Beyond the Walls of Fate (Attack On Titan X Oc)
00 Introduction - Prologue
Name: Anastasia Smith
Affiliation: Survey Corps
Rank: Lieutenant
Age: 27
Appearance:
• Long wavy blonde hair, often tied back in a loose braid during missions.
• Striking ocean-blue eyes, similar to Erwin’s but brighter and more expressive.
• Athletic build, though slightly smaller and more agile compared to her brother.
Personality:
• Stubborn & Reckless: Unlike Erwin’s calm and composed leadership, Anastasia is hot-headed and will often throw herself into danger if it means saving others.
• Sharp Intellect: Despite her impulsive nature, she’s an exceptional strategist—able to think outside the box and quickly adapt mid-battle. Erwin tends to make calculated, long-term plans, while Anastasia excels in spontaneous battlefield tactics.
• Protective Streak: She has a strong emotional drive—while Erwin sacrifices emotions for logic, Anastasia can’t help but get attached to her comrades.
Background:
• Grew up in the same household as Erwin, sharing his thirst for knowledge and curiosity about the truth of the world.
• While Erwin pursued leadership, Anastasia initially resisted joining the military, wanting to live freely. But after hearing his speeches and seeing the corruption of the Military Police, she chose the Survey Corps.
Relationships:
• Erwin Smith: Constant sibling rivalry. Erwin scolds her recklessness, while Anastasia teases him for being too cold. Deep down, they have unshakable trust.
• Levi Ackerman: Their personalities clash—her recklessness annoys him, but he respects her intelligence.
• Hange Zoë: Hange and Anastasia are chaotic partners-in-crime, often brainstorming wild ideas together.
Combat Style:
• Exceptional with ODM gear—she relies on speed and unpredictability.
• Dual-wields blades with acrobatic precision, making her combat style more fluid and less disciplined than Levi’s.
• Strategically uses terrain and distraction tactics—where Erwin would plan a large-scale charge, Anastasia improvises smaller, surgical strikes.
The night before an expedition was always the same.
The barracks were quiet, filled with the hushed sound of soldiers trying to sleep while knowing they might never wake again.
Anastasia Smith sat by the window, her long wavy hair spilling over her shoulders, her blue eyes fixed on the moonlight that spilled across the stone floor. The world outside the walls was waiting — cruel, vast, and merciless. And tomorrow, she would face it again.
A soft knock came at the door. She didn’t need to turn to know who it was.
“You’re awake,” Erwin’s voice came, steady as always.
“I could say the same about you,” Anastasia replied, a faint smirk tugging at her lips.
Her older brother stepped into the room, his uniform coat draped over his arm, his posture composed even in these rare private moments. He looked every bit the commander the soldiers believed him to be — a man carved from iron and conviction. But to her, he was still Erwin. Still the boy who used to scold her for climbing too high, still the brother who carried dreams too heavy for one person to bear.
“You shouldn’t push yourself tomorrow,” Erwin said quietly. “I’ll need you alive.”
Anastasia turned to face him fully, her gaze sharp, almost defiant. “Don’t lecture me, Erwin. You know I’ll fight until my last breath. Isn’t that what it means to be a Scout?”
Erwin’s expression softened — barely, but enough for her to see. “No. It means carrying humanity’s hope forward. And you…” he paused, the weight in his eyes undeniable, “…you’re more important to me than the hope of humanity.”
For a moment, her stubborn heart faltered. She wanted to argue, to laugh it off, but the words caught in her throat. She had spent her whole life chasing after him, proving she was more than just “the commander’s sister.” Yet here he was, reminding her of the bond that tethered them beyond rank, beyond duty.
She stepped closer, lowering her voice. “Then don’t you dare die on me tomorrow.”
Erwin chuckled softly, the rare sound carrying like a secret between them. “I could say the same to you.”
The silence that followed was heavy, filled with unspoken truths. They both knew what tomorrow might bring. They both knew one day, one of them would not return.
Anastasia looked back at the moonlight, her reflection faint in the window. This world is cruel… but if I have to burn in it, at least I won’t burn alone.
Tomorrow, the expedition would march beyond the walls.
And with it, the promise they once made as children would be tested in fire and blood.
