This Is Wrong
Chapter
Kim Hyesun
“Son, are you done?”
Kim Taehyung
*Glance toward the door.*
“Just a second, Eomma.”
*continuing to fix himself in front of the mirror.*
Kim Hyesun
“Okay. I'll wait for you downstairs,”
He didn’t bother to answer back and focused on his appearance. Tonight was special, and he needed to look presentable in their eyes. A smile curved his lips once he was done. He wore a plain white shirt inside, layered with a charcoal gray suit, paired with khaki pants.
He left his room and went downstairs, where his mother was already waiting. She was busy typing on her phone, likely updating Minho.
Kim Hyesun
*Glance of her son*
“Wow! You're so handsome, my son,”
Kim Taehyung
“And you look classy, Eomma. It’s not obvious that you’re already forties.”
It was the truth—his mother didn’t look her age at all. If she weren’t his mom, he would’ve thought she was still in her twenties.
Tae nodded. When they stepped out of the house, Mr.Petru immediately opened the back seat of his mother’s SUV. She went in first, and he followed. Soon, the engine started, and they were on their way.
Kim Hyesun
“Are you ready to meet your future siblings, Tae?”
Looked at his mom. Excitement and apprehension warred inside him. He was happy because he would finally have siblings and no longer be alone. But fear weighed on him—what if they didn’t accept him? What if it strained his mother’s relationship with Minho? That would be a massive problem.
Kim Taehyung
“Eomma, what if they don’t like me? What if they don’t accept me as their brother?”
Kim Hyesun
*Placing her hand over his.*
“Don’t overthink too much. I know you, my son. You’re a nice and good person. I’m sure they can easily accept you as their brother. So stop worrying.”
Still, Tae couldn’t help but feel anxious.
Kim Taehyung
*Shrugged.*
“I hope so…”
After some time, they arrived at a fine dining restaurant. Tae and his mother stepped out of the car and went inside. From the entrance, they immediately spotted Mr.Minho, who was with a young woman.Tae frowned slightly. Wasn’t he supposed to have two children? Where was the other one?
Minho greeted them warmly. He kissed Tae’s mother on the cheek, then Tae offered a respectful bow his head. The joy in Minho’s eyes was obvious—he was truly excited about tonight.
Kim Taehyung
*took a deep breath.*
💭"Okay, Tae. Act normal. If they accept you, be happy. If they don’t, just understand. Don’t cause any problems"
His gaze met the girl’s across the table. She smiled at him.
Jeon Jieun
“Appa,”
*responded softly as she stood up.*
Jeon Minho
“Jieun, I’d like you to meet Taehyung your Aunt Hyesun’s son.
Jeon Minho
“Taehyung, this is Jieun, my daughter and your future Noona.”
Jieun immediately extended her hand, which Tae accepted, his smile never faltering.
Jeon Jieun
“Nice to meet you, Tae-hyung,”
Kim Taehyung
“N-Nice to m-meet you too,Jieun noona,”
*stammered before sitting down.*
Kim Hyesun
"Yeobo, where is he?”
*clearly referring to Minho’s other child.*
Jeon Minho
“He texted me. He’s on his way. For now, let’s order first,”
*calling for a waiter.*
Once they had given their orders, silence settled until Jieun suddenly spoke.
Jeon Jieun
“Hi, Taehyung.”
Kim Taehyung
*turned to her, a little surprised.*
“Hello, Noona.”
Jeon Jieun
“You seem nervous,”
She wasn’t wrong—he was still trembling inside.
Kim Taehyung
“Just a little bit,”
*shyly.*
Jeon Jieun
*smiled*
“Don’t worry, I won’t be harsh on you. In fact, I’m excited to meet you. I finally get to have a brother again.”
Her words felt like light shining above her head. Was this it? Did it mean she already accepted him?
Kim Taehyung
“You mean… it’s okay with you that I’ll be your brother?”
*clarified*
Jeon Jieun
“Don’t you want to?”
*teased, still smiling.*
Kim Taehyung
“Of course I do,”
*soft laugh.*
Kim Taehyung
“Thank you, Noona.”
Jeon Jieun
“You’re welcome. I can’t wait until Appa and Aunt get married so that you’ll officially be my brother.”
Kim Taehyung
“Me too, Noona. Finally, I’ll have siblings of my own,”
Jeon Jieun
*Leaned over to hug him.*
“Welcome to our family, Taehyung,”
*whispered in his ear.*
Kim Taehyung
“Thank you, Jieun noona,”
*eyes brimming with tears.*
Jeon Minho
“That’s wonderful to see,”
*touched by the scene.*
Jeon Minho
“My daughter and my future son are already close.”
Tae glanced at his eomma, who was beaming with joy. For a moment, everything felt right. But deep inside, unease still clung to him, gnawing at his chest. Something didn’t feel right. Something was wrong.
Tae muttered under his breath when his spoon slipped from his hand and fell under the table. He bent down to retrieve it.
Jeon Minho
“Finally, you’re here!”
???
“Appa, sorry I’m late. Traffic was terrible…”
Tae froze. That voice. That deep, baritone voice. His chest pounded violently. He knew that voice.
Clutching the spoon, he quickly sat upright—only to drop it again. His breath caught in his throat as his eyes locked with the man who had just arrived.
Kim Taehyung
💭No… no, no, no!
Kim Taehyung
💭Please, if this is a dream, let me wake up now! This can’t be happening!
Jeon Minho
“Taehyung, I’d like you to meet my son, Jungkook.
Jeon Minho
Jungkook, this is Taehyung—your future brother.”
The world crumbled around him. Tears streamed down his face as he shook his head in disbelief.
Kim Taehyung
💭Why? Out of all the people in the world… why him? Why my ex-boyfriend?
Chapter
Tae’s mouth hung slightly open in awe as he stared at the massive mansion in front of him. The building stood tall and majestic, gleaming in two tones: the entire facade was pure white, with golden accents at every corner. His mother wasn’t exaggerating. Minho truly lived in luxury.
The sound of a car door shutting pulled Tae from his thoughts. Minho circled around and approached him and his mother.
Jeon Minho
“Welcome to our home, Taehyung,”
Tae smiled as they climbed the steps leading to the grand entrance. When they finally entered, he couldn’t help but marvel even more. The interior looked like a Spanish-inspired estate, elegant and grand, just like the old houses in history books.
Yoon Bomi
“Yes, Mr.Minho…”
*hurrying toward them.*
Jeon Minho
“Taehyung, this is Bomi, the head housekeeper of our mansion.
Bomi, this is Taehyung, the son of my Yeobo Hyesun.”
The woman immediately offered her hand.
Yoon Bomi
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sir-
Kim Taehyung
“Just Tae or Taehyung, please,”
*Interrupted with a polite smile, shaking her hand.*
He wasn’t used to being addressed so formally. Besides, she was older than him—he should be the one showing respect, not the other way around.
Jeon Minho
"Has Junkook come home yet?”
Yoon Bomi
“Not yet,Mr.Minho. But Ms.Jieun is in the kitchen, waiting for you to have lunch,”
Jeon Minho
"In that case, let’s eat,”
They made their way toward the dining kitchen, where Jieun immediately turned at the sound of their footsteps.
Jeon Jieun
“Tae!”
*quickly rising from her seat to approach him.*
Vee stepped forward and embraced her warmly.
Jeon Jieun
“Welcome home, Tae.”
Kim Taehyung
"Thank you, Noona,”
Jeon Minho
“Save the catching up for later. Let’s eat first,”
Jieun greeted her father and Hyesun with respect before returning to the table. Tae sat beside her at the enormous round table, which was filled with various dishes. They began to eat, the only sound filling the air being the quiet clinking of cutlery, until Minho broke the silence.
Jeon Minho
“Tae, what are you busy with these days?”
Tae reached for his glass of water, about to answer, but his mother spoke
Kim Hyesun
“He has his own business,”
*proudly.*
Jeon Minho
“Really? What kind of business?”
Kim Taehyung
“A flower shop, Uncle,”
Kim Taehyung
“Actually, it was originally Eomma but I was the one who helped it grow. Right, Eomma?”
Kim Hyesun
“That business is really his now,”
Jeon Minho
“Wow! At young age, and already a business owner. Amazing,”
Kim Taehyung
“Thank you, Uncle,”
Jeon Minho
“How about you, Jieun? Did you finally sort out your passport for Europe?”
Jeon Jieun
“Yes, Appa. I already have a flight schedule. Right after your wedding with Aunt Hyesun,”
Kim Taehyung
“Noona, you’re leaving?”
*sad*
Jeon Jieun
“I have to. I haven’t finished my work in Europe yet. I only came home to help with Appa and Aunt’s wedding,”
Tae’s chest tightened. That meant he would be left in the mansion with Jungkook.
Kim Taehyung
“But you’ll come back, right?”🥺
Jeon Jieun
“Of course. I’ll just finish my work in Europe, so don’t be sad, little bro,”
Tae silently sighed in relief. Thank God. The last thing he wanted was to be left alone in the same house with Jungkook. Even before moving in, one of his plans was to avoid him at all costs. He knew it was foolish, since they would be living under the same roof, but he would still do everything to make sure their paths didn’t cross.
Yoon Bomi
“Mr.Minho, Sir Jungkook has arrived,”
*suddenly announced, stepping into the dining kitchen.*
Tae froze. His throat tightened, making it hard to swallow his food.
Kim Taehyung
💭He’s here! Calm down, Tae. Act normal. Just ignore him.
Jeon Minho
“Call him. Tell him to join us for lunch,”
Tae’s heart pounded loudly.
Yoon Bomi
“Actually, Mr.Minho,”
Yoon Bomi
“he said he doesn’t have the appetite to eat.”
Kim Taehyung
💭Thank goodness.
Tae focused on finishing his meal. When lunch ended, Minho instructed Bomi to escort him to his room. Together, they climbed the mansion’s grand staircase. Along the way, Bomi pointed out where Jieun and Jungkook room, and the couple’s rooms were located. And Tae’s feel dissapointed, his room was right next door to Jungkook's room.
Yoon Bomi
“Tae, if you need anything, just call me, okay?”
*reminded him once they stopped in front of his door.*
Kim Taehyung
“I will, thank you.”
Bomi waited until Tae stepped inside his room before leaving.
Tae’s eyes widened as he took in the sight of his new room. It was spacious, pristine, and undeniably beautiful. Much larger than his old room at home. He wandered inside, marveling at the bathroom that was as big as his former bedroom.
This is really the beginning of my new life, he thought.
Their belongings had already been moved inside earlier. He quickly set about arranging his things—placing clothes in the dresser, hanging shirts and slacks neatly in the wardrobe, and decorating with a few personal touches. On the nightstand, he placed the family picture he had brought. His chest tightened as he stared at the photo, memories flooding back. A tear slipped down his cheek before he could stop it.
Kim Taehyung
I miss you, Appa. It’s still so hard to accept that you’re gone.
He quickly wiped his tears when the door opened. His mother walked in, smiling warmly as she approached. Her gaze fell on the photo in his hand, and she gently took it.
Kim Hyesun
“You still carry this with you?”
*sitting beside him.*
Kim Taehyung
“Is it okay, Eomma?”
His mother nodded, though her eyes reflected the same grief he felt. After a moment, she set the frame down on the bed.
Kim Hyesun
“Do you like your room?”
*changing the subject.*
Kim Taehyung
“Hmmm. It’s too big compared to my old one.”
Kim Hyesun
“You’ll get used to it. This is the new beginning of our lives.”
Kim Taehyung
“You’re right, Eomma. I guess I have to start adjusting to this new life,”
They chatted for a while until she excused herself to rest. Exhaustion from the day’s travel was clear on her face.
Left alone, Tae climbed into bed and opened his laptop. A notification appeared—an email from the flower farm he ordered from, informing him that his delivery would arrive early tomorrow. He spent some time responding to customers before dozing off.
By the time he woke, evening had already fallen. Bomi knocked to inform him it was time for dinner.
Kim Taehyung
“Please tell them I’ll follow shortly,”
Yoon Bomi
“Of course, Taehyung.”
Kim Taehyung
“Ahmmm… is J-Jungkook is in the kitchen?”
Yoon Bomi
“He hasn’t left his room all day. He hasn’t eaten either,”
Kim Taehyung
"Then… maybe bring him food instead,”
*surprising even himself with the hint of concern in his voice.*
Yoon Bomi
“You're right, Tae. Now, go and join them downstairs,”
*leave*
Tae passed by Jungkook's room on the way out, hesitating briefly at the door. Why wasn’t he coming out? Did he really not want them there? He shook his head. No. This was what he wanted—to stop caring about him.
At dinner, guilt pricked him when he realized they had waited for him to arrive before eating. He apologized quickly and joined them. Afterward, he excused himself, returning to his room to wash up and rest.
Chapter
Park Jimin
📱“Oh tae², how’s life with your eomma in your new house?”
Kim Taehyung
📱“It’s fine. I didn’t expect we’d actually be living in a mansion,”
*while blow-drying his hair.*
Park Jimin
📱“Wow, fancy! But hey… how about your ex, who’s now technically your future brother? Isn’t it awkward living under the same roof?”
Kim Taehyung
📱“He hasn’t left his room. Maybe he doesn’t even want to see us,”
Park Jimin
📱Maybe he’s still affected by the breakup,”
Kim Taehyung
📱"If that’s the case, that’s his problem, not mine. It’s been a year since we broke up. Impossible he hasn’t found someone else by now,”
Park Jimin
📱“You’re too harsh, Kim Taehyung. You loved him once.”
Kim Taehyung
📱Yes, I loved him… but that’s in the past. Now, we’re about to become siblings.
After their call ended, Tae went down to the kitchen for water. He poured himself a glass, closed the fridge—and froze.
Kook was suddenly there, leaning casually against the refrigerator, his cold gaze piercing through him.
Tae set the glass down, suddenly forgetting his thirst. Heart racing, he rushed toward the exit. It had been a year since they last saw each other, but Kook looked different now—more mature, more handsome.
Kim Taehyung
💭What the hell, Tae?! Handsome? You’re supposed to avoid him!
Jeon Jungkook
“Are you happy with your decision?”
Tae stopped in his tracks. He didn’t need clarification—he knew exactly what Kook was referring to. He ignored the question and tried to walk away, but Kook’s hand gripped his arm firmly.
Kim Taehyung
“What the hell?!”
Jeon Jungkook
“I asked you a question,”
Kim Taehyung
“Is this how you treat your future brother?”
Jeon Jungkook
“Fuck that brother shit!”
Jeon Jungkook
“Do you really think I’ll accept you as my brother? No.”
Kim Taehyung
“Fine. I won’t force you. But at least respect me as a person. Whether you like it or not, I’ll be a Jeon soon!”
Rage blazed in Kook's eyes, sharp enough to kill.
Jeon Jungkook
“I’ll never let you use the name Jeon—unless you marry me first. You’re mine, Tae. You’re only mine!”
Kim Taehyung
"Are you out your mind?!
Kim Taehyung
“We’ve been over for a long time, Jungkook. Accept it!”
Jeon Jieun
“Are you two fighting?”
Both of them turned sharply toward the doorway. Tae’s blood ran cold when he saw Jieun standing there.
Kim Taehyung
“No, Noona. Jungkook hyung and I were just talking. I… I need to sleep now. Goodnight, Noona. Goodnight, Hyung,”
*rushing out of the kitchen.*
Kim Taehyung
💭God, please l hope noona not heard what we were really talking about.
