The Omega’S Unexpected Alpha
The Bureau’s Last Gamble

Seoul, 2021.
Storm clouds bruised the sky, lightning tearing it open again and again. The tallest building in the city flickered with symbols that glowed faintly against the glass. Few knew of it. Fewer dared step inside.
The Bureau of Demons. Hidden in plain sight.
Inside, the air was electric with panic. Seals cracked, portals bled light, alarms screamed through the halls. Agents ran, papers flew, the building itself groaned as if reality was splitting apart.
Jungkook stood rigid in front of an older man whose voice carried authority someone who had fought wars before and carried the scars to prove it.
The man’s brow was furrowed, sweat shining against the deep lines of his face.
Superior
(urgent, steady)
“The Demon King’s aura has been detected. Ten years too early. If the timeline collapses, both humans and demons will pay the price.”
Jungkook’s fists clenched. His voice was steady, but his chest felt heavy.
Jungkook
“Where is it coming from?”
Superior
“2011. A school on the city’s edge. You’ll be sent back there. No weapons, no backup. Blend in, observe, and keep him under control.”
Jungkook opened his mouth to argue, but the ground shook violently beneath them. A portal tore itself open in the center of the room—unstable, thrashing with light.
Superior
(gritting his teeth)
“There’s no time. Go!”
The force yanked Jungkook in before he could breathe another word.
Silence. Then wind. Then blinding light.
He landed hard on grass, lungs burning. His vision spun until slowly—
He realized where he was.
The sun was warm, almost too bright. Students in crisp uniforms streamed through the gates of a high school, their laughter bubbling like water.
A banner swayed gently above the entrance:
“Welcome to the Spring Term – 2011.”
Jungkook’s breath caught. 2011… ten years back. Just like they said.
The voice rang out clear, playful, almost too familiar. Jungkook turned sharply—
And there he was.
His uniform hung carelessly on him, his smile curved with mischief, his eyes carrying a glint that was both childish and ancient. He walked straight over, stopping close enough for Jungkook to smell the faint sweetness of spring on his clothes.
Taehyung
(grinning)
“You look like you’ve seen a ghost. Were you waiting for me?”
Jungkook
(defensive, flustered)
“Don’t say weird things. People are watching.”
Taehyung
(shrugging, amused)
“Let them. What’s the fun in hiding?”
The words were light, but Jungkook’s chest tightened. Instincts he didn’t understand roared awake, his Alpha nature restless.
And Taehyung—though smiling—carried a quiet hum beneath his presence. His Omega aura, subtle yet undeniable, spread around them like invisible threads pulling Jungkook closer.
For one breath, the world around them blurred. Students walked past, bells rang, but the two of them stood frozen.
At the far edge of the schoolyard, a shadow flickered. Red eyes glimmered for the briefest second, watching. Waiting.
Taehyung leaned closer, his voice low, playful yet carrying a strange weight.
Taehyung
“Don’t take your eyes off me, Jungkookie. You never know what might happen.”
The Stranger in the Classroom
Morning sunlight poured through the classroom windows, painting stripes of gold across wooden desks. Students chatted, laughing, exchanging notebooks and snacks. The air carried the smell of chalk and spring blossoms drifting in from the courtyard.
Jungkook slipped into the room quietly, heart pounding a little too fast. His uniform fit awkwardly—too stiff, too new. He felt like an actor thrown into the middle of a play without reading the script.
The door slid open with a loud clack. Heads turned.
Kim Taehyung strolled in as if the world already belonged to him. He tossed his bag onto a desk, his tie loose, his hair a little messy but perfect in a way that made half the class whisper.
Classmate
(whispering)
“He’s always late.”
Another
(giggling)
“But he gets away with it… it’s Taehyung.”
Taehyung ignored them all, walking straight toward Jungkook’s desk. His grin was too bright, too knowing.
Taehyung
(teasing):
“Saved you a seat. Or are you planning to sit alone forever?”
Jungkook looked up, meeting his gaze. His throat tightened.
Jungkook
(quietly):
“Why are you… acting like we know each other?”
Taehyung
(smirking, leaning closer):
“Because we do. You just don’t remember yet.”
The words sent a ripple through Jungkook, though he couldn’t explain why.
The mission was clear: Observe. Protect. Do not interfere.
But how could he stay distant, when Taehyung’s every glance seemed to pull him in deeper?
Outside, hidden among the crowd of students, a faint shadow flickered.
Eyes glowed crimson for a heartbeat before disappearing again
The aura was weak, almost playful—but dangerous enough to make the hair on Jungkook’s neck rise.
Someone, or something, was watching Taehyung closely.
The teacher entered, and the room fell into uneasy silence. Lessons began. Chalk scratched against the board. Students scribbled notes.
But Jungkook couldn’t focus. Taehyung sat beside him, doodling absentmindedly, sneaking glances every few seconds as if he found Jungkook far more interesting than math equations.
Finally, Taehyung whispered without looking up:
Taehyung
(soft, almost serious)
“Jungkookie… you feel different today. Like you don’t belong here.”
Jungkook froze, pen slipping from his fingers.
Jungkook
(tense)
“What makes you say that?”
Taehyung turned his head, eyes locking with his. They were far too sharp, far too knowing for a boy his age.
Taehyung
(smiling faintly)
“Because I’ve been waiting for you.”
Before Jungkook could answer, the window cracked with a sudden shatter. A cold gust swept through the room. Students screamed, ducking under desks.
From the broken glass, a thin shadow slipped inside—unnoticed by all, except Jungkook.
And in that instant, Jungkook realized the truth:
The demons had already found them.
Personality: Confident, protective, a little broody but playful with close friends. Can be teasing or mischievous, but also serious when danger arises. Has a strong sense of loyalty.
Abilities: Alpha traits (enhanced strength, senses, instinctual behavior), capable of controlling or sensing demon energy.
Taehyung (Omega)Young Demon king
Personality: Mischievous, intelligent, playful. Likes to test others, including Jungkook. Can switch between serious demon ruler moments and humorous high school antics.
Abilities: Emerging demon powers, cunning, fast learner.
The Shadow in the Classroom
The classroom was chaos. Screams echoed, desks screeched as students scrambled for cover. Shards of glass glittered on the floor like fallen stars.
Jungkook’s body moved before his mind caught up—instinct sharp, heart pounding. He grabbed Taehyung’s wrist, pulling him behind his desk.
Jungkook
(low, urgent):
“Stay down.”
Taehyung blinked at him, not with fear—but with curiosity. His lips curved, almost amused, as if the shattering of the world around them was nothing new
The shadow pulsed against the wall, stretching into a shape vaguely human but wrong. Too thin, too jagged. Its eyes burned like coals, fixed on Taehyung.
The teacher shouted for order, but her voice drowned in the shrieks of panicked students. None of them seemed to truly see the creature.
Only Jungkook.
And Taehyung.
Taehyung
(softly, staring):
“They found me…”
Jungkook’s chest tightened.
Jungkook
(snapping):
“You can see it?”
Taehyung’s answer was a small, knowing smile.
The shadow lunged. Jungkook shoved Taehyung aside and intercepted, his body colliding with the creature’s weightless mass. They crashed into a desk, splintering wood.
His fists struck, but the shadow rippled, reforming like smoke. It lashed back, claws raking the wall inches from his face.
Jungkook
(gritting teeth):
“Tch—damn it.”
His Alpha strength awakened, aura sparking faintly around him. Students only saw desks breaking and lights flickering—they couldn’t see the demon itself.
But Taehyung saw everything. His eyes widened, not in terror—
But fascination.
As the demon hissed and struck again, Taehyung stood.
The air changed.
Warm. Sweet. Overpowering.
Jungkook faltered as the Omega’s natural aura poured out of Taehyung unconsciously, wrapping the room in invisible threads. Even the demon staggered, its form flickering.
Taehyung
(calmly, almost playfully):
“You shouldn’t touch what belongs to me.”
The words weren’t loud. But the effect was shattering.
The demon shrieked, recoiling violently as if burned. Its shadowy body twisted, then dissolved into black mist—vanishing as quickly as it had come.
Silence fell.
The students blinked in confusion—murmuring about the “broken window,” assuming it was just an accident. The teacher tried to calm them, ushering them out of the room.
But Jungkook stayed frozen, staring at Taehyung.
Jungkook
(hoarse, shaken):
“…What are you?”
Taehyung tilted his head, stepping closer until his shadow overlapped Jungkook’s. His smile was soft, but his eyes—deep and unreadable.
Taehyung
(whispering):
“The one you came back for.”
Jungkook’s breath caught. His chest burned, his instincts screaming at him to move, to act, to protect.
But he couldn’t move at all.
Because Taehyung’s words weren’t a guess.
They were the truth.
