The Cold Male Lead Becomes My Fiancé

Chapter-1: Just a few minutes

Amira was lying on the road, limbs spread out as blood gushed out of her body, particularly her abdomen where the car had hit her.

Minutes before, the driver was screaming and waving at passer-bys to get out of his way and asking for help while he lost control of his car.

When Amira noticed, it had been simply too late. The uncontrollable car had hit her with great force causing her to fall on the ground and hit her head.

While she slowly lost her concsiousness, the last thing she noticed was people gathering around her, some screaming, some gasping while some called for help.

Before closing her eyes completely, she saw a blurry image of a man coming forward and felt his hands pick her up, and then… she fainted.

Amira opened her eyes with a loud gasp.

"Where am I?", she asked looking around her surroundings. It was all white, everything was… eerily white.

She stood up trying to grasp the situation. A sudden sharp pain hit her head followed by a full fledged headache.

Then some scenes entered her mind. They were unusual yet… familiar.

She saw a teenage girl, roughly around 15 years old, hanging around and chatting with her friends. The girl had black hair, but… Amira was a brunette. So who was this? Why was she seeing this girl?

Amira clenched her hands, nails digging in the skin of her palms as she felt her headache increase.

Then she realized…this girl…it…it was her!

It was her from her past life where she had died in her apartment with her whole family because of an earthquake!

Her headache increased again.

And she remembered her last moments. The last thing she remembered before dying was reading her favorite novel "All for Rose". She loved that book in her past life.

Amira rubbed her eyes with one hand trying to focus on gaining more memories.

But her head ached so much that she fainted.

There was a long silence.

"…ra"

"...mira!"

Amira heard faint voices calling her name. She slowly opened her eyes, vision blurry as her parents came into picture.

"Amira!", her mother, Emily gripped her hand tight as if she was afraid Amira would slip away.

"You're finally awake", she cried, tears flowing from her eyes.

"Emily, calm down. Don't scare her." Her father calmly said patting Emily's back. Then he smiled at Amira, "I'm so glad you're back." He moved closer to her and gently patted her head.

Amira looked around her, observing her parents along with the environment. A doctor and few nurses came rushing in to check up on her.

It finally registered in her mind that she had fainted and was currently inside a hospital, lying on a hospital bed. No wonder her parents were dramatically crying.

The doctor did a few check-ups on her and concluded that she was okay. Her body had almost recovered and fortunately, no memory loss had occurred because that would've been a total nightmare.

Amira was also glad the doctors allowed her to go back home. She could never bear eating hospital foods.

After she sat inside their car, Emily began crying all over again while her father, Victor drove off.

"So…", Amira finally opened her lips to talk, voice hoarse, "How long was I out?"

"A month", Emily answered.

"A month!"

Her mother nodded.

"You mean to tell me I was unconscious for a whole freaking month!"

Emily nodded again, "You were in a coma. Your father and I were so worried."

She was in coma for a month? Unbelievable! She lost a month worth of time from her life.

"Well, I'm just glad you've recovered", Victor said while driving.

Amira just nodded and sighed.

Somehow one accident which happened in just a few minutes, changed her entire outlook on life.

And now…she has memories of her past life.

Chapter-2: I'm in a novel!!!

Victor opened the door, and Emily slowly helped Amira out of the car.

Their butler, Carlos, rushed over to help them with everything.

As her mother held her shoulders and entered the villa, she saw two unfamiliar maids bowing before them. They had most probably been hired in her absence.

Amira went straight to her room. Her mother ordered the servants to cook her favorite dishes to celebrate her return. But she had neither the energy nor the mood for such things.

She had something else to worry about- the novel.

"What a nuisance," she muttered after lying down on the bed. The maids closed the door of her room before leaving.

"All for Rose"- something she had read in her previous life and absolutely adored.

Strangely, she remembered every single detail of this novel; it was all crystal clear to her. Did she love this novel that much?

The female lead of that novel, Rose Thompson, coincidentally shared the same name as her best friend. And just like her best friend, the female lead was a sweet and kind girl. But she was also smart and strong, and she never let anyone walk over her.

The female lead's best friend... also had her name- Amira Brighton.

Could it all be a coincidence? How can their names be the same?

Not just their names, why do both Roses have the same personality?

Amira's eyes widened. A crazy thought came to her mind... she came to an absurd conclusion.

Could it be... that she had been… reincarnated in the universe of "All for Rose"...?

She sat up immediately.

"Oh my God! This means I'm a character in a novel! What?! This can't be!"

Surprised and shocked, Amira let out a gasp and hurriedly she walked in front of the mirror which was standing by the window of her room.

Looking closely at her features, she tried to recall the details.

Amira Brighton's appearance had never been described in detail in the novel. She had light brown hair and green eyes.

That was all... no personality... no family... no motivation... just a simple character who would die while trying to unite the protagonists.

Amira snorted as she looked in the mirror. She really did have green eyes and light brown hair. She wasn't exceptionaly pretty, unlike the female lead, Rose, her best friend. Her looks were average.

She ran a hand through her wavy hair, lost in thought.

"Now what? I'm really in a novel where I die.", she muttered.

She was kind of freaking out.

The novel was a modern romance novel and the story began when Rose had just turned 23. She had finally landed her dream job as a receptionist at the Emerson Hotel.

But there, she mistakenly got tangled with the male lead, Kei Emerson, the hotel's owner whom she mistook for a janitor and thus, began their unexpected friendship.

After being friends for a while, they caught feelings for each other.

Naturally, Kei was the first to fall in love with her. Then, slowly but surely, Rose fell in love with him, unaware of his true identity.

But the problem arose when Kei was forced to get engaged to Amira, a marriage of convenience to tie the Emerson and the Brighton family together.

Unable to bear the truth, Rose cut off her friendship with Amira and rejected Kei's love.

But in the novel, Amira was the devoted best friend, the side character who would sacrifice her own happiness for the leads, that one character readers would always pity.

So in the end, she committed suicide.

After all, she was the obstacle to their love story. Amira wrote a letter, stating her last wish- 'I want Rose and Kei to live happily ever after'.

And that was how Amira's story ended in the novel. Finally, the protagonists were happy together… at the expense of Amira's death.

Not long after that, their story had ended too.

As Amira remembered reading all this, tears trickled at the corner of her eyes.

"Why?", she asked her reflection in a shaky voice.

Why did she have to suffer? Was her death really necessary?

Chapter-3: Here comes the female lead.

"Why?" tears streamed down her face.

"I don't want to die."

The door of her room slammed open as soon as she said that.

"Amira...", someone said in a worried voice, a woman. That sounded like her older sister. She heard her footsteps coming closer.

"What are saying? You just woke up from a coma, idiot."

"Blair." her voice shaky, she lifted her face from the mirror to look at her dear sister.

As soon as she turned around Blair hugged her.

"Thank god, you're okay." she said, relief evident in her voice.

Amira sniffed and playfully said, "Wow, you're hugging me? Did the sun rise from the west today?"

Blair broke the hug and looked at her. Sitting her down on the bed, she cupped her face, "Even being in a coma won't stop you from making jokes, huh?"

Then she wiped Amira's tears and frowned, "You won't die. Why are you crying?"

Amira was hoping she would not ask that. She shared every little information about her life with Blair. But this one might send her to the mental hospital.

So, she just shrugged, "Nothing much. I'm just glad to be back."

Blair didn't pry further. Instead she lifted Amira's top to look at her abdomen, startling her. "Have you healed yet?"

Even though Amira was caught off guard, she didn't stop her.

"Doctor said it'll take a few more days to heal completely"

"This is going to be one nasty scar." Blair grimaced.

She stared at the wound covered in bandages. Even if it left a scar, Amira couldn't care less. Right now her death mattered the most.

Then she felt Blair's hand let go of the hem of her top and move to the back of her head. "Does this hurt?"

She winced a bit as Blair's fingers touched the skin of her scalp. She had forgotten that her head had hit the ground.

"Hmm...", she hummed.

"I'm going to talk to the doctor about your prescription"

Amira just nodded mindlessly. It was great to have an intern doctor for an older sister.

As they were emerged in their conversation, talking about what happened during her absence, Her mother called them for dinner.

"Let's go." Blair held her hand and helped her walk downstairs to the dining room.

Seeing all the foods on the table, she cheered up.

"Wow! Mom, these are all my favorites!"

Emily nodded. "Look at you. You've become so thin." she sighed dramaticaly. "Today you can as much as you want."

She helped Amira sit on a chair and put a bowl of chicken soup in front of her. Her mouth watered at the sight of her favorite dish.

As soon as Blair nodded in approval saying, "It's good for digestion.", she dug in. She was basically inhaling the food.

"You must be starving.", her father chimed in.

She was about to speak but choked on food. A maid poured her a glass of water. "Please slow down, miss Amira." That voice seemed familiar.

She coughed for a while before drinking the water and murmured a 'thanks' to the maid. Then she noticed it- that eye catching red hair.

None of the maids had that hair color- red similar to a rose. She looked at her carefully. That was when it hit her… her eyes widened.

"Oh my god!", she shouted. "Rose?!"

Amira jumped up in excitement and hugged her. Everyone else just smiled at her.

"I missed you." Rose said, hugging her back.

"Me too."

"No, you didn't. You were busy being in a coma." She said jokingly in an accusing tone.

"Oh, sorry, for neglecting you, my queen. I shouldn't have gotten hit." Amira rolled her eyes.

Then they both chuckled.
