Valvet Bonds

Chapter One – Velet saviour

The rain was merciless. It slicked down the alleys of Seoul, turning neon lights into bleeding colors on the pavement. Jungkook ran. His lungs burned, his legs screamed, but the sound of boots behind him wouldn’t stop. They had been hunting him all day, and now, with the city asleep, there was nowhere left to run. The debt wasn’t even his. A family name he had never asked for, a trap he couldn’t escape. The men chasing him didn’t care. To them, he was just an Omega alone in the dark. Easy prey. He stumbled into a dead-end. A wall of steel and concrete loomed high, unscalable. His chest tightened. He turned slowly as shadows closed in on him, knives glinting under streetlights.

The laughter of the men drew closer, bouncing off the walls. “End of the line, little Omega.” “You should’ve run farther.”
Jungkook’s hands shook as he pressed against the gate. He had nowhere else to go. Nowhere to hide. The men raised their knives—
And then gunfire split the night. Screams tore through the alley as one of the thugs collapsed, blood blooming across the wet pavement. The others froze, eyes wide. From the opposite end of the alley, shadows parted to reveal a line of men in dark suits. They moved with precision, silent and merciless. At their head walked Kim Taehyung. An umbrella tilted casually over his shoulder, a pistol gleaming in his other hand. His expression was carved from stone, cold and unreadable.
“Wrong alley,” one of the surviving thugs whispered, pale with terror. The Mafia.
In seconds, the fight was over. Taehyung’s men cut down Jungkook’s pursuers with ruthless efficiency, leaving bodies slumped in the rain. The alley smelled of iron and smoke. Jungkook pressed himself against the wall, trembling, unable to look away from the Alpha who commanded it all without breaking stride. Taehyung finally stopped, eyes flicking over Jungkook as if he were nothing more than an afterthought.

“An Omega,” he said lowly, voice like velvet over steel. “Caught in someone else’s mess.”
He turned, giving an almost bored gesture for his men to leave. For him, this night was business. Routine. But Jungkook’s breath caught. This wasn’t routine for him. This was the end of the line—and somehow, fate had dragged the most dangerous man in the city into his path.

Jungkook blurted, voice raw, desperate. His knuckles dug into the gate behind him.

“I… I don’t have anywhere to go.”
Taehyung paused mid-step. Slowly, he turned his head back toward him. The faintest flicker of amusement curled his lips.

“Not my problem,” he said smoothly.
But Jungkook shook his head, heart hammering, refusing to let the chance slip.

“Then make it your problem.”
And in the quiet of the rain, Kim Taehyung laughed—a dark, dangerous sound that would change Jungkook’s life forever.

Chapter Two – The Refusal

The alley smelled of gunpowder and rain. Kim Taehyung holstered his pistol with the same elegance most men used to fasten a cufflink. His men were already clearing the scene, dragging bodies into waiting vans as though they were nothing more than trash on the sidewalk.
For them, tonight was just business. For Jungkook, it was survival.
He stood shaking, rain soaking his clothes, the adrenaline still roaring in his veins. His eyes locked on the man walking away from him — the Alpha whose very presence made the air heavy.

Jungkook rasped, his throat raw.
Taehyung stopped but didn’t turn fully. The umbrella angled over his shoulder, shadows hiding his face except for the sharp gleam of his eyes.

“You’re still here.”
Jungkook swallowed, his voice low but firm.

“I told you. I don’t have anywhere to go.”
Taehyung studied him for a long moment, then exhaled softly through his nose, almost amused.

“That isn’t my problem.”
He turned again, long strides carrying him toward the sleek black car idling at the mouth of the alley.
Something in Jungkook snapped. If he let this man leave, then the night would swallow him whole. He had no home, no money, no one to run to. But standing before him was power incarnate, an Alpha who had carved out an empire from fear and blood.
If fate wanted him to meet Kim Taehyung, then Jungkook would not let go.
He pushed himself off the wall, stumbling forward.

“Then make it your problem.”
Taehyung stopped mid-step. This time, he turned fully. The sight of him up close was almost suffocating — tall, immaculate, dominance radiating off him in waves that made Jungkook’s Omega instincts scream to submit. But Jungkook held his ground, fists clenched, eyes blazing.

“You’re bold,” Taehyung murmured, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “Or very, very stupid.”

“Maybe both,”
Jungkook shot back. His voice wavered, but the words didn’t.
One of Taehyung’s men scoffed from behind him

“Boss, leave him. Omegas like him break in a week. He won’t last.”
Jungkook’s jaw tightened. He stepped forward, rain dripping down his face, defiance burning in his eyes.

“Then let me prove you wrong. Let me work for you. Anything. I’ll do whatever it takes.”
Taehyung tilted his head, silent for a long moment. His gaze swept over Jungkook as though weighing every word, every ounce of desperation.
Finally, he chuckled low, dark, and dangerous.

“You think you can survive in my world? An Omega, soft and untrained?”

“I’ll learn,” Jungkook said quickly. “I’ll train. I won’t break.”
The Alpha stepped closer, close enough for his scent to brush against Jungkook’s senses — smoke and cedarwood, sharp and commanding. It nearly buckled Jungkook’s knees, but he refused to look away.

“Careful,” Taehyung murmured, voice like velvet over steel. “When you beg the devil for a place at his table, you’d better be ready to eat in hell.”
Jungkook’s pulse thundered, but his answer was steady.

“Then teach me.”
For the first time that night, Kim Taehyung smiled — not kindly, not warmly, but like a predator amused by prey that dared to bare its teeth.

“Fine,” he said softly. “You’ll stay. But you’ll regret it.”
And with that, Jungkook’s fate was sealed.

Chapter Three — The Weight of a Crown

The alley felt colder once Taehyung turned his back. Jungkook followed him, hesitant but unwilling to be left behind. The air around the man was suffocating, as though the shadows themselves bent to make room for him.
Two sleek black cars waited at the mouth of the alley. Suited guards straightened the moment they saw him, bowing low without a word. Their gazes darted toward Jungkook, confusion and suspicion flashing in their eyes, but Taehyung didn’t give them the chance to speak.

“Open the door.” His tone was enough.
Jungkook slid into the back seat after him, the leather cool under his palms. The door shut with a final click, muffling the outside world.
The car moved silently through Seoul’s streets, neon lights bending against the rain-streaked windows. Jungkook sat stiffly, sneaking glances at the man beside him. Taehyung’s profile was sharp against the dim light — calm, composed, untouchable. He looked less like a man and more like a crown carved from stone.

“Where are we going?” Jungkook finally asked, his voice quiet, uncertain.

Taehyung didn’t look at him. “If you want to live, don’t ask questions.”
The words fell like cold steel between them. Jungkook lowered his eyes, but inside, something stubborn refused to give way. ---
Kim Taehyung had not chosen this life. This life had chosen him.
He was born into the Kim Syndicate — Seoul’s most feared Mafia dynasty. His father was a ruthless lord, his mother a strategist whose whispers could bring men to their knees. From childhood, Taehyung learned that trust was fatal, affection a weakness, and survival the only law that mattered.
At seventeen, everything shattered. Betrayal ripped through the syndicate, old allies turning traitors. The Kim mansion became a battlefield. Taehyung could still hear gunfire ringing in the marble halls, smell the blood that stained velvet curtains. His mother’s desperate cries. His father’s hand gripping his shoulder one last time.
“Survive. Whatever it takes.”
Those were the only words left to him.
By eighteen, Taehyung was no longer a boy — he was a killer. By twenty, he had gathered the loyal remnants of his father’s empire and crushed the traitors who had fled. By twenty-five, rivals spoke his name in fear: Lord Taehyung.
Now twenty-seven, Kim Taehyung ruled an empire built from ashes. His syndicate stretched across Seoul — smuggling, weapons, the black markets that oiled the city’s shadows. Politicians owed him favors. Rivals bent to his will. The world saw him as a man who could not be touched.
But beneath it all, the wound never closed. The ones truly responsible for his family’s fall were still out there, somewhere in the dark. His empire was not peace. It was a weapon — sharpened for vengeance. ---
The car slowed, pulling Jungkook from his thoughts. His eyes widened as he peered through the rain-blurred window.
The mansion rose before them, its iron gates stretching like the jaws of a beast. Guards stood on either side, weapons gleaming under the floodlights. Beyond the gates sprawled a fortress of black stone and glass, its walls high, its windows burning gold from chandeliers within.
Jungkook’s throat tightened. It wasn’t a house. It was a kingdom built on fear.
Jeon jungkook

“This is… your home?” he asked, voice barely steady.

Taehyung finally turned his head, eyes catching his in the dim light. “No.” His lips curved faintly, cold and precise. “This is my throne.”
The gates creaked open, the cars rolling forward across the gravel drive. Behind them, the gates slammed shut with a metallic finality that echoed through Jungkook’s bones.
Taehyung’s gaze lingered on him as the car pulled closer to the towering mansion. His words came low, smooth, and absolute.

“Remember this moment, Jungkook. From the instant you stepped into my car, your life stopped belonging to you. From now on, it belongs to me.”

Jungkook’s breath hitched, fear curling in his chest, but determination steadied his voice. “Then I’ll make it worth something.”
For a fleeting second, something flickered in Taehyung’s eyes — amusement, perhaps, or curiosity. But it vanished as quickly as it came.

“Follow me,” he ordered as the car came to a stop.
The doors opened, the rain still falling. Jungkook stepped out, heart pounding, staring up at the mansion that now marked the end of his old life. The beginning of something far more dangerous.
The crown of Seoul’s underworld had just claimed him.
