“Darling, you need to get married. I want to see the faces of my grandchildren,” an Alpha woman’s voice cut through the silence, striking at the young man who stood by the window.

“Don’t start again, Mom. How many times do I have to tell you? I don’t like Omegas, so don’t bother.”

The Alpha, dressed in a sharp black suit, stood tall and imposing. His broad frame radiated authority, while his eyes glimmered with nothing but disdain whenever the word “Omega” was mentioned.

“I knew you’d say that. That’s why I’ve already found a suitable Omega for you. He’s my friend’s son… though he’s a little foolish, so take care of him.”

Even after hearing his mother’s words, Zephyr remained silent, his gaze fixed outside the window. His mother knew he wouldn’t respond, so she quietly left the room.

Alone, Zephyr stood there, his cold eyes lingering on the distant moon.

“All Omegas are the same. They just want to sleep with me because of my bloodline and money,” Zephyr muttered under his breath, anger burning in his voice. His fist slammed into the wall, leaving a sharp crack behind.

Without another word, he stormed out of the house and slid into the waiting car. The moment he sat down, his assistant—who also served as his driver—started the engine.

After a silent ride, the car rolled to a stop in front of one of the most famous Crimson Realm Clubs, a chain with countless branches known for its decadence.

Zephyr stepped out as his assistant opened the door for him. Without sparing anyone a glance, he strode straight inside.

The club air was thick with pheromones, saturating every breath. On stage, Omegas dressed in seductive lingerie twisted around poles, their bodies moving to the heavy rhythm. Around them, Alphas went wild, showering bills without hesitation, drunk on lust and power.

But even with all the chaos around him, Zephyr didn’t spare it a glance. He moved past the crowd and stepped into a private room, where a man in a tailored suit lounged on a sofa, a glass of liquor in one hand and his phone in the other.

The moment Zephyr entered, the Alpha lifted his head, instantly recognizing him.

“Oh, my friend Zephyr, you’re here! Come, have a seat.”

Zephyr sank onto the sofa. A pair of workers quickly brought over drinks, sneaking curious glances at the two powerful men before quietly slipping out.

Grabbing the glass, Zephyr downed it in a single gulp. His frustration burned hotter with every swallow.

“Dude, chill! Why are you drinking like that? Did something happen? You know you can tell me anything—I’m your best and only friend,” Lian said, leaning forward with concern.

“Mom has arranged my marriage,” Zephyr said flatly.

Lian’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Wow, for real? Who’s the Omega? Have you met him yet?” he asked, curiosity lighting his smile.

Zephyr didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he drained his glass and slammed it onto the table with such force it nearly shattered.

“I haven’t met him. And I don’t want to. The moment I see that Omega tomorrow, I’ll kill him.”

Lian understood then—Zephyr was supposed to meet the Omega the next day, and his anger was already boiling over. He hated Omegas, and there was a reason buried deep in his past that still stopped him from ever accepting one.

With a quiet sigh, Lian patted Zephyr’s shoulder, then turned his attention back to his phone.

They drank together for a while, but soon Zephyr remembered he had work to handle and left the club.

The next day, a small figure sat quietly at the hotel table. He was an Omega, his soft blond hair catching the sunlight, pale skin glowing like porcelain, and golden eyes that shimmered with an almost ethereal light. His delicate features made him look fragile, yet captivating.

He was no ordinary Omega. He was an Elite Omega—a rarity in their world. Out of a hundred Omegas, barely one manifested as Elite. Their pheromones were unique, naturally soothing, able to calm even the most dominant Alpha instincts.

The Omega sitting there was named Rayne. His driver had dropped him off at the hotel, the place chosen for his meeting with Zephyr.

Rayne’s golden eyes wandered around the hotel as he clutched a small red bunny plush to his chest, hugging it tightly as though it could shield him from the unknown.

Just then, the air shifted. Zephyr entered, his towering presence filling the space. He stopped in front of Rayne, his sharp gaze fixed on the smaller figure with an intensity that felt more like a glare than a greeting.

Sensing the weight of that stare, Rayne lifted his head. And despite the hostility in Zephyr’s eyes, he smiled softly at him.

Zephyr pulled out a chair and sat down. Without hesitation, he drew a gun from his pocket and set it on the table with a sharp clink.

This was his hotel. Here, he could do whatever he pleased—without fear.

Rayne’s eyes landed on the weapon, and instead of fear, soft giggles escaped his lips. Hugging his plushie tightly, he stretched out a small hand as if to grab the gun. But before he could touch it, Zephyr’s hand pressed firmly over the weapon.

“You’re my Alpha?” Rayne asked, his voice innocent, almost childlike.

“I am not your Alpha, you fool,” Zephyr snapped, anger seething in his tone.

But then, something unexpected happened. Rayne’s pheromones slipped into the air, gentle and soothing, wrapping around Zephyr like a calming tide. The fury in his chest eased before he could even resist.

Zephyr stiffened, startled. He hadn’t understood it at first, but when he realized it was Rayne’s pheromones tempering his rage, shock flickered in his eyes. This… this was the power of an Elite Omega.

Yet looking at Rayne, clutching his plushie and giggling as he glanced around the room, Zephyr couldn’t ignore the truth—despite his rare gift, Rayne behaved like an innocent fool. Perhaps that was why his mother had called Rayne “an idiot.”

CHAPTER 2

"So, when are we going to get married? Because Mother said I need to bear your kids," Rayne said innocently, glancing down at his tummy.

But this only fueled Zephyr’s anger. He shot up in rage and grabbed Rayne’s throat, choking him as if he meant to kill.

Yet as his grip tightened, he noticed the tears welling in Rayne’s eyes. The sight made him pause, and finally, he released him.

"Why are you bullying me?" Rayne pouted, tears streaming down his cheeks. The sight made him look irresistibly cute.

Any alpha could fall for him like this. Zephyr stared at him without blinking. He hated omegas—Rayne knew that—and just moments ago, his fury had burned hot. But now, the rage was gone, leaving behind only calmness.

And for the first time, guilt crept into him—for strangling Rayne.

“Fuck… what’s happening to me? All of this because of this omega’s pheromones,” Zephyr mumbled under his breath.

When he glanced ahead, he saw Rayne wiping his tears with his palm, just like a baby.

As Zephyr glared at Rayne, his phone suddenly rang—it was an important call.

“Consider yourself lucky I didn’t kill you,” Zephyr said coldly before walking away.

Rayne stayed frozen, watching him leave. Only when Zephyr finally disappeared did he quickly stand up and rush out of the room.

Outside the hotel, a white car was already waiting. He glanced around nervously, opened the door, and slipped inside. The car started moving at once.

After a short drive, it stopped in front of a café. Rayne hurried out, almost tripping in his haste, and dashed inside.

At one of the tables sat an omega with jet-black hair and porcelain-white skin. He was calmly eating pastries as if the world outside didn’t matter.

Rayne walked over and sat across from him.

“Ken, I met that alpha today,” he blurted out.

Ken looked up briefly but didn’t stop chewing. “So?”

“He’s completely psycho! Even when I pretended to act clueless, he strangled me. He even had a gun with him. I think he really is part of the mafia, just like we heard.”

Rayne ranted breathlessly, then reached over and snatched one of Ken’s pastries, shoving it into his mouth as if to calm himself.

“So what now? Are you going to marry him or not?” Ken asked between bites.

“Of course not! I don’t want to die on my wedding night—that’s exactly why I’m not marrying him,” Rayne snapped.

The truth was, when Rayne’s mother first told him about the marriage, he had secretly done a background check. That was when he discovered that Zephyr was no ordinary alpha—he was rumored to be part of an organ-dealing mafia.

Just reading about it had left Rayne trembling in fear. That was why he begged his mother to tell her friend that he was a fool, hoping she would drop the idea of sending her son to meet Zephyr.

But despite all his efforts, Zephyr still came. And so Rayne had no choice but to act like he was mentally unstable—an idiot—just to make Zephyr refuse the marriage himself.

Ken put down his spoon, crossed his arms over his chest, and fixed his eyes on Rayne.

“Listen, bitch,” he said flatly. “You don’t need to be afraid of anything. Just message your mom that you don’t want to marry that monster. She’ll understand. And don’t forget—you’re good at talking trash about alphas, so use that.”

Rayne raised an eyebrow at him but pulled out his phone anyway. With a quick sigh, he typed a message to his mother:

[Rayne: Mom, I met that alpha today just like you wanted, but I can’t marry him. He’s trash. He even tried to kill me, and he already has two omegas he loves and adores. He told me he’d only marry me in name. So I hope you can understand.]

“Okay, I’ve sent it,” Rayne said, setting his phone on the table. He pretended to look nervous, but in truth, he wasn’t.

After finishing the pastries, the two of them left the café. Since it was still their vacation before university started, Rayne and Ken had already planned a trip with their friends—and, of course, with Rayne’s boyfriend.

Yes, Rayne already had a boyfriend. He had even told his family about him, but they never accepted the relationship. His father only owned a small company, and compared to Rayne’s wealthy background, his boyfriend seemed poor.

But none of that mattered to Rayne. He kept dating the alpha anyway. He was still with him now… though the alpha hadn’t contacted Rayne for the past week.

As soon as they both left the café, someone suddenly pulled Rayne into a hug.

When Rayne glanced up, he saw an alpha with brown hair and striking black eyes. He was handsome—and he was hugging him tightly.

“Losif, you’re here!” Rayne’s face lit up with happiness at the sight of his boyfriend.

“Hey, lovebirds! Don’t hug each other in the middle of the street. Go get a room,” Ken muttered, clearly annoyed by their public affection—especially since he was still single.

“Don’t be jealous of us,” Rayne said, still refusing to break the hug. When he finally did pull away, he noticed Losif leaning closer.

Losif was sniffing him.

“Why is there an alpha’s pheromone on you, honey?” Losif asked.

Rayne flinched. He had promised Losif he wouldn’t meet Zephyr again—but he had still gone, only to cancel the marriage. Losif had been furious when he first found out that Rayne’s family had rejected him and already chosen another alpha for him.

“I asked you a question, didn’t I, Rayne? Answer me—why is there an alpha’s pheromone on you? Who did you meet?”

Losif’s voice was cold, sharp, and loud enough for every passerby to hear. The stares made Rayne’s cheeks burn with embarrassment, and even Ken shifted uncomfortably as they exchanged glances.

“Hey, Losif, I know you’re angry, but at least lower your voice. This isn’t your home where you can shout as much as you want—we’re in the middle of the street,” Rayne said. His voice was low, but carried a surprising strength.

CHAPTER 3

“Wait—so instead of saying you didn’t meet another alpha, you’re reminding me that we’re on the street? Rayne, you really are the worst. I’ve had enough. I don’t want to keep dating you anymore—that’s why I’m breaking up with you,” Losif said, before turning away.

As he left, Rayne stood frozen in place. He couldn’t believe his boyfriend had just broken up with him.

“Ken… am I dreaming right now?” Rayne asked, his voice trembling. His knees weakened, and he nearly collapsed, but Ken caught him and held him close, trying to comfort him.

It was Rayne’s first breakup. He and Losif had been together since middle school—Losif was his first love. And no one ever forgets their first love that easily. Because first love never comes true. We either fall for the wrong person at the right time, or the right person at the wrong time. Yet still, first love always lingers… a memory that drowns us every time we recall it.

“Don’t worry, Rayne. That bastard wasn’t worthy of your love. We’ll still go on our trip to another country,” Ken said firmly.

At the mention of the trip, Rayne quickly wiped his tears, and the two of them walked away together.

A few days later…

Both Ken and Rayne were ready to leave, but this time they hadn’t invited any of their other friends. Because of the breakup, they wanted to take this trip alone. The main reason was that Rayne didn’t want anyone to know he had broken up with Losif.

Luckily, Rayne’s family had already given him permission to go on the trip, so nothing stood in their way.

They boarded their flight, and after several hours, it finally landed on Heaven Island—a place famous among tourists.

It was said that the sea surrounding the island was crystal clear and breathtakingly blue.

Once they arrived at their hotel, they headed straight to their rooms. Each of them had booked a single room, not wanting to share.

As Rayne opened the door to his room and stepped inside, his eyes widened in awe. The room was spacious and stunning, with a swimming pool that connected to the neighboring suites—meaning others could enter from their side as well.

“Wow… everything is so beautiful here. It would have been heaven if I had come with my boyfriend,” he muttered to himself.

Without another thought, Rayne pulled off his shirt, tossed it carelessly to the floor, and dove straight into the pool.

The splash echoed loudly as he sank deep into the water. Moments later, he swam gracefully upward like a fish, breaking the surface to take a breath.

Rayne ran his small hands through his hair, pushing the damp strands back behind his ears before diving once more into the pool. He stayed beneath the water for several minutes, enjoying the cool silence that surrounded him.

Just as he was about to resurface, his eyes widened in shock. A sudden cramp seized his leg, tightening painfully. Panic shot through him as he realized he couldn’t kick upward—he was trapped beneath the water, unable to swim back to the surface.

He tried to push himself upward, but the sharp pain from the cramp was unbearable. Instead of swimming, his hands instinctively clutched at his leg.

'Am I really going to die now? But… I haven’t even experienced love yet—how can I die like this?'

Rayne’s thoughts grew frantic as his chest tightened. His breaths grew heavier, his vision dimming into darkness.

Then, suddenly—splash! Someone else dove into the pool. Rayne barely registered the sound, convinced he was hallucinating, until a strong hand seized his own.

The grip was firm, steady, pulling him closer. In the next moment, he was being dragged upward, cutting through the water.

That person lifted him out of the pool, carrying him back to air and safety.

Rayne coughed harshly, his chest burning as he struggled to catch his breath. With a few rapid blinks, his vision cleared. He wiped the water from his face with his trembling hands.

When he finally looked ahead, he froze. Sitting in front of him was an alpha with striking green hair, his eyes the very same vivid shade.

The man reached out, placing a steady hand on Rayne’s shoulder. “Are you okay? You’re not hurt anywhere, right?” he asked gently.

“My leg… it cramped,” Rayne muttered weakly.

Without hesitation, the alpha grasped Rayne’s leg and began massaging it firmly, his touch surprisingly careful. Within minutes, the tension eased, and Rayne’s body began to feel normal again.

Rayne pushed himself to his feet and gave the man a small bow.

“Thank you so much for helping me. If you hadn’t been here, I would have died today. I don’t even know how to thank you enough,” he said sincerely, his voice still shaky.

Of course, he was overjoyed—his life had been saved. If not for this stranger, he might not have made it out of the water alive.

“If you really want to thank me, then marry me,” the alpha said boldly. “It’s my first time meeting an Elite Omega, and I don’t want to lose this opportunity.”

Rayne’s smile instantly faded. His lips parted in disbelief at the sudden proposal.

“We just met today. I’m grateful you saved me, but marriage is completely out of the question,” he replied firmly.

'He’s not even that handsome,' Rayne thought with a frown. If I compare… 'Zephyr is far more good-looking than this alpha.'

“Did you just reject me?” the alpha asked.

His expression shifted from gentle to cold, his eyes narrowing as he glared at Rayne like a predator eyeing its prey.

Rayne turned away without answering. He walked back to his room and firmly closed the door behind him.

What a strange alpha… he thought, shaking his head as he stepped into the bathroom to change.

He slipped into a pair of black shorts and a loose, ocean-blue T-shirt. Standing in front of the mirror, he couldn’t help but notice how striking he looked—sexy and effortlessly beautiful. He applied moisturizer along his bare, toned legs, making them glisten softly under the light.
