Birth..... The most beautiful aspect if a women's life...she smiles through the pain thinking of the life that is coming out of her even when the pain is unbearable...even when the people would judge her for the gender if the child that is coming into this world.......

Okay!!!fine let us put aside all these traumatizing things and begin the story shall we.... this story is the life of the little one that is now going to come into this world. The of a girl in a middle class family.

\*Story begins\*

In a small town near the waters of maa godavari is a beautiful house full of greenery and warmth sitting a woman holding her belly and talking to her grandma....

women:"grandmaa....they are saying it is nearly time for my delivery...but you know.... I don't feel anything. This little one has made me sick every day during my pregnancy but.⁰.it is too quite now....do you think something us wrong with the baby..."

grandma:"aree...what nonsense are you spouting you little fool nothing will go wrong with the baby you just stay calm everything will be fine *upset*" women:"okay...okay cool I will do as you say". Just then came a boy in his 4-year running towards the women boy:" maa....when will my sister come" women:"relax mohan....you came running to me just to ask this?"mohan:" yes...that chinna is teasing me saying that he already has a younger brother and I don't * *"

Women:"just a few more days and you can play with your sister...but you should take care of her really well...okay?"

mohan:" okay maa" left running again.

A small smiles crept onto her face looking g at the boy running away to play...

grandma"valli...how do you that the child is a girl?"

valli: " i don't know grandma...I just feel that this child might be a girl no...bot might not will be a girl..."

Grandma: "boy or girl...I just want you and the baby to be healthy and happy...then I will be at ease*smiles*

Just then she felt a small tight at her belly which grew into severe pain in just a few minutes even before she realized what was happening her water broke, and she realized that she is going into labor...her grandma scared that her grandma daughter might starve herself during the delivery fed her curd rice before the arrival of the ambulance...but little did she know that her concern for her granddaughter will lead to greater issues than just a simple hunger during the llabor

Valli: "mohan…where is my boy….*looking g for him when everyone is worried about her*."take care of him until I am back he is just a small child"

Grandma: " are baba...you go to hospital nothing will happen to your son we will take care of him Hee is not anywhere else but in his grandmother's home only...we know how to take care of our grandson...now you go and come back with my greatgranddaughter *scolds*"

Valli:"okay okay...but take care* in pain*"

A girl child...for some it is a taboo for some it maa Lakshmi coming to their house... Irrespective of their opinion everyone wants the girl to do chores in their house while the male are privileged to do whatever they like whether they earn for the household or not…

*In the hospital*

Valli is taken to hospital during the journey she was thinking whether the child is safe or not. All she could think was the safety of the child in her belly. *enter the hospital * doctor....relatives are calling the doctor

*doctor came and checked on her*I did not expect the delivery to be happening so I thought it will take at least a week of time before the delivery.*give instructions to the nurse to take the patient into the ward for delivery*

Don't worry I will make sure that the both the mother and child are safe.

Relatives: okay doctor

* valli's husband comes to the hospital in a rush along with his family*

valli's husband: Aunty how is she*worried*

valli's mom: don't worry Satyanarayana she is fine the doctor just went in for the delivery

Satyanarayana:ok aunty....

Everyone is waiting eagerly for any news from the doctor...

Satyanarayana: it's been 3 hours since the waters broke why is there still no news...

Valli's dad: don't worry! eEverythingwill be alright

The Maternity Ward is in a complete chaos.her screens are echoing all over the hospital.

*the doctor comes out*

doctor: did she eat anything before coming here?

valli's mom:yes doctor my aunt fed her some curd rice before coming here...

Doctor:what!!

satyanarayana: what happened is there anything wrong with my wife or the child.

Doctor:nothing serious...but we cannot do free delivery in this case and to perform operation we have to until the food is digested.

Satyanaraya:exactly how much time do you think we have for the food?

Doctor: i am not sure...but before that we need you sign thIs consent form...

satyanarayana: okay...*signs the form*

*Doctor went back into the ward*

Doctor:* to the nurse* move her to the operation theater. we need to perform surgery...

The nurses are moving Valli to the operation theater When They brought her out from the Maternity ward every relative and her husband ran towards her to see her condition.she is barely conscious trying to bear the pain but she couldn't control it anymore and fainted.

the Doctor seeing the situation took the decision to pump out the food in her belly and then perform the operation.

*doctor went into the operation theater*

after what felt like an eternity the doctor came out there in the good news that valli has given birth to a baby girl. the family is overjoyed with happiness thatThee god ha blessed the family with Lakshmi.

satyanarayana: can I go see my wife Doctor..

doctor:not now she is currently unconscious let her rest for a while we will inform you once she wakes up.

satyanarayana: thank you doctor*smiles*

doctor:*nods and leaves*

Satyanarayana walked towards the baby ward to look at his baby but unfortunately elders or adults are not allowed into the word to make sure the children are safe from getting infected through germs so all he could do was wait until the baby is brought out.*cries due to overwhelmed emotions*

*In the meanwhile* in the ward valli has slowly regained her consciousness and is asking for her child. Satyanarayana came into the ward rushing to look at his wife and her condition.asked Satyanarayana able her child and Satyanarayana told her that the baby is in the baby ward being taken care of.*small smile crept on to both of their faces looking at each other with lots of love in their eyes*

Satyanaraya: thank you...for giving me such a wonderful gift. I will cherish our daughter for my whole life

valli: I feel the same dear.

* the nurse has brought the baby in so that she can be fed her first milk.*

Satyanarayana left the room giving some privacy for them.*remembered something and went looking for his father-in-law*

Satyanarayana:aunty where is uncle...

valli's mom: sorry beta...your uncles had a stomach upset and has to go home to take rest.

satyanarayana:okay aunty thank you..

The hospital ward is full of buzz with people coming and going the baby is in the cradle beside valli who is still sleeping because of the medication and her mother is right beside her taking care of her granddaughter and her daughter. The happiness on her face is evident as she looks at her granddaughter lovingly. Just then satyanarayana entered the room and walked towards valli's bed.

The man was wearing a casual attire, anyone can tell that he just came back from his home after a good bath. He was holding a basket containing something making everyone wonder what he would have brought to a maternity ward. Satyanarayan was looking at the baby in the cradle from a far not daring to approach as he is seeing his baby just then after he saw her in the children's ward where he was not allowed to enter. Valli's mom looked at him standing a little far gazing at the child and hastily got up from her chair and asked him to sit.

Valli's Mom: When did you come son-in-law?

Satyanararyana: I just came from home after freshing up aunty. I brought food for you and valli.

Valli's Mom: Thank you son.

Satyanarayana: Its okay aunty. Is she awake? Asked satyanaryana looking at valli

Valli's Mom: No son…she has been sleeping like this ever since the surgery. The doctor says it is normal and that the stiches will heal better if she sleeps more and this is just due to the medication.

Satyanarayana: okay aunty… feed her after she wakes up she will be hungry.

Valli's Mom: Okay son… you can go and take care of any work you have I will stay with her.

Satyanarayana: Okay aunty…left after looking atwhat do you think that styanrayana has in kind that he seriously and urgently wants to meet his father in law his daughter one last time

But then again he remembered that he forgot to talk to his father-in-law being in the stress of the delivery and that his father-in-law was not present in the hospital during the surgery.He came out of the hospital and went towards his in- laws house.

In the hall the old man is sitting in a sleeping chair and watching the old black and white tv. He was in cloud nin thinking that he saved a good amount of money by not admitting his daughter in a private hospital like his son-in-law asked. He thought his son-in-law will leave this matter as the delivery happened without any hitches and that his daughter is still in the hospital, he thought his son-in-law will be in the hospital takking care of his daughter and wife completely pre occupied forgetting about this thing completely.
