CH 0 : PROLOGUE
It was the only constant Erythos had known for longer than he could count. A silence so heavy it pressed against his very soul. A silence broken only by his own thoughts, looping endlessly, threatening to tear him apart.
He had been many things before the Cube: wanderer of dimensions, breaker of worlds, the second anomaly born of the VOID. Yet here, none of that mattered. The Cube had stripped him bare, binding him within its cold geometry, locking him in a prison that defied time itself.
Three hundred and twenty-one million years. That was how long he had endured within this place.
The Cube was merciless. Sometimes it opened its jagged doors to other realms, casting him into living hells of war and despair. He had fought gods, monsters, and civilizations that no longer exist. He had bled and triumphed and died a thousand deaths, only to return to this prison again.
Other times, the Cube gave him nothing. Only emptiness. Solitude so complete that even madness had given up on him.
He had created worlds within it—his own realms forged from scraps of his willpower, kingdoms ruled for millennia—only to watch them collapse when the Cube decided to consume them. He had screamed, he had begged, and finally, he had grown silent.
But silence never meant surrender.

...How long must I remain here?” His voice broke the void, weak but defiant. “I want to return. I want to go back.”
The Cube answered, not with words, but with a pulse. A vibration deep in its core, like the heartbeat of something vast and ancient. For the first time in an eternity, it trembled. A fissure of light split through the darkness. Raw, violent energy burst out, shredding the silence into fragments. Erythos raised his hand. He could feel it—something beyond the Cube, something pulling him. The prison that had swallowed half his existence was… breaking.

And as the brilliance consumed him, as the Cube cracked open and the void’s error was hurled into an unknown world, he smiled for the first time in millions of years. Freedom. Or something far worse.
