Déjà Vu

Episode 1

Have you ever heard of the saying “Déjà Vu”? Well, if you haven’t, what it means is that you experience something that you feel like you’ve already experienced before. It’s not exactly true. Well, at least that’s what we all think. The saying being “fake” has been proven false. That all changed with a cat and a girl.

...***...

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Zoey’s hand popped out of the covers, lazily trying to turn off her alarm. She slammed her hand onto the alarm clock, pressing a button and turning off the alarm. Sleepily, she got up and checked the time. She wiped her eyes, still feeling very sleepy.

Ugh…what time is it?

She looked at the clock to check the time. Her eyes widened, horror entering her face. It was eight forty-five am.

‘I only have fifteen minutes to get ready and get to school!’ shouted Zoey, flinging the covers off her bed. She made her way to her wardrobe, picking out her school uniform at lightning speed.

After ten minutes, Zoey was ready to go to school. She flung her front door open.

‘I’m off to school!’ shouted Zoey, telling her family where she was going.

She dashed out the door, slamming it behind her. Zoey repeatedly checked her phone, making sure that she wasn’t late. She was panting, running to make sure she got to school on time.

Four minutes to go. I can do this. I just have to keep running.

As Zoey ran to school, a black cat suddenly popped out of a bush. She nearly stood on it. She stopped running and the cat brushed against her legs. Zoey quickly crouched down, petting it.

‘Sorry, little guy. Nearly ran over you,’ softly said Zoey, petting the black cat.

As the cat brushed against her legs, she felt a spark of electricity run through her body to her brain. She just brushed it off, though. She quickly stood, starting to run away again.

Three minutes to go.

‘Sorry again, little guy! But I’m going to be late to school! Maybe I’ll see you some other time and make it up to you!’ called Zoey, dashing down the sidewalk.

After two minutes, she reached school. Thankfully, first period hadn’t started yet. She ran into school, running towards the languages corridor. She burst into a French classroom, hoping that her home room teacher wasn’t in yet. Thankfully, she wasn’t. Zoey sighed, trying to gasp her breath. She quickly sprayed herself with perfume in case she smelt bad.

Thank goodness. Madame Pouche isn’t in yet.

Zoey walked over to her desk, collapsing into the chair. She rested her head on the desk, tired. Suddenly, she heard footsteps coming from behind her. The person crouched down, their arms crossed as they lean

on her desk. Zoey couldn’t see them as her head was still down on the desk.

‘Morning, sunshine,’ said the male voice.

Zoey looked up, it was her best friend, Alexander. She called him Alex for short, though. He was resting his head on his hand, grinning from ear to ear as he looked at Zoey.

‘Morning,’ mumbled Zoey.

‘You’re looking a little…’ Alex paused, looking her up and down, ‘gruff.’

‘Shut up. I woke up late this morning,’ huffed Zoey, frowning at Alex.

‘Look who woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.’

Zoey ignored him. Suddenly, her stomach grumbled. She quickly clutched it. Alex looked at her, confused.

‘I’m starving,’ moaned Zoey, still holding onto her stomach.

‘You didn’t have to time to eat this morning?’ asked Alex. Zoey nodded. ‘You really did wake up late this morning.’ He stood up and reached into his pocket. He then held his hand out, an apple in his hand. ‘Here. I was going to eat this for break but you need it more than me.’

Zoey took the apple from his hand, immediately taking a bite into it. ‘Thank you,’ thanked Zoey, her mouth full.

This was only the beginning of Zoey’s interesting life.

Episode 2

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Alex walked back to his seat. As he heard heels coming from outside the classroom. Everyone ran back to their seats as fast as lightning. Fear had struck the classroom.

Madame Pouche, slowly walked into the class, a stern look on her face. Her heels clicked on the ground, the only noise in the whole classroom. Everyone held their breaths, making sure to not breathe too loudly.

Suddenly, a boy coughed in the room. Madame Pouche glared at him, looking like she was about to kill him. He looked scared as he tried to hold back his sneeze. Madame Pouche could threaten people with her stare. It was her specialty.

Madame Pouche cleared her throat and said to the class, ‘Everyone turn to page three hundred and twenty-five in your textbooks’.

Everyone got their textbooks out and turned to page three hundred and twenty-five.

Zoey sat and stared at the page in boredom. It was so boring that she feel asleep.

Zoey’s Dream

The boy beside her called Nathan stood up to answer a question. But when he got up he wet his pants, and everyone laughed at him.

Zoey suddenly woke up from her dream as she heard her teacher Madame Pouche, asking people for feedback about what they read on page three hundred and twenty-five.

Crap I didn’t read anything on page three hundred and twenty-five because I fell asleep.

Zoey was hoping that Madame Pouche wouldn’t ask her for any feedback as she didn’t know what she would say.

Madame Pouche than said, ‘Nathan could you give me some feedback on page three hundred and twenty-five please’.

All the class turned to face Nathan as he stood up, before Nathan could speak, Zoey noticed that people in the class were sniggering and pointing at Nathan. But when Madame Pouche turned and gave them a stern looked they stopped.

Zoey wondered why they were sniggering and pointing at Nathan. Than she realised a strong smell coming from the left side of her were Nathan sat. She turned around and immediately noticed why everyone was laughing. It was because Nathan had wet his pants.

For some reason Zoey felt like she had been in this scenario before. As she was thinking about it she was interrupted by the bell.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Everyone packed up their stuff, and left. As Zoey was walking to Maths still thinking about the incident, she heard a familiar voice calling her name.

‘Zoey, wait up’, shouted Alex.

Zoey stopped walking as Alex ran up to her.

‘Hi’, smiled Zoey.

‘Hi’, said Alex, still panting from running to her. ‘You ok, you haven’t seemed like yourself all day’,said Alex, with a worried tone.

‘Yea I’m fine, don’t worry about me’, said Zoey.

‘You sure, because that look on your face says otherwise’, said Alex.

‘Well you know when Nathan wet himself’, said Zoey.

‘Yea…?’, questioned Alex.

‘Well how do I put this… basically it felt like I had been there before’, said Zoey as she walked up to her locker and put her books into and put her maths book in her bag, as Alex did the same.

‘You mean like Deja Vu..?’ He questioned. As he got his books for maths.

‘Yea, but is probably just a coincidence’. She muttered.

Alex nodded, as they both made their way up the stairs to their maths room. As they were walking Zoey wondered if it actually was just a coincidence or else was she actually experiencing Deja vu?

When Alex and her got to the Maths room. She remembered the black cat that rubbed against her leg this morning. She wondered if she actually was experiencing Deja Vu, if she was what if that was what was causing it…?
