WHO SHOULD BE MY LOVER ?

EPISODE 1 - DREAM

The smell of fresh coffee wrapped around Aurora as she sat in her favorite corner of the small café, her notebook open, pen moving in neat strokes. It was just another quiet morning — the kind she preferred. She was the type of girl who could easily blend into the background, unnoticed by most, though her fashion sense often made people’s eyes linger for a moment longer than they intended.

She paused mid-sentence, glancing up when a couple walked in. They settled at a table by the window, leaning close, whispering and laughing as if the rest of the world didn’t exist. The boy brushed a strand of hair from the girl’s face, and she smiled in that soft, safe way that said you’re the one.

Aurora’s chest ached — not from jealousy, but from longing. She wanted that. Someone who looked at her like that. Someone she could write endless poems about, not just imagine in the pages of her notebook.

She took a slow sip of her coffee, her gaze drifting back to her paper. Her pen moved slower now, tracing thoughts of a caring boyfriend, stolen glances, and warm hands intertwined with hers. The scene in her head became so vivid, it felt almost real.

Her eyelids grew heavy. The café sounds blurred. And before she knew it… she had dozed off.

A phone buzz broke through her haze. Mia’s name flashed on the screen. Aurora stirred, blinking at the sunlight streaming through the café window.

“Hello?” she said groggily.

“Aurora! Good morning! Today is the day to move to your dormitory as a freshman,” Mia said brightly. “Are you ready?”

Aurora’s brow furrowed. “Dormitory? I… I don’t understand…”

Before she could process more, she noticed movement around her. A small crowd had gathered, holding notebooks and phones.

“Aurora! Your autograph, please!”

“Miss Aurora, just a signature!”

Aurora froze, confused and overwhelmed. Her face burned. What… what’s happening?

“I… I think you’ve got the wrong person,” she stammered, standing quickly. “I… I just fell asleep for a few minutes.”

Her heels clicked as she ran out of the café. The driver, waiting nearby, opened the door.

“Miss, shall we go?”

Aurora slid inside, her heart racing. She still couldn’t understand what was happening — the sudden attention, the whispers, the crowd. She wrapped her arms around herself, feeling uneasy in the unexpected spotlight.

The car started moving, the city blurring past. Aurora’s thoughts whirled, still processing. Why is everyone looking at me? What did I do?

When the car finally arrived at a massive villa, Aurora froze. A grand house, sprawling with a backyard pool and sunlit gardens — her dream home.

She stepped inside, blinking at the grandeur. Mia appeared with a warm smile.

“Where have you been all this time? Don’t you know you have to go back to your dormitory?” Mia asked, a little exasperated.

Aurora’s eyes widened. “Who… who are you? And whose house is this?”

Mia froze for a moment, then laughed lightly, shaking her head. “Aurora, are you okay? I’m Mia — your manager. Looks like being famous has made you a little dumb. Can’t recognize your own house?”

Aurora’s lips parted in shock. “I… I’m famous? My house?”

Mia nodded, smiling patiently. “Yes, it’s your house. You are a famous writer and fashion influencer. Did you forget? What happened to you? You just went to the café for inspiration for your new book and… became a little stupid. Anyway, get ready, we’ll be late.”

Aurora blinked, then let out a small laugh, shaking her head as if brushing off the comment. Okay, maybe I am a little stupid, she thought, smiling to herself. But whatever — this is my dream. Let’s enjoy it.

Mia helped her pick an outfit: a cream blouse with gold buttons, high-waisted black trousers, and glossy heels. A quick touch of makeup later, Aurora looked… the same, yet different. She looked like someone who belonged in the spotlight.

Mia glanced at her watch. “Your driver’s here.”

Aurora took a slow breath. This is my dream. I can be confident. I can be seen.

She straightened her shoulders. “Alright,” she whispered to herself. “Time to live it.”

Her heels clicked against the floor as she walked out, sliding into the sleek car waiting outside. The door shut behind her, and the world outside her window began to move.

CHAPTER 2 – THE ENTRANCE

Aurora sat in the back seat of the black Mercedes, her hands resting on her lap, fingers twisting together. The leather seat was soft, the air smelled faintly of vanilla, but her heart wouldn’t calm down.

Her eyes flicked to the window, watching the streets blur by. What will they think? she wondered. Will they laugh? Will they think I’m pretending to be someone I’m not?

She reached for her phone, catching a faint reflection in the dark screen. She hadn’t changed — not really. Her hair still fell in soft waves around her face, framing her big double-eyelid eyes that always seemed to hold a quiet depth. Her cheeks still carried that natural rosy warmth, and her lips were soft and lightly tinted, like they always had been. She was beautiful before… but no one ever noticed, because she never gave them a reason to.

Back then, she kept her head down, avoiding eye contact, staying in the background. Now, with this strange twist of fate, the world seemed to see her. Not because she looked different, but because her talent had pushed her into the light.

“This is still me,” she whispered to herself, touching her hair lightly. “Just… a braver me.”

The car slowed, and her chest tightened. They were almost there.

When the gates of the college came into view, she felt every pair of eyes turning toward the sleek car. The driver parked right at the entrance, stepping out to open her door like she was some kind of celebrity.

The chatter on campus dimmed for a moment. Whispers floated in the air.

“Who is she?”

“New student?”

“That’s a Mercedes… must be rich.”

Aurora hesitated, but then remembered her own words. Confident. Untouchable. She took a deep breath and stepped out.

The sun hit her face, her heels clicked against the pavement, and she kept her chin slightly raised — not too high, just enough to look sure of herself. She could almost believe this was real.

Then, it happened.

A sudden shout came from the basketball court nearby. A ball had been thrown too hard, flying wildly toward the parking lot. Aurora didn’t even notice it at first — she was busy adjusting her bag.

But then, a blur of movement in the corner of her eye.

The ball was seconds away from hitting her face.

Before she could react, a strong, tanned hand shot out in front of her, fingers gripping the ball mid-air with perfect precision.

Aurora’s breath caught as she slowly turned her head to see the owner of that hand — Adrian Cole, the basketball player she had noticed earlier that morning.

CHAPTER 3 – THE CATCH

...( CONTINUE FROM PREVIOUS CHAPTER )...

Aurora blinked, her mind taking a second to process what just happened.

The ball was inches from her face a moment ago — now it rested firmly in a stranger’s grasp. His grip was sure, almost casual, like catching a high-speed basketball mid-air was nothing more than catching an apple rolling off a table.

She followed the line of his arm — lean, muscular, with veins faintly visible beneath sun-kissed skin — up to a tall frame. He was wearing the college’s basketball jersey, the number barely visible under the sweat-darkened fabric. His hair was slightly damp, messy from playing, covering his some parts of his eyes but it only made him look effortlessly put together.

And then… she saw his eyes hidden behind his hair.

Dark. Sharp. But not cold — there was something unreadable in them, like he was silently sizing her up. They didn’t linger long; just one quick glance, enough to make her feel like he saw more than she wanted him to.

“You should watch where you’re standing, princess” he said simply, his voice low and steady. No playful tone, no apology, just… stating a fact.

Aurora swallowed. “I… didn’t see it coming.”

He tossed the ball once in his palm, then spun it lightly on one finger before walking back toward the court without another word. Just like that, he was gone — as if the moment had never happened.

But she could still feel the rush of air from that ball, still hear the faint thump when it landed in his hand.

A few students nearby were whispering.

“That’s Adrian… captain of the team.”

“Of course he’d catch it. His reflexes are insane.”

“He doesn’t talk to anyone much though.”

Adrian. She repeated the name in her mind, wondering why it felt like it carried weight — like it was the start of something.

Before she could think more, Mia’s voice called from behind her.

“Aurora! You’re going to be late for your first class!”

Aurora shook herself out of the daze, forcing her legs to move. But as she walked toward the main building, she couldn’t stop her eyes from flicking back to the court — where Adrian was already playing again, as if he hadn’t just saved her.
