The Sharma mansion buzzed with the chaos of wedding preparations. Laughter, arguments, and the rustle of silk sarees filled the air. In two weeks, Anika Sharma was set to marry Arjun Khanna—a union that promised to be grand, elegant, and unforgettable.
For everyone, it was a time of celebration. For Aanya Sharma, the bride’s younger sister, it was war.
She stood in the middle of the living room, arms crossed, watching decorators argue about the flower arrangements.

Mrs. Khanna countered. The debate had dragged on for hours.

But Kabir, catching the words, only smirked wider. For the first time in a long while, someone had dared to challenge him—and he found himself intrigued.

The next morning, the Sharma mansion was buzzing with chaos again. Delivery trucks came and went, decorators hung fairy lights, and relatives gave unnecessary opinions on everything from food to the stage backdrop.
Aanya stood in the middle of the lawn, clipboard in hand, hair tied in a messy bun, looking very much in command.

Just then, a familiar voice cut through the noise.

Aanya froze for a second before turning slowly, already knowing who it was.
There he stood—Kabir Khanna—hands in his pockets, perfectly dressed in a crisp white shirt with the sleeves rolled up. His hair was perfectly styled, his jaw freshly shaven, and that arrogant smirk was firmly in place. He looked like he had just stepped out of a fashion magazine.
And he knew it.

A coconut tree doesn’t argue back. I do. And you clearly like the attention.(leaned in slightly, his voice low and teasing.)
For a second, her heart skipped—just a second—but she quickly masked it with sarcasm.

Keep dreaming, Mr. Khanna. The only attention I give you is the same attention I’d give a mosquito buzzing in my ear.
Kabir laughed, shaking his head.

You’re good. I’ll give you that.( smirked again, eyes locking with hers.) But let’s see how long you last. Weddings are long, princess. And I’ve got time.
Before Aanya could snap back, her cousin Rhea came running.
