भोकाएर उठ्छन्।”

("Many demons sleep in this soil. But when humans forget their faith... they awaken hungry.")

A masked figure dances, embodying the Lakhey — wild hair, red face, fangs. Children shiver. The screen shifts: the masked dance dissolves into a real monster stalking through foggy forest.

ACT I – THE VILLAGE AND FEAR

Kathmandu Valley, 1700s. Terraced fields, temples, chautari (resting platforms under trees).

Narration (Voice-over):

"In those days, when Malla kings ruled, the nights belonged not only to gods, but to demons of folklore. Among them — the Lakhey, eater of flesh."

Scene 1 – Village Life

In Patan’s outskirts, villagers harvest rice.

MC Introduction:

Our main character, Arjun, mid-20s, wiry, scarred, a former soldier from a local राजा (rājā = king)'s guard. He now tends fields with his दाजु (dāju = elder brother) and आमै (āmāi = mother).

Mother (आमै):

“अर्जुन, आज बेलुकी नगरमा नजानू। सुनेको छु—राक्षसले फेरि मान्छे खाएको छ।”

("Arjun, do not go to the town tonight. I heard—the demon has eaten again.")

Arjun:

“आमा, म डराउँदिनँ। यो गाउँलाई जोगाउने जिम्मा मेरो हो।”

("Mother, I am not afraid. It is my duty to protect this village.")

Scene 2 – The Attack

Night falls. The Lakhey roars in the distance. Drums beat frantically.

Villagers rush to hide, chanting,

“देउता बचाऊ! देउता बचाऊ!”

("Gods, save us!")

Through mist, the Lakhey appears — red hair like fire, claws dripping blood. It drags a man screaming into the shadows.

Arjun watches, frozen. The fear is real.

ACT II – THE JOURNEY & TRIALS

Scene 3 – The Council

At the temple courtyard, the village elders gather. Butter lamps flicker.

Elder:

“Lakheyले हाम्रो गाउँलाई शाप दिएको छ। धामी बिना, हामी केही गर्न सक्दैनौं।”

("The Lakhey has cursed our village. Without the shaman, we can do nothing.")

A traveling धामी (dhāmī) named Bidur steps forward. His eyes carry both wisdom and madness.

Bidur:

“यो राक्षस सामान्य होइन। यसलाई हराउन—रुद्राक्ष (rudrākṣa = sacred bead) र मन्त्र (mantra) चाहिन्छ। तर को लड्ने?”

("This demon is no ordinary beast. To defeat it — one needs sacred beads and mantra. But who will fight?")

Everyone looks at Arjun.

Arjun:

“म। मेरो आमाले भनेको थियो—धैर्यवानले मात्र गाउँ जोगाउँछ।”

("Me. My mother always said—only the brave can protect the village.")

Scene 4 – Ritual Preparation

Bidur paints Arjun’s forehead with sindoor (vermillion). He gives him a khukuri (curved blade).

Bidur:

“यो खुकुरी देवताले आशीर्वाद दिनुभएको हो। तर सम्झ—धैर्य र विश्वास बिना, धातुले मात्र केही गर्दैन।”

("This khukuri is blessed by the gods. But remember—without courage and faith, metal alone is useless.")

They chant:

“ॐ हुम फट्!”

Scene 5 – The Journey into the Forest

Arjun treks into the dense jungle. He carries a torch. Strange cries echo. He sees bones hanging from trees. The Lakhey is near.

Flashback: Arjun remembers his little दिदी (didī = elder sister), killed by a beast years ago. His fear turns into rage.

ACT III – THE CONFRONTATION

Scene 6 – First Clash

The Lakhey charges. Hair flies like a storm, fangs gleaming. Arjun slashes with his khukuri. Sparks fly, but the Lakhey barely bleeds.

Lakhey (roaring in Nepali):

“तिमी मान्छे—मेरो भोक रोकिन्न!”

("You human—my hunger will not end!")

The ground shakes. Arjun is thrown into a tree.

Scene 7 – The Mantra Power

Bidur arrives, beating the ढोल (ḍhol). The sound weakens the demon.

Bidur:

“अर्जुन! मन्त्र पढ!”

("Arjun! Recite the mantra!")

Arjun, bleeding, chants shakily:

“ॐ हुम हुम फट्! देउता बचाऊ!”

("Om Hum Hum Phat! Gods, protect us!")

The Lakhey shrieks as his body burns with unseen fire.

Scene 8 – The Final Strike

Arjun leaps, planting the rudrākṣa beads into the Lakhey’s chest, then drives his khukuri deep.

Arjun (screaming):

“यो गाउँलाई अझ रगत चाहिँदैन!”

("This village needs no more blood!")

The Lakhey explodes in fire and ash. The forest grows silent.

EPILOGUE

Back at the village, villagers light lamps in celebration.

Mother (आमै), weeping with relief:

“मेरा छोराले गाउँ जोगायो।”

("My son has saved the village.")

Narration (Voice-over):

"And so, in the year of shadows, one man stood against the hunger of demons. But in Nepal’s soil... many more still sleep, waiting."

Final shot: a cave deep in the mountains. Dozens of red eyes open in darkness.

Setting: 1700s Bhaktapur, narrow cobbled streets, temples, and traditional Newar homes. One year after the Lakhey attack in Kathmandu.

PROLOGUE

Fog blankets the city. Bells toll from Nyatapola Temple. Villagers whisper rumors in the streets.

Narration (Voice-over):

“भक्तपुरको गल्लीहरू कहिले खामोश थिएनन्, तर अहिले... डर छायो। अर्को राक्षस आएको छ। यो ख्याक हो—मान्छे खाइदिने भयानक प्राणी।”

("Bhaktapur’s alleys were never silent, but now… fear looms. Another demon has come. The Khyak—terrible eater of humans.")

ACT I – VILLAGE UNDER SHADOWS

Scene 1 – Introduction of MC

MC: Gopal, late 20s, lean, street-smart, son of a pottery maker. He survived the Lakhey chaos in Kathmandu as a child and grew up hearing tales of demons. Unlike Arjun, he is not a soldier—he relies on cunning, agility, and local lore.

Gopal navigates narrow alleys, balancing clay pots. He notices a neighbor missing; blood stains a doorstep.

Gopal (whispering):

“फेरि प्राणी आएको छ। यसपालि लखेको जस्तो होइन।”

("The creature is here again. Not like the Lakhey this time.")

Villagers peek from windows, holding candles, praying silently.

Scene 2 – Khyak’s First Attack

Night falls. A shadow leaps across rooftops. The Khyak is smaller but faster than Lakhey, with hunched back, sharp teeth, and long clawed fingers. It shrieks inhumanly.

Gopal witnesses it dragging a woman into the shadows.

Villager (screaming):

“बचाऊ! बचाऊ!”

("Help! Help!")

Gopal attempts to chase but the creature vanishes into the foggy streets.

ACT II – JOURNEY AND TRIALS

Scene 3 – Seeking Wisdom

Gopal visits Dhāmī Maya, a female shaman living near Taumadhi Square.

Maya:

“ख्याक—पुरानो राक्षस हो। यो अरू प्राणी जस्तै होईन। यो डर र शोकमा बल पाउँछ। तिमी आफ्नो डर सामना गर्न सक्छौं?”

("Khyak is an ancient demon. Not like any other. It feeds on fear and sorrow. Can you face your own fear?")

Maya gives him sacred herbs and a dagger carved from the roots of a sacred fig tree.

Gopal:

“म डराउँछु, तर अरूलाई जोगाउनुपर्छ।”

("I am afraid, but I must protect others.")

Scene 4 – Training Montage / Sadness

Gopal trains across rooftops, hides in temples, and sharpens his dagger. He remembers a child from his neighborhood who died last year to Lakhey.

Flashback of the child crying:

“अंकल, म डराउँछु।”

("Uncle, I’m scared.")

Gopal fights his own guilt, silent tears on his face. The scene ends with him preparing traps for the Khyak.

ACT III – CONFRONTATION

Scene 5 – Alley Chase & Fight

Rain pours over Bhaktapur’s streets. Khyak leaps between rooftops, hissing.

Gopal throws nets and swings from temple eaves. The creature scratches walls, shrieks, throws garbage and bricks at him.

Gopal (shouting):

“आज तिमीलाई रोक्छु!”

("Today, I stop you!")

Close combat ensues. Gopal stabs with his sacred dagger, but Khyak is fast, dodges, and retaliates. Villagers watch in terror from windows. The battle moves from narrow alleys to the Taumadhi Square steps.

Scene 6 – Sadness & Motivation

Gopal is pinned, bleeding, exhausted. He sees the specter of the child who died from Lakhey, whispering:

“अँध्यारोको सामना गर। डरले हार्न नदेऊ।”

("Face the darkness. Do not let fear defeat you.")

This vision reinvigorates him. Tears and rage fuel his next move.

Scene 7 – Final Strike

Gopal lures Khyak into a sacred temple courtyard. Using the herbs and dagger, chants an ancient mantra while dodging attacks. The demon screeches, thrashes, and finally collapses into a pit of fire ignited by oil lamps and incense.

The city is silent, only the rain dripping on stone. Villagers come out, mourning losses but relieved.

EPILOGUE

Narration (Voice-over):

“भक्तपुरको गल्लीहरू फेरि शान्त भए। तर कथा भनिन्छ—हरेक राक्षस मरेको छैन। कहिले काहीँ उनी फेरि उठ्छन्, केवल तब मात्र जब मानव डर भुल्छन्।”

("Bhaktapur’s alleys are quiet again. But tales say—not every demon dies. Sometimes they rise again, only when humans forget their fear.")

Final shot: a shadow flickers across a rooftop, barely visible under the moonlight.

New Characters

Gopal (Hero): Agile, clever, emotionally driven by guilt and responsibility. Uses traps, sacred herbs, and urban agility rather than brute force.

Khyak (Villain): Smaller than Lakhey but extremely fast, feeds on human fear and sorrow. Hunchbacked, elongated limbs, claws and teeth sharper than the previous demon. Sadistic and cunning.

Universe: NFU – Nepali Folklore Universe

Setting: 1700s Butwal, during trade route chaos between India and Nepal. Dense forests, rivers, and hill settlements.

Story Overview

A year after the fall of the Khyak in Bhaktapur, rumors spread of another beast in Butwal: a Pisach (पिशाच) — corpse-eating demon of Nepali folklore. Unlike Lakhey or Khyak, Pisach doesn’t just hunt—it possesses humans, turning them into killers.

The MC is Kiran, a blacksmith’s son, forced into battle when his little brother is taken by the Pisach. This film blends folk horror with brutal combat, emotional loss, and survival in jungle terrain.

SCRIPT (Expanded into Acts)

PROLOGUE

Dense forest near Butwal. Traders move at night with torches. One man lags behind. The forest falls silent. A shadow with glowing eyes appears. The man screams, but his voice cuts off. Only dripping blood is heard.

Narrator:

“त्यो समयमा... बुटवलको बाटो रगतले भिजेको थियो। किनकि पिशाच आएको थियो।”

("In those times… Butwal’s roads were soaked in blood. Because the Pisach had come.")

ACT I – RISING FEAR

Scene 1 – Introduction of Kiran

Kiran, early 20s, strong arms from forging iron, practices swinging a heavy hammer outside his घर (ghar = home). His little भाई (bhāi = younger brother) laughs and imitates him.

Mother:

“बाबु, बेलुकी बाहिर नगइ देऊ। यहाँ रातमा सुरक्षित छैन।”

("Son, don’t go out at night. It is not safe here anymore.")

Kiran (smiling but serious):

“आमा, म यहाँ छु। कसैलाई केही हुँदैन।”

("Mother, I’m here. Nothing will happen to anyone.")

Scene 2 – First Tragedy

At night, villagers gather at a small shrine. Suddenly, a possessed villager attacks his own friend, eyes white, mouth frothing. The Pisach’s shadow slips away.

Kiran fights off the attacker with his smith hammer, but in the chaos his younger brother disappears into the forest.

Kiran’s scream echoes:

“भाइ! भाइ कहाँ गयौ?!”

("Brother! Where are you?!")

ACT II – PREPARATION & SADNESS

Scene 3 – The Dhami’s Warning

A local धामी (dhāmī = shaman) tells the people:

“पिशाच तिमीहरूको डर र दुःखमा बल पाउँछ। यो आत्मा होइन—यो रगतको भोक हो।”

("Pisach feeds on your fear and sorrow. It is not just a spirit—it is hunger for blood.")

He hands Kiran a talisman and warns him only fire and sacred weapons can kill it.

Scene 4 – Training / Emotional Core

Kiran practices with a khukuri, turning his blacksmith skills into combat training. He tempers blades in fire, shaping his weapon with sweat and grief.

Montage:

Kiran fights straw dummies at night.

Flashbacks of playing with his younger brother.

Silent tears falling on the glowing forge.

He whispers:

“भाइ, म तिमीलाई फर्काएर ल्याउँछु।”

("Brother, I will bring you back.")

ACT III – FIGHTING SHADOWS

Scene 5 – First Battle

In the jungle, Kiran tracks bloody footprints. Suddenly, three possessed villagers ambush him, snarling like beasts.

Kiran dodges, slashes with khukuri.

He breaks one’s arm with a hammer strike.

Another lunges; he kicks it into a tree.

The last nearly kills him until he drives the khukuri through its chest.

He pants, bloodied, realizing these were his neighbors. The sadness weighs heavy.

Kiran:

“पिशाच, तिमीलाई आज रातै हराउँछु।”

("Pisach, tonight I will destroy you.")

Scene 6 – The Pisach Revealed

Thunderstorm. The Pisach emerges—tall, skeletal, gray-skinned, with hollow eyes and blood-soaked teeth. Its movements are twisted, unnatural.

Pisach (growling):

“मान्छे… तिमी दुःखको स्वाद लिएर बलियो भएको छौ। तर म अझ बलियो छु।”

("Human… you grew strong from sorrow. But I am stronger.")

The fight begins—intense, brutal.

Pisach leaps, claws slashing trees.

Kiran rolls, slashes its leg.

Demon knocks him into mud, choking him.

Kiran spits blood, head-butts it, stabs its neck.

ACT IV – THE SAD TWIST

Scene 7 – The Brother

Behind the Pisach, Kiran sees his younger brother—possessed, white-eyed, snarling. The monster had claimed him.

Kiran freezes, blade trembling. Tears flood his face.

Brother (possessed, growling):

“दाजु… मलाई मार।”

("Brother… kill me.")

Kiran screams in agony. He doesn’t want to strike, but the Pisach uses his brother as a puppet to attack him.

The sad scene peaks: Kiran is forced to stab his brother’s chest while holding him, crying violently.

ACT V – FINAL VICTORY

Scene 8 – Fire and Ash

Enraged and broken, Kiran faces the Pisach one last time. He sets his forge hammer ablaze with oil, turning it into a burning weapon.

Pisach claws at him, but he smashes its face with fire.

Demon screeches, half its body melting.

Kiran roars and drives the burning hammer into its skull, shattering it.

The Pisach collapses into ash, screaming as the storm clears.

EPILOGUE

The village mourns. Kiran kneels at his brother’s funeral pyre, silent.

Narration:

“बुटवलमा रगत रोकिन्छ, तर पिशाचहरूको कथा रोकिन्न। किनकि जहाँ दुःख हुन्छ, त्यहाँ तिनीहरूको भोक पनि हुन्छ।”

("Blood stops in Butwal, but the tale of Pisachs does not. Where sorrow exists, their hunger remains.")

Final shot: deep inside another forest, more shadows awaken.
