Near the tall window where the sunlight spilled like honey, a boy sat curled up in thought. His lips twitched with a smile he couldn’t quite hide, and every so often, a quiet laugh escaped him.
The word alone made his heart flutter.
“He imagined it all” waking up beside someone who would look at him with sleepy eyes and of course say, “Good morning, love.” He pictured dinners together, walking hand in hand through their home, even silly arguments over which side of the bed belonged to whom.

“Oh, and he’ll probably bring me flowers every week,” *whispered to himself with a grin* “Or maybe chocolate. No definitely both.”
The thought of it made him giggle, though he clamped a hand over his mouth quickly, as if embarrassed by his daydreams. Still, he couldn’t help it. He had always admired the bond between his parents way his father’s sternness melted in his mother’s presence, the way their love seemed untouchable in a world filled with shadows.
That was what he wanted. That was what he believed marriage was supposed to be: love, warmth, forever.
And now, with a proposal from one of the most powerful families in the city, it was finally within reach.
He pressed his forehead lightly against the glass, cheeks glowing.

“Just wait… soon, my home will be filled with love too.”

Lost in his thoughts he was brought back to reality by a knock on the door before it opened.
His mother stepped inside with a smile, his father following behind.

“You seem awfully cheerful today,”* teased, eyes twinkling* “Thinking about your future husband, aren’t you?”

*sat up straighter, heat rushing to his cheeks* “M..Mother..! I was just… I mean….maybe a little.”
Travis June/Trevor Dad (DA)
*His father chuckled* “Well, you’d better keep those fantasies simple, son. From what we know, the young Mr. Williams isn’t the romantic type.”
Trevor June (DO)
*Blink* “Not romantic? But…he’s going to be my husband!”
Ryan June/ Trevor Mom (DO)
“He’s a CEO,” his mother explained gently. “Busy, serious, always buried in work. He may not have time for flowers and candlelight dinners.”
Trevor June (DO)
*His lips pursed in protest* “A marriage without affection is just business. I’ll make him smile. Just wait and see.”
His parents exchanged a knowing look, then laughed softly. His mother reached over to ruffle his hair.

“That’s what we’re counting on. If anyone can bring warmth into his life, it’s you.”
Trevor June (DO)
*his heart swelled at the thought. “A cold, serious man? Perhaps. But no heart was beyond reach.”
After all, he believed in love.

The office was dim, and shadows stretched long across polished wood and glass. Behind the wide desk, the Williams heir sat in silence.

He didn't flinch, didn't even lift his eyes from the file on the desk. Because the word marriage meant nothing to him.

“I have built my life on discipline, work, and control. Love and affection are all weaknesses and I'm not ready for that, I promise to respect and treat him well but I don't think I can give him love “

“Perhaps. But sometimes, business has a way of changing a man.”

He didn’t hate the idea of it. What he hated was the responsibility it dragged along with the obligation to show up for someone, to make time for dinners, to be gentle, to offer affection.
That was the problem.
His life was already split in two: the clean, polished front of his company, and the darker, bloodstained world that thrived beneath it. Every hour was claimed by business, strategy, survival. Where in all of that was there room to hold someone’s hand? To comfort? To love?
